• The atmosphere was incredible. Great restaurants. Clean and beautiful.
• There is nothing not to like about this hotel!

“The hotel was gorgeous. The staff was nice and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms throughout the hotel were very clean and well maintained. Once you check in you really don't want to leave the hotel. They have lots of thing to do in the hotel; arcades, adult pool, family pool with slides and waterfalls, mini golf, nice bars and restaurants.”

• The environment and decoration, are very nice.

• Was not aware of the $17/day resort fee and the $12/day cost for self parking.

“The Hotel was beautiful, very clean, and relaxing. Met and exceeded expectations. The only down side is the meals are very expensive at the hotel (but there is lots of other dining in $17/day resort fee and $12/day self parking charge or $20/day valet charge. Adds up quickly when you are not expecting it. Other than that we loved this hotel and would definitely stay again!”

• Beautiful inside the hotel. Lots of shops. Very nice.
• The bed could have been nicer. It looked old and worn out.

“Lots of amenities. Beautiful resort. They have everything you could possibly need at the hotel. I think the cost for parking was too much. It's $13.00 each time you leave.”

• It was awesome! The spa, dolphin and alligator feedings were great!
• It was huge. It is over 2.5 miles in circumference, took a long time to get places.

“It was truly amazing! I wish I had more time just to spend at the hotel! There was not much there that we could not get. Other than the lack of Mickey mouse, there was no need to leave! The only complaint was that the restaurants were pricey. I do not mind spending money on great food but most budgets do not allow for 5 star dining every night.”

• There was a lot of noise because the hotel rented the facilities for a private party, with a live band.

“The facilities are awesome, so the hotel. The only problem is that they were having different private parties with live bands, and it was impossible to stay in the room because of the noise.”

• The atrium.
• Unfriendly staff.

“The staff was very unfriendly and unhelpful. People went into the pool without the staff officially opening the area. Room keys were deactivated everyday and we had to make a trip to front desk. They should not charge so much for parking and resort fees ($30 a day). TV volume and sound did not work properly, wallpaper in room & bathroom was peeling off. Food was overpriced and was awful, stale, and old tasting. We just did not enjoy the hotel, staff, or anything about our stay and will not recommend Gaylord Palms to anyone.”

• It's beautiful. The kids like walking around the atrium. Free mini golf, nice pool.
• I don't agree with self parking fees and resort fees.

“This hotel has a beautiful atrium with gorgeous plants, fish, alligator pond, and everglades area. The children love just walking around. The pool is great, there is a variety of restaurants which are all good. The rooms are nicely decorated and they are clean. We have stayed there many times and will continue to return.”

• Room was great, flowers were absolutely beautiful. Fun in total body fitness. Guy there was very nice to my children.
• Not much. It was really nice. Just surprised at the end of 2 nights to have $60 bill. Didn't know we had to pay for self parking.

“Excellent rooms! The spring flower collection of daffodils, tulips & hyacinths were abundant & absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed our workout in fitness center with the total body work out! Just a little sore the next day but the guy leading class was very good & even good to my two young daughters. Shops are nice too!”

• Nice facility.
• Security issues.

“Gaylord Palms can certainly rely on fine print, but hotels should avoid that, because relying on fine print almost always results in poor customer service. The overnight parking fee was over $12.00 per night and the resort fee was over $16.00 per night. With regard to security, one of my wife's necklaces was missing from the bathroom counter. My wife went to the front desk to file a report, but no one from security was available to take the complaint, so we eventually left because it wasn't an expensive necklace (fortunately) and we didn't want to waste our time. Still, any hotel where anything disappears, is cause for significant concern. Finally, and it's a minor issue, but the toilet paper dispenser in the bathroom was loose and falling out of the wall when we arrived. It was the recessed type (where the drywall has to be cut out to install it) and it could be pushed back into the hole in the drywall, which is apparently how the cleaning staff was handling the problem.”

“With a great location, plenty of parking and a wide array of things to do and see without leaving the hotel it was a very pleasant stay. Our stay was relaxing and enjoyable, we would recommend the Gaylord Palms to everyone!”

• Sheek and cozy.
• Way too far from town.

“The hotel room was very clean and new, decor looks upscale and modern. Parking is right under building and is free for self parking. There is a shuttle to Duval that leaves 20 past every hour and bike rentals are right across street. Room was very clean and staff very friendly and helpful.”

• Very family friendly, lots of things to do on property.
• Staff has an attitude like they are better than you.

“The hotel met my expectations, but the
AC in our room was broken and instead of making it right immediately, we waited an hour for the maintenance man, and then had him in our room for over an hour while he fixed the problem, which involved taking the system apart and replacing parts. This all occurred at the kids bed time keeping them up an extra hour. When I expressed my displeasure, I got a "so sorry for your inconvenience, but we can't help when things happen."”

• We did not get our room cleaned promptly.

“Hotel was amazing, we stayed here for the Disney marathon and the location made it very easy to get back and forth to. I did not realize that there was a charge for parking until I arrived. You can't really walk to any other bars/restaurants, and those on property are pretty pricey, but the quality is very good. Room was great, pools and facilities were wonderful and well cared for, and the atrium is amazing. My friends and I had a blast.”

• We loved everything - down to the welcome we received from valet every time we returned to the hotel.
• Things were a little pricey - Room, Food, Valet - we didn't like that you had to pay to park even if you didn't use the valet.

• 24 hour pools are great. Excellent grounds and variety of restaurants.

“Good location near highway. Pools are excellent and are open 24 hours. The children pool is especially great. Rooms are very good size and beds are comfortable. In room computer is a great idea and very helpful.”

• Interesting atrium and very nice kids' pool.
• Inexpensive dining options not very good.

“This hotel is beautiful on the inside and has a lot of things to do
the kids' pool is really great for younger kids especially. There's an adults pool which we did not get to try as well. The atrium is breathtaking it is a really neat experience. The expensive dining options appear very good (we only had the buffet dinner at Villa de Flora), but the inexpensive dining options could use some work (the stuff on the Key West boat wasn't very good).”

• Nice pool for kids. Nice workout room.
• Consistent queue at front desk. The rooms are a little outdated and need to be upgraded.

“In a sentence: Large hotel built to house lots of people. Nothing quaint or charming about this hotel. The front desk keeps a constant queue. Indoor atriums are great for kids - but are fake and aesthetically very man made. Nice pool for kids and workout room for adults.”

• This hotel is just stunning. I'm at a loss for words!
• Not one complaint about this hotel!

“It's Gaylord Palms. That's all you need to know! Just a wonderful, awesome resort that is close to all the action in Orlando. I stay here every time I travel to the area. So much to do, so much to see in just the hotel alone!”

• Extra charge.

“Hotel charges extra fees daily, which they call mandatory resort fee. If you ask in detail, they will tell you 2 bottles of water, internet, newspaper, etc. This fee, you can not get out of, however overall very nice hotel, except daily charge around 17 dollars.”

• The grounds are beautiful.
• Family pool was closed. On property food prices were very high. Room service high.

“The family pool was closed for the two days we were there, which was one of the main reasons we chose a resort. It happens, but it shouldn't happen in summer. The rooms were nice, hotel like but nice. The resort fees and parking added almost $30 a day to the price. Dining off property was a little far to find many options at all, but especially healthy/vegetarian friendly options. There is a grocery store a couple of exits up that would have helped with breakfasts/lunches/snacks had I known before hand. In the end, I will probably stay again, bringing groceries with me and ordering dinner in.”

“This is a beautiful hotel. Easy to get to. Right off of I4. It is convenient to Sea World and Disney. Close to family friendly restaurants off of hotel property. Great places to eat at hotel. The pool area is awesome. The staff was so friendly, beware of parking fees and resort fees.”

• The customer service was very poor.

“When I arrived to the hotel the lady at the front desk was nice, that's about where the good customer service ends. For a place such as the Gaylord Palms I would expect nothing short of every staff member anticipating your needs. I promised my Daughter a Strawberry Daiquiri, but that seemed like an impossible feat. We waited at the outside bar for 5 minutes before a guy asked if we had been helped, I responded with no just to find myself still waiting another 5 minutes. We ended up just leaving. Later in the evening when I went to an inside bar, it was the same thing, the guy seemed to show no attention to anyone at the bar. Again we waited at least 10 minutes, but this time we left with a drink. The family swimming pool was ok, but it would have been nice if in the hour and a half we were there someone would have brought out towels. We ate at on the boat that's inside for lunch. It was actually very good food, but again the service was very slow. I've stayed at many Resorts in Orlando and Gaylord Palms was far from the best. It's very nice inside but my Daughter nor myself were very happy there we couldn't wait to go home in the morning.”

• The atriums were amazing.
• Hard beds, lackluster rooms, overpriced dog food at the buffet restaurant.

“This is a good hotel for business travelers because of the convention centers and such. It is not meant for the casual leisure traveler. The resort is enormous and it takes a good 7-8 to walk from the lobby to your room. If you are not on the first floor. Decent seafood restaurant, but dining is very overpriced for the quality. Be careful to check who your neighbor is as well. The walls are thin and you can hear everything.”

• Upscale hotel very friendly and did not nickel and dime you.
• Very happy.

“This hotel was very upscale, clean, Staff was friendly and wanted to help in any way. They also did not charge you for every little thing. Prices were reasonable. Restaurants were very nice and delicious. Price range varied.”

• The hotel was a destination in and of itself. We stayed 2 days, and never got bored.
• The parking fee and resort fee add a nice chunk to the room rate.

“My children and I loved the Gaylord Palms. Our stay there preceded a Disney World onsite vacation. We never got tired of the Gaylord Palms, and we never managed to see it all. The buffet Italian restaurant was extremely good, and Javier was the best waiter I've had the pleasure of meeting. We had a breakfast there and dinner twice.”

• The breakfast buffet.
• It was supposedly non-smoking and wasn't.

“The hotel was very nice. The facilities and room were immaculate. My biggest complaint was the lack of attention from the staff. There were not enough chairs at the pool to accommodate the guests. In addition, they allowed children to swim in the adult pool as well as people to smoke at the pool even when there were signs that prohibited this. When we asked staff to take care of the situations, nothing was done. I was very disappointed about that, but otherwise it was a good visit.”

• It is a grand place - it begs exploration. Very pretty grounds.
• Self parking charges and resort charges in addition to the cost of the room and tax.

• Prompt friendly service and great accommodations.
• Loved it all.

“From the time we pulled up to the time we pulled away we had a 100% enjoyable stay. The consider it done attitude of the entire staff was wonderful. We even extended our stay a day because we were so pleased with the Gaylord Palms. The themes and pools had something for every family member and the availability of baby sitting services was a plus. We will use that the next time we visit and we will be visiting this location again.”

“Everything was great as usual except room service and front desk. This is our 2nd visit to hotel and had the same problem both times. There's a paper to fill out if you want breakfast in morning. It must be put on your door before 1 a.m. Both times I put the dam thing out before 8 p.m. and both times nothing arrives and the paper is still on the door. When I call the front desk they don't seem to care and connect me to room service again at which point we get up and go out to breakfast. Maybe service is why the hotel was so empty.”

• The incredible atrium and the friendly staff.
• Long car line to get to lobby (But definitely worth the wait).

“Amazing destination resort. Very relaxing, but never boring. Many things to do for all age groups. Great pool area for younger kids. It was so much fun to explore around the atrium - for me as an adult and for my younger children 3 and 9. So much to see and do there was not much reason to leave the hotel. The staff was so friendly and professional. Our room had a balcony through to the atrium and the view was incredible. We left the doors open to hear the soothing sounds from the many waterfalls. It will be difficult to beat this resort.”
