- Nice hotel, easy for our first stay in Charlotte, Mert's restaurant right outside the door.
- Noise level atrocious as next to all night construction of Ritz Carlton and then topped on Saturday night by basketball revelers until 3 a.m.
“Located in the heart of Downtown Charlotte near the Bobcat Arena, so great for sport's fans, but not good for tired travelers needing a night of sleep. Not easy access for self parkers and a $12 parking fee. Great soul food restaurant, Mert's just outside lobby.”

- The inside was very nice; the rooms were very nice as well.
- The tub was dirty and clogged up, and they were cleaning the restaurant with some kind of toxic cleaner which was very hard on the nose.

“This hotel is in a good location with a great staff. Plenty of good food within walking distance. Just beware that the elevator for garage parking is down near the hotel. You must walk around the block to use the elevator, unpack and pack your car at the lobby entrance and use the stairs.”

- Parking is inconvenient and expensive.
“Great Location convenient to everything in uptown Charlotte. Closest hotel to the Charlotte Bobcats Arena, Imagine on Childrens Center, Discovery Place, the LINX transit system, performing arts center, and all Downtown offices. Nice rooms recently remodeled and updated. Comfortable beds. Lots of great restaurants in walking distance. Only negative is parking. It is inconvenient as you have to walk outside the hotel and around the building to a parking garage on the back side of the block and the cost is still $12 a night. Valet is $16 a night if you don't want the hassle.”

- It's a nice place to stay in Downtown Charlotte. It's convenient to many local attractions.
- A hotel with a rooftop really should take advantage and have a dining area up there. This could attract more guest for sure.

- I was traveling for business and my mother came to explore the city. The hotel took very good care of her and helped her find tours and set with things.
- I enjoyed everything. They were very helpful.

- The location of the hotel was very good and was primarily the reason why I selected this property.
- The bathroom was dirty, the shower leaked horribly, and many of the lights did not work. Also, the staff was noisy very early in the mornings.
“The location of the hotel was very good and was primarily the reason why I selected this property. Upon check in, I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the bathroom. There was a tremendous amount of hair on the floor, toilet, and on the sink. Several of the lights over the bathroom mirror were non functional. The shower leaked horribly and I had to bend way down to get my head into the flow of water. To top it off, the room next door was being worked on by the maintenance staff. They had propped open the door and had a noisy fan running most of the evening. The next morning at 7:15 am, the maintenance staff returned with a wet vacuum to extract the remaining water from the carpet that had leaked down from the room above. I know this because the staff coming in and out of the room, slamming the door as they entered or exited, yelled to each other the details of the situation over the noise created by their equipment in order to be heard. This continued the following morning as well. No indication that the room next door was down for repairs was given to me upon check in. The hotel was not worth the rate I paid and I will not stay there again. Next time I return to charlotte, I will stay at any one of the other hotels within blocks of the uptown area.”

- Having the parking lot elevator outside of the hotel where you had to come in from the street.
“The Holiday Inn Centre has a nice location. The lobby area is uninviting. There was no snack machine in the lobby. In having to walk along the side of the hotel building from the outside parking lot elevator. The room service menu indicated that the meal was going to take no longer than 15 minutes and it took 30, although I had ordered a hot Ruben sandwich, it was warm. My waiter in the restaurant wasn't that attentive and was concentrating on his conversation with two elderly ladies at the next table as oppose to removing the finished plate from my table and replenishing my water glass when I had gone up to the buffet for round two. And my room was never cleaned after I had removed the do not disturb sign. Now, I could have called the front desk to get fresh towels, or signal the waiter to pick up my plate, and maybe send back the sandwich to be heated (however, I don't know if there might have been something done or not) so as a single business traveler, I pay close attention to detail and expect things to be done right the first time, overall the hotel did not pay attention to detail. Maybe it was a slow two days, I was there during thanksgiving.”

- The staff was extremely friendly and the service experience was wonderful.
- Not really handicap-friendly.
“While the staff is wonderful, the room in which I rented was less than adequate. There was no difference between the handicap room and any other room. The showers were not walk-ins but rather tub. They did have bars in there. The toilet was a standard toilet and not a higher ADA toilet. Room did not allow for wheelchair access once you go into the in-room hall.”

- They gave me a room with two beds as I requested. I thought that was really great.
- The people at the front desk were nice, but not as nice as they should have been for a 3 star in my opinion.

- Great location! Nice roof deck. We watched July 4th fireworks from there.
- Room had a funny smell. Also it was run-down. Carpet was not clean.

- Amenities were well worth the price we paid for the hotel room.
- The television "pay on demand" movies were a problem.
“Hotel room was very comfortable. The mattress was superior in comfort from many of the chain hotels I have stayed in. The restaurant food was exceptional and service was very prompt and friendly.”
