• Bad high speed internet connection, no free breakfast.

• Wonderful beds and pillows. Quiet.
• Internet was slow and inconsistent. No free breakfast.

“I was upgraded to the Hilton which is a three star property. I would prefer a 2.5 star property that has better wireless internet and free breakfast. The hotel was very clean and the room was comfortable. Nice flat screen TV. Also, the front desk refused to rent me a roll-away bed because they claimed you could only have three occupants in a room if there was one bed in it. Overall, everything worked out fine.”

• Price for the room.

“I was not impressed very much, the only good thing was the breakfast, hallways were unattractive dark colors, rooms were ok and I was glad they did not match up with the ugly hallways, however, the water temperature dials in the shower were reverse, the cold was really hot and hot was really cold, this was discovered after an engineer had to come to my room at 11:30 pm to check it out.”

• The room was beautiful. Did not have the standard "hotel" feel. Enjoyed the little extras that were complimentary.
• Noise from the hallway was not well insulated.

“Would stay here again if the price was in our price point. The room was spacious and attractively decorated. The hotel was convenient to shopping, restaurants and a walking path. I would definitely recommend it to others.”

• Walking distant to shops, restaurants, and man-made lake with walking trails; saved gas by exploring and enjoying the nearby bonus hotel amenities.
• None.

“This hotel has great bonus amenities nearby. We were able to save some gas by spending time on the boardwalk; walking around the lake, paddle boat ride and local restaurants and bars. Only thing we could find wrong with the hotel was the fact that that weekend there was a family reunion and two wedding ceremonies. In other words the hotel was busy.”

• Loved the bathroom sink! Overall decor was modern and upscale.
• Nothing.

“This hotel is conveniently located just off I-85. The decor is modern and upscale - what you would expect from a newer Hilton. The room had a flat panel TV and was comfortable and well decorated. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful; they quickly gave me a new room when the first one was a king (instead of 2 doubles).”

“I enjoyed my stay. I was placed in a room that was not as comfortable and the air conditioner was not working. I notified and was placed into a different room 2-3 hours later. The response time was quick and my concerns were addressed.”

• Convenient Location and beautiful water view (man made lake on the back of hotel).
• Hall way was not as clean as it should be. A mini refrigerator in the room will be helpful.

• Automatically placed in smoking room - did not offer option.

“They automatically placed me in a smoking room. I was very tired and nose stuffed up with allergies at the time of check in. By the time (15 minutes) that I realized the room was smoking, I had already undressed and partially unpacked. Front desk staff should have asked what time of room I preferred?”

• If parking is full, expect to walk a distance unless you want to pay valet parking.

“I originally wanted a hotel close to the airport, but this is really not far, 15-20 min drive. Did not get a chance to try the outdoor pool but the it appears to be quite big. The hotel is located at the restaurant and shopping mall so you can easily walk to the shops and stores. Beds are very comfortable, big flat panel LCD TV, bathroom seems to be newly renovated with latest vanity style, curved shower rod, lighted make-up mirror. Definitely a 3 or higher star accommodation.”

“Hotel was awesome. We were obviously in a former smoking room and the smell was still there. However the room was very clean and the hotel staff was incredible. The problems we had with the room did not in any way reflect poorly on the hotel.”

“The accommodations were good. Response to a couple of problems were prompt and satisfactory. Ease of check-in and check-out. The "double bed" room was a little cramped. Overall the Driveway Entrance, Lobby and Meeting Rooms were what I expect from a three star hotel. More importantly - the quality of the Staff is indicative of a 4 or 5 star hotel. They were professional, capable, kind, helpful and cheerful! I would gladly recommend this hotel.”

• Good location and good appearance.
• Hotel restaurant was expensive. For coffee, juice and bagel, I paid $10. The food was good, but expensive.

“It was a cute hotel in a good location for shopping or eating. The boardwalk is right outside the back door of the hotel. I saw people doing sports activities on the lake, in addition to walking along the boardwalk. The room was extra cute with a good view. I loved the clock radio. I could get clear stations in a section. Would definitely recommend this hotel.”

• The beautiful boardwalk around the lake, outdoor patios/spaces.
• Breakfast not included, price of breakfast outrageous.

“This hotel was beautifully decorated, room was very clean and tastefully done. The lake and boardwalk are romantic. Bar and pool area impressive. I especially liked the outdoor patios/decks overlooking the lake.”

“This hotel was great other than the inconsiderate party that was on our floor. They woke me up very early and it was nonstop door slamming of loudness.”

• The room was big enough to set up our portable crib and still have plenty of extra room.
• No free internet at the business center.

“This is a very nice, high-rise hotel in the University area of Charlotte. There are lots of restaurants and shopping close by. The rooms are very large and comfortable. We would definitely consider staying here again if visiting in Charlotte.”

• There was no refrigerator or microwave in the room.

“Overall, my stay here was very good. The room was comfortable (the bed was absolutely wonderful) and well decorated (including the bathroom). The hotel had free wireless internet that worked without a hitch and there were beautiful flat panel TV's in the room. One thing I noticed about the TV's is that it had every type of input you would ever need. This is great if you are bringing kids who must bring their video game system with them or if you are there for a long stay and want some extra in room entertainment. The only downsides to the hotel is the lack of a refrigerator/microwave. Also, the vent in my bathroom was not working, but I was able to deal with a foggy mirror. Everything else was excellent. I would definitely stay here again.”

• Very convenient location, plenty parking and importantly located in a safe location, with staff willing to help with directions.
• There lots of people attending family reunions and we heard several knocks on our door from individuals looking for their members.

“The friendliness and safe environment of the hotel greet you immediately after your arrival. The hotel room was large, clean and comfortable, with everything you need available either for free or to purchase, which made our staying less stressful.”

“Truly a spectacular hotel. Friendly staff. Shops and entertainment within walk or short drive. Amenities can't be beaten for the price. Rooms were very comfortable. Was in town for a wedding in the area so not sure of relation to downtown. Would have to look in to that if planning downtown activities. Great stay!”

“We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The hotel staff was very friendly and helped us out in anyway that they could. The front desk staff were very kid friendly. They talk to not only us, but also with my 4 year old son. They made us feel right at home. We used the bellboy on Sunday morning when we left to help us with our luggage and he was a very nice and helpful young man. A wonderful experience!”

• Beautiful room with all the comforts. Classy decor and very friendly staff in great setting, close to restaurants, stores and entertainment.
• No complimentary Continental breakfast, except for VIP's.

• Courteous staff! Really clean rooms!
• Lobby renovation work was noisy, even on the 11th floor starting at 8 a.m.

“Fabulously friendly and helpful staff at all times. The rooms were clean and very comfortable, amenities were great, exercise room was beyond expectations. One minor concern (and it's really minor) is parking. Two cars in the parking lot were broken into one night here's a no-brainer: don't leave valuables VISIBLE in the car (duh). Close parking is not always possible, especially if the hotel is hosting several events at one time. But it's free parking, so why complain?! And there's always valet parking.”
