“The hotel is beautiful in the public spaces. The pool was nice. My daughter enjoyed the waterslide; however, the hotel did not provide a lifeguard at the children's pool and there were some older boys rough housing a bit too much. My daughter was almost hit in the head with a football that should not have been allowed in the pool. In addition, later on the boys were going down the slide four at a time, which was an accident waiting to happen. My daughter could not use the slide while they were there. Our room was acceptable; however, the view was of the parking lot and there were plenty of rooms available with better views. The resort fee was $16.95 per day and parking was $12.84 per day, in addition to what we pay for the room. A parking fee is ridiculous for guests that are staying at the hotel, the hotel has vast amounts of land and they are across the street from a cow pasture. It is not like you are in a big city with limited parking. It is just another fee. Our stay was ok.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Apr 14, 2008 by

“Excellent lodging. Very cool decor. (That's an understatement, actually.) Staff was excellent; food was good, drinks were reasonable.” Apr 14, 2008 by
Ron &. from Lithia Springs, GA
“I was very disappointed with this hotel. We were there for 6 days, thankfully, we spent most of our time at Disney World. The pool was closed; the water was turned off at 1130 to 330. We were awakened in the morning to the sound of saws and hammering.” Apr 14, 2008 by
Gary from Cumming, GA
“Great resort hotel, with great amenities.” Apr 14, 2008 by
Jenn from Grand Blanc, MI
“Great if you do not mind drive depends what you are in town for we should have stayed at the airport.” Apr 13, 2008 by
T. S. from Atlanta, GA
“The hotel is beautiful, the service is friendly, the pool is heated and it's close to the parks. An awesome family hotel even though they concentrate on conventions. We will be back.” Apr 11, 2008 by
Candi from Evans, GA
“Very nice would like to stay again.” Apr 10, 2008 by
Mike from Deland, FL
“Very nice landscaping and beautiful waterfalls and castle. Service was nice.” Apr 10, 2008 by
Danya D. from Jacksonville, FL
“The Gaylord Palms is a beautiful resort with many great qualities. The family pool area is fantastic for families with any aged children. Our room was very clean and spacious. The refrigerator a plus for our six month old baby's food. The only negatives I have are the $15.00 resort fee and the $12.00 parking fee. Great resort.” Apr 10, 2008 by
Cory from Temple Terrace, FL
“The spa was amazing and the savings that I had on the room afforded me the ability to enjoy a couples massage with my girlfriend.” Apr 10, 2008 by
Jamee from Cape Coral, FL
“I was not happy with this hotel for lots of reasons. When we checked in after a long day at Disney they gave us a dirty room. then after I called to let them know no one apologized! They said they would send someone up to clean it. I suggested a new room so we wouldn't have to wait. After a half an hour of waiting and no staff member I called back down o the lobby and was told "it was in their system." But, I said they're not here. We finally got into the new room. Nightmare over no! The key swipe in the new room only worked for the first swipe and would then erase the memory so every time we came back to the room from a long day at the park we couldn't access the room. We would have to walk back down to the lobby (a long hike) for them to reprogram it. This was promised to be fixed everytime to no avail. The best part is because the room key didn't work access to the self park was not available. We had to valet the car which oh wait for it was $20 each time! Not to mention resort fees of $16 per day! For the money you spend you would think the service would be a notch or two higher. I would have been better off at a Quality Inn for the service I received at this resort!” Apr 6, 2008 by
Janet from Freeland, MI
“We were able to take two families down to Orlando for 7 days and enjoy the indoor atrium, excellent housekeeping, 24 hour pool, and great location to Disney parks. Our friends took advantage of the hotel's bus to Disney, but we drove it on our own. I would be thrilled to go back to the Gaylord Palms.” Apr 3, 2008 by
G from Natick, MA
“Nice Hotel. Pricey (parking extra, and daily resort fee charged (we were not told this upfront). Hotel grounds are very nice.” Apr 2, 2008 by
Rachael from Fayetteville, GA
“I have to say I was a little nervous because the Gaylord Palms was the least expensive of the resort class hotels in Orlando, but I was pleasantly surprised! The place is amazing - you could literally not leave the hotel and still feel like you'd been on vacation. The interior is like nothing I've seen - stone forts, live alligators, a boat on water, amazing sand castle displays. My kids loved walking through all the paths and hidden walkways in the atrium. The heated outdoor pool was huge and there was a separate adult only pool also. We ate on the boat in the atrium and the kids were enthralled by the fire-eating woman and balloon maker on stilts who visited our table during the meal. This place really is amazing - it is worth the parking and resort fee that everyone complains about and it's right by the Disney entrance.” Apr 1, 2008 by
