“Excellent choice for the location.” Oct 25, 2007 by
Will from Bradenton, FL
“The place looks nothing like the pictures on the net. The bathroom made a dog wining noise each time you flushed. The head board came off "wall". Thought that was part of a bed. There were signs all over with cheaper prices on other side off the street not beach side but, I had a courtside view anyway. So I over paid. "Courtside view" well the space between my house and the next door has more room. If you just want a place to sleep fine, but just not for the price. When you go to Daytona it's not for the rooms it's for outside. Well that's fine when you don't have a small kid with you. It's just not what you see on the net. A Courtyard is an enclosed space in the middle of something. This place had no middle. Its turned side was with one or two rooms ocean view down stairs and the same on 2nd floor. Oh did I fail to say it's clearly told to you that you will be charged if you smoke in the room, well I don't smoke but when I returned to my room there was a butt on the floor and a long hair in the sink that wasn't there. I'm bald headed and there is no house keeping. And never mind that there is no ceiling, it's just cross beams.” Aug 21, 2007 by

“Id love to know what year their pictures on their site are from? We booked the Dream Inn from 8-8-07 to 8-17-07.The room was disgusting. The shower had not been cleaned in sometime. I have a video of the slime buildup on the shower walls, with my finger slicing through the grime. The carpets where filthy! No one bothers to look under the bed? They never gave us soap after the first bar! We had to go buy some! There was a spot on the sheets of one of the beds that was there everyday! This was proof that the sheets were never changed the whole time we were there! (5 days!) There were cigarette butts and garbage everywhere by the pool, and in all the plants. You could not even enjoy the pool without getting cigarette butts stuck to your feet! I'm an ex-smoker and it grossed me out! The pool also got dirtier as the days went on so buy the 5fth day it was turning to sand water. You couldn't see the bottom. It was also never cleaned. There was what looked like a condom by the pool on the cement. That was never picked up. No one cleaned at all. Just making the beds is not cleaning in my book! The balcony of our oceanfront suite was filled with filth and rust, and could not be enjoyed. There was what looked like bird feces on the drawer handle in the kitchen. This also stayed there our entire stay. There are no lights at night. All the surrounding hotels pools are lit up at night with people having fun, and our grounds were black! In my opinion it was totally unsanitary and inhabitable! The manager is rarely ever there to complain to. Being on vacation we had things planned, so we refused to wait around for the times he felt like being there, as it would have destroyed our reservations in places we planned to go, further ruining our vacation. I finally got to leave a phone complaint on an answering machine after also having to make several attempts at that, being told their mailbox was full! We ended up calling the airline, and changing our flight. We came home 5 days early because of this nightmare.” Jul 24, 2007 by

“This hotel was ok for a short stay, but I would not recommend for a long stay. The room was very small. The hotel staff was very nice and it had some nice seating areas around the outside of the building.” Jul 22, 2007 by
Mark from Orange City, FL
“The only sink available was in the bathroom. Two hotel-type soaps were provided for 2 people, both were in pieces and in dirty wrappers and were not replaced for the second nights stay and the shampoo sample was used by a previous occupant. The beds were comfortable, but were surprised to see dozens of cigarette burns in the carpet of our non-smoking room. Limited after dark lighting on the premises. Was also refused a receipt for charges for phone calls.” Jul 19, 2007 by

“The Dream Inn is a good hotel and I do recommend.” Jun 21, 2007 by

“Dump pretty well sums it up. Although I can speak only for room 126 and exterior. Blood and feces on box spring, broken toilet, shower and sink, dirty bathroom. Owner said he would clean room top to bottom for us, ha, in my opinion that would take a week.” Jun 12, 2007 by
Debbie from Portland, TN
“I got pretty much what I expected for the price. It was clean, but this is an older hotel and in needed of a facelift. Not much on service as the office did not stay open many hours daily. There are 2nd floor rooms but they are only accessible by steps and there is no help with luggage. So if you are older you want to make sure that you ask for a lower level room. This is a great place for someone looking for a cheap room at the beach and you are not spending many nights here. It is on the south end of the beach so there is not much noise or not very crowded.” May 31, 2007 by
Laura from Altamonte Springs, FL
“There was a lot of confusion on the reservation when it was booked. The pictures of the hotel were not indicative of what the hotel looks like in person. Trash was left outside our room for 2 days. The grounds are in pretty poor condition. interior and exterior are in major need of repair and/or replacement. The room smelled musty and old. I was very disappointed with the room, if we hadn't been by the beach I would have had a terrible time.” Apr 29, 2007 by
Joe from North Ridgeville, OH
“Our stay whit this hotel was very pleasant and met our economic expatiations. Although the room was small it provided us with the accommodations that we desire, a clean comfortable place to lay our heads at night. The location of the hotel could not have been better. The hotel is located right on the beautiful Atlantic shores of Daytona and being that it is located on Florida state highway 1a1 granted us easy access to restaurants, gift shops and tourist attractions of the area. This hotel has my recommendation of an economy place to stay in DaytoNA Plus the staff was very pleasant and friendly.” Mar 4, 2007 by

