• Room very comfortable. Loved the large flat screen TV.
• Need more regular channels on TV. Too many sports channels.

• The hotel was clean with friendly staff and was close to restaurants and beach.
• The pool needed a little work and housekeeping knocked on the door at 9:30 am. Local calls aren't free.

• For the price we paid and proximity to the beach, it was excellent!
• Hotel seems just a tad bit removed from restaurants, shopping, etc.

“It was very convenient to the beach. This hotel seems to cater more to the older, business traveler. The demographic looked to be 60 and older when we came down for breakfast every morning. Makes sense being that it's partnered with the Mayo Clinic. I think the TVs are dated and the channel selection could be better (No Comedy Central or Music channels). Small balcony was a nice touch. If I'd paid full price, I'd be quite disappointed.”

“My daughter and I stayed at this hotel to attend a karate tournament on Beach Blvd. This hotel was very convenient because it was not right on Beach Blvd but was very close so we did not have the hustle and bustle of the busy blvd but all the convenience of the shops nearby. The person at the front desk was very helpful. Our room was a little smaller than we anticipated but was clean and already cooled. I loved that the bedspreads on the beds were covered with a light sheet material that is taken off and washed along with the sheets. Overall this was a lovely hotel that I would happily stay with again. The location on the Mayo Clinic campus was serene and peaceful which lead to a relaxing stay.”

• Exceptionally attractive and wonderfully clean!
• All ice machines were frozen except one, which kept getting emptied!

“Hotel was easy to find, 2 miles from Jacksonville Beach, which was a very easy drive! I was a little disappointed at the cost of the breakfast buffet ($11.00 per person) which was a little steep for the offerings, although you could have your eggs custom prepared. Overall, I would recommend and plan on stay here again!”

“First, we were told the wrong directions to get to the hotel - taking us 45 minutes out. Once we got there, the first room we went to had a strong smoke odor as soon as you opened the door; the 2nd room was filthy and hadn't been cleaned (this was 9pm) and smelled. The asst manager then moved us to a suite which was much better - only complaint is that the maid came at 9a on Sat and knocked on the door to wake us - even though the do not disturb sign was on the door. Room needed more lighting in the bedroom.”

“Very nice room, comfortable beds, numerous pillows varying in firmness, good coffee in the room, wonderful service (housekeeper went out of her way to get me more sugar for my morning coffee), gorgeous grounds next to the Mayo Clinic. Overall a wonderful place to stay! Far exceeded what I hoped for.”

• I liked having a balcony that overlooked the pool.
• We had to pay for breakfast, which was not cheap. $10 for adults $5 for kids.

“I checked in late, hopped in pool, took shower, got in bed to find there was a pair of men's socks in my bed. Clearly the bed had not been changed since the last guest. I contacted the front desk and they said housekeeping was gone for the night - so I slept on towels on the sofa. Management did not respond to my numerous requests.”

• Door in my room was unable to double lock as door was not straight.

“I stayed there on Friday and Saturday evening, therefore, I was not able to have dinner at their restaurant. I did, however, have a buffet breakfast on Saturday morning. The food was excellent and the price was only 10.99. The staff was friendly and willing to assist you in any way they could.”

• We liked the convenience of the location at the Mayo Clinic. My husband had a procedure at the clinic the morning after we arrived.
• Nothing it was very satisfactory it met our needs.

“We were looking for a hotel that was affordable and convenient to the Clinic and the hotel met our every need. The rooms were very well decorated; the showers were convenient because there was no tub just a shower stall; the location was restful and quiet; the beds were comfortable.”

“The location is terrible for leisure travel. It was located at the Mayo Clinic. Nothing near by but the hospital. The person behind to counter to check me in did not have access to the computer. I had to wait at least 10 minutes before I could get my room. The staff was not friendly. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.”

“Bathroom floor was sticky, glasses were chipped, towels appeared stained, staff ran out of toothpaste, kids were allowed to play video games on the one computer that was working (another computer was not working) for hours at a time - business travelers were unable to access the computer for business reasons. There were even kids on that one computer who rode skateboards into the lobby - suggesting that perhaps they were from the neighborhood and were not actually guests at the hotel.”

• Poor in-room "hi-speed" internet.

“Quiet location next to Mayo Clinic. Major restaurants/retail no more than 5 miles away. Jacksonville Beach about 10 minutes away. Jacksonville Zoo about 25 minutes away. About 25 minutes from I-95. Would most definitely recommend. Rooms very clean & recently renovated. Only minor issue was the in-room "hi-speed" internet is very poor. Not enough bandwidth for all guests, so the speed was sub-dial up for my room.”

• Room service was only available 5 days per week for 3 hours per day.

“Hotel landscaping was beautiful! Hotel staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel food was good, but pricey. A problem arose at checkout but the Operations Manager saw that the problem was fixed. The balcony was a trifle small, and the TV and remote were not in good repair. Very few channels on the TV. Altogether a good experience, much better than the last time I was at a Marriott!”

• The free breakfast was excellent, the speed of putting you in your room was excellent, perks ok.
• I happen to be right by an adjoined room with at least three small kids, I heard everything, every scream, I hated the room itself. Too many in one room.

“The only problem I had was the rooms where not leased out to accommodated the traveler, such as me being single adjoined to a family with kid that scream and run up and down the hall most of the night. Was a big turn off, the room service was not being used the night I was there which I was wanting a steak sent to my room. The location of this hotel is terrible. It took me 30 minutes trying to find it and it was right in front of me, with one small sign for the hotel.”

“This hotel was very clean, the bedding was high quality and extremely comfy - it was great. It felt like a 3 star. Plush carpets, nice toiletries, newspaper waiting outside my room in the morning - very nice. I wish there had been a complimentary breakfast buffet - this is the only reason I would still prefer to stay at the Hampton Inn - but other than that it was perfect.”
