• Beach front property.
• The noise in the hall and outside.

“The don't use fabric softener in the towels, the internet does not work, the noise in the hall went on all night, no room service after placing order.”

• The rooms are very comfortable, nice beds.
• Lots of hidden charges, also no microwave in rooms.

“This hotel is in a beautiful setting with comfortable rooms. Be prepared to pay $18.99 per person for breakfast and another $10.00 a night to park your car. The refrigerator in the room is tiny and a microwave is not provided.”

“The only thing that I found to be negative was the $10 per night they charged for the parking. But considering the fabulous price I got by using Priceline, I was not really upset.”

• the rooms were cheap, they felt damp, were dirty and small

“Disappointing! Defiantely not worth the price. I know that the hotel is on the beach, but it was the most damp room I've ever been in. I felt dirty the whole time I was there. The a/c didn't go below 72 (and we tried 2 different rooms) There wasn't a fridge or microwave in the room. I felt like I was staying at the Super 8 instead of the Marriott! There is a Holiday Inn close to this hotel and I would assume its compariable to this place. The only thing this place had going for it was the pool/bar.”

• Very clean rooms, pool and public areas. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Very friendly and helpful staff. Complimentary refrigerator in room.
• Daily charge of $10 for parking on site. Other Resorts on Hilton Head do not charge for parking on site.

“Wonderful resort; my husband and I will definitely stay here again. Very clean rooms, pool and public areas. Beds and pillows are so comfortable! Plenty of space in rooms to not feel crowded. Staff is very friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. Staff seems to really enjoy working at this resort. Beautiful grounds and pool area; you can see the ocean while you lounge by the pool. Plenty of umbrellas in pool area to shelter from sun. Wonderful pool for lap swimming and recreation. I am a lap swimmer and enjoyed daily early morning swims before the pool got busy; this pool is very clean! In the pool area there are also hammocks under palm trees that overlook the ocean. Wonderful resort by Marriott! We look forward to returning to this resort.”

• Staff was friendly and glad to switch our room to a king instead of standard 2 double. Room even had a partial ocean view at no extra charge!
• There was a $10.50 per day self park fee. I would have used valet.

“Staff was very friendly and willing to accommodate. Rooms were very clean as well as public areas. Hotel was very close to the ocean and had readily available rentals for chairs and bikes as well as beach patrol on duty. I would love to stay again!”

• Rooms were boring and basic, building is old and it shows in some areas.

“Great hotel, wonderful staff - very friendly and willing to go out of your way to help, very family friendly and great fun for kids.
The building and the facilities are old and could use renovation. In particular, the rooms were rather bare, old furniture, old mattresses, etc. Bathrooms were functional but nothing to rave about. I'd expect better furnishings and decor in such a hotel. The room simply reminded me of a nice Holiday Inn. Overall, however, excellent place to lay low, relax and to have some fun.”

• Poolside food could use some improvement. An outdoor cafe/restaurant would be nice. Elevators are a bit slow.

• You didn't have to leave the resort.
• Had to pay to self park $10.20, beach chair & umbrella rentals were $30.

“Great resort ! There are 2 restaurants, a gift shop and a snack shop (Starbucks coffee served). The pool area is wonderful. It has a diving pool, kiddie pool and a pool for swimming. The hotel offers access to a private beach.”

“The hotel was excellent in terms of the location, dining options, pool, etc. The downside of the hotel was the way you are nickeled and dime. $10 a day if you want internet access in your room, $10 a day for parking, mind you not valet. This should be included in the nightly rate. Also, the housekeeping service was unacceptable. Under the bed I found a water bottle, a dirty band aid and a toy that housekeeping had not taken care of from the guests before us!”

• Price difference between pool bar and lounge for same drinks; $10 per day self parking fee.

“My wife and I spend 2-3 weekends here per year. The resort is within a 4 hour drive of Charlotte, NC and affords us an opportunity to get away from it all without flying. The property is clean and the grounds well manicured. The staff here is always ready to serve and are very proficient at their jobs. They truly aim to please.”

• Assigned to a room with an exhaust vent as a view.

“First room assigned provided a view to a roof and vent instead of an island view, following morning requested a move to a more appropriate location with an island view and provided my wife's Marriott rewards number, better room with an island view although we had to get 4 different sets of keys to enter the room.”
