• Very nice decor.
• Staff was not very professional and why would a 4 star hotel charge 12.95 a day for internet if they want business travelers.

“The room was nice. The pool was dirty and very small. The Coffee in room was not replenished even after asking desk over phone I had to go to lobby hours later to get coffee at front desk. I paid 12.95 for one day internet which I used for less than 1 hour and the hotel tried to charge for 2 days. No airport shuttle available without paying fees does not seem right for such a high scale hotel. When I checked out there was not anyone at desk and I had to wait several minutes while they talked in back room. Only once did the doorman offer to open door.”

• Restaurant had a great breakfast menu with wonderful items at reasonable prices rather than an expensive breakfast buffet.
• I phoned in advance for two doubles instead of king bed, and hotel had no record of it when I arrived.

“Beautiful hotel with wonderfully comfortable beds and motel restaurant we actually enjoyed very much for breakfast. Only downside was that internet access was an extra fee.”

• The staff was accommodating in helping me get a suitable room.
• Room service food quality was subpar and policy of one drink maximum ridiculous.

“The location of the hotel is less than desirable. There are no dining choices nearby and no city life. It is an island to itself in old Durham. The lounge will not let you take more than one drink or beer to your room. However, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking is across the street through another parking lot and not convenient to the hotel--maybe even compromises safety a bit. Property was clean and comfortable.”

• Staff was very friendly and hotel was very conveniently located.
• I had no shampoo in my room and when I call for it they took well over 15 minute to get it to me.

“I thought overall, this was a great hotel in a fantastic location for south Charlotte. The staff was very friendly and the room definitely met my expectations. I am always surprised when hotels do not include free wireless internet these days, which they did not. Otherwise I had a very good experience here.”

• Indoor pool was freezing cold.

“Overall, my family and I had a good experience. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and were very friendly. The beds were probably the most comfortable I've slept on in a hotel. On the downside, the indoor pool was freezing cold in July. My son was shivering after being in it only a couple of minutes. High speed internet was available for $9.95 for 24 hours. Considering less extravagant chains offer free internet, I thought this was high. Although the rooms were clean and staff was friendly, I will most likely stay somewhere else next time.”

“Took them 15 minutes to check in. The clerk did not apologize for the inconvenience at all. Room was nice and beds were very comfortable. Hotel is under construction during daytime hours and there was a strange smell in the hallways. Probably just poor timing so I think I would come again.”

“We had a great stay at the hotel. It is in a great location and was clean. I also enjoyed the gym and my daughter enjoyed the pool. The lounge was also a nice break after a busy day. I would highly recommend this hotel.”

“A perfect location for a family with older children hell-bent to shop (the hotel literally is across the street from South park Mall, a massive center consisting largely of high-end retailers and specialty shops. It's also minutes away from fine dining.”

• It was a very clean hotel, and in a great location. Very friendly staff, and a great workout room/pool!
• There was nothing that I disliked about this hotel.

• The bed was comfortable and the flat screen TV was nice.
• Did not have my reservation and re-booked me into a handicap room.

“I've stayed at this hotel just 4 weeks previous and was very satisfied. When I showed up this time with my family, the hotel did not have my reservation and it appeared I was not the only one. They took about 10 min looking for my reservation before deciding to re-book me into another room. The room they gave me was a handicap room that did not conform well to me being 6'1". The bed was just off the floor giving me the feeling of sleeping on the floor. Not to mention the room had one bed, which was a bit difficult with 4 of us sleeping there. The room did not have an iron in it so we called down to have one brought up. When it arrived the staff member gave no apology for the inconvenience, she just handed it to me wife, turned and left. I will not stay there again.”

“This was our second stay in this hotel and I've always been impressed with the level of service that I receive from the staff. They were responsive to my needs and requests. When we complained of excessive noise in the hallways, they offered to move us to another floor. We will definitely stay here again.”

• They had a large number of children there that were running rampant and nothing was done about it.

• Located in the ritzy part of Charlotte. Staff was very friendly.
• I requested to extend my stay when I went down to get my new room key they told me they didnt have any more rooms !

“This hotel is located in the ritzy part of Charlotte called South park, the mall across the street is Beautiful. The staff was very friendly. The only problem I had with this hotel was that I called down to extend my stay & was told that it would be fine just to come down to get my new key card in the morning, however when I went down they informed me they were sold out ! I was so disappointed.”

• The room was crowded with little space to move around in.

“The renaissance charlotte south park is a great hotel. The staff is very friendly and willing to meet your needs. The atmosphere was enjoyable and caters to both upscale business guests and families. I liked that the pool was not the center attraction, so we did not have to worry about disturbing other guests. Very convenient to great dining and shopping.”

• King size bed.
• Small room. Horrible parking. Parking garage not well lit or adequate signage directing guest how to exit to the hotel.

“The hotel is classified as 3 stars but my experience was more like a 2 star or less. The staff was always pleasant and courteous. However, there were problems with my room key (the first two keys did not work) and my bill was erroneously charged for a service that I did not use. Returning to the hotel desk for a new key (first time) and check out at the hotel desk was inconvenient. The remote control did not work to allow express checkout. Because I wanted a copy of my corrected bill, I had to check out at the desk. Parking is very limited. I circled the garage to find parking but did not see any signs which showed me how to exit the garage to the hotel; it appeared my only option was to walk down each level of the ramp. It was very late and I didn't feel safe parking in or outside of the garage. I was so ready to leave after my one night's stay that I failed to complete the customer survey. I will not recommend or return to this hotel.”
