• The amenities were amazing. The hotel was gorgeous.
• Restaurant prices were way too high.

“The hotel itself was absolutely gorgeous. The rooms were comfortable. From the swimming pools to the shopping to the courteous staff, this hotel exceeded all expectations. The restaurants are very expensive and precluded our participating. I would, however, stay there again.”

• I like the variety of dining options and the 24 hour coffee shop.
• My room was dusty and the in-room coffee maker didn't work.

“This hotel is like a tropical paradise minus the pesky critters. It has so many dining options to choose from, you don't ever have to leave the hotel. I loved the fact that one swimming pool was reserved for adults only, while the other pool had all of the fun stuff that kids/families like. I was looking for a peaceful relaxing weekend in the sun, and I got it.”

• I love the location, and the pool.
• The price for valet parking, $20 a day is outrageous. Should be able to order food, the pool. By a waiter, I didn't like to go to the bar.

“This hotel is great. Staff is very friendly, hotel is clean and the food is good. The pool was great. I didn't like the cost of valet or when we were at the pool the waiter only served drinks. I had to get up and walk to the bar. Being 8 months pregnant and having a 2 year old that was very inconvenient.”

• Unique and gorgeous interior areas of hotel. Heated and family friendly pool.
• $15 daily parking fee in addition to daily resort fee.

“Dramatic interior atrium complete with castle, streams, buyout boardwalk and even alligators and turtles. Family friendly with a heated pool (yes, even in Florida this makes a big difference), mini golf (that adults would enjoy and find good practice), and a kids club. Breakfast buffet was the quality you'd expect and the indoor seating in the massive atrium gives such a cheery start to the day.”

• We loved looking out from balcony into the Courtyard, simply breathtaking!
• The check in clerk told us there was no King size beds and the bellman got us one. Great guy!

“Our stay at the Gaylord Palms Resort was by far the best resort we lodged at. We were estatic when the Gaylord Palms Resort came up on the screen as our place of lodging. This was our 9th Anniversary, and to have this resort chosen for us it was like a dream come true.”

• Gigantic. Beautiful room views if you get an atrium view room.
• My first room I checked in smelled heavily like cigarettes, and I was traveling with a baby.

“Enjoyed it. The atrium views is magnificent. Walking around the hotel was beautiful. It can be a little bit annoying because its huge. If you don't have an atrium view than its not that great.”

• It is a beautiful resort and well maintained.
• The bed was not as comfortable as I hoped for and not a child proof.

“I was surprised that our room was not child proof. Its too easy for children to get hurt and I was constantly on alert for hidden dangers for my grandson. The hotel was very beautiful though and the family pool was very nice, also.”

• Staff was helpful and provided great customer service, the hotel was clean and the decor was beautiful.
• The rooms could have been a little bit cleaner, have a toddler that crawls which seemed to find items on the floor.

“Like stated above all was excellent, except for having a toddler that crawls, wish the carpeting was vacuumed very well.”

• The atrium of the hotel was gorgeous!
• The check in associate said she was upgrading our room and our room had no view other than the top of a building.

“It was a very nice hotel. I just didn't appreciate the associate stating she was upgrading our room to the Evergreen atrium and when we arrived in our room there was no view to the atrium. It was blocked by the roof of a building that was down below.”

• The boat restaurant was great fro kids and all the shops as well as the pool area for kids. Loved our view from our balcony.
• It took us a few hours to figure out where everything was. Should not have to pay for parking other resorts that are nicer don't charge.

“Rooms were very roomy and nice. View from our balcony was great. The kids pool area was a big hit. Overall nice place to stay even with the kids. Paying for parking, resort fee was high for what it included.”

• Atriums are lovely at dusk.
• Pool did not have enough lounge chairs, we had to sit on the concrete.

“This hotel is very convenient to Celebration or Disney. It's very large but attractive. While it has a convention center it's still family friendly. I had to pay an extra resort fee of $16.95 per day and $12.84 self parking per day on check out. So that added up to an extra $30 a day which I'm not pleased with.”

• It was just as I saw on the Internet; so I was not disappointed.
• Meals a little pricey; but sort of expected.

“I loved the experience. It was my anniversary and my husband & I walked around in the nice cool atmosphere of the atrium cover. I really enjoyed myself it was great. Our room was very clean, which is very important to me.”

• 16.00 Per day resort fee + either 12.00 self parks or 18.00 valet park - all adds up.

“This hotel was a beautiful hotel, after arriving at the hotel I wished that I would have left some time on my busy schedule to simply lounge around the pool area. Unfortunately my schedule required me to by gone from the hotel from 8:00 am to around midnight everyday, which is why I was disappointed in the mandatory resort fee.”

• The atrium was the best feature.
• They nickel and dime you for everything. View, extra $40; Parking, $20; Resort fee, $20.

“It was a nice hotel, but low on activities and they charged their guests a lot of extra fees (Parking, views, resort fee etc.) All in all, not worth the price.”

• Kid Friendly, excellent location, beautiful place.
• Don't let them talk you in to upgrading. I did and I ended up with several fee's for parking etc., that I wouldn't of otherwise.

“Excellent stop in Orlando close to all the major attractions or the resort has enough to do to stay without leaving. My 7 year old every time we would approach the hotel in the car would refer to the hotel as Beauty.”

• Separate substantially sized pool areas for adults and children only is a plus for Orlando area.
• Convenient location but difficult signage to find hotel first time.

“The massive 4.5 acre indoor space complete with raised wooden walkways is a plus in in climate weather. The two separate outdoor pool areas for adults and children is a plus for those wanting to get away from the child oriented Disney crows. Front desk was pleasant when we arrived at 4 am due to delayed flights and give us immediate access to our room. Rooms were great, double sinks and glassed-in showers. Each room also has a computer for complementary use. Didn't appreciate the $15/day resort fee. Why don't they just increase the price of their rooms up front? $12/day parking was fee an annoyance as well. Overall a pleasant experience. I would definitely return.”

• The staff, from the valets, gardeners, waiters, housekeepers, were so friendly and helpful.
• There were quite a few areas blocked off for special events in the atrium.

“My experience at the Gaylord Palms was very positive. The staff (every one that I met) were so friendly and helpful. I was traveling with family that included young children under 4 years of age and they were treated like royalty by all the staff. I had such a wonderful experience that if I find myself in the Kissimmee area again I will try and book the Gaylord Palms.”

• The lobby areas were beautiful.
• Given a poor view and room with dirty walls when better rooms were most certainly available.

“The hotel is beautiful in the public spaces. The pool was nice. My daughter enjoyed the waterslide; however, the hotel did not provide a lifeguard at the children's pool and there were some older boys rough housing a bit too much. My daughter was almost hit in the head with a football that should not have been allowed in the pool. In addition, later on the boys were going down the slide four at a time, which was an accident waiting to happen. My daughter could not use the slide while they were there. Our room was acceptable; however, the view was of the parking lot and there were plenty of rooms available with better views. The resort fee was $16.95 per day and parking was $12.84 per day, in addition to what we pay for the room. A parking fee is ridiculous for guests that are staying at the hotel, the hotel has vast amounts of land and they are across the street from a cow pasture. It is not like you are in a big city with limited parking. It is just another fee. Our stay was ok.”

• The pool was closed, water turned off from noon till 330, construction, terrible.

“I was very disappointed with this hotel. We were there for 6 days, thankfully, we spent most of our time at Disney World. The pool was closed; the water was turned off at 1130 to 330. We were awakened in the morning to the sound of saws and hammering.”

• This hotel put us into the Presidential Suite. What an awesome experience. My daughter felt like a princess and my wife a queen.
• They charge for parking. Always a negative in my book.

“The hotel is beautiful, the service is friendly, the pool is heated and it's close to the parks. An awesome family hotel even though they concentrate on conventions. We will be back.”

• The family pool area was fabulous.
• The resort fee of $15 and the parking of $12.

“The Gaylord Palms is a beautiful resort with many great qualities. The family pool area is fantastic for families with any aged children. Our room was very clean and spacious. The refrigerator a plus for our six month old baby's food. The only negatives I have are the $15.00 resort fee and the $12.00 parking fee. Great resort.”

• Too long to get to rooms from parking lot and lobby.

“I was not happy with this hotel for lots of reasons. When we checked in after a long day at Disney they gave us a dirty room. then after I called to let them know no one apologized! They said they would send someone up to clean it. I suggested a new room so we wouldn't have to wait. After a half an hour of waiting and no staff member I called back down o the lobby and was told "it was in their system." But, I said they're not here. We finally got into the new room. Nightmare over no! The key swipe in the new room only worked for the first swipe and would then erase the memory so every time we came back to the room from a long day at the park we couldn't access the room. We would have to walk back down to the lobby (a long hike) for them to reprogram it. This was promised to be fixed everytime to no avail. The best part is because the room key didn't work access to the self park was not available. We had to valet the car which oh wait for it was $20 each time! Not to mention resort fees of $16 per day! For the money you spend you would think the service would be a notch or two higher. I would have been better off at a Quality Inn for the service I received at this resort!”

• There are fees, but, we knew about them and expected them.

“We were able to take two families down to Orlando for 7 days and enjoy the indoor atrium, excellent housekeeping, 24 hour pool, and great location to Disney parks. Our friends took advantage of the hotel's bus to Disney, but we drove it on our own. I would be thrilled to go back to the Gaylord Palms.”

• Pool slide was closed during our visit.

“I have to say I was a little nervous because the Gaylord Palms was the least expensive of the resort class hotels in Orlando, but I was pleasantly surprised! The place is amazing - you could literally not leave the hotel and still feel like you'd been on vacation. The interior is like nothing I've seen - stone forts, live alligators, a boat on water, amazing sand castle displays. My kids loved walking through all the paths and hidden walkways in the atrium. The heated outdoor pool was huge and there was a separate adult only pool also. We ate on the boat in the atrium and the kids were enthralled by the fire-eating woman and balloon maker on stilts who visited our table during the meal. This place really is amazing - it is worth the parking and resort fee that everyone complains about and it's right by the Disney entrance.”

• The atmosphere was dynamite. It was visually stunning.
• The bed pillows were quite poor and well past their prime.

• Very elaborate public areas, great kids pool.
• Noisy conference going on and was somewhat disruptive.

“Overall, it was a great experience. Very pleased with the hotel. Only problem was that we extended our stay. The hotel had this as 2 reservations and checked us out after the first one resulting in us getting locked out of the hotel at night.”
