• The valet parking was too expensive and resort fee.

“The hotel was beautiful and close to everything in Orlando/Disney area. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the room was very modern decor. The bad thing about this hotel was that they charged a $18 a day resort fee, and $20 a day valet parking, unless you wanted to take a long trek to the free parking. Overall, very nice place to stay and close to all the Orlando Theme Parks.”

• The hotel was very clean. They have an excellent pool
  and numerous activities for the family.
• I didn't like that we didn't know about the additional $18 daily activities fee.

“The rooms are newly renovated, very nice. The staff was friendly; they would do anything to make your stay better. The pool is huge with 2 different water slides that children and adults would love. You can relax on any lounge chair and let the wait staff wait on you for a price. Has numerous restaurants so that you don't have to leave for food but the price is a little up there. They have bikes, paddle boats, kayaks, rock climbing wall and other activities to keep you busy. This is a hotel that you can spend a day or two of your vacation just spending time in. We enjoyed ourselves.”

• The rooms had just been renovated. Very quiet at night.
• The pool water was too cold at 83 degrees.

“Convenient location to Disney, recently renovated rooms, quiet at night, great pool with slides, 9-hole mini golf great for the kids. Coffee bar in the morning good for a quick breakfast.”

• In the middle of everything but felt like a little oasis.
• They were in middle of an upgrade but construciton didn't affect visit.

“They are currently updating the hotel and we stayed in a recently updated room. It was very nice. The bathroom and shower were awesome. The bedding was very comfortable.”

• Fantastic pool area. Great extras like boats, bikes, and pitch/putt golf.
• Under rennovation. But, will look even better soon.

“Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is a fantastic resort. No need to leave to have a great time. My wife and 3 children ages 5 and twins 2.5 had a great time. The pool is fantastic with great slides and waterfalls. Love this resort!”

• The pool and all the activities at the resorts lake right by the pool.
• Nothing.

“Excellent! There is free self parking, the rooms are awesome - comfy beds, rain forest shower, lots of channels, balcony - the pool and lake are the best! There is 1 large pool with 2 slides, 3 hot tubs, 1 heated pool, a groto, a bridge and it's all open 24 hours, plus enough cushioned layout chairs for everyone in the hotel. Also, there is a $18 resort fee that's only charged one time per room and includes free and unlimited access to the lakes and all it's activities that include: hammocks, paddle boats, kayaks, and canoes. It is not even a half a mile from Disney. Well worth your money!”

• I liked the grounds and facilities, the staff seemed professional.
• I did not like that there was renovations going on that we did not know about and that we had to pay an extra $20.00 for the resort fee.

“At this time I would not recommend this hotel as it was messy due to renovations going on. It did not meet my expectations of a 5 star hotel. The room we stayed in smelled like smoke and the hotel had nowhere else to put us. My daughter is pregnant so this was a major problem. There was also a $20.00 fee as we checked out that we did not know about and I feel it should have been discussed prior.”

“This resort was perfect for our 4th of July weekend getaway with my husband and 3 children ages 14,11 and 9. The pool area and lake were AWESOME! The hotel staff was very friendly, helpful and very social. We want to go back!”

• Renovated room was nicely done, atrium lobby is beautiful.
• Renovated room had a semi-private bath with no exhaust fan!

“This is not a family hotel. Should create an category during the bidding phase where you can indicate that you are a family (1-2 children, 3+ children) so that you do not get a hotel with a semi-private bath. Our kids are very small, so it wasn't a huge problem, but in a couple of years we would not be able to stay there. This would also be a problem for business travelers where employees are asked to double up in rooms.”

• Resort amenities were exceptional.
• Maid didn't come until 5 pm, then didn't resupply the toiletries.

“This place is off the hook! The pool was enormous - 2 water slides, basketball, volleyball and more. Paddle boats, canoes, sailboats, tennis (clay and concrete) raquetball, touring and off-road bikes were all included in the $15 resort fee. Gardens and beaches EVERYWHERE for strolling, feeding the fish and ducks or biking through. They even have their very own Western Town on the premises for hosting corporate BBQs. I'm hard to please and I was very impressed. Only complaint I could possibly make is that the dining was outrageously expensive, but it's so close to a ton of off-site restaurants that it wasn't a problem. We didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back.”

“This is an outdated resort that is going through major renovations. Our room was located right next to a crane and temporary elevator. We had to help a hard hat construction worker to get on our balcony so that they could do work. It was a miserable experience yet will probably be a nice hotel in 2010.”

“Front the time I checked in till I left I was talked to very rude.Upon check in the guy behind the desk said nothing to me and handed me a key and just told me where my room was.They charged me a $28.00 resort fee.”

• The front desk staff was very attentive and free self parking.
• We had no water the two days we were there after 9:00 am and were not told this on check-in.

“The hotel is a bit older, but kept up very well. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms were a bit out of date and didn't really match the Asian theme of the lobby and grounds. But, it was clean, the bed was comfortable and we had a very nice view. Unfortunately, the hotel was under renovation when we were there. Nice sticky day for us! Would not have stayed there if we knew this as we were planning to just hang out around the hotel most of our time and considering we couldn't even flush our toilet - we went out! Not handled well!”

“This hotel was excellent. Would highly recommend. They made our granddaughter feel like a princess. The only thing that was a downfall was the ground transportation on the return from Disney was early. Need to have after the park closes.”

• Excellent service and amenities.

“The amenities of this hotel far surpassed our expectations. The pools had waterfalls, slides, volleyball, basketball and hidden caverns. Plenty of room by the pools with and without shade. There is a Rockwell, paddle boats, sail boats, hiking, a jogging trail.
Plenty to do for the entire family. Service and food were excellent- minutes away from all Disney attractions.”

• The staff was extremely friendly.
• The condition of the bathtub & tiles left a little to be desired.

“The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are very nice. The beds & bedding were comfortable. The bathrooms were a little below my expectations. The bathtub was extremely shallow and there were several tiles that were coming free from the wall. All in all, though, I would definitely recommend staying at the hotel.”

• Beautiful grounds, and you actually get something from the resort fee!
• An older hotel, but the are renovating.

“The room was very clean and the hotel staff was friendly. The hotel grounds were absolutely beautiful! This is a great hotel for families, business travelers, or a couple on their honeymoon. It has so much to offer, such as horseback riding, a golf course, a fitness center, pools, and a beautiful lake. The hotel is older, but is going through renovations. It is also very close to the Disney theme parks. My wife and I could see the fireworks from Epcot off of our balcony!”

• I loved all the leisure activities offered at the resort - biking, rock climbing, swimming, golf, water activies - included free with the resort fee.

“The resort could be the destination. We spent the entire day at the resort doing all the activities - rock climbing, kyacking, paddle boats, golf, biking, swimming, gym - all included free with the resort fee. We loved the property. Had the feel of a Hawaiian resort.”

• Very helpful staff, outstanding amenities, great view of the disney fireworks.
• Only a very small section of the pool complex was heated - which was a bit disappointing.

“Overall, this is a solid resort property with an exhaustive list of amenities. The hotel staff was cheerful, responsive and very helpful (especially Tim). The pool complex and grounds are quite stunning, but only one small pool is heated, which was the only negative thing I could find during a great stay at the Grand Cypress.”

• Best hotel in Orlando.

“Being a life long resident of Florida I have traveled to Orlando over 60 times, The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is by far the best Hotel in Orlando. The Pool and common areas are unmatched by any resorts in the area. The rooms, common areas and restaurants are very clean, the staff is by far the best in the business. We skipped our last day at Disney World just to hang out by the pool and enjoy the recreational activities available.”

• Location and room size.

“Overall, a nice hotel. We did not use the amenities as we spent our time at Disney. The one night we wanted to order room service, we felt the selection was limited and too pricey. The restaurants were either not as kid friendly as we would like (casual) or the food choices were not healthy.”

• The location to the Disney Parks and Universal Studios was great. Easy access by car to everything Orlando has to offer.

“I took my family to Orlando for four nights and we stayed at the Hyatt. I was very pleased with this resort. I only wish we had more time to take advantage of everything the hotel offers. We did enjoy the sushi bar and hot tubs after a long day at the parks. Overall a great stay!”

• The hotel was very nice, I would stay there again. No question.
• There was construction going on at the hotel and that the main pool with the big water slide was closed.

“The room was very nice and clean and the price was great! Room service was great along with the food. The only thing is that I wish I had known that there was construction going on to the hotel and that the main pool was closed along with the water slides. The only pool open was a smaller pool with a baby water slide. There also was no bar side service after 5:00 and no bar cafe open on Friday and it closed very early on Sat. I guess it was considered non season, therefore things were not open. That part is a shame, but we still enjoyed our stay.”

• Location.
• Nothing spectacular.

“It’s a 5 star resort. But the rooms are average same as a 3 star hotel. It has other amenities like a huge pool, beautiful gardens. But when you visit Orlando you are there for other fun, after all days touring and sightseeing you are exhausted and want to rest and sleep. For this I don't see this hotel anything more than a 3star hotel. Beware, this 5 star resort charge a resort fee of $15.00/day.”
