• It's conveniently located off I-275 a major Cleveland interstate.
• The "nonsmoking" room had clearly been smoked in and despite room deodorant was unpleasant.

“I've stayed at the Baymont in the past. It's one of the few moderately priced motels on Cleveland's Eastside. The beds are very comfortable. It would be adequate for a single business traveler, though inadequate for couples or vacationers. It's like the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for."”

• Indoor hallways, elevator, easy access to highway.
• Front desk clerks were rude; breakfast was meager at best.

“We found the staff to be rude - front desk and breakfast staff. The desk clerk argued about giving me a receipt showing nothing was charged to the credit card they required at check-in. She eventually made a copy of my registration and wrote, "no charge to credit card". The rooms and halls were noisy in the early morning and late night. They ran out of food at breakfast (or it wasn't supplied at a reasonable pace). The room was clean, but in need of some renovation - corroded fixtures, stained carpet. A room with two double beds was requested at the time of booking - a king was the only room available. A non-smoking room was requested at check-in.”

• Easy access from I-271.
• Tub or shower was narrow, slippery plastic and needed soap dish and a higher mounted grab bar for an older person.

• Their cable is not much. Probably won't stay there because of that.

• It is very quiet off the main roads.
• No ice machine on second floor.

“Knowing the location of the Baymont in Mayfield Heights, I was surprised at how quiet it was. It is located a block or two off the main road, Mayfield Road and not right next to the interstate. You don't get the highway noise and headlights, usually found in hotels like this. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet and the staff, especially the breakfast staff, were very friendly and courteous. Great bargain for what I paid.”

• Complimentary paper & breakfast were nice. Location was excellent.
• Room reeked of stale cigarette smoke. Discarded wet cigarette butts & ash on floor next to bed. Bathroom mildew apparent.

“This hotel is in an excellent location with a friendly staff and average accomidations.Our major disappointment was the stench of stale cigarette smoke permeating every inch of the room which rubbed off on all of our luggage and clothing which caused partly by discarded wet butts and ash beneath the end of the bed which we located and removed. When I inquired about relocating to a non smoking room I was informed only one such room was not occupied, and it was a Suite and therefore, I could not exchange for it. We therefore toughed out our last night despite the odor with help of $10 worth of Air Fresheners from the local mall.”

• Old fixtures and wiring, lack of outlets near bed for CPAP machines.

“Recently updated furniture and carpets, but fixtures were not included. Bath was small but adequate. Exceptionally clean facility and friendly staff. My door frame showed signs of damage from what appeared to be a forced entry. I was unable to use my bring along door lock because of the damage to the door frame and latch slot. Overall, a satisfactory stay for a 2 star hotel. I believe this is my first stay at this level and I probably won't aim that low again because of the quality of the physical facilities, even though these were well maintained and staffed.”

“The Baymont Inn is a typical 2 star hotel--comfortable rooms, but limited common areas. It is tucked away, behind a gas station, and unless you know where it is, it's hard to find. The staff was very helpful and the free breakfast, wireless internet, and paper were nice. I have stayed here twice and would stay again. The particular room we were in the second stay had damp carpet around the air conditioner, and I believe there was something growing in the carpet, as it triggered my son's allergies.”

• The staff was friendly and helpful. The newspaper and continental breakfast was an excellent touch.
• Carpets were old and the hotel could use a bit of renovation.

“Excellent hotel in its price range. The staff is courteous and helpful and the location allows you to access most of your needs without leaving its general vicinity. While the carpet and furnishing do seem to be a bit old, high speed internet and a daily newspaper along with a continental breakfast is something that you almost never see at this price. I would certainly stay there again.”

• The breakfast attendants would not put out the healthy yogurts and eggs for the weekend.

• I liked the lay out. You had to go inside to get to the room.
• The air conditioner made the room either too cold or too warm.

“As with all hotels, I don't like using bedspreads and blankets that others have used. I did like the long sheets on the bed so I could fold them over the blankets.”

“Nice hotel for the inexpensive price I paid. Hotel was clean, but had a very strong cleaner smell everywhere you walked. Continental breakfast left much to be desired, coffee was good, but OJ was overly strong. ”

• This hotel is in a very convenient area and the staff was incredibly friendly during our stay.
• The room was clean, however the decor and room amenities were outdated and definitely not high quality.

“I was a little worried that this hotel would be too far off of I-90 to be worth the detour, but I was very pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to find. The hotel's accesibility via I-271 made for a pleasant, traffic-free detour off I-90 and barely took us off course. The hotel is also right across the street from a very impressive outdoor mall---convenient if you forgot something for your trip! The staff of the hotel was incredibly friendly as well. Overall, an excellent choice for an overnight stay.”

“The front desk staff was exceptional in making me comfortable in my room. I was traveling with my 2 teenage sons, and was given a room with a king bed. She offered a roll away, blankets, and whatever I needed so that we would be comfortable. It was after 9pm and she was the only one on duty, but went beyond what she needed to.”

• Maid service was sub-par.

“The hotel shows signs of aging in woodwork and finishes. The small fridge, in our room, was frosted solid and the cabinet it was in was broken at the bottom. Maid service did not always replace items like washcloths, coffee packets. We had to call the front desk several times.On the plus side, the free continental breakfast was very good and the service very good. The location was excellent being right off the interstate and close to shopping and restaurants. The rooms, and hotel in general, was very quiet and restful. Overall, for the rate we got from Baymont location is a very good deal.”

• There was a lot of dirt and dust stuck to the air conditioner.

“The room was clean. ALL of the staff gave 110%. Staff was friendly, helpful and attentive. I would recommend Baymont to anyone. ”

• The staff was extremely nice.
• The rooms were seemed slightly run down.

“The hotel was clean with excellent staff, however, it appeared to be slightly run down. For example, there were scuff marks on the walls, a small spot of mold on the shower curtain, and the bathtub water handle was loose (but in working order). The first room we were given had a toilet that didn't flush and a strange odor (that the staff attributed to carpet cleaner from when the toilet flooded). However, after speaking to the staff we were relocated to another room, so we were satisfied.”

• This is hotel was so dirty I had to sweep the rooms floor myself.

“We were given a room that had not been cleaned. The floor had big chunks of dirt and debris on the floor. The only offer we had at first was to vacuum the carpet ourselves. We tried but 2 vacuums were broken. Later in the evening they had received 2 cancellations and we were offered a much better room that was clean.”

• Fire alarm on for a long time, condition was dilapidated.

“This hotel is getting old and in need of serious maintenance and repair. The waffles that they pride themselves were of the frozen kind. Breakfast was really not impressive at all. Also, second night of the stay the hotel did not clean the room...it was some kind of mistake or oversight. Counter help was reading a book and didn't greet us as we passed by.”

• The room was not clean. We found dirty laundry and a used condom from previous occupants. Very disappointing.

• the clerk on midnight shift - made me sign a pet agreement at 2:45 AM - hotel accepted pets, but an agreement needed signed in the middle of the night

“The Baymont Inn - Mayfield Heights was a nicely located hotel in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland. There was a major snow storm the night we stayed there and the parking lot was well-plowed in the morning and the staff was very accommodating for us. I would stay here again in the blink of an eye.”
