• Very comfortable beds!
• Room was not ready at 7:30 pm.

“I arrived well after check in and my room was not ready. I had to wait for the lady checking me in to go up and inspect it. The hot tub was not hot and the staff even admitted to it having a problem that they have been unable to fix. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The margaritas were wonderful and the tiki bar out on the beach is a nice touch. The room was spacious and very comfortable. I would stay at this hotel again.”

• I loved my stay. I wish we could have stayed longer. The room was absolutely gorgeous! The view was amazing! It was the best get away ever!
• I cannot not complain about perfection.

“My husband and I were in town for a wedding. We only stayed one night. The hotel staff were so friendly. Check in was a breeze eventhough we were early! I can't even describe the room and do it justice! Oh my! The room was beautiful and the views were breathtaking. The shower. The shower was to die for. We didn't the kids on this one. I love my kids, but I won't take them when I go back. The hotel is kid friendly, but I want to be greedy and enjoy it with just my husband! You can even make smores on a fire pit. I didn't get to do it because the time issue. This was just the perfect weekend getaway for any couple. (Especially for those with kids who need a break from it all. Instead of you haveing to take care of everything, someone else takes care of it all! Did I mention the shower?”

• The management was very responsive to a problem we encountered.
• Rude waitress at the bar.

“The hotel is a great getaway for me and my wife. The fire pit by the pool is a great way to relax in the evening and enjoy the beach atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and eager to accommodate. If you encounter a problem, just find a manger, they are dedicated to customer satisfaction.”

• Ocean view room was very clean and spacious for me, my wife, and son.
• Resort fees. Did not have time to use the pool but still get charged for the upkeep.

“The hotel is very modern and classy. The ocean view room we stayed in had a beautiful view of the pool and ocean. The room was clean and including a king size bed and pull out queen sofa. The bellmen, valet and concierge were all very friendly and prompt at satisfying our requests. Definitely will stay here on future trips to Daytona.”

“Excellent first impression, drive onto the beach from hotel parking area. Attractive building. English speaking, well groomed staff. Valet parking and attendants definitely first class. Check in was smooth, the hotel is very clean for a beach resort. The tiki bar staff and pool area was outstanding the fire pits at night are the highlight of the stay and should not be missed. Within minutes of driving to many fun spots. The IHOP pancake house is nearby and has fantastic food and service ask for Robert for your waiter. Rent just about anything on the beach you will need right at the hotel beach. Snuggly robes and comfortable beds. The AC only goes down to 72 but it was comfortable at night. Mini Bar! in room.”

• The beachfront was very nice and the location was not as crowded as many of the nearby hotel beach fronts.
• The room which we were given overlooked the parking lot. The pool area was overcrowded and the tiki bar was expensive.

“This hotel in Daytona beach was my least favorite. The hotel was fine. It was clean and there were some amenities available. The beachfront was nice. I would not stay here again.”

• The hotel itself was beautiful and comfortable. Friendly staff - not pushy.
• The bathtub did not drain well while showering and the bathroom faucet leaked.

“The hotel is beautiful. The pool is a bit small, but then the ocean is right down the steps so that is okay. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Very friendly staff.”

• The beds were very comfortable. The whole atmosphere was relaxing.
• We had to park across the street, but they had a covered walkway that went over the street so it wasn't so bad.

“My husband and I took our four children on our family vacation to Daytona Beach. We chose The Shores Resort and Spa. It was beautiful, our children had an amazing time and it was located in a perfect spot. We would highly recommend this hotel to those who are looking for a beautiful hotel that is family friendly.”

• The size of the room was wonderful. Plenty of space to move around.
• The pool area always had a lot of sand all over the place and the sand around the fire pits, very dirty.

“My opinion, overall, is very good. I loved the size of the rooms. Larger than your average hotel room. The beds and linens were top of the line, which made for a great nights sleep. The rooms were very clean and maid service comes twice a day. The pool area needs more attention though. I know its on the beach, but the deck always felt so dirty to me. The sand around the fire pits could stand to be cleaned out as well. If you own a lap top be sure and bring it. The internet fees is included in your $15.00 a day resort fee. They (the staff) need to get there facts straight. The resort does provide beach towels pool side, however you cannot take them on the beach. I would stay here again. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give this one an 8.”

• The views and location were great. It was everything we expected and more.
• Nothing.

“This is not a new hotel, but has been updated and is very clean. The staff was very helpful with local attractions. The room was great with an awesome view even though we didn't have an ocean view room. This has to be one of the only hotels with free parking on the entire beach. Overall excellent experience, we will go there again.”

• It was a beautiful hotel the room we stayed in was very nice.
• The actuator on the air condition unit was not working properly and service man was called to room on 2 separate occasions.

“The hotel was very nice. When we arrived we were told there was a $15 a day resort fee. Was not happy about that. The staff was very friendly. The actuator on the AC was not working properly which made the stay a little uncomfortable. Service man had to come to our room two times, the lat time at 1:30 a.m. Other than that it was nice. Not sure if they ever charged me the extra $15 a night resort fee.”

“This is more of a hotel for adults. However, my 12 year old loved sitting around the outdoor fire pit at night, and was very reluctant to get out of bed in the morning because he was so comfortable.”

• I loved the atmosphere the resort has created.

“I have stayed at many resorts and this has been one of my favorite! It was not the biggest and maybe not the most exclusive. But I loved the decor. The updates are very classy. I loved the warm feel of the bar and the entrance of the lobby. The restaurant was wonderful. I felt as though we were on a tropical island instead in the states. The staff was very friendly and most helpful. I look forward to returning to the shores for a longer stay in the future.”

• Nice rooms, a little old hotel even after renovation.
• Parking your car across the street, when the parking lot by the hotel was totally empty.

“The hotel is nice but you can find traces of the old hotel that is showing up in some places. The restaurant is excellent but very pricey. The service is great at the restaurant and hotel. I will stay at this hotel again. Location is somewhere out of the center of Daytona tourist area. Must drive to go to all the attractions. The beach is assume.”

• The hotel staff was very friendly and the lobby was very professional and luxurious.
• I don't like how you have to cross the restaurant to get to the pool from you room.

“It's an excellent hotel. The only odd thing is that you have to go through part of the lobby to get to the pool and beaches. It's odd to walk through a fancy restaurant setting in your flip-flops and wet swimming suits while passing people dressed up for their dining experience at the restaurant.”

• One front desk associate didn't have much of personality.

“Excellent resort and spa. Great location, not in the "busy" beach areas of Daytona. Quiet. Furnishings were nice and cozy and common areas in lobby were awesome. Pool deck was very inviting and it made you feel like you were somewhere special. I would say the best resort in all of Daytona. This was a gift for someone and I personally plan on booking a room there in the near future!”

• Half of rooms do not have a balcony (including mine).

“I was extremely impressed with the cleanliness of the room, the nice decor, and the friendliness of the staff. I was pleased to get a room that faced the ocean. However, I was disappointed that I could not sit on a balcony to enjoy my morning coffee listening to the ocean, which I found unusual at a 4 star resort.”

• Meal was well prepared but unfortunately the service ruined the effort.
• Service all around & housekeeping & shower. Design.

“Only positive was the view & Nicely decorated but unfortunately staff was extremely slow & seemed bothered by our request additional pillows & towels. Housekeeping was worst ever experienced in over 20+yrs of travel. Please note, only 4 pillows provided & waited 2+hrs. for the extra pillows needed & only one extra was brought!”

• Charge for parking, broken window, and poor service.

“I have stayed at this hotel for many years since the previous hotel grouped owned this place. When the new group came in service was excellent and the hotel was remodeled. Since then the service has gone down hill, the maintenance isn't to the highest quality, and to top it off they now charge for parking. Not as pleased as I used to be.”

• They put us in a child's room, said there were no kings beds.

“The hotel was practically empty, no one at the pool, nearly empty parking lot, yet they couldn't find a room for us with a king or even a queen bed. We got stuck in half of a family suite, the children's half. Low sinks and vanities, double beds. We were so disappointed as we were hoping to have a romantic get away, and we couldn't even sleep in the same bed.”

• Bath tub backed up, TV remote broken but when reported was corrected quickly.

• The hotel is pretty far south of Daytona and not enough ocean view rooms.

“The hotel is a very comfortable place to stay. The rooms are nice but could be a little cleaner. There was a parking charge even w/o a car? Front desk staff seemed ok but some of the other staff seemed rather unprofessional. There were not ocean view balcony rooms available but we did upgrade to get a ocean view room w/o a balcony. Any rooms booked my not be ocean view even though the descriptions does say ocean view. I would still stay at this hotel again in the Daytona area.”
