“It was cool. The people there were really nice.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Eddie from Norcross, GA
“The hotel is well furnished, clean and evidently well run. It is an older hotel, and due to its Downtown location is incredibly noisy. A club or something across the street played music till the wee hours, and it was like we were in the room. Noise is the only complaint. But it was significant. I wouldn't care to stay there again because of it.” Jul 22, 2008 by
Vicki from Santee, SC
“This hotel has been upgraded it seems, the room was very large. It was on a corner on Friday night in Downtown, it was noisy, but. The hotel was a great location for walking to several nice restaurants and bars. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful!” Jul 7, 2008 by
Shannon from Coral Gables, FL
“Friendly, centrally located. Definitely will use this hotel again. We had a great time. Thanks for making this happen so we could celebrate our engagement with my family and friends.” Jul 3, 2008 by
Natalie from Greensburg, PA
“This hotel was top quality and would especially be great for business travelers and couples. Great amenities. Easy access to anything in the city. It was not very child friendly. There were too many expensive and unsafe things placed around the room. The location is inconvenient for vacation travelers. Parking is up the street or valet only. A continental breakfast would have made the stay easier.” Jun 27, 2008 by
Alan from Cary, NC
“This is a great place to stay if you want to spend some serious dollars on amenities that are complimentary at less expensive venues.” Jun 5, 2008 by
David from Brentwood, TN
“Great for city access, clean and secure.” Jun 4, 2008 by
Michael S. from Valdese, NC
“Nice hotel in the heart of uptown Charlotte. Tons of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Indoor pool and hot tub were nice. My girlfriend and I had not been to Charlotte in a few years. We came in on a Saturday and during the day remarked how calm and quiet the city seemed. We went to a play at the Blumenthal and by the time the play ended, the street were packed! The lines for some of the clubs were wrapped around the corner! We had to walk around for a while just to find a regular bar with two open seats. All in all, a great little vacation at a great hotel.” May 20, 2008 by
Sina from Morrisville, NC
“Good, central location in Charlotte. The check-in was quick and the room comfortable. Breakfast in restaurant was ok. I had expected a bit more from a 4* hotel.” May 7, 2008 by
Jon from Taylors, SC
“I would recommend this hotel to someone who is looking for a nice clean, classy place to stay. I went to Charlotte on a leisure trip with my girlfriend, and we both loved the hotel. The food was good at their sports bar, Champions, the room service was quick, and that food was also good. The only downside to the hotel was the rooms were small, and the accommodations inside the room were outdated.” May 7, 2008 by
Greg from Wilmington, NC
“Great location of downtown on the square in Charlotte. Located in a high rise office tower, there are many amenities available. The rooms are average and older needing upgrades available at like rated hotels, i.e.. flat screens, updated furniture, art.” May 7, 2008 by
Betty from Boston, MA
“The hotel was nice and clean and was in the right location.” May 6, 2008 by
Cathy from Willow Springs, NC
“The hotel stay was great. We traveled with our ten year old son. He had a great time. The hotel is right in uptown Charlotte. The only thing was there were a few restaurants in the hotel. But, none of them were family friendly after 7 or 8 p.m. The staff was very helpful in telling us where we could walk for dinner. The other great thing is there pool is open until 11pm. So, it was great to go swimming after dinner. I will stay there again the next time we go to Charlotte.” May 1, 2008 by
Brian from Saluda, NC
“Great hotel and great staff. Very clean and nice rooms.” Apr 30, 2008 by
Michael from Lakeland, FL
“Hotel staff was friendly and room was clean. Centrally located, though Parking seemed a bit steep, and at times was "Full". Decor is very old and is in desperate need of an update.” Apr 28, 2008 by
John from Weston, CT
“Would be perfect for business travel if they had free internet in rooms and common areas.” Apr 23, 2008 by
Glenn from Maple Hts, OH
“Nice, clean conveniently located but need to assess outside lobby traffic and parking. Otherwise I was satisfied.” Apr 20, 2008 by
Teneka from Southfield, MI