Kathy from Buffalo, NY
“Hotel was very well maintained. Themed rooms were gorgeous, as was the atrium and pools.” Apr 1, 2008 by
Kelly from Goodlettsville, TN
“Just fantastic! What a cool facility for any occasion.” Mar 31, 2008 by
Tod from Parrish, FL
“We had a great family stay and would return in the future without question.” Mar 30, 2008 by
Andrew from West Chester, OH
“Overall, it was a great experience. Very pleased with the hotel. Only problem was that we extended our stay. The hotel had this as 2 reservations and checked us out after the first one resulting in us getting locked out of the hotel at night.” Mar 30, 2008 by
Venu from Troy, MI
“Organized hotel, fantastic environment. Need to improved on restaurant facilities for families.” Mar 28, 2008 by
Colleen from Tampa, FL
“I would stay at this hotel again. The noise from the cheerleader group was just on the first night. We had a wonderful meal and the staff was very nice.” Mar 27, 2008 by
Andrew from Lakeland, FL
“Very poor experience. Hotel was full with cheerleader convention. Bunch of unaccompanied girls in room next to ours that had music blaring and doors banging till 3 am. Hotel management would do nothing and said that. "They are only here for one night" so were we. Room service had hardly any choice of food and restaurants on limited menus. Terrible stay.” Mar 26, 2008 by
Bonnie from Mickleton, NJ
“The hotel, room, grounds and atrium lobby were just beautiful. Room was quiet, despite a cheerleader convention. The room had only 1 king bed and there were 4 of us-my girls are 21 and 12. They were kind enough to comp us 2 rollways that were normally $30 each and the room was large enough! Dunkin donuts and Disney were close by and there was a complimentary bus for the parks. The room had a free computer and internet and the lobby has free computer/printers for boarding passes. What more could you ask for? Awesome place, which we had more time. The restaurant buffet we ate at was worth every pricey penny-I mean its a vacation!” Mar 26, 2008 by
Brenda from Bradenton, FL
“I would stay at Disney with kids, but if it was just my husband and I, this hotel would be great. It was very pretty and service was good. The rooms were spacious and clean and the atriums were beautiful and so well maintained. My only complaint would be the fees.” Mar 26, 2008 by
Andrea from Miami, FL
“It is a beautiful hotel, with different restaurants, nice swimming pool. I like it because my kids enjoy being in the hotel. For me was very comfortable, good breakfast. If I dont want to eat outside, it has nice restaurants in it. I went with my kids to the different parks in Orlando and it was near all of them.” Mar 20, 2008 by
Debbie from Simpsonville, SC
“This hotel was very nice. The staff was very friendly and it was very clean. We stayed in a suite and it was awesome. The amenities were fabulous and the restaurants were good. I would recommend this hotel to my family friends in a heartbeat!” Mar 19, 2008 by
Michael from Deland, FL
“Excellent hotel. Nice restaurants and facilities were fantastic.” Mar 19, 2008 by
Jennifer from Miami, FL
“I booked two rooms and even requested connecting rooms. You would think they would put the rooms next to each other or at the very least on the same floor. Not the case. They gave me a hard time and made me wait an hour for one of my rooms. Not expectable in my book although the hotel is beautiful.” Mar 19, 2008 by
Doug from Sault Ste. Marie, ON CA
“We liked everything about the hotel but the business atmosphere was a bit overwhelming. Some of the areas like the pool were off limits at times for us due to business parties.” Mar 18, 2008 by
Dan from Port Colborne, ON CA
“We plan to stay here again and again.” Mar 18, 2008 by
Anson from Boca Raton, FL
“There are some hidden charge like resort fee and parking.” Mar 18, 2008 by
Stacy from Alpharetta, GA
“We were so pleased with the Gaylord Palms hotel in Orlando.” Mar 18, 2008 by
Sally from Vero Beach, FL
“Hotel was nice but they do themselves a great dis-service but jacking you on their so called "Resort Fee" of $16.95. What a scam! Also, who ever heard of paying for parking in Orlando. Whether you are a hotel guest or not; whether you valet park or not, they slap you with a charge of from $12 to $18. I will never go back because of that.” Mar 17, 2008 by
Galina from Woodstock Valley, CT
“All in all, it was great.” Mar 13, 2008 by
Georgina from Port St Lucie, FL
“This certainly lived up to expectations. My only irritation was the additional $30 per night fee added on at the desk for parking and resort fees.” Mar 12, 2008 by
Shayne from Saskatoon, SK CA
“Overall the hotel was good but to have an additional $29/day added on top of what I already paid was a little much.” Mar 11, 2008 by
Nancy from Sarasota, FL
“We have stayed at this hotel before at a convention. This time we asked for an upgrade to an atrium view room and got one. Thanks to the nice staff at check-in desk. It was a first floor room but we liked it even better as more of a "patio" facing the restaurant and walkway. Good for people watching and sipping wine. The restaurants, Sports Bar and Coffee Shop VERY expensive - too much so. A major thorn in my side was finding out upon pulling up to check in that self-pay parking is outrageous. Almost persuades people to "valet park" for a few dollars more. People should not have to pay to self park their car and walk a long way to retrieve it. I would not stay at this hotel again for that reason only. The nickel and dime amounts really add up. Great location/close to Disney and romantic.” Mar 7, 2008 by
Liz from North Charleston, SC
“Gaylord Palms is definitely a resort quality hotel, with an inviting decor and warm, friendly staff. The location was perfect, within 5 minutes from Disney parks.” Mar 6, 2008 by
David from Coral Gables, FL
“The hotel is very charming. Perfect for a getaway with or without the kids. Though I would definitely consider the hotel a "resort" it is not to be confused with a luxurious hotel. However, the rooms were neat and impeccably clean. In my opinion that is the most important thing about lodging while on vacation All in all - a great bang for your buck.” Mar 3, 2008 by
Dennis from Virginia Beach, VA
“Highly recommended place to stay. Would definitely stay there again.” Mar 1, 2008 by
Karin from Weston, FL
“Beautiful rooms and landscaping in all common areas. Excellent view of Everglades from hotel room balcony. Excellent restaurant menu at Key West restaurant, service a little slow. Deli style restaurant had limited breakfast choices including a Hormel prepackaged breakfast sandwich which was microwave (this was disappointing quality for a hotel of this star level); seating in the deli area was also very limited.” Feb 29, 2008 by
Paul from Tampa, FL
“The Gaylord Palms is a first class resort property where a family could easily spend a day or two in an eventful, luxurious atmosphere with plenty to do. It is especially comfortable in the hottest summer months when you can easily get lost in its vast tropical setting. The entire venue is smoke free and air conditioned. You sometimes may think you are outside, but in fact you're in one of the largest indoor resorts in the state. Pools are ok, and possibly the only drawback (that is, if you are used to the massive pool / water areas at places like the Marriott World Center, the JW Marriott or Ritz Carlton (Universal) or the Hyatt Grand Cypress. The adult-only pool offers a great escape from kids. I've stayed here twice and would return any day.” Feb 28, 2008 by
Milly from Sarasota
“I checked in at 9:30 when I went into my room the pillowcases were dirty as well as the bathroom. When I complained they didn't change my room but by 11:30 PM they did bring me up pillowcases so I could change the pillows. The next morning they cleaned my room changed the sheets and supposedly cleaned the bathroom the shower was still moldy and the toilet looks like its never been cleaned behind it or around it. The hidden resort fee is ridiculous and so is the parking fee. My daughter thought it looked like a castle on the outside what a joke. If you want to stay somewhere nice and clean stay at the Ginn Reunion resort .” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 28, 2008 by

“The Hotel is wonderful clean, close to everything, and excellent facilities. however, you also have to pay either $18.00 for valet parking or $12.00 for self parking per day. Also, there is a $15.00 per day "resort fee" plus tax for items such as a newspaper, gym access, etc which should be free of charge in the first place. These charges are deceptive.” Feb 28, 2008 by
Matt from Livonia, MI
“Very nice hotel but I was very disappointed with the (hidden fees) such as a hotel fee for the pool and work out room which we didn't even use and fee for valet parking that was not disclosed to us when using it. I like to tip but not a fee on top of it!” Feb 27, 2008 by
Sharon from Tampa, FL
“Absolutely beautiful with wonderful service. Would definitely do this again but hopefully for a longer period of time.” Feb 26, 2008 by
Terri from Seattle, WA
“Great hotel, close to Disneyworld. Great grounds. Only thing I used to a suite with kitchen other than that was a great place.” Feb 26, 2008 by
Jessica from Wedgefield, SC
“The hotel obviously caters to the business class and conventions. The staff was a bit snooty, and not overly friendly, but they were efficient. The room was lovely and clean. The location could not possibly be any more convenient to Disney.” Feb 25, 2008 by
Mary R. from Norridge, IL
“The resort is beautiful and well kept. The staff is very friendly & knowledgeable. The hotel is very convenient for travelers visiting Walt Disney world & don't want to stay on Disney property. The complimentary shuttle is a plus.” Feb 25, 2008 by
Jen from Glendale, NY
“I liked everything about this hotel except for the fee they charge. I don't understand why they charge for the parking and facility. I had to pay about $30 for both each day.” Feb 25, 2008 by
Harold from Smyrna, GA
“The Gaylord Palms is an incredible resort very close to all the Orlando attractions.” Hotel Representatives:
