“The hotel served our purpose well, as it is right across the way from the university of Akron where we were going. It had an historic feeling (Quaker mills silos, interesting decor, shopping on site) and was quite clean. The halls were very stuffy (some sort of an air system would be great!). I didn't like the haunted stories that were shared with us, although they certainly added excitement to our weekend. I also found out that there was a special (meals included!) ” Mar 29, 2007 by

“The pool was warm, but dirty! It had a green ring around the pool and stuff on the bottom floating. Our floor smelled really bad and the ice area smelled like something was dead in there! Seriously, we were afraid to use our ice bucket and went to another floor to use their ice. The hotel needs to have some maps for their guest to give them idea what is there at hotel and surrounding areas. The hotel restaurant had tables with dirty dishes stacked on them and it took a really long time to get a dinner of hamburger and hot dogs! It smelled in the restaurant and shops too! Seemed kind of moldy, like someone's old basement through out the hotel. It is really a shame, because we were really looking forward to a good and unique hotel. They have a lot to sell with the unique setting, but have let the hotel run down maintenance wise. We were expecting a charming hotel and great shops. And did not get the experience we were seeking. Not in a hurry to go back. Really disappointed!” Jan 15, 2007 by

“The hotel looked great and was very near to where I needed to be. It was a bit stuffy but overall it was great.” May 22, 2006 by

“The hotel is located in an out of the way section of town. The round rooms are nicely furniture and it is a romantic setting until the air conditioner kicks on. There are several interesting shops in the complex but they open late and close early so if you not at the hotel all day a special effort has to be made to visit them.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 27, 2005 by

“I had to ask myself, what makes a hotel a 3 star versus a 5 star? This one surely must qualify for the full five star reviews. I am originally from Akron, and was home in the area for Thanksgiving with family, then headed over to Quaker Square for a comfy bed. I remembered the Quaker silos from my childhood, when the smell of fresh oats filled the downtown area. Transformed now into hotel rooms, we enjoyed a new view of the place. The fella at the desk was most helpful, assisting me with a pizza menu when we wanted late night food. A very clean room, lots of free amenities, (shampoo, etc) even a sleep CD to help you relax. The beds were the best, nice clean mattresses and spreads, fluffy extra pillows, a nice seating area to watch TV, clean bathroom. This was a winner! The only problem we had was no food available in house, as it was Thanksgiving and there was no food staff. A better vending machine would have satisfied us till morning when the pizza shop was closed. All in all though, a great experience, and highly recommended to all visiting the area. Great shops to browse on the lower level.” Mar 7, 2005 by
S E. from McMilln “The hotel was beautiful and made a very difficult week a little easier to handle. The staff was warm and welcoming. It was a pleasant home away from home while in Akron at the children's hospital” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Hotel Representatives:
