• Location was great.
• Bathroom was old and outdated, not very spacious, and the parking was inconvenient.

“We enjoyed our stay at the Westin, however I have stayed at lower star rated hotels that far exceed the Westin. Parking is $18 per day and they program lot access to your key card. This programming never worked so we were actually stuck in the parking lot for several minutes trying to get out. Overall, the staff wasn't too helpful, they didn't seem happy at all. But for the price, I was satisfied with my experience.”

• The most comfortable hotel bed ever!
• Expensive bar drinks; fees for internet, pool, and workout room.

“Traveling to Charlotte? Book a room at the Westin! Within walking distance of museums, restaurants, and bars (and close driving proximity to other attractions), this hotel dished out as much convenience as it did comfort. And boy was it comfortable! The "Heavenly Bed" couldn't boast a more apt name, and the double shower heads made me feel extra squeaky clean. Plus, the staff embodied friendliness and efficiency, adding an extra night to our stay in seconds and promptly addressing all of our questions and concerns. I've never stayed anywhere else in Charlotte, and after my weekend at the Westin, I don't think I ever will!”

“Overall a nice hotel with friendly staff. Parking was very easy cost $16 dollars per night I did not think it was overly expensive. There was also a nice workout facility and a swimming pool inside. I enjoyed my stay.”

• The hotel was very easy to find, and the view was great.
• The parking cost was high, the carpets were dirty and they charge guests to use the gym/pool.

“I was a little disappointed with our recent stay at the Westin, as was the couple traveling with us. The lobby was beautiful, but we all noticed that the carpets in the hallways and rooms were dirty. I thought it was odd for a four star hotel to charge guests to use the gym/pool. I would not stay at this particular hotel again. We had previously stayed at another four star hotel in the same area. This hotel did not live up to a four star rating.”

• The train was located at the hotel which was easy to ride and took you uptown which was very convenient for our needs.
• There is a lot of construction going on in the area which hindered the beauty of the hotel.

“The Westin was very upscale. Rooms were clean and well maintained as well as all other areas of the hotel. Beds were so comfortable, we slept great! Room service was prompt even thought they had warned us they were busy at the time and may take longer, it really didn't. Food was really good and arrived hot. The staff were all friendly and knowledgeable. It is an all non-smoking hotel which was nice. There were many restaurants and attractions within walking distance as well as the city train which stopped there at the hotel and was easy to ride.”

• Staff was extremely friendly.
• The bathroom was not up to standards. Both the sink and tub drain was not working. There was also no working exhaust fan in bathroom.

“The hotel was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was neat and clean. The restaurant was also excellent. The only negative was the bathroom. Both the sink and tub drains were not working. The exhaust fan was also not working which made showering a real challenge.”

• I loved the shower.
• That I couldn't stay longer.

“Due to a missed connection at the airport, I was only at the Westin for 5 hours. It was probably the best 5 hours of the week however. The shower was how showering in heaven must be and the bed was amazingly comfortable.”

“Location was great, and bedding is very comfortable. But room was not clean. Hair in shower, stain on sheets. Had to get room with 2 queens instead of king b/c one was not available. Requested housekeeping to bring more soap and they never came. Construction going on outside the hotel at nearby building woke us up in the morning.”

“It was a very nice hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The prices were a little much. You had to pay for all outgoing calls, internet, fitness room, etc. The hotel was mainly geared toward business travelers.”

• The size of the suite we received (after asking 3 times).
• That they charge for use of the pool!

“This hotel is centralized well enough for anyone needing to do business in downtown Charlotte, but is very difficult to get to otherwise. Though I was told that I was paying for everything upfront, I was charged $16 a day for self-parking and there was a $5 a person charge if you wanted to use the pool. This was a huge negative for us, as we were traveling on a budget with 5 people. The restaurants were too high-end and costly to take small children to, so we always had to leave the hotel for meals. I would not recommend this hotel for people traveling with children, but it would make an excellent romantic get-away.”

• The staff was very attentive. Our luggage was lost. The staff tried helping us find the luggage. They gave us free food/drinks for our young kids.
• They charged us extra to park in their parking garage. There was an additional fee to use the pool.

“The staff was very friendly. The lobby & bar area was nice with a kind of eclectic feel. The hotel was geared towards business people but at the same time it was kid friendly. The location of the hotel was convenient. Though not right in the middle of the restaurant/bar area, it was only a few blocks away.”

• Rooms were very well insulated between rooms and between floors.
• Not enough channels on the TV and I personally would've preferred a couch or chair to the in-room exercise bike.

“The Westin Charlotte was first class in every way. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the rooms were much better insulated than most hotels I've been in. You didn't hear showers running or toilets flushing and even a loud group in the room across the hall was less obtrusive than it would have been elsewhere. I needed a cab to the airport at 6:15 a.m. and the hotel had two town cars on the premises ready to go.”

• Finding out that the pool costs $5.00 per person.

“Very enjoyable from arrival and met and exceeded our expectations. As we enjoyed a night in charlotte, we had a great place to come back to, slept peacefully (no snoring from me) and woke to a beautiful sunrise. A great place to stay!”

• The Westin Charlotte is a beautiful hotel.
• The noise from the hallways and surrounding rooms during the evening disturbed my sleep both nights.

“The Westin Charlotte is a beautifully appointed, well located hotel. We did not like the heavenly bed that they claim makes them famous. The noise in the hallways and from other rooms kept our entire family from being able to sleep through the night. The maids were outside our door vacuuming the halls at 9 in the morning. The pool has a depth of 3.5 ft on one side and 4 ft. on the other.”

• Not the best in hailing or ordering cabs.

• The rooms and public areas were all very nice and the beds were to die for.
• The 20.00 a day valet parking.

“We had a wonderful time at the west in. Even though we were there over a bowl game and new years eve it was very quiet and you could rest, if that is what you wanted to do. The beds were amazing and as usual the bathrooms are better than most other hotels. We had a wonderful time.”

• They charged us for the room, even though it was prepaid.

“This is a very nice hotel within walking distance of several good restaurants. We received very good service at the bar the first night we arrived tired and hungry. Guests can eat at the bar from a "bar food" menu or from the full dining menu. We appreciated that feature.”

• I liked the location and the fitness room.
• There was a convention of some sort with many children running up and down the halls on Saturday.

“I thought this hotel was great and would stay there again. The rooms were big and comfortable, the location was within walking distance to downtown and everything I went to Charlotte for. I enjoyed the fitness room and the staff was wonderful.”

“Nothing fancy, but good enough for a comfortable sleep. Really liked the Sunday brunch and the convenience to the football stadium. Workout room is wonderful, but should be included in price (they charge $5 per person per day). Parking is expensive considering the area.”

• Very comfortable room and a great location. Very clean.
• The from dust clerk sent us to an occupied room at 1:30 am. Could have been bad.

“A really beautiful hotel with the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. We checked in late and they sold all the King rooms so We had two queens. That was not to bad because we were only there one night. They did however check us into a room at 1:30 in the morning that had a sleeping family in it. They were sorry and got us a different room. Nobody got shot so it was ok.”

“Hotel is about a 2 1/2 to 3 star hotel. Not 4 star. lobby and public areas are beautiful. But average rooms, nothing special to make the rooms 4 star. Also $20 parking is excessive for the hotel and area. ”

• The bed was phenomenal.
• We stayed on the 14th floor and the closest smoking section was downstairs at the outdoor entrance.

“The stay was very nice overall, the view was okay, and the room was wonderful. For what I paid for the room I would have expected a few more conveniences (vending machines, more TV channels) and possibly a better view. Our room was overlooking an abandoned parking lot.”

“One of the more luxurious hotels I've stayed at. Certainly convenient to the Convention Center next door, but I came to see Charlotte and as a leisure traveler it was perfect: walking distance to everything downtown, wonderful views and Ember, the restaurant was the best food I had on my trip to North Carolina.”

• The comfort of the room.
• Too pricey - $7 for a bowl of oatmeal?

“Nice hotel. Stayed away from room service and other amenities inside the hotel because of the cost. $20 per night to valet park ¿ agh!! $5 per person to use the pool and workout equipment? But, the hotel itself and the rooms were awesome.”

• Convenient to downtown, quiet, comfortable.
• It is on the edge of downtown, not central. They charge $5.00 to even use the pool, think that is a rip off.

“Nice quality hotel, comfortable rooms, bed and roomy bath on the edge of downtown. Right across from the convention center so great if you are going there, which we were. Nice bar, did not try the hotel.”

• The view from the 25th floor is breathtaking.
• For the rate we were charged I expected better food and service.

“The wife and I took a weekend getaway. The hotel is gorgeous but just outside the heart of uptown Charlotte. The staff was efficient but they were not nearly as personable or efficient as other 4-star hotels (Ritz Carlton, etc). The restaurant was deserted. They were out of a featured entries at 8:00 and the service there was sub-par. Great view and those Heavenly beds rock but certainly not a good value for the rate we got.”
