• The hotel staff was very helpful in giving me directions around this big city.
• I ordered room service for breakfast at 7 am, it did not come until 7:30 and I couldn't eat because I had to leave, but was still charged.

“This was definitely a great hotel. I ordered room service to be delivered at 7:00 and it did not arrive until 7:30, which is when I had to check out, so I couldn't eat and I was still charged for it. Overall, it was a great hotel and I would definitely stay there again.”

“We took our ten yr old son with us to visit charlotte. The hotel staff was really great. The room was great. Only a few problems. The pool was very small and there were a lot of drunken people in there. The only restaurant open did not serve great foods for family.”

“For a short term stay, this is the place. The staff was friendly, everything was very clean, bright, luxurious. I had to pay $9.95 for internet hookup, which I thought was too high, but overall it was an excellent stay.”

• Its central location to everything in uptown Charlotte. 12:00 check out is nice.
• Omni it didn't wow my experience and the hotel desk staff just ok.

“The Omni is a nice hotel if one is looking at a central uptown location to stay while in Charlotte. The hotel is decorated nicely and the rooms are adequate, but the street noise in this busy downtown district is readily heard from the 7th floor of the hotel. All in all a good experience.”

• Staff was friendly and accommodating. Community/public space was excellent.
• Pool was not very accommodating for the children. Toilet paper holders falling off the walls. TV cabinetry in poor condition.

“The Omni Charlotte is a beautifully appointed hotel with a very courteous and friendly staff. Our room was beautiful, comfortable and very clean. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and if my family is ever in Charlotte again, we will most definitely stay at the Omni.”

“This was a very nice hotel with awesome features. The pool was dirty. Probably due to nearby construction. Could use a new paint job. Otherwise the location and rooms and staff was excellent.”

• The fact that it really wasn't on fire when they had all thirteen floors evacuate their rooms. It gave me an excuse to leave early.
• The hotel management didn't keep everyone informed about the fire emergency!

“This hotel is four stars. I wouldn't give it a two. For the short time we stayed there. I am very unhappy. It did not live up to it's star rating at all!”

“The Omni in Charlotte, NC is everything you would expect of a hotel of this caliber. Located right in the heart of downtown, the Omni is within walking distance of the convention center and all of the major banking headquarters that surround it. Dinning options abound with everything for Subway to Ruth's' Chris, Chick-fill-A to Morton's all within a stones throw. Be sure to seek out Latorre's on 5th for one of the best Mojito's you will ever try. The beds are a little firm for my taste, but you could be lost in the sea of pillows the await you in your room. With a very pleasant and seemingly happy staff, the Omni is a great choice for business travelers and vacationers alike.”

• I was on crutches and the lower lobby staff didn't offer to assist or direct me to the main lobby.

“Well situated, nicely modeled, and highly rated, this hotel promises a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Unfortunately, upon arrival it is clear the hotel is over-rated. At the lower level lobby you are slowly greeted by someone who seems to know what they should do, but takes no pleasure in doing it. Upon arriving at the main lobby one instantly notices the attention to detail is lacking as some of the votive candles are not lit right across from the desk staff who are engaged in their own conversation with seemingly little to do. Upon arriving to your room you realize this used to be a much lower end hotel as even on the fourth floor it sounds like street level and the bath/shower area harkens back to a Holiday Inn, albeit with nicer towels, toiletries, and hair dryer in a bag. For convenience, there is a multi-outlet power strip on the floor next to the bed but after playing around with it for a bit one realizes it isn't actually plugged into an outlet. After moving furniture to unplug the clock radio and angling to get the powers trip cord plugged in you settle down. I could go on, but why bother? Whoever gave these hotel four stars either did so while personally under the influence of something or when the hotel was under the influence of different management.”

“Good location right on trade street in downtown charlotte. The hotel is attractive; however it is somewhat inconvenient to go from the parking area to the hotel tower elevators. Starbucks and shopping on the lower level which is convenient. Restaurant is average at best. No room service on the days I was there. Their wireless internet did not work while I was there, although they did charge me for it.”

“Not bad, but I think I got put in one of the bad rooms. At the last second the front desk guy said, "Wait, I have you in the wrong room." Then he reassigned me into another room. It was still okay.”

