• The location was nice and the restaurant was great.
• One of the 3 elevators did not work. They charged an extra fee that was not disclosed.

“For the price we obtained the hotel, it was an outstanding value. However, I'm not certain that I couldn't have done better on my own after the hotel assessed their fees. We left a night earlier than planned and, while I did not expect a refund, I certainly didn't expect they would still charge their fee. Especially since they said part of the fee was for parking and we were obviously not going to be parking there.”

• The hotel staff were super friendly, in room fridge, microwave, and safe.
• The beds were awful and painfully to sleep on the bed linens had several cigarette burns.

“The hotel staff were very friendly!! The beds were terribly painful to sleep on of which had a noticeable dip in the middle. The bed linens (blankets) were paper thin and as a person who likes to sleep with air conditioning, I had to suffer with the uncomfortable Florida humidity because my wife and children were cold. I also believe the air conditioners have internal thermostats to save the hotel money because we could not get the room much below 70 degrees during the day. I received three additional blankets from the friendly front desk to finish out our vacation in comfort but two of the blankets had cigarette burn holes in them. The mugs and glasses in the room looked very dirty and housekeeping never changed them despite generous daily tipping Disgusting and unsanitary! The pool was great, bring your room towels and bug spray for no-seeums and mosquitoes (probably due to recent heavy rains). The game room was like a small converted closet, about 5 games, 2 of which didn't work. They have a small laundry room where I was fortunate to step in a large puddle of water while completing my wash on my third day because of a water leak. The vending machines were removed prior to my stay and the front desk only offered drinks. There is no doubt that this hotel should have been a 1 star economy hotel. They charge a 2.50 hotel service charge per night which is not much but after several disappointments it was icing on the cake.”

• Poorly designed rooms and bathrooms.

“Overall the hotel was very nice and clean. Staff at the front desk were very friendly but the cleaning crew was not very friendly. All in all not a bad hotel for business or leisure travel but not very family friendly.”

“I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Their shower didn't work. With no water pressure and the water temperature not adjusting, we were forced to wash in the sink. The hotel did have a nice restaurant attached, but you can eat there without staying the night.”

• The friendliness of the front desk was a welcome delight.
• Did not really "dislike" them, but the accommodations were simply basic.

“This hotel is in a convenient location in easy walking distance to restaurants and shopping nearby. Since it's not a new hotel, the rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. We stayed here before we moved to a Disney resort for the remainder of our trip, and it was perfect for our needs. I would stay in this hotel again.”

• The hotel staff was very unfriendly. It took me 30 minutes to check in because they were talking among themselves.

“The hotel had been remodeled (paint) but there was mold coming through on the ceiling in the bathroom. And the hotel had a strange smell. It worked for my 2 day stay and I might would stay there again.”

• Location is great for those going to Disney World.
• Beds are small and not very comfortable.

“Hotel is very average in terms of comfort and cleanliness. However, it's location to Disney World and low cost maybe worth it to people looking to be close to the park, without paying Disney Hotel prices.”

• Fantastic location.
• Public areas needed refurbishment, aggressive timeshare pitch at "ticket sales" desk.

“We got a room with a refrigerator and microwave. The room looked like it had been refurbished recently. It was clean and basic but nothing outstanding. A few days into our stay, we did have a problem with ants in the closet and bathroom. We notified the front desk and they took care of it, and we did not see any more ants in the room the rest of the stay. We were primarily looking for a place to lay our heads between visits to the Disney parks, and this fit the bill well. The location in proximity to Disney is wonderful.”

• The front counter manager, clerks and staff were very friendly and helpful. I loved the comfort ness of the beds and cleanliness of the rooms.

• The location to WDW was great!
• The hotel staff was not too friendly/helpful.

“This hotel was in great proximity to Wald Disney World. It sure beat paying the price of one of their resorts since we spent most days at a theme park rather than at the room. The staff wasn't the best, though. The only room available upon check in was the handicap room. Every time we used the shower it flooded the bathroom floor. The next day we were able to be get a regular room; which turned out fine.”

“This hotel was perfect. The lady that checked me in was very friendly and she was helpful when I asked her for directions to where we were going. Sometimes I wonder what the condition of the hotel and rooms are in. I was pleasantly surprised how clean the hotel was.”

• Next to a Denny's restaurant.
• Paint peeling, dirty door frame, slow draining sink, worn linens.

“I would not recommend the Clarion Main Gate to other travelers. The paint was peeling, the drain in the sink was very slow, the sheets and blanket were very worn, and the bed was very hard and lumpy. Also, the bed was a regular double, rather than a queen that is expected at the 3-star hotel. The interior is mostly painted in yellow, which was faded and dirty.”

“On check-in staff was very pleasant. Room was clean but seemed a little dated, past it's "use before" date! Pool was clean, but nothing special. Location was great for Animal Kingdom and all things Disney.”

“The first room we got had a few problems (fuzzy TV, phone had static, curtain would not close), but they quickly changed us and upgraded us for free to a nicer room with a king bed, fridge and microwave and it was really nice.”

• Dirty room, filthy curtains, filthy bathroom, water running in shower would not stop, filthy carpet, whole hotel smelled in general.