“It was a excellent hotel. Good location to everything. Staff was very friendly. I love the hotel. Nice, clean.” Apr 11, 2008 by
Chanteal from Raleigh, NC

“Great.” Apr 10, 2008 by
Tracy from Union Mills, NC
“Staff was friendly and rooms were clean. I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends.” Mar 13, 2008 by
Carrie from Gastonia, NC
“Staff was extremely pleasant and helpful, the hotel was very nice. We enjoyed the clean, spacious room and appreciated the quietness-we could not hear other guests on the floor.” Mar 12, 2008 by
Krissy from Kernersville, NC
“Nice hotel that is convenient to downtown Charlotte. Nice lobby and comfortable beds! Parking is close but $12 per night.” Mar 7, 2008 by
Bill from Mt. Pleasant, SC
“Perhaps I don't understand the star system, but in my opinion if a hotel gets 4 stars with 5 being best, it should be pretty fantastic. Marriott offers a really small room with no perks. As a matter of fact, internet access was not free. The bottled water was not included, and even the TV was all about selling something. It was like being nickled and dimed every time you turn around. So we treaded lightly and kept our incidentals to a minimum. For me, it wasn't a 4 star experience (the room itself or the staff) I have stayed in Comfort suites that offered more bang for the buck. Free wireless, bigger rooms, etc.” Feb 22, 2008 by
Jeff from Cambridge, WI
“Great hotel, I will stay there again.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Sandra from Cumming, GA
“Good location & great indoor pool.” Feb 20, 2008 by
Amber from Archdale, NC
“My husband and I stayed and enjoyed it. We had a huge craving for cheesecake at 11 PM and Champions had a cheesecake slice that was wonderful! Starbucks lovers, there is a small coffee bar in the actual hotel by the lobby! The parking was even pretty nice-you had to pay, but it was very convenient! Small, but clean rooms with Bath and Body Works goodies in the restrooms.” Feb 12, 2008 by
Phil from Morgan Hill, CA
“The Staff are friendly and always willing to help. The Hotel is centrally located, clean and well maintained.” Feb 8, 2008 by
Barbara from Spartanburg, SC
“I would have given it an overall rating much better had the food been better. We ate at all three restaurants, breakfast, dinner and dessert and found all three to have very disappointing food. The chili at dinner tasted like it was canned, the eggs benedict was overcooked and the sauce tasted old and the dessert took about 30 minutes to get and there was only one other couple in the restaurant. Because of our schedule we needed to eat in the hotel and we were extremely disappointed.” Jan 31, 2008 by
Wesley from Newport News, VA
“Loved the location and staff were very on point. Hotel was vice and clean felt like home away from home.” Jan 27, 2008 by
Ron from Irvine, CA
“Excellent business hotel for Downtown Charlotte, but they should include wireless internet access in the base rate rather than an additional charge.” Jan 24, 2008 by
Kenny from College Station, TX
“A lot of people reviewing the hotel claim that it has really hard beds, and I think they are probably right, but I sleep on a futon at home so I'll pretty much take anything. We parked across the street and around the corner for $5 over the weekend, but at great risk of being towed. Fortunately, didn't happen. The staff never went out of their way to help us, but were always courteous and told me what I needed to know if I approached them. Breakfast was fantastic but overpriced. Dinner in Champions was surprisingly reasonable and quite good. The hot tub is very nice, but it's tough to do much in the pool. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay and I got exactly what I was expecting.” Jan 23, 2008 by
Junahlyn from Forest City, NC
“My boyfriend and I absolutely had a great time during our stay. Even though we were only there for one night, we were treated very well by all the staff with punctuality and courtesy. The room was clean and the bedding was superb. The location was perfect because after a long night we were able to get back to the hotel quickly and easily. Our stay was a perfect touch to a perfect weekend.” Jan 23, 2008 by
Earleen from Pulaski, VA
“Only in town for a week end but I can say that this hotel is in great location in the downtown area. very nice restaurants in walking distance The staff very friendly and helpful large rooms great king size bed very comfortable and a great view of the city I would recommend this hotel. If you smoke cigars you have to check-out the cigar bar scooters very nice.” Jan 23, 2008 by
Theresa from Portsmouth, NH
“For location and convenience, the hotel is great! However, it is an older hotel and is rather noisy. You can easily hear neighbors (next door and upstairs). Also, for the price, there is no free continental breakfast included and the water pressure in the shower is non-existent.” Jan 17, 2008 by
Jim from Columbus, OH
“Quality hotel with excellent location.” Jan 16, 2008 by
Dannette from Hempstead, NY
“The service was excellent. The rooms was nice and clean.” Jan 4, 2008 by
David from Lakewood, NY
“Charlotte Marriott City Center is a nice hotel. I would describe it as a very nice 3-star upscale business class hotel, but it doesn't rise to the level of being a 4-star deluxe hotel in on the order of a Ritz, Mandarin or Renaissance. The location is perfect if you are going to see a show at the Blumenthal Center. Very helpful staff gave us great off-site restaurant recommendations, and moved us to a top-floor room.” Dec 22, 2007 by
Erika from Clover, SC
“Friendly staff, horrible parking, had dinner and drinks at champions the food was ok and the service was slow.” Dec 13, 2007 by
Dia from Winston-Salem, NC
“Great location, great accommodations. However, lots of loud partying in the halls late into the night and can hear into other rooms easily.” Nov 23, 2007 by
Bryan from Raleigh, NC
“The double bed rooms in this hotel are consistent with those of a 2 1/2 start to 3 star hotels. It is unbeatable that this hotel is not a 4 star hotel. Luckily there were king size beds available and these rooms are a bit better but if you are one of the unlucky ones who gets stuck in a double which is what most of the hotel is, then you will be sorely disappointed. The countertop in the bathroom was mid thigh high. I am 6 feet tall. The beds were exceptionally uncomfortable and the room size was cramped. The windows were small and dirty and the TV was also very small. The furniture was outdated and the rooms smelled very musty and old. If you are naming your price in this hotel range is weary that this hotel is what will likely be chosen for you because the west in, Hilton, and omni are all much nicer and will most likely not grant the lowest price. In fairness the location was unbeatable and the staff made their best effort to accommodate my disappointment. If you like star bucks coffee this hotel has one in the lobby. That was very convenient.” Nov 20, 2007 by
Melissa from Reno, NV
“Gorgeous hotel in the perfect Downtown location. Well staffed with friendly, very helpful employees. Inexpensive room service food of excellent quality. Great town car service that is only a couple of dollars more than a taxi.” Nov 19, 2007 by
Frank from Kernersville, NC
“Good business location. I felt like they place few customers in the less desirable rooms.” Nov 14, 2007 by
Stacey from Alpharetta, GA
“Be aware! There was a woman who was pretending to be an attendant for the parking garage and as we were driving in to park (11pm) she asked for the fee of $10. We later were told our room would be charged $12 for parking/day by the hotel staff. As you leave the parking garage, another woman requests payment as well. They need to get their act together for which we will collect payment! Also, they charge $10/day for internet access. That's ridiculous! We had free inet access when we stayed at Days inn, a 2 star hotel! Other than that, the hotel was very nice and clean. Great location!” Oct 25, 2007 by
Kimberly from Robbinsdale, MN
“Centrally located in downtown charlotte. Within walking distance of major banking centers, restaurant and cultural centers. It's a beautiful 'walking' city with a great selection of upscale chain and local restaurants. There's a growing cultural hub and many areas where you can sit outside and read or eat. Parking being the only issue. A real pleasant surprise.” Oct 23, 2007 by
Bob from Lenoir, NC
“Fresh, clean, and conveniently located, with a friendly and helpful staff.” Oct 4, 2007 by
John from Seymour, TN
“Excellent room in a convenient location in downtown Charlotte. Four Star room at an excellent price. Will check this hotel again on next trip to Charlotte.” Oct 4, 2007 by
Jeff from Fletcher, NC
“Overall it was a good experience. However, I would not call it a four star hotel.” Oct 3, 2007 by
Lori from Knoxville, TN
“Minus the staff at Champions" this was an amazing bargain and such a fun location. View wasnt the greatest but I was with my 8 yr old nephew and he was more stoked that we were on the floor where the pool was. (5th). Great Experience!” Sep 27, 2007 by
Tony from Boiling Springs, SC
“The beds there truly bad.”
