• Location, cleanliness and good mattresses. The room was extra roomy for our family of four.

“Very pleased with the staff, cleanliness, size of the rooms and the beds were more comfortable than what we are accustomed to in a hotel. We will definitely stay again in Courtyard on our next trip.”

• Room decor.
• No full restauarant, no refrigerator in room.

“This is my second stay at this hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. My last stay I had a refrigerator in my room but not this time which I found disappointing. I called the front desk and they explained not all rooms have a refrigerator and it needs to be requested. I was there for several days helping my son move into his dorm at USC, so it was a bit inconvenient.”

• I really liked the clean balcony overlooking the pool.
• Found garbage from previous patrons under the bed.

• Business center, cotton blanke to cover up instead of plyester crap.
• Horrible restroom, business center copier broke, breakfast was way too expensive, and not tasty.

“Mariott stays in the past were more luxurious, and sheets did not smell like an indoor pool. THis hotel was clinging to a 2.5 star status, but lurking on a 2 star moderate level.”

• Good customer service - good price.
• Agree with other posters that it would be difficult to find without GPSS.

“Nice little place. I was there on business so I didn't have a chance to check out the pool or anything but I did use the work out room which was adequate enough. Had some free weights, a recumbent bike and a treadmill with plenty of space and a tiny TV. I was a typical 3-star experience. Nothing too memorable - yet adequate for the stay.”

• Excellent appearance on the inside of the hotel. From the lobby, hallway, and room. Great job.

“The quality of the hotel, staff, and room appearance is excellent. The location is a little hidden and the area of the hotel is OK. However, that is an external factor beyond their control. I definitely would return.”

• It was exceptionally clean; had security cards for entrance; and the staff was very professional.

“A beautiful motel on the western side of Columbia, apparently tucked away, because of the intersections of the interstate highways. It really is a beautiful motel at an excellent cost with great staff.”

• I enjoyed the patio next to the pool.
• Ice machine is not conveniently located.

“I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It was clean and quiet, as I expected. However, the ice machine location was very inconvenient and there was very little direction posted on how to locate it. I was also disappointed that there was no complimentary anything for breakfast, only a buffet for $10.”

“We enjoyed this hotel. I was close to I26 and I 20 (within a 1/2 mile). On a quiet side street. Staff was very friendly and treated my children very well too. We would definitely stay again.”

• I liked the location to I-20 and the staff was very nice and helpful.
• The area is in transition. It is located in an area that is still a bit seedy.

“This is your typical Courtyard, good breakfast, clean rooms, nice people and good price. It also is across the street from a brand new Super Walmart.”

• Being able to walk from my room to the pool. Also the seating area out side the sliding door by the pool. Being able to walk to a 24 hours Wal-Mart.
• Nothing it was great.

• The breakfast was overrated, more like a continental breakfast that you get for free in other motels, this one cost $9.95.

• Very nice room -- upscale an older hotel to near new conditions, esp. TV.
• Breakfast buffet not worth $9.95 -- either better food/more choices or lower price.

• Nice location, nicely kept up, nice room.
• Went to the hot tub, no towels were available, all had been used, needed more to be available.

“This was a nice hotel, very well kept up, had a nice pool and hot tub, and appeared to be a nice buffet in the morning. Buffet was not free. Could have stayed at another hotel that offered free breakfast, one even offered free breakfast at the Cracker Barrel. Should go back to free buffet or at least free continental breakfast. Was also put in the only room that didn't have a balcony or patio, don't know why. The breakfast and my room being without the balcony are my two complaints. I wouldn't stay there again because almost all hotels have the breakfast deal of free buffet or at least continental for pastries, bagels, fruit.”

• It was clean.
• I checked into a room with no plasma television and had to change my room to a plasma television room. All rooms are not plasma designed.

• Great for business travelers as it is close to the two major highways in Columbia.
• The only problem I had was that the service at breakfast was not real good, but this was due to an unusually large crowd.

• Fifty cents for a local call. It probably costs them $0.01!

“Quiet, well kept, clean. Newer TV's and easy wireless internet access a big plus. A decent, although not highly memorable breakfast is available. I would stay there again.”

“This property recently went through a massive renovation and all I can say is "Wow!" The rooms are much nicer. I particularly liked the new TVs. The lobby and restaurant have been spruced up and I liked the inclusion of free internet kiosks just off the lobby. Overall, changed my mind completely about this hotel!”

• Toilet would not flush bathroom floor dirty, baking soda in air conditioner.

“I enjoyed the bed, we sleep well. But the bathroom floor was dirty, and we only stayed at night and so when we came in the second night I flushed the toilet and the water came to the top. I called and ask if someone could fix it while we where out that day when we came back about 10 pm no one had fixed it, so I went to the office and ask for a plunger, and used it and it worked, thank you, I feel you are working out the bugs, and it was better then the last time I stayed there.”

• All Marriotts are now non smoking had a balcony 2 smoke on had a big flat screen TV.
• No smoking policy and the TV was to the side of the bed, making viewing difficult.

“Nice property overall was told they provided a hot breakfast buffet what she failed to tell me was it was 8.95! Outdoor pool, indoor Jacuzzi. Rooms were nicely appointed would have enjoyed the big screen better in bed if I didnt have to turn my head to watch it.”

• It was convenient and clean. I slept like a baby the pillows were great.
• When I pulled in there were two cops, kind of scared me. They were just doing a security check though.

“I would recommend this hotel. The bed and pillows are fabulous. My husband like the breakfast bar. Not bad priced at $10. It was quite and clean. We got there in the middle of the night ' maybe 12:00 or 1:00. It was nice that it was very close to the interstate. When we saw the cops in the parking area, we were a bit concerned but the customer service rep said they were just doing a security check. That made me feels better.”

• Location is too close to a "questionable" neighborhood. TV channels too limited.

“Ok for the price. Would've been sorely peeved if Id have paid full price. Not enough TV channels to keep young granddaughter or myself entertained for long. Located in a "not so great" section of town, but nice that it is off the highway a bit.”
