“Perfect location downtown Charlotte - clean, newly remodeled rooms - lobby and restaurant under renovations. Parking costs $18 per day - would stay again.” Apr 15, 2008 by
Becky from Versailles, KY
“Very comfortable and attractive, staff is friendly and helpful.” Apr 10, 2008 by
Robert from Doraville, GA
“Not a bad hotel but no where near 4 star. The room service is spotty, the concierge a joke, the health club is permission to borrow they YMCA and kids cannot use the pool most of the time.” Apr 9, 2008 by
Craig from Grand Blanc, MI
“Nice hotel in downtown Charlotte. You will pay dearly for parking or room service. All extras are extremely expensive. Otherwise a very nice hotel with good service.” Apr 5, 2008 by
Michael from Fayetteville, NC
“I never knew a 4 star hotel only had one person working there at night. If you like inconvenience then go to this hotel. It was literally one of the worst hotel experiences of my life.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Mar 30, 2008 by

“The overall stay was good. There is a lot of construction going on.” Mar 29, 2008 by
Betsy from Rochester, NY
“This newly renovated hotel was clean, quiet and beds were very comfortable. We took advantage of the pool at the YMCA although we were disappointed that it closed early on Sat. (before Easter). We found free parking across the street for the weekend days, which was very nice.” Mar 27, 2008 by
Summer from Richmond, VA
“Overall, I was rather pleased with this hotel. The location was outstanding. The staff was very helpful and the room was clean and comfortable.” Mar 26, 2008 by
Stephen from West Columbia, SC
“Great service at front desk, the room design was not impressive.” Mar 25, 2008 by
Frank from Belleville, IL
“This hotel is well located for downtown Charlotte attractions such as the Mint Craft Museum and for the Bank of America and Wachovia headquarters. There is some renovation occurring, but the rooms are very well appointed.” Mar 13, 2008 by
Faith from Inman, SC
“I am extremely particular about hotels - all the horror stories of uncleanliness - this was our second time staying at that hotel. The first time, we had to call for maintenance to come and unstop the shower - yuk! I didn't like standing in stale water - left from a previous guest - YUK! However, it's a typical 4-star hotel - it works for an overnight stay.” Mar 11, 2008 by
Timothy from High Point, NC
“The hotel was great I would love 2 stay there again.” Mar 8, 2008 by
Daniel from Monroe, NC
“Clean, hospitable, with a friendly staff that completely answered all my questions. Everything was clearly marked and easily accessible, something that made it effortless to come back to after a night out.” Mar 7, 2008 by
Pamela from Spartanburg, SC
“It was a nice hotel but need to work on your staff attitude we as paying customers don't deserve rude help.” Feb 28, 2008 by
David from Hopkinsville, KY
“Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and the furnishings were very nice, but the room was a bit small. Most definitely will stay there again.” Feb 26, 2008 by
Marianne from Indian Trail, NC
“The hotel was wonderful except for the maid the morning of our stay. Instead of propping open the door in the room next to us while she cleaned, she let it continually bang. We were without kids and trying to sleep in a little. That made it impossible.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Will from Winston Salem, NC
“Hotel itself was beautiful, however from the moment I arrived, it was a nightmare. The ride up the elevator took 15 minutes (a fencing tournament had been scheduled and literally hundreds of kids were going up and down the elevators, hitting all the buttons). When I and my pregnant wife finally got to the room, the keys issued did not work. We were on the 16th floor so I had to spend 15 minutes riding back down the elevator, stand in line to get a new set of keys, then another 15 minutes riding up the elevator, all the while my wife standing in the hallway in front of our room. Then, the second set of keys did not work. Security had to come up, let us in and then go get a new set of keys for us. We ended up missing our reservation for dinner and the only repercussion was that a bowl with 2 bananas, an apple, some grapes, and orange was sent to our room as an apology. In addition, the bar was completely shut down and a makeshift bar was set up in a lobby, and the breakfast buffet was set up in a conference room-apparently the restaurant was under renovations. All in all, this was definitely nowhere near the Hilton experience that I have been accustomed to in the past. Disappointing on almost all levels.” Feb 13, 2008 by
Holly from Chapel Hill, NC
“Comfortable rooms with lovely beds and very nice bathrooms. Wood paneling in public areas needs refurbishment and meals are held in a temporary ballroom. Typical ridiculous.” Feb 12, 2008 by
Beth from Hickory, NC
