• Nice rooms, great beds.
• Room smelled funny, night staff not the best, lobby looked like a cheap Vegas hotel

“Room was large and the decor was great, even gave free bottled water. I did not care for the smell, it was like they were trying to cover up smoke or something. The lobby looked like a cheap Vegas room and the night staff acted as if they just came off the streets and were given a job, not professional. Difficult to find an ice machine that worked. Overall the value was worth it, if I paid more then I would be upset.”

“We had standing water in our room from a faulty air conditioner. When we contacted management they came to our room and told us there was nothing they could do to help us since we booked through priceline. Very disappointing. We have used priceline on many occassions and never had a problem like this.”

• Liked the free WiFi access and that you needed a key to go up the elevator, that made me feel my family was safer.
• The lobby area was pretty small, didn't see a little convenience type shop/store in the hotel, that would've been helpful.

“The building is easy to spot when you're driving around town so it helps if you're not familiar with the area. The staff was always friendly. Our room was comfortable and clean. We had HBO and free WiFi which was nice. The kids had a good time at the pool.”

• Location was great.

• Great location near Universal Studios. Recently renovated.
• Parking spaces are tiny. Very difficult to back out of parking space.

“The hotel has been recently renovated with very nice carpet in the hallways and rooms, free internet and comfy beds. The only problem I had was that the parking spaces are very tiny. It was extremely hard to back out of my space without bumping the car in the row behind me.”

• Forgot our wake up call/dusty construction during peak hours.

“When we arrived the lot and entrance were attractive and clean. Entering the lobby I immediately noticed how small and uninviting the lobby was. We were not greeted by the bell/security staff. The desk is not a focal point so it was not immediately clear where to check in, nor was there anyone there to tell us. We stood at the desk for about a minute before we were acknowledged. Upon entering the hotel rooms area, things seemed a little outdated, not bad though. It was clean and adequate. Entering our room, I noticed the room to be clean and well laid out. There was free Wi-Fi internet, so that was a major plus for me and my son. Our night time experience was that the hotel is very noisy. Metal doors slamming, people hotting and hollering in the hall ways, lots of doors opening and closing at all hours of the night. On our second night we requested a wake up call, they forgot. Luckily we woke up anyway, and on time. There was an inadequate amount of soap in the bathroom, otherwise it was clean and well maintained. Check out was easy with on the TV prompts for express checkout. Overall the hotel was adequate, but not overly friendly or inviting. There is room for Customer Service improvements that would cost them nothing to implement and make a huge difference in customer perception of the overall package.”

“Hotel exceeded our expectations. Thankful for renovations done. Shower pressure was perfect. Room and bathroom were very spacious-great for kids. Staff was very friendly.”

“Very small rooms. You hear every word from the next room even when not shouting. Locker was broke. Staff was indifferent. No fridge in the rooms. Ice machines not on every floor. Room attractiveness was okay.”

• Public areas were under renovation, makeshift dining facility.

“Hotel is centrally located, convenient to attractions and convention center with trolley. Staff was very attentive, eager and knowledgeable. Room was comfortable if not dated a bit. Hotel is currently being renovated which I was unaware of.”

“I do not expect much but was surprised by the quality of comfort I got. The reception and check-in were very friendly, and the check-out was very easy. The rooms were very clean and it was very quiet (my room was situated at the 9th floor). The hotel is situated right near Universal studios, another bonus and there were many restaurants near-by. Overall the experience was awesome.”

• Poor quality and expensive food.

“Redecorating in process but not done well. Fresh paint on bath ceramic tile and shower/faucet not secured to tub wall. Heavy condensation on window leads to slight musty scent in room. Nice temperature control, easy to get heat/air as needed. Stay away from breakfast buffet - pancakes were like cardboard, fresh fruit wasn't ripe (and was very sour), eggs half-scrambled and cold, all for $13 a person. Denny's is across the street and IHop is next door.”

“I've stayed here three times now and it's getting a well needed makeover. The top floors of the hotel were closed for a remodel. I was typically given a lower floor and the room was poorly maintained. Multiple stains on the carpets and finger nail polish stains on the comforter. I did request a change of room, which was begrudgingly agreed to. I Staff was nice, but housekeepers did absolute minimum daily (I stayed five nights).

“Quick check in and check out. Pool closed early but this is the norm for most hotels. Rooms and over all decor is worn however the staff advised me that the entire hotel is curently undergoing remodel. I'm sure to stay again.”

• Free wireless, this was huge!
• No hot tub for 3 star resort? They did not clean room on at least 4 of 18 day stay.

“Great location. Good internet service. Good parking. Not a friendly room staff. Ran out of newspapers on 5 days of my 18 day trip. Room was not made up on several occasions. Gym atrocious, several machines broken. Front desk was nice.”

• The room was big and the beds were comfortable.
• Needed much repair in room - everything was old.

“The hotel is in a great location and the staff was very friendly and helpful. However the hotel was not in good condition. One of the lamps in my room was broken. Part of the shower was about to fall off and all of the carpets were worn and stained. The tile in the front of the hotel needed replaced.”

• The pool area was kid friendly and the service was ok.
• The room was very small, they only had a smoking room and I had small kids I had to take a small rm. 4 people one queen bed a barely fit 2 roll out.

• The hotel was great. We had planned to stay one night but decided to stay a second. Very nice place.
• Did not find anything to fault.

“The clerks were very pleasant and efficient. Very helpful. An attendant was at the front door to help us with our baggage. We had a very nice dinner and the following morning a great buffet breakfast. Would love to stay again someday.”

• The room I had didn't have a view because I was on the 2nd floor.

“I was very disappointed with my room. The bathroom smelled like it had been mopped with an old sour smelling mop. The bedspread was stained. The AC would not go below 80. No pen/pencil in room. Safe did not work.”

• Good location to access interstate and clean nice room.
• Location can be congested and make it hard to get into parking lot; poor internet connection.

“A clean and nice hotel and the staff was extremely friendly at the front desk. The location was convenient to getting on I-4 but hard to get into the parking lot from I-Drive. My biggest frustration was the internet (which was free) but very problematic my entire stay. I left with an overall good impression of the hotel.”

“The hotel was quite nice in almost all aspects. I was taken back to discover there was no refrigerator in the room. The internet connection only worked with cables (not wireless) and was very slow. Other than the two above mentioned problems, the hotel was quite nice in every other way.”

“Loved the look and the location to its surroundings, but the little extras where not there. Holiday Inns have morning breakfast and just as clean rooms, and offer better computer rooms to get to the net. The hotel was like a tourist trap.”

• Elevators take a while to wait on but there are 21 floors.

“When I first got to the hotel it was more than I expected to have. Beautiful and tall with this great sculpture on top. Unique shape to the hotel and the rooms and customer service was excellent.”

• Retro decorating.
• Pool bar was the filthiest I have ever seen.

“Overall its a hotel. With that said, the area that needs the most improvement is the food and beverage. As mentioned above the pool bar was filthy. My arms kept sticking to the bar. When I mentioned it to the bartender his response was "I'll get the day crew to clean it up". I would think that part of the bartenders daily duties was to ensure that the bar was always clean. They never emptied the ashtrays at the bar, did not know how to make certain drinks. The overall impression I got was that they filled a void with a body, not necessarily the right body.”

“My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The rooms weren't bad in size, the kids enjoyed the pool. We really liked that next to the hotel there was a place to play miniature golf. We would definitely stay again!”

• The deluxe room was just the same as a traditional room and they charge for a minifying.

• The dated decor and the air freshener were overbearing.

“The hotel staff was very nice. The decor was very cheap and unappealing. A movie poster in our room depicted violence against women. Very offensive especially to children. I would not stay at the hotel again.”

• The hotel has an interesting look, both inside and out.
• The maid service was not complete by 5 p.m. our final day, which was unsatisfactory.

“Overall, the hotel was great. The hotel has a unique look, both inside and out. Because it is cylinder-shaped, it was always easy to find on our way back each afternoon. The outdoor pool is heated which was quite nice, although we would've liked if they had offered a hot tub as well. All of the rooms have a great view. The hotel staff was friendly and courteous. However, on the final day of our stay, we returned to the hotel after 5 p.m., after visiting a Theme Park, only to find out room had not been cleaned by the maid service. We went to the pool to hang out, and returned to our room 20 minutes later. The maids had been at the room next door, so we figured they would be done in 20 minutes. Well, we discovered that they had skipped our room and continued on to clean the next. That was frustrating. Also, our first morning there, we tried to use the shuttle service to Universal Studios theme park. It was supposed to arrive at 9 a.m. By about 9:30 a.m., we gave up and drove ourselves to the park, and had to pay for parking. The other days we used the shuttle service, however, it was prompt and easy to use. Other than those two minor problems, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Sheraton Studio City hotel to our friends.”
