• The size of the suite we received (after asking 3 times).
• That they charge for use of the pool!

“This hotel is centralized well enough for anyone needing to do business in downtown Charlotte, but is very difficult to get to otherwise. Though I was told that I was paying for everything upfront, I was charged $16 a day for self-parking and there was a $5 a person charge if you wanted to use the pool. This was a huge negative for us, as we were traveling on a budget with 5 people. The restaurants were too high-end and costly to take small children to, so we always had to leave the hotel for meals. I would not recommend this hotel for people traveling with children, but it would make an excellent romantic get-away.”

• The staff was very attentive. Our luggage was lost. The staff tried helping us find the luggage. They gave us free food/drinks for our young kids.
• They charged us extra to park in their parking garage. There was an additional fee to use the pool.

“The staff was very friendly. The lobby & bar area was nice with a kind of eclectic feel. The hotel was geared towards business people but at the same time it was kid friendly. The location of the hotel was convenient. Though not right in the middle of the restaurant/bar area, it was only a few blocks away.”

• Rooms were very well insulated between rooms and between floors.
• Not enough channels on the TV and I personally would've preferred a couch or chair to the in-room exercise bike.

“The Westin Charlotte was first class in every way. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the rooms were much better insulated than most hotels I've been in. You didn't hear showers running or toilets flushing and even a loud group in the room across the hall was less obtrusive than it would have been elsewhere. I needed a cab to the airport at 6:15 a.m. and the hotel had two town cars on the premises ready to go.”

• The view from the room was great and the pool area was wonderful.
• Finding out that the pool costs $5.00 per person.

“Very enjoyable from arrival and met and exceeded our expectations. As we enjoyed a night in charlotte, we had a great place to come back to, slept peacefully (no snoring from me) and woke to a beautiful sunrise. A great place to stay!”

• The Westin Charlotte is a beautiful hotel.
• The noise from the hallways and surrounding rooms during the evening disturbed my sleep both nights.

“The Westin Charlotte is a beautifully appointed, well located hotel. We did not like the heavenly bed that they claim makes them famous. The noise in the hallways and from other rooms kept our entire family from being able to sleep through the night. The maids were outside our door vacuuming the halls at 9 in the morning. The pool has a depth of 3.5 ft on one side and 4 ft. on the other.”

• I liked the cleanliness of the room.
• Parking was much more than I expected ($22/day).

• Most beautiful exterior I¿ve ever seen.
• Not the best in hailing or ordering cabs.

• The rooms and public areas were all very nice and the beds were to die for.
• The 20.00 a day valet parking.

“We had a wonderful time at the west in. Even though we were there over a bowl game and new years eve it was very quiet and you could rest, if that is what you wanted to do. The beds were amazing and as usual the bathrooms are better than most other hotels. We had a wonderful time.”

• They charged us for the room, even though it was prepaid.

“This is a very nice hotel within walking distance of several good restaurants. We received very good service at the bar the first night we arrived tired and hungry. Guests can eat at the bar from a "bar food" menu or from the full dining menu. We appreciated that feature.”

• I liked the location and the fitness room.
• There was a convention of some sort with many children running up and down the halls on Saturday.

“I thought this hotel was great and would stay there again. The rooms were big and comfortable, the location was within walking distance to downtown and everything I went to Charlotte for. I enjoyed the fitness room and the staff was wonderful.”

“Nothing fancy, but good enough for a comfortable sleep. Really liked the Sunday brunch and the convenience to the football stadium. Workout room is wonderful, but should be included in price (they charge $5 per person per day). Parking is expensive considering the area.”

• Charge for Internet, Parking, coffee, etc. (lots of extra charges).

“When asking for anything specific, the request is turned down flatly (i.e. king bed, etc.). No one like to feel like a second class citizen.”

• Very comfortable room and a great location. Very clean.
• The from dust clerk sent us to an occupied room at 1:30 am. Could have been bad.

“A really beautiful hotel with the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. We checked in late and they sold all the King rooms so We had two queens. That was not to bad because we were only there one night. They did however check us into a room at 1:30 in the morning that had a sleeping family in it. They were sorry and got us a different room. Nobody got shot so it was ok.”

“Hotel is about a 2 1/2 to 3 star hotel. Not 4 star. lobby and public areas are beautiful. But average rooms, nothing special to make the rooms 4 star. Also $20 parking is excessive for the hotel and area. ”

• The bed was phenomenal.
• We stayed on the 14th floor and the closest smoking section was downstairs at the outdoor entrance.

“The stay was very nice overall, the view was okay, and the room was wonderful. For what I paid for the room I would have expected a few more conveniences (vending machines, more TV channels) and possibly a better view. Our room was overlooking an abandoned parking lot.”

“One of the more luxurious hotels I've stayed at. Certainly convenient to the Convention Center next door, but I came to see Charlotte and as a leisure traveler it was perfect: walking distance to everything downtown, wonderful views and Ember, the restaurant was the best food I had on my trip to North Carolina.”

“Nice hotel. Stayed away from room service and other amenities inside the hotel because of the cost. $20 per night to valet park ¿ agh!! $5 per person to use the pool and workout equipment? But, the hotel itself and the rooms were awesome.”

• It is on the edge of downtown, not central. They charge $5.00 to even use the pool, think that is a rip off.

“Nice quality hotel, comfortable rooms, bed and roomy bath on the edge of downtown. Right across from the convention center so great if you are going there, which we were. Nice bar, did not try the hotel.”

• The view from the 25th floor is breathtaking.
• For the rate we were charged I expected better food and service.

“The wife and I took a weekend getaway. The hotel is gorgeous but just outside the heart of uptown Charlotte. The staff was efficient but they were not nearly as personable or efficient as other 4-star hotels (Ritz Carlton, etc). The restaurant was deserted. They were out of a featured entries at 8:00 and the service there was sub-par. Great view and those Heavenly beds rock but certainly not a good value for the rate we got.”

• Very pet friendly, very clean, nice friendly staff.
• Had to use bell hops could not carry own bags.

“Very clean up to date nice staff and very pet friendly. Drinks are a bit pricey but did not mind paying because of service I received. Wonderful hotel! They even had stroller for guest to use so I didn't need to pack mine, and also dog leashes and collars and dog beds for guest to use too! We are planning our next trip there! We loved it!”

“This is the second time that I've stayed here and each stay has been very satisfactory. It's close to downtown museums and entertainment with easy access to major thoroughfares that take you quickly across town. I want to stay there every time I visit Charlotte.”

• The location was great and the valet attendants were very helpful.
• You had to pay extra to use their swimming pool.

“I wouldn't recommend. I asked housekeeping for clean coffee cups and was told she'd be glad to "rinse" ours out for us. You have to pay extra to use the swimming and work out facilities. I think for the price you pay to stay someplace like this, that should be included. The restaurants were way over priced. Otherwise, the hotel was clean.”

Remember also this is a non-smoking facility and they'll charge you $200 if they find any evidence that you've smoked in the room. ”

• The location was fantastic, to be close to the airport but in the middle of the downtown life was great!
• I do not have any dislikes! The Westing is a pleasure.

“The attention to detail at the Westing in Charlotte is second to none. I had a special request for a special evening and it was supported beyond my expectations. This trip was for business with a short time for pleasure and the Westing made both parts of my trip perfect. Thank-you and we will see you again!”

“You got it. Nobody likes surprises like #14. The pool's on the website with no mention of an admission charge. $15.00 is ridiculous (and that's self-park) after the fact in a town where $6.00 is the norm.”

• Long line at check-in (too popular).

“Great location at the edge of downtown. Hotel was spotless, rooms were large and comfortable. I cross my fingers and hope for Westins. I feel they are the best business hotels around. Staff was friendly and the bar was great for unwinding.”

• Very beautiful, clean, rooms well appointed.
• I asked for a list of things in Honor bar, it took 2 phone calls and almost 2 hours to get it.

“Upon arriving at this beautifully designed hotel, you feel wrapped in elegance. The lobby is very large and the decor is lovely. The guest rooms are just what you would expect from a great hotel like the Westin.”

• The location is excellent. The restaurant, Ember Grill was fabulous.
• The fact that the workout room was an added expense.

“This sleek addition to the Charlotte skyline is a wonderful place to stay. The employees were all professional and friendly and the housekeeping staff never blinked when we didn't vacate the room till after 2PM each day we were there. There are tons of restaurants in the area, but the in house dining was top notch. I would stay again.”

• The hotel had everything, great room, decor was great, great view, and nice amenities.
• The staff refilled my in room refreshments an hour before I left. They should have waited until I checked out and not bothered me.

• Very nice property, great location and friendly staff. Best hotel and location in the Charlotte market.
• There was a billing error. However I am confident the hotel will resolve the issue.

• The view of uptown was amazing.
• Check-in staff was a little short with me. Seemed like I was bothering her.

“Other than the check-in staff, everything was perfect. Comfortable beds with a great view of the city. I would stay there again.”

• finding your way in can be tricky (one way streets)

“Highly recommended. Our portable phone did not work. When we reported it, the phone was replaced and we were both given a comp 1-hour massage in the spa. Nice touch.”

• The carpets in the lobby and the halls were not very clean