“The Hilton Center City was both comfortable and stylish. Our guest room was immaculate and well-appointed. Amenities at the hotel were top notch from the hair dryer and flat-screen television in the room to the restaurant quality, available business services and fitness facilities. Our stay was great and the only thing we felt they could improve upon in each guest room would be to provide a mini fridge or mini bar we were disappointed that our guest room had neither. The location (even though it is considered "center city") is about a three to four (3-4) block walk to all the popular Downtown restaurants, theaters and bars - far enough that if it is cold or in climate weather, it would require a cab ride. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely stay there again!” Feb 7, 2008 by
Eric from Herndon, VA
“Great Hotel will stay their again. $20.00 dollars a day to park not so good, should be free for 5 star hotel. Also internet cost 10.00 dollars a day come on should be free.” Jan 29, 2008 by
James from Gaffney, SC
“This place is under renovation and the parking fee especially during this time of renovation was outrageous to me.” Jan 19, 2008 by
Rajesh from Raleigh, NC
“This is a nice hotel overall. It is located in a convenient Downtown location and is interconnected to a few other buildings in the area.” Jan 17, 2008 by
Cathy from Travelers Rest, SC
“Hotel was renovating, so service was limited.” Jan 17, 2008 by
Justin from Grover, NC
“The hotel was on a super star status from the representatives professionalism, to luxurious rooms and views.” Jan 16, 2008 by
Reg from Pittsboro, NC
“Hotel is under renovation; public areas are third rate; hotel nickels and dimes you to death: $2 for a takeout cup of coffee; $10/day to use internet connection in your room; very overpriced drinks at the so-called cocktail lounge.” Jan 16, 2008 by
Phillip from Sioux Falls, SD
“Great Hotel and great price. The rooms were nice, clean and had large flat panel TVs. The only negative was the front desk staff. They were not trained to think for themselves but only repeat some corporate policy that did not apply which made checking in an unpleasant experience.” Jan 12, 2008 by
Jessica from Mebane, NC
“This hotel is recommended to all travelers. However, check to make sure there are no renovation projects. The location is convenient from the highway and nearby to lots of good downtown dining locations.” Jan 9, 2008 by
Emily from Tega Cay, SC
“Overall, this was a nice hotel.” Jan 8, 2008 by
Jay from Columbia, SC
“Very nice and perfectly placed in uptown Charlotte. Construction right now but should be finished in a few months. Staff was very helpful and placed us in a city view room immediately after making the mistake initially.” Jan 8, 2008 by
Eddie from Arleta, CA
“Great hotel even while under construction. The valet was never around and the parking was way over priced.” Jan 4, 2008 by
Richard from San Mateo, CA
“Room was recently remodeled and very nice. Entire lobby, restaurant, bar, lounge area was closed for construction. The stay would probably have been altered if we had prior knowledge.” Jan 2, 2008 by
Donald from Lincolnton, NC
“Because the hotel was going through renovations it should have lost the 4 star rating until they were complete!” Dec 28, 2007 by
Lionel from Ypsilanti, MI
“Great staff, clean facility. A great hotel. Excellent Downtown location. Perfect for the kids.” Dec 26, 2007 by
Ron M. from Florence, SC
“I booked a king size bed and was given a double. The room was not up to expectations. Some of the furnishings were unraveling or separating from their backing. I was not impressed nor shall I refer anyone to this hotel. I prefer the omni and will return there when I stay in charlotte.” Dec 19, 2007 by
Stephen from Owings Mills, MD
“Very nice hotel staff.” Dec 19, 2007 by
Alan from Thomasville, NC
“Once remodel is over, will be back to 4 stars in all aspects.” Dec 19, 2007 by
Bradley from Apex, NC
“Hotel was under reconstruction so the check in area was ghetto. The rest of the hotel was pretty nice. The rooms were nice but not romantic at all. The room could have been cleaner. The staff was very helpful in helping us find a restaurant in the Downtown area.” Dec 5, 2007 by
Mark from Summerville, SC
“My family and I were very pleased with our stay at the Hilton. All the amenities were up-to-date. I wish the hotel parking was free. We would like to stay at this hotel in the future.” Dec 5, 2007 by
Catherine from Chapel Hill, NC
“Very nice, updated rooms. Biggest drawback was they had no more king size beds when we arrived.” Nov 29, 2007 by
Chris from New Albany, OH
“Shouldn't be a 4-star while under construction/renovation.” Nov 28, 2007 by
Susan from Arlington, VA
“The hotel was in the midst of a renovation, so the common areas were still under construction, and they had a make-shift registration desk. The staff was friendly, and the location was convenient. The room was an odd shape, which was unique in a good way. The bathroom for some reason had a very odd echo, so it felt a little like everyone down the hall could hear everything that you did in the bathroom. This "feature" was probably unique to our room. The room had an odd smell to it. The hotel is non-smoking, but my guess is that this particular room had once been a smoking room. The most surprising thing was that there was no free internet access. We stayed in three Hilton hotels over the course of our mini-vacation. The other two hotels were not as expensive, and they still provided free internet access.” Nov 28, 2007 by
Kenya from Charlotte, NC
“Room was very nice and design was great. Flat screen was a nice surprise. Parking however was expensive and inconvenience.” Nov 27, 2007 by
M.W. J. from Jacksonville, FL
“This Hilton is going through renovations. The rooms are very nice, except mine had problems with the bathroom. The first day I was there, upon my return in the evening, my room had not been cleaned. They moved me to another room, and the room had bathroom issues. They credited me with the parking fees to compensate. The manager was very attentive to the problem. The elevators were not working also except for two of them. They had decided to paint the others over the Thanksgiving Holiday, why? There was a major "Pop Football" cheerleading extravaganza going on in Charlotte and the Hilton was booked. At times, you waited over 30 minutes to get an elevator.” Nov 22, 2007 by
Heather from Milwaukee, WI
“The hotel was great in location and aesthetics; however there were little things that could be improved to deserve the 4-star rating, such as having softer linens, a bathroom exhaust fan, and complimentary use of a fitness facility. I find it odd that a three star hotel would have a complimentary continental breakfast and fitness room; however, both of these require additional fees at the Hilton. The staff was professional, however was not willing to accommodate a late check out.” Nov 21, 2007 by
Gregory from Wilmington, NC
“Nicely and newly renovated in the middle of a large office building. Upscale appointments including new large LG flat screen television in the rooms.” Nov 15, 2007 by
Stuart from Charlotte, NC
“Bathroom was like my dorm room in college no actual bath. Faucet spouted so much water it was functionally useless. Closet had clothes bar about 2 feet from ground (all our clothes dragged). Paper thin walls. It took a lot of effort to set up internet connection. Hotel gym non existent; neighboring YMCA had overly limited hours on weekend.” Nov 15, 2007 by
Cindy from Charlotte, NC
“I was told that the hotel was booked and no king rooms were available. At check in around 4pm we inquired again, and were told there were no King rooms and that the hotel was completely booked; I asked if there might be a chance for a king if we didn't check in right then, and inquired again in a few hours after dinner. She readily agreed and "pre assigned" us a room with two beds that we didn't enter then. When we returned from dinner at 9pm and inquired again, a king room was available and we were cheerfully checked in. The room was elegantly furnished in a modern style with a sleek chaise lounge and very long desk the length of the room it was a half corner room and oddly shaped so that the king bed did not face the plasma TV, but was still visible from it. Overall elegant and comfortable, but slightly small and oddly configured.” Nov 14, 2007 by
Mark from Durham, NC
“While the rooms were pretty, they were small. Shower, but no tub. My biggest complaint would be the hidden prices. The hotel charged me $18 dollars for parking. Just in case you missed that I said $18 for parking! You want internet? Better add another $10 to that. I took my wife to the bar for a drink and we immediately left. Just because you are a hotel doesn't mean you can gouge people every chance you get. The prices were outrageous even for a hotel. Overall? Spend your money someone else.” Nov 8, 2007 by
Randy from Raleigh, NC
“The hotel is upscale but has absolutely no charm. It seemed more like an office than a hotel. Check-in is on the bottom floor and you have to take an elevator upstairs to the lobby. The bar was full of smoke, unpleasant and expensive. The rooms were recently renovated-with a plasma TV. There really wasn't anything wrong with the hotel itself, but it is not at all a warm place and certainly not romantic. It's just one more skyscraper in downtown Charlotte.” Nov 7, 2007 by
Rachel from Mt Pleasant, SC
“At first glance this is a great hotel. However there is little attention to detail and the right hand certainly doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Our bathroom hadn't been cleaned before we arrived. Unfortunately we know this because the last occupant must have been ill. We asked to be moved to another room. While we were waiting the front desk sent housekeeping and the supervisor then citied the housekeeper that made the mistake in front of us. We also had issues with a broken shower. The manager on duty did apologize, and gave us breakfast, but at that point it was way to little to late to make this a great Hilton experience for us.” Hotel Representatives:
