• Great room. Very large, clean, good bed and linens.
• Front desk check-in clerk was very rude and non-communicative.

• Big rooms, fridge and stove.
• Theft of luggage occurred and hotel refuses to acknowledge it.

“Friendly enough, rooms clean but ceiling leaking all over lamps and floor when I arrived. Needs maintenance and upgrading. Most serious complaint: Blatant theft of my suitcase contents when I inadvertently left my suitcase in the room on checkout. When the bag was returned to me, several items of new clothing (tags still on) had been removed, along with two new books. The bag had been neatly repacked after someone had clearly taken some time to thoroughly go through it. Upshot: Manager denies charge, says I must have misplaced the items. In short, no one believes me, even though I have a witness who watched me pack my bags. I'm disappointed!”

“I was much expressed with the overall customer service and cleanliness of the hotel compared to other hotel I have stayed in. The chocolate chip was also an added bonus that they give the entire guest.”

• Very large rooms.
• Kitchen area not clean, A/C quit working.

“It was not bad, but the kitchen garbage had not been emptied (no telling how long it had been sitting there) and housekeeping turned our A/C off (it was 86 degrees) and when we came back to the room it did not work. But an engineer came quickly and got it started again, but it literally took all night to get the room cool again.”

• How close it was to the South Park Mall and the lounge.
• Can't really think of anything - had a nice stay.

“We were just in town for the night to do some shopping at the South Park Mall; therefore, this hotel served it's purpose for us - it was literally right next door to the Mall. Also, large rooms with even a small kitchen! Staff was very friendly.”

• Location near great shopping, downtown and restaurants.
• Staff was unprofessional at times and rude.

“The Doubletree/South Park is a great hotel for those that want to avoid the hustle and bustle, and parking issues, of Downtown Charlotte. It's within 10 miles of downtown, so great for business travelers, and next door to the most upscale mall in the area, great for leisure travelers. It's also great for long term guests and families as we had a room with a small kitchenette - stove, refrigerator and dishwasher. I would certainly recommend it.”

• Close to South Park Mall & businesses.
• Older facilities could use updating. Parking was not convenient.

“In my opinion this hotel did not live up to the 3 star billing. Older facilities and and rooms plus inconvenient parking would make me try for a different choice next trip. On the plus side these are full suites and could work for longer stays or family stays if you are not too picky.”

• The fact that room had a private balcony. Discount vouchers for local restaurants and fresh baked cookies!
• Nothing.

“This hotel was simply the best. It was truly a breath of fresh air. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was a delight. The balcony added a great touch. The location could not have been better! I would stay again and again and again.”

• Suite hotel.
• Our truck was broken into in the parking deck.

“The hotel was a good quality suite. The restaurant was a little pricey for a breakfast and not that good for the price. We would stay at the Doubletree again but we wouldn't eat at the restaurant.”

• It was spacious and clean and in a very convenient, pleasant location.
• We were disappointed that the rooms did not have free wireless service and the pillows were too soft for my husband.

“We enjoyed our stay here very much. It was clean and spacious and there are many wonderful restaurants close by. We were a bit disappointed that the rooms did not have complimentary, wireless access but we did have use of the business office.”

• Suite with a pullout and separate bedroom that contained 2 beds.
• Appearance very plain.

“This hotel is perfect for a traveling family: Living Area with pull out bed and TV, separate bedroom with two beds and another TV, and a full kitchen! The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. However, the lobby and living areas could use a little "sprucing up" as far as the decorations. The initial looks of the place leaves more to be desired but still above average.”

• The cookie at Doubletree is always great, but this time that was it.
• The hotel felt old, unclean and drafty. It is in desperate need of refurbishment.

“I usually love Doubletree Hotels, however this one is the exception. Although the rooms are massive, they are in terrible shape. The first room I was placed in was originally supposed to be a convertible conference room with a Murphy bed. However, the table had been removed, and nothing was put in its place, thus leaving a gaping hole in the middle of the room that left the room feeling very unbalanced and uncomfortable. The room I was placed in after that was a smoking room and the door to the patio was not properly insulated, leaving a constant draft to contend with. I will not stay here again unless I hear that they have completely gut renovated the premises.”

• The location was great, next to South Park Mall. The rooms were spacious.
• The bedding was a bit too warm for my taste.

“I really enjoyed staying at the Doubletree. They welcomed us at check-in with a wonderful warm chocolate chip cookie. Asked why we were visiting and I was there to just get a break with my mom. We told them we were going to be shopping. The South Park Mall is just across the street from the hotel and is safe to walk to. The desk clerk gave us a room right near the entrance to the mall and that was great. The room itself was great. A small kitchen with appliances. A living room with a sofa bed, small dining table with chairs, and a TV. There was a balcony off of the living room. We got a room with 2 queen beds and they were a great size and the bathroom was nice too. The only thing I didn't like was the bedding was too warm and so I didn't sleep great but good.”

• Very quiet hotel - suites very comfortable  love the layout of the beds and living room.
• Kitchens were acceptable, but seemed very small for the size of suite.

“I loved the hotel atmosphere and would stay again as I was very pleased with the hotel in all aspects. Beds were extremely comfortable and bathroom facilities very, very clean. I would stay again as I was very pleased and would certainly recommend it to my friends. The location of the hotel is awesome - so close to shopping, i.e. Southpark Mall, etc.”

• It was located in a wonderful area, and being able to walk to South Park Mall was an added bonus.
• The bar closed too early; the silverware in the room's kitchen had rust stains.

“I will have to say that we were pleasantly surprised with our room. The location was in a safe area and the hotel staff were very pleasant. We would love to stay here again the next time we visit Charlotte.”

• Poor layout of floors, no swimming pool.

“Excellent cookies and fruit at check in/out. Excellent rooms, very comfortable beds and very nice bathrooms. Exercise facility was adequate, but they lacked a swimming pool indoors. No free breakfast, expensive buffet breakfast. Good Wolfgang Puck single cup coffee/tea dispenser in kitchenette. Close to South Park Mall.”

“This is a very nice hotel. The suites are amazing and very comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It is overpriced in my opinion including the restaurant. Overall I enjoyed my stay.”

• We enjoyed a nice room and good front desk service.
• I did not like the parking arrangement and felt disconnected from the hotel after checking in.

“All in all, I enjoyed my stay at the Double Tree. I was incensed at finding that your grounds crew had blown leaves, dust and sticks all over my brand new BMW, including down into the vents and air ducts along the base of the windshield wipers. I was parked in the line of spaces adjacent to the building just out the back door and to the left, with the left side of my vehicle next to a wall that has a tree planted to the left of it surrounded by pine mulch. It aggravated me terribly. Also, I inadvertently left my pillow in room 662, called about it and never heard anything back. It is a special pillow with two memory foam inserts surrounded by goose down.”

• The rooms were suites and we loved the separate kitchen and everything was very clean and comfortable.
• We did not like the parking. There was no convenient way to park near the suite where we were staying,.

“We enjoyed our stay very much. For the price, we expected one room but were pleasantly surprised with a full suite! The bed was so comfortable and the staff when we checked in was very hospitable. The whole area seemed well managed, clean and very comfortable for our stay. We would recommend the doubletree to all our friends and family. Also, I loved the Doubletree trademark cookies and the awesomely comfortable beds.”

• Absolutely NOTHING.

“Wonderful all suite hotel, walk across the street to Upscale "South park" mall & other boutiques (Shoppers paradise!) 3 miles to I-77, 15 minutes to Carotids action park. Outdoor pool only (summer, but very nice), balcony w/sliding door off living room. Soft, fluffy beds, pillows, down blankets, 2 TVs each suite. Have been going to this hotel for about 8 years & the quality & condition has remained top notch! MY all time favorite hotel!”

• The room was nice but the bathroom floor was not clean.

“The hotel is very nice, but if they put a few dishes and pots in the room it would be more desirable for the entire family. Also make sure the bathroom floors are mopped after each guest leaves. There were several spots on the bathroom floor.”

• Felt like I was at home.
• The entrance I often tried to use to the parking lot had some guy blocking it off during the wine festival.

“The hotel was great. I walked into a big living room with a couch and a chair and a TV with a sectioned off kitchen. There was also a very nice brick balcony overlooking the pool. The bedroom was its own room through a door in the living room containing a king sized bed and another TV. Nice bathroom attached to the bedroom with Neutrogena nicely displayed. Much more than I expected for that price.”

“This was an unbelievable 3 star hotel (was better than most 4 stars Ive stayed in). The suite room with full kitchen was more than we needed for one night, but would be great for an extended stay. Great location we walked across the street to a local restaurant and the very upscale south park mall.”