“The hotel staff could care less about me being stuck with a hypo needle in there hotel garage. They actually said how do we know that came from our garage than they finally admitted they had drug dealing in the area.”

• Very nice exercise room and comfy beds.
• That the toilet paper holder was broken and the paint was peeling and rusty in the bathroom.

“Good to great in all categories, with the exception of the bathroom. I didn't expect to have a broken toilet paper holder in a four star hotel nor have rusty peeling ceiling in the bathroom. Everything else was fine. The parking was difficult to understand as it says bank of America on it and there are no signs telling you what to do. The staff had to come out and tell you what to do. The food was good in the restaurant. I enjoyed it.”

• It is centrally located.
• Housekeeping came and knocked and on the door and tried to come in the room at 8 in the morning.

“Definitely set up for business travelers. Not all that kid friendly. The staff had no recommendation for breakfast (there is a great place down the street on College) nor did they know about Rays Splash Planet less than a mile away. Room was comfortable and clean.”

“Hotel was clean and had great room service food. Deluxe rooms (king bed) were adequately sized, however somewhat dated, needed some upgrades. For instance, sliding doors on the closet were falling off and difficult to move, linens were not what I would expect from a "luxury" hotel. Overall, a nice hotel.”

“This hotel was the official hotel for the UConn Husky/ Meineke Bowl Week. Everyone was very friendly and the place was very convenient to everything in Downtown Charlotte. Room was very tastefully done, parking was convenient and reasonable, and we were very pleased with the service.”

To keep me happy and not create a scene they changed to non smoking rooms. Unless you can tell me that you are changing your policy. I won't be using you again.”

“We would have been very unhappy had we paid the full rack rate for this hotel. It definitely did not live up to our experience of other four star hotels (we've stayed at least three in the past year). The staff seemed new to charlotte themselves and many lacked basic customer service skills. The food at the hotel was absolutely awful, and when we asked the concierge for a recommendation for a good local pizza, he told us to call papa johns.”

• Expected to pay for most services that give this hotel a 4 star rating. Not impressed by availability  expensive.

“I feel the star rating for this hotel is grossly overrated. However, I feel this might be an attribute of many "4 star" hotels. It may offer several services that elevate its status, but you have to pay for nearly all of them. I was not impressed by the mere availability of them. The ride to the airport even cost more than a regular taxi ride and the experience was no different. The staff was friendly and provided adequate service. I was a little disappointed in the room we stayed in. The bathroom was tiny (I barely had room to shut the door) and the whole room seemed dated. I enjoyed the design, however, which gave us probably 25' of window, but the bathroom definitely suffered because of it. The hotel has a very convenient location in "uptown" charlotte, which is appropriate for business travelers. Hopefully cost is not an issue. It is my opinion that this hotel is certainly not suited for most families or leisure travelers. I would only recommend this hotel to travelers similar to me if they had to stay in the uptown area and could get a discount like I did. A hotel with clean, updated rooms is more important to me than an expensive array of services.”

• The location was awesome. Beautifully decorated.
• Cost of breakfast was too expensive but that is what is to be expected.

“The hotel was very nice. Parking deck was connected to the hotel which was very convenient. The hotel was in the same building as a small mall with a few shops and restaurants. It was also connected to Founders Hall by a walkway over the street. We stayed in December and had a wonderful view of Founders Hall Christmas lights and decorations. We would love to stay again if we get the opportunity.”

“This was a very nice hotel; the rooms are nicely remodeled and updated. Because this is not a new hotel, the doors to the hotel rooms are older original doors, so they are a little thin (but this seems to be an issue with many older hotels that have been refurbished as I have learned through my travels). You are in walking distance to some restaurants. The hotel is located right across the street from the bank of America headquarters I believe. There is a self parking charge of $12 a night and a $10 Wi-Fi for 24 hours.”

• Their parking garage, I thought it should be a little better lit.

“The hotel was conveniently located near all the good restaurants and some nice bars. The staff and concierge were friendly and agreeable. The meal from their restaurant was top notch. We are considering back while they have the argentine menu it was wonderful. The bed was a dream and the room was tastefully decorated and we a had nice view of the city. Great for a weekend getaway!”
