• Beds were ultra comfy. Staff was helpful/professional. Towncars were a luxurious touch. Location was nearly perfect.
• Disappointed there was no balcony or hot tub.

“I very much enjoyed my stay at the Doubletree Hotel in Charlotte, NC. The location was nearly perfect, a very short walk to the Square Downtown (just a couple of blocks away). The staff was very friendly and helpful giving great advice in any area we asked. One gentleman in particular arranged a town car for us to take downtown instead of a taxi. This made our first night in Charlotte a bit more luxurious and exciting. I will definitely stay at this hotel again and recommend it to others.”

• High prices in the bar, and wasn't told about a 50 dollar damage deposit up front.

• It was in a good location. It was convent to the activities we did. It is near the panther's stadium and the night life.
• The parking for the hotel was ten dollars a day. As a guest
  I would think that parking would be free.

“Great staff, a very comfortable room, even a complimentary cookie made this hotel a great choice if you are in the area for either the Carolina Panthers or Charlotte Bobcats games. Hotel was also convenient for travel to NWA Charlotte pro wrestling as it was 10 minutes from the hotel.”

• The parking lot location was annoying.

“I appreciated the hotel, it's location, it's rooms and it's service. There seemed to be a little bit of an expense for everything. I would have appreciated a bit of breakfast for less than 14 dollars, but other than that, GREAT!”

• It was nice looking room with easy parking access.
• It was noisy and
  no bathroom exhaust fan.

“If the walls were thicker we wouldn’t have heard the people in the rooms next to ours talking and using the bathroom. Need a blanket that is not as thick as a comforter. And doors that don’t slam so hard and noisy would help. The setting was very nice and the room looked inviting. But I wouldn’t stay again due to noisiness.”

• The hotel was in a business area but close to downtown & cafe's, etc. Very beautiful decorating. Didn't use but pool too.
• Would have preferred to know about the $10/night parking fee.

“Room very nicely decorated, upscale with large bath. All bedding & towels were of finer type, with lots of extra pillows. The lobby was also very nice. Snuggled in an area close to downtown but very safe & clean. Johnson & Wales culinary college & some office buildings nearby. No valet, but parking deck attached. Didn't have time to use but outdoor pool & workout room available. The people who worked in the hotel all smiled & said hi, but that's more North Carolina typical everywhere, but nice all the same.”

“The Doubletree downtown Charlotte is a lovely and comfortable hotel with many fine amenities suitable for the business or leisure traveler. We enjoyed the convenience to the stadium as we watched a Panthers football game and were able to walk there.”

• I liked the friendly atmosphere of the hotel and the soft, warm cookie upon arrival.
• The awkward placement of the toilet.

“Comfortable, clean, great location, very good price, I had to leave very early for a business meeting one morning. The problem was that the hotel didn't start serving breakfast till 6 am. The staff had a special plate for me at the desk at 4:30 am so I didn't have to go hungry. That was awesome of them to do that for me. Thanks again!”

“The restaurant experience was very poor. Room service was out of a number of items one night and when I tried to order something to go the next night, I had to wait 10 minutes beyond the time when it was supposed to be ready and was ignored by restaurant personnel when I tried to pick it up. They were understaffed for the number of people in the restaurant.”

• They give cookies at the front desk and the room is not crowded.
• I thought Double Tree hotels were a bit more upscale than this.

“Everything was great, however I did not think the hotel was quite up to its star rating. But, I would still recommend it as long as you are not wanting to be in the center of downtown, it is a bit of a walk through as tiny section of downtown that was a bit shady. Shuttle service is provided on weekdays, but not weekends.”

• Being an upscale hotel, they expected you to pay additional for services like internet that other hotels give for free.

• Great location in Uptown with access to many restaurants and activities.
• The parking is not connected directly to the hotel.

“This hotel was great. Great Uptown location and easy to find from the Interstate. The hotel was very nice and the staff was friendly. They also greet you with a warm cookie, which is a nice touch. The parking garage costs $10, and it is not connected directly to the hotel. This felt safe though, as they have patrolling security guards.”

• Very friendly staff. Only about 8 blocks from central downtown--an easy walk.
• We stayed in a double; one of the beds had a large wet spot, soaked through.

“I liked the hotel. The staff was very friendly. My boyfriend and I were there for a Springsteen concert at the arena, and the woman who checked us in not only gave us directions, but offered to send a cab after the concert was over. We'd never been to Charlotte, so we chose to walk instead and take in the sights downtown--and the hotel was very conveniently located straight down the street! It's not the best area (close to the highway), but still in a good enough part of town that we felt safe walking back to the hotel around midnight.”

“Parking is not adequate and is confusing. Must walk a long way to get to hotel. Charge is 10.00 per day. Often, the main parking area is full. You get no information as to how to access alternative parking (requires driving a block away and entering same deck from another entrance. Also, there needs to be a way to get in hotel with hotel card/key after hours. Room is nice/comfortable. Location good. Parking is only real problem, but it is frustrating.”

• The room was small but all our needs were met. The staff was very courteous and saved our non-smoking king room while we went and had some lunch.
• I did not like paying $10.00 for parking when we had purchase a room. I thought that should be included.

“We picked this hotel for it's location. We had tickets to attend a concert at the Bobcat arena. It was about 8 blocks away through a little bit of a questionable neighborhood. The staff assured us that we would be fine walking back at 11:00 but gave us the cab company phone number just in case. All went well and we had a great time.”

• The tiny, room and the high-priced internet.

“Far from the action, and still very difficult to park at. No security in the garage, and after midnight that was a little scary in as much as there was no connection between the parking and the hotel. They charged a lot for internet service, and the signal was low all the time. The room I got was supposed to be a full-sized room for two, and I felt cramped as a solo. Not a room I'd pay a hundred bucks for again.”

• Before arriving a young man offered to find out where a UFC fight would be played that night.
• Shower nozzle broke off in my hand-2 attempts to break into my room.

“This hotel was suppose to be 3 stars, but it was awful. Paint was coming off of the mirrors in the room. The shower nozzle broke off in my hand and we were late leaving the hotel because we had to wait for maintenance to come fix the shower. At night we caught someone outside of our door trying to enter the room. The next morning someone with a key actually opened our door even w/ the "do-not-disturb" tag on it. The worst part was that this hotel portrayed itself as being so customer driven, but no one seemed to care about our disappointment, only how fast they could get us out the door.”

• I didn't like the 9.95/day charge for internet service.