“Dream inn called and said that I must send all my credit card info to them via fax. I called them and reassured whether I show or not they get paid. The owner called me and was upset that I would not do this and how dare I, and that she's not the holiday inn's and Marriott of the world. I told her I did not like the idea of sending my card info via fax. Well I did and now I have had my card charged double. I can understand them being independent and the challenges they have but you do not call one of your clients and "rant" for 10 minutes about the fact that she cannot trust me and how dare I not trust her. If I had to do it all over again I would have stayed outside of Daytona or paid more. Too bad, I am there every other month it would have been convenient.” Feb 13, 2007 by
Kitty from Redford, MI
“This was a cute hotel but the office is closed after 6:00 pm. no restaurant, and no elevator to the 2nd floor. There are only two upper rooms and the person in the other room just had heart surgery. I feel they could have moved us down stairs after 6pm at no extra charge if there were empty rooms.” Feb 4, 2007 by
Tim from Grand Rapids, MI
“Pleasant, quiet, small rooms with mini fridge. Couldn't get toilet room sink water to work. Had to use dressing area sink. Which was poorly lit to do hair or makeup?” Feb 3, 2007 by
Lynette from Largo, FL
“This privately owned hotel surpassed my expectations. It is an outstanding small hotel. Beautiful, spotless, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful view, lush landscaping and mural art. The beds are comfortable, love the mural art and very affordable too. The hotel is right on the beach plus has a lovely pool and gardens. Truly immaculate housekeeping. I will definitely return and recommend it to my friends.” Jan 26, 2007 by
Leon from Chickasaw, AL
“Fist of all do not let the pictures online fool you, because it is not anything like you see. There were 4 of us 2 in each room, they are not friendly, they have no ice machines, then we were told we had to leave, because of our small pets that had there on houses.” Jan 21, 2007 by
Marla from Carrollton, GA
“The bathroom was in need of repair from the door to the tub/shower. The safe was broken. The location on the beach was great and the staff was friendly.” Nov 1, 2006 by
Tracy from Douglasville, GA
“Only proper swim attire, no string bikinis, which I liked.” Oct 17, 2006 by
Nikki from Pembroke, KY
“We picked this hotel because it was priced right for our needs. My mother was getting married and my sister and I needed an inexpensive place to sleep. Spending most of our time at the beach, this hotel was perfect for us. Located close to my parent's hotel and right on the beach, we could not have asked for much more. I was a little disappointed that the hotel was not in walking distance to many of the area's restaurants, but it was only a short drive down S. Atlantic Ave. Lighting was the only issue for us. Other than that, this hotel stay was satisfying. We saved a great deal of money!!! I would stay there again if I wanted to visit the beach and needed to cut some cost.” May 31, 2006 by

“The best small motel on the beach in Dayton I love it.” May 18, 2006 by
Joann from Saint Louis, MO
“We really liked this hotel because it was small and family friendly, clean room and well kept heated pool. Unlike the other massive hotels at Daytona, it wasn't overflowing with people, so we could actually enjoy our vacation quietly along side the other families there, and it was right on the beach front!” Apr 24, 2006 by
Joy from Ft Thomas, KY
“We felt as if we were driving back in time when we pulled up as the hotel reminded us of something from the 50's / 60's, lots of charm! The deck and pool were very nice we loved the landscaping. We were a little disappointed in the room but we would stay there again. The young lady working the check in desk was very pleasant and helpful. "Gators" pizza across the street was a real treat!” Feb 23, 2006 by
Chris H. from Jacksonville, FL
“The hotel gouged us ($320 after taxes) due to the Daytona 500. It would be a value at $75/night or less.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.
