“We loved this hotel and it is a solid 2.5 star. Rooms were large, clean and modern. The 42" plasma TV was a nice touch. The separate couch and sitting area was a bonus. If in the area again, we will definitely stay here.”

• Great room with a fantastic flat screen TV and it is tournament time so we saw some good basketball.
• Kind of difficult to get to and from the highway but not too bad.

• Mike, the Asst. Mgr. & his staff went above & beyond to make our stay comfortable, especially when we needed directions and restaurant suggestions.
• Absolutely was a wonderful stay - No Complaints here.

“We would definitely stay here again. The price was reasonable and the room was clean and spacious. As stated the staff was eager to please and the continental breakfast was perfect. Please let the hotel staff knows that we appreciated their hospitality.”

• The room layout was excellent and the materials used.
• Very slow elevator. Has its benefits depending on the company in the elevator.

“Very quaint rooms with adequate space for relaxation. Daily maid service to replenish toiletries, towels, make up bed, etc. USA today under the door throughout the business week. Nice fitness room with modern equipment. Attentive staff. New facility, continental breakfast available.”

“Good value for the money spent. The free breakfast buffet had no muffins or sweets, but was healthy and had good coffee. There is a Cracker Barrel right across the parking lot.”

“Would not hesitate to stay there again. Close enough to town to get to events conveniently, yet for enough away to be out of the hustle and bustle of Columbia. Room was clean and staff was friendly. Comp breakfast area was small but not to worry, as Cracker Barrel was just out the front door.”

• The front desk staff was very helpful. Carded Entry after 12. Room decor. Flat screen TV.
• Bathroom too small.

“The Hyatt Place Hotel was a very pleasant surprise. We were expecting allot less from a 2 1/2 hotel in decor, and friendliness of staff due to the time of the visit. Boy, were we wrong! The location was excellent! Less than three miles from the mall and every restaurant imaginable. The decor was great with muted greens and contempt casual design. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We WILL stay there again.”

• The morning clerk was very friendly and brightened my day.
• There were no smoking areas or rooms inside the building.

“I was very pleased with the hotel as a whole. It would have been nice to know that they do not have smoking rooms. I don't know if this would have influenced my decision to stay there. It was a chilly night and I had to go downstairs and outside each time I wanted to smoke. We checked in late (about 11pm) and the clerk was not terribly polite (but well short of being rude). The morning clerk more than made up for this with her cheerful attitude and very friendly demeanor. Finally, the bed was comfortable. I woke up as refreshed as if I had slept in my own.”

“My first stay at Hyatt place. I love place! It was modern and beautiful. It was great having a large sectional in the hotel room (I think it was approx. 8 ft). We liked that the sleeping space was separated from the couch area. I would highly recommend this hotel to even the snootiest of travelers.”

• The attention to detail, the large screen TV in the rooms and friendly, helpful staff.
• The grout/chalk in the bath area could/should be cleaned or re-done.

“I have stayed in this hotel four times in the past year. They have a nice continental breakfast, large, clean rooms and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located within one mile of a large shopping mall and many excellent restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel.”

• Breakfast fancy plates, etc., but slim pickings in food items.

“Hotel was fine. Check in a breeze. Room was very nice, larger than usual, designed to give a suite like atmosphere. But no indoor pool. To get a halfway normal hot breakfast you had to pay extra. Had melons that seemed to have sat a long time, cereal, bagels and English muffins. No donuts or anything like that. You had to buy them.”

• Friendly & helpful staff. Room was clean and comfortable.
• The hotel was very street noisy, could hear the neighbor and they put us next to the ice machine which was very noisy.

“Had a hard time sleeping because of the street noise, could hear the neighbors arguing and was put next to the ice machine on the first floor which was very noisy. The door did not lock so we have to use the metal bar to secure the door.”

“I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. If could travel state to state and stay at facility as this one, I would. The rooms were a great size, for rest and lounging. All the latest upgrades from LCD TV to granite counter tops, to nice decor in the rooms. The lobby and dining area was cleaned very well at all times, and having the LCD TVs in the lobby made lounging outside of the room pleasant and enjoyable. Again the staff was well trained in customer service and satisfaction from management down to housekeeping. Outside well kept, pool area clean and the business center was also available for work or leisure at no additional cost. Hot and cold bar for breakfast which could use some work but with everything else, that didn't even matter since restaurants and attraction sites were only feet away. I will be back.”

• I loved the renewed look. The have remodeled.
• There was no pool, spa or work out room. And no microwave use in the entire hotel.

“I loved the staff they seemed to care for the customers. There was a sense of team work geared toward the customer comfort. The general manager actually took time to chat with us to see what we thought of the facility and to listen to any and all concerns. I think his Name was Paul flowers. I did like most of the time we spent there. The only real draw back was that they ran out of eggs on two occasions and I find that unnecessary. Eggs can be bought at Wal-Mart if it means keeping the customers happy. I loved my stay and will come back.”

• Remodeling no dining room available.

“The room was exceptionally clean, newly renovated, and a great size. Comfortable living area with desk and sectional sofa, separated from sleeping area with a screen like panel. Amazing 42" flat screen TV that tilts for viewing from bed or living area. The bed was super comfortable and I had a great night's sleep. Staff was very friendly and service oriented. Automated check in and check out eliminated waiting in line and was easy and convenient. Only downfall: they are still doing renovations and while I was there they had not completed the dining area. It would have been nice, after a long drive, to be able to get a bite to eat right there, without having to get back in the car to search for dinner. Overall, though, a great experience and I would definitely stay here again. Convenient location if you are attending an event at the Columbia conference center.”

“With the single exception of a meager offering at the continental breakfast, as compared to Hampton & Holiday Inns for example, this is a better quality hotel than Hampton or Holiday. It is equal to the Hilton Garden Inn but the HGI blows them away on the breakfast.”

• The whole property is non smoking. This means NO smoking rooms. Very small selection of TV channels.

“This hotel is currently undergoing renovations which were not disturbing at all. They also have self check-in and check-out kiosks that are great for those who prefer, however when checking in and out guests were not given the option of checking in or out at the desk with an actual person, guests are immediately directed to the kiosks. I did not find this to be guest-friendly at all. This is a great hotel at the 2star level but not quite fitting at 2.5 stars. All 2.5 star hotels I am familiar with have an on-site restaurant and/or room service available. This hotel did not; it has a guest kitchen which was nice, but not quite what I needed for this stay. This is a great hotel for those who want to move in and out quickly without much desire for customer service. The rooms however are fantastic with 42" flat screen TVs, king size beds, sleeper sofas, electronic conveniences and mini-kitchenettes.”
