  • The staff was very accommodating.
  • The beds are very uncomfortable.

“The double bed rooms in this hotel are consistent with those of a 2 1/2 start to 3 star hotels. It is unbeatable that this hotel is not a 4 star hotel. Luckily there were king size beds available and these rooms are a bit better but if you are one of the unlucky ones who gets stuck in a double which is what most of the hotel is, then you will be sorely disappointed. The countertop in the bathroom was mid thigh high. I am 6 feet tall. The beds were exceptionally uncomfortable and the room size was cramped. The windows were small and dirty and the TV was also very small. The furniture was outdated and the rooms smelled very musty and old. If you are naming your price in this hotel range is weary that this hotel is what will likely be chosen for you because the west in, Hilton, and omni are all much nicer and will most likely not grant the lowest price. In fairness the location was unbeatable and the staff made their best effort to accommodate my disappointment. If you like star bucks coffee this hotel has one in the lobby. That was very convenient.”

“Be aware! There was a woman who was pretending to be an attendant for the parking garage and as we were driving in to park (11pm) she asked for the fee of $10. We later were told our room would be charged $12 for parking/day by the hotel staff. As you leave the parking garage, another woman requests payment as well. They need to get their act together for which we will collect payment! Also, they charge $10/day for internet access. That's ridiculous! We had free inet access when we stayed at Days inn, a 2 star hotel! Other than that, the hotel was very nice and clean. Great location!”

  • Overbooked (that weekend), limited parking.

“Centrally located in downtown charlotte. Within walking distance of major banking centers, restaurant and cultural centers. It's a beautiful 'walking' city with a great selection of upscale chain and local restaurants. There's a growing cultural hub and many areas where you can sit outside and read or eat. Parking being the only issue. A real pleasant surprise.”

  • Location is great, staff amazingly friendly.
  • The sports rest./bar is first come first serve on seating we were kicked out of 5 table b-4 we got a seat.

“Minus the staff at Champions" this was an amazing bargain and such a fun location. View wasnt the greatest but I was with my 8 yr old nephew and he was more stoked that we were on the floor where the pool was. (5th). Great Experience!”

  • Very outdated. Charging for bottled water. Should be complimentary.

“I guess I was expecting a more updated room. I didn't have my glasses on at the time and there was a bottle of water by the ice bucket. There was a tag on it but I truly thought it was an advertisement. I did not realize you had to pay 4 dollars for it. I don't travel that often and I thought this was tacky. It should have been in a locked refrigerator. We then stayed at another Marriott chain than I thought had more amenities (microwave, more reasonable dining prices, a fridge). It was a 3 star but I actually liked it better.”

  • Champions restaurant, needed dressing table, drink machine off at 11:00pm, no vending machine. No 24hr room service, no shuttle service.

“I have stayed at a hotel that was rated lower and it offered more to the guest in approx the same area. Main restaurant was to expensive. Smoking lounge where you could order food & drink was same food from expensive restaurant. Champions we were served on paper plates and the food was like fast food. Room needed a dressing table so you can get ready even if someone is in bathroom. No shuttle service. Town car service that was more expensive than cab. You can not get food or drink in hotel after 11:00. No room service and the drink machines are turned off at 11:00pm because of noise. There are no snack (vending) machines. I would not stay here again when I can get within $10 of same price and have more options and not the feeling they are trying to get every dime they can out of you while you are there. Very disappointed.”

  • The Savannah Red restaurant. Excellent.
  • They need to replace the mattresses. The bedding was nice however the mattresses were terrible.

  • The downtown area is a ghost town on the weekends, everything is closed.

“The quality of the hotel is good. The rooms were spacious enough and the furnishings were nice. The restaurants were good which is important since during the weekends nearly every restaurant in the downtown is closed. The workout facilities were fairly well equipped.”

“The Marriott Charlotte City Center is extremely convenient and close to all of the amenities of uptown Charlotte. The service was great, but the rooms were not exceptional. I was incorrectly billed by Marriott for my stay at the hotel for almost $600. I spoke to several people in customer service; some were excellent and one in particular was very rude. My stay at the hotel was great and the bill was cleared up without too much hassle.”

  • The facilities staff was very attentive. Everything we needed was onsite. Will definitely go back. We highly recommended.
  • We were initially put in a handicap accessible room with a soaking wet chair.

“We had a minor problem with a wet chair upon check-in. However, the facilities staff quickly checked out the situation and located us to another beautiful, comfortable, very clean room. We were very satisfied with our stay. Marriott City Center Charlotte was wonderful.”

“We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room at the Marriott. The room was very large and well appointed. Instead of a "modern" feel, the room had more of an "inn" feel, and the bedding was superb!”

  • The Marriott member only lounge was closed on Thursday? Why no cookies at the counter?
