- Excellent views of historic Savannah.
- Bathrooms need to be updated to match the rest of the rooms.
“Very nice pool area, updated lobby and clean. Comfortable rooms/heavenly beds. Great decor, wonderful large flat screen TV. Bathrooms were a little dated-could use some TLC. Slow check-in process, but we were upgraded to a riverfront corner room without even requesting it, so great customer service.”

- The hotel was very clean and well kept.
“While the Westin hotel was quite nice, it was very far from the historic district that it was grouped in. We were at the mercy of the ferry to get to and from the mainland. On days that it rained, we were stranded, cold and wet. We were in Savannah to plan our wedding and we were late for many appointments due to having to keep track of when the ferry schedule was running.”

- The lobby area was extremely attractive.
- The cleaning service was less than expected.
“They obviously spend a lot of money on the initial appearance of the hotel as the main entrance and lobby were filled with art. The rooms on the other hand are no better than that of average 2.5 star hotel. Other than the supposed plush sheets, the furniture was dated and really beginning to show some wear and tear. The cleaning staff never vacuumed and forgot to leave some of the essentials such as soap and coffee cups.”

- Location was excellent, view was fantastic.
- Service in off season was lacking.
“Best luxury hotel in the area. You are across the river, but a free ferry will take you back and forth twice an hour. Great spa, golf course, bike/rollor blade course, trail bikes too. Its costs a bunch, but worth the money.”

- We had asked for a new comforter and this was not replaced, it could have been a language barrier issue though.

- The bed and bedding were very comfortable.
- Not being able to take own drinks and food to pool.
“The overall experience was nice. The staff was friendly. I called ahead to ask for an early check in and was advised to come to the front desk to see if the room was ready. Upon arrival I was advised that the room was not ready, but the staff took my cell # and said they would call shortly and get our room ready. I never received a phone call and was not able to check in for 4 hours after initial contact with check in staff.”

- They had a ferry that transported us to River Street. This made getting around very easy.
- The view on the back side of the resort isn't the greatest.

- Our room was a little shabby.
“The hotel thought we had a dog with us (no idea where they got that from) and were out of king rooms. When we got to the room, I was surprised to find that the furniture was slightly shabby (worn legs, faded fabric, etc.). The A/C never was very cold though we spent so little time in our room that it didn't matter much. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and we slept well. The common areas of the hotel are beautiful and Sunday brunch was incredible.”

- We loved the Jazz Brunch on Sunday morning. It would be nice if it were held on Saturday a.m. also.
- They did not get the payment information correct. It was a gift so I ended up paying for the brunch and my daughter reimbursed me.

“A hotel suited for your more well off occupants, everything offered cost extra, not tailored to your average vacationer. Maybe nice for a golfer or convention perhaps.”

- Our check in process. I wasn't given a key to the fridge & had to wait 40+ mins. for one to be brought to me after I requested.

- Additional fees not indicated until check-in, sand flies were so bad the pool (and any outdoor sitting) was unpleasant to use.
“Caution should be given to sand fly "season" since any outdoor activities were extremely unpleasant. Not much to actually do at the hotel but the water taxi was convenient and our view of the golf course was beautiful.”

- It was clean, well appointed, and reasonably convenient to historic district in Savannah.
- It was not user friendly. Staff was cold. There was a $20 service fee per day.
“This was a golf and tennis resort. It was very nice, but it would have been better if they had some accommodation for the common sightseer such as we were. Service charge of $20 per day was for golf and tennis services and other that we did not use. Also, a man carried bags from the car to the door and another from the door to the room. Both had to be tipped. When I tried to use a luggage rack, I was told those were only for the staff. There things took away from the pleasures we should have had from such a lovely place. On the positive side. The water taxi to Historic Savannah was convenient.”

- Hated having my cosmopolitan in a plastic glass by the pool. They should have something a little more attractive to serve it in.
“Hotel was described as a resort and it was in a good minimalist kind of way. The pool and surround was very nice. I loved that we could have room service. The food offered in the lounge was a bit limited, and that's ok but wish they had offered a simple salad. Some of the offerings were not as well presented as they could have been i.e. free golf balls to hit, gym available in nearby bldg. It was listed but took me a few days to figure it all out.”

- Individual gas fireplaces were a nice touch at outside sitting areas by the pool.
- Additional $17 resort fee billed to my credit card before checkout.
“Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Westin. Short ferry ride across the river to town (left every 20 minutes) took only 90 seconds. Very convenient. Avoided limited/expensive parking in historic district. Free parking at hotel. Fire pit, hammocks, and Jacuzzi by pool were very nice. Wonderful property. Very elegant/contemporary public spaces. Room very comfortable. Heavenly bed. Restaurants at hotel very expensive.”

“I will never return to this hotel. I paid a high price for a hotel that was of equal quality as a less expensive holiday inn. If I wanted holiday inn, I would have gone to the holiday inn. The view of the river was great, but not worth the price. There was kills on over half the ceiling and at the top of the walls. Water marks in the ceiling corners. There was mold in the bathroom tile. Bed ruffle was torn with holes at the seams. The staff is rude and basically tells you to live with it because there are no refunds. Never again will I stay at this Westin. I will be returning to the area in two weeks but, I will to stay there!”

“I wanted my savannah experience to be awesome. I was excited about visiting savannah for the 1st time. But, I was disappointed with western¿s accommodations, although the staff was great and very helpful. The accommodations were low rate. The rooms were very small and not very clean. The heavenly bed down comforters had stains on them. The shower was dirty and I wasn't impressing with the supposedly 4 star hotels. I expected much more from a hotel of this caliber. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Although the ferry service was fun and easily accessible. Westin needs to renovate and get it together because for the price you want more luxury.”

- The hotel was divine!
- The food in the lounge is limited and very expensive. As well as the dining room although gorgeous.
“We had a marvelous stay at the west in. The location was convenient and the 90 second ferry to the river walk was fun and free. The view of the savannah river from our balcony was exquisite and very romantic. We loved our time and we treasured the staff when were so very accomadating. The best resort we have stayed at!”

- The grounds and decor inside were beautiful.
- The air conditioner did not work and other people were also complaining.
“The room is very nice and with the view of the river this room would have been well worth the money. The air did not work and the room was hot other people were complaining when we checked in. At night the heat turned on and it smelt like it was burning. The room was also very loud. You could not sleep because the hallways were so loud.”