• Noisy, tacky location, safe fee, timeshare pressure, small, no breakfast.

“This hotel was ok, but did not offer a free breakfast. The area was not my favorite, though it was close to Disney, but far from the airport. The hallways were noisy at night. The bathroom was tiny and old looking. There was no microwave or refrigerator. The TV did not always get good reception. There was not enough parking. They charged a safe fee even if it was not used. Did not like the Kissimmee location overall, but hotel was clean and affordable.”

• The room was spacious and very comfortable. I really liked the layout of the room.
• I did not like the restaurant for breakfast.

“This hotel was in a good location and close to allot of things. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. The 3rd bed (sleeper sofa) was separate from the beds which made for a nice private area. I liked that there was a refrigerator and microwave and coffee maker. I was very unhappy with the breakfast restaurant. I've stayed at another Clarion in Orlando and there was a continental breakfast which had more to offer than this "breakfast buffet" which you had to pay for. Food was obviously not fresh and even juice was not included in price. Overall a good place to stay, but eat at one the many restaurants nearby.”

• Either some staff doesnt speak English very well, or just not very friendly.

“Staff at the front desk was very helpful and welcoming upon our arrival. The hotel was very clean and we were pleased with housekeeping. However some of the housekeeping weren't that friendly. When ever we said "good morning " or "hello" they would just look at us like aliens or totally ignore us. Also the woman who worked the pool area one evening was not too friendly. One night someone had put the life saver rings in the pool and she automatically assumed that my children had done it because they were playing with them, she was very irate and told them "these are not toys!" then she saw my youngest child stand on the gate that separates the large pool from the kiddies pool and the gate opened. So she assumed that he broke the gate. Saying "that is not how you open it! See it's broken already!" I had to check her that time.”

• Check in was quick and easy. The room was real clean and spacious.
• Truthfully nothing everything was to my expectations.

“My experience in this hotel was great. I traveled with my spouse and nephew and we all had a good time. The arcade was nice and clean so was the lobby. The staff from the check in to the security guards was friendly and courteous.”

• Hotel was rather worn and tired.

“This hotel was in a great location not far from Disney World, with lots of budget restaurants within walking distance. The staff was friendly and efficient. The rooms and bedding were clean, but very worn. Coin operated washers & dryers were located on-site. A good choice for the budget minded traveler.”

“Very disappointing. Clarion name is misleading. Looks like an old 60's hotel that Clarion put it's name on, along with some cheap paint. Interior is disgusting.”

• The staff was friendly and efficient. The hotel, though a little dated, was very well maintained and clean. Elevators all running and speedy.
• Low lighting. Lack of hot water. No explanation of TV channels (supposed to have HBO but couldn't access it)

“This was a fine hotel. We were fortunate to stay at the Rosen Centre a couple years ago for the same price & it is nowhere near that. We were much happier with it than we were with the DoubleTree at Universal which was utter chaos. The staff at the Clarion were all very friendly & efficient. The cleaning staff were amazing. I can't remember the last time I stayed at a hotel where the beds were so well made & the room so well cleaned. This was also the first hotel we stayed at where we didn't need to request additional towels.The parking was close by & nobody tried to sell us a timeshare (very rare in FL). I would definately stay here again. My only issue is that I'm not a great fan of the location on the Irlo Bronson Hwy but on the plus side, it is very close to the Disney parks which was great. Please pass on to the hotel the great job they are doing. I told them when we checked out that we enjoyed our stay.”

• The pool was great.
• The decor could use updating.

“We had a great stay at the Clarion. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool was wonderful. The water temperature was about ninety degrees, making swimming on the cool January days absolutely delightful. My only complaint was the shuttle. The Magic Kingdon closed at 7 PM on the day we were there. The shuttle picked up at about 6PM and 10 PM. We ended up taking the monorail to Epcot and getting the 8:55 PM shuttle, but it would make sense to have a shuttle come to the Magic Kingdom shortly after closing.”

• We were especially pleased with the cleanliness. We loved the little perks of mouth wash, lotions, bowtie toilet paper, and swam shaped towels.
• They forgot the condiments for the coffee maker.

“We were first time visitors and were surprisingly pleased. The hotel was as nice as many of the 3 star or even 4 star hotels we've stayed at in the area. The lobby may not have been as fancy but was clean and comfortable. We liked the fact of the micro and frig, iron and board, hair dryer, and electrical outlets in convenient locations.”

“Over all our hotel was okay, however I was very disappointed that we were there for 6 days and our bathroom was never swept or scrubbed. The other disappointing thing we discovered when checking out of the hotel was that we were charged for a long distance phone call that we did not make and were forced to charge it to our Discover card. On top of that, the charges listed in the column did not add up to equal the total charge. We were charged more than what the line items should have totaled. My wife called the hotel manager the next day and got the charges removed from our account and our Discover card was supposed to be credited.”

“The hotel we stayed at - Clarion Maingate in Florida was quite a disappointment. The decoration outside was nice but the rooms were not quite as nice. This could have been more of a resort. The pool didn't look welcoming and we never used the hotel facilities. On top of it, they didn't do a good job of cleaning the glasses when we came back from the park. Not the best hotel in Kissimmee”
