• The bed was comfortable and the room was a good size.
• The ceiling leaked all night long, could not sleep. Free shuttle should be available on the week ends till at least 12 am.

• Excellent, clean, friendly staff, wonderful.
• Charged $16 for parking valet service added free.

“This hotel is built to be convenient to Cleveland Clinic, and the neighborhood is suited only for Clinic visitors, but it is a great hotel, great staff, very clean and spacious rooms, very long menu for room service but very expensive. Excellent experience.”

• Extremely clean, large well designed rooms, pleasant valets and good rates.
• Check in staff was abrupt though not actively rude. To be fair, all other staff very professional.

• Location was horrendous, room was tiny, no self-parking.

“The hotel's location was not downtown or even close to it which was very disappointing. The rooms were tiny and not suites, rooms at Comfort Inns or Super 8s were much bigger. There was no self-parking either, only valet, which we weren't happy with.”

• We asked 3 std. rooms; they had 2 mini-suites and 1 std.; Thank you.
• Can't think of a thing.

“This hotel was a smooth running ship; so smooth that I thought they were at 10% occupancy, but the front desk told me that they were at 100%. Our bathroom was the biggest bathroom I ever saw in a hotel (actually 2 rooms). The courtesy van, used for hospital and museum shuttles, voluntarily drove us to the 'Little Italy' section of Cleveland (WOW! That's service). And to top of it the hotel was located in the best area to be in (University Circle - the cultural heart of Cleveland). And to make you really envious The Blue Angels jet team was practicing directly overhead for a Labor Day Show.”

“It was clean, staff was nice. But don't stay here unless you are there on business or visiting the clinic. It is not near any of the attractions. Not a neighborhood I would want to visit on vacation. There is a Police Station across the street.”

• All suites.
• Location. Cleveland Clinic. Seemed like a hospital - smelled like a hospital. My perception.

“If you have a need to stay at the Cleveland Clinic - this is a comfortable suite hotel with amenities you are looking for (meals, bar, business center). If you are looking to be downtown, you are a $20 cab away.”

“The area around hotel was less than desirable and felt somewhat unsafe. The rooms were nice and clean, but showing age. Soiled carpet, wallpaper showing wear. All of hotel guest books in room all pages had been torn out except room service menu.”

• It has nice decor.
• The location was under construction, hard to get to, said they'd have my car in 5min and it took 20min. I was not happy.

“There was dirt in the sink after they cleaned up, they were slow, and offered no compensation. It was all under construction so there was no self park, so you were forced to pay a parking fee. They said they'd have the car pulled around in 5 min, and it took 20 min, so I was late, and wasn't able to have breakfast. They charge $10 for a juice, tea, and a Danish or muffin. I was not happy with this hotel.”

• Hotel was very close and convenient to hospitals which is why we were there, visiting my brother.
• Too few staff working weekend; housekeeper did not return coffee pot or juice/water glasses, took extra roll of toilet paper we requested earlier.

“Inter-Continental Suites Hotel is upscale, very attractive and clean. The room was spacious and offered the feel of an apartment rather than a hotel room. The amenities of refrigerator, microwave, fitness center, on-call service at anytime, on site dining facilities, and valet parking. Although the valet parking is a benefit, the entrance is a parking jam and needs to be expanded. The location is very convenient to hospitals and Case Western Reserve University, Little Italy and shopping.”

• The valets worked hard.
• No smoking even outside - paying for parking.

“This hotel might be a nice place, but there is so much construction going on around it made it very hard to get to and no one bothered to warn us about that. The parking was valet only, we didn't know that either, and $16.00 a night added on is a bit ridiculous, we already were paying for a room, eating in the restaurant, but when you have to pay extra just to park so you can spend your money there is just greed. We have business in Cleveland often, but we will never stay there again.”

• The bed and linens were very comfortable. The bathroom was lovely with wonderful lemon scented soaps. Financial times was a nice feature.
• Staff does not seem to be managed or very satisfied with their employ.

“Entry- Bellmen watched me struggle with all bags while I opened the non automatic door, due to construction. Cigarette butts everywhere around the entrance and in the tree areas and bushes. A complimentary chiller of water with fruit at the entrance would've been nice and is standard at most hotels of this rating. Check-In- Attempted to check in early and was told to return in an hour for early check-in. We went to the room as directed and the room was not ready. We then were sent to another room at which point I walked in on a man still staying in that room. These things happen, but no accommodations were made. We left our bags in the unmade room and attended to our business, nothing else was ever mentioned of this odd occurrence. A simple message on the hotel phone apologizing for the inconvenience would've gone a long way. Room- Once settled, the room is lovely and comfortable. Amenities- No newspaper outside door in the morning. A feature we expected. Breakfast- Overpriced and little value. Do not dine here for breakfast. The menu for the buffet indicated several features that have to be requested like: Salmon and cheese - It dries out, but we have it available in the kitchen if you would like it. Orange juice- I am not sure why the orange juice dispenser was empty, but we requested juice and it was brought to us. I believe the chaffing pans were installed backwards as the lids completely collapsed to the rear when opening them, thus making it very difficult to open the lids, serve yourself and then close the lid with the sneeze cover limiting how far one can reach. At breakfast we asked if we could sit outside in the lovely patio area and we were told it was closed. When we left breakfast there was a couple sitting outside enjoying the lovely morning reading their paper. We would've gladly ordered from the menu and not have gotten the buffet if it meant we could enjoy the lovely patio.”

• Beds were comfortable.
• Pull out couch not clean - there was food in the bed when I pulled it out.

“We were very upset when we finally got to the entrance. After driving for four hours and then not being able to get through the road construction to the actual entrance even with GPS was very frustrating. It took 15 minutes to get to the hotel, with the hotel in site, because every road was under construction and blocked with barrels and barricades and "Do not enter" signs. Then the hotel entrance and lobby were being renovated with only one elevator in operation. So all in all it was not our idea of a 4 star stay - and it was not as near downtown as we had requested.”

• Bed was comfortable and room was clean. I liked 2 TV's and wet bar.
• Very loud. Could hear everybody. People next door slamming doors and draws. People above us sounded like they were moving furniture.

• Its proximity to Cleveland Clinic.
• Not close to downtown or shopping areas.

“Everything about this hotel is either good or excellent. It is very clean, quiet, and comfortable. But the location of the hotel is not convenient unless you want to spent most of your time in University Circle. Right now, there is construction going on inside and around the hotel, making it very inconvenient getting in and out.”

• Convenient to the Cleveland Clinic.
• Did not live up to Intercontinental standards.

“The Intercontinental Suites Hotel is conveniently located to the Cleveland Clinic. It is directly across the street from the Cancer Center, and a shuttle is available to other Clinic locations. The hotel staff is friendly and accommodating, but the Intercontinental Suites did not live up to its four-star rating. The sheers on the windows had as many hooks off the rod as on. The in-room safe did not work; the coffee maker leaked all over the counter; and the television system (for movies/internet, etc) consistently said 'please try again in a few minutes'. It was all little things, but at the Intercontinental brand hotels, the little things are usually taken care of. Not so much at this location. I was disappointed. I was in town attending a conference at the Intercontinental Hotel (not the Intercontinental Suites,) and this hotel appeared to live up to my expectations of the IC brand. The Intercontinental Suites is not a four-star location, but it provides adequate accommodations for Cleveland Clinic visitors.”

• The neighborhood isn't too great.

“For the money, we have enjoyed staying at this hotel twice this year. It is clean, close to Case Western, and the beds are very comfortable. The rooms are very large and were a little noisy, as we had someone practicing a musical instrument in the room next door for over two hours...”

“The hotel staff were extremely helpful, polite and friendly. Our suite was clean, tastefully decorated, quiet and well equipped. I was particularly pleased with the quality of the bedding, there was a wonderful duvet cover which eliminated the worries one has over using hotel bedspreads. If you are going to be in the Cleveland Area and need to be near the Cleveland Clinic I would recommend the Intercontinental Suites.”

• Location is good for hospital visitors, but otherwise is isolated.

• Friendly and helpful staff. Clean. Beautiful public areas. Good food.
• This hotel is quite out of the way. There was no pool. And Wi-Fi was not included. Nor was parking.

“This hotel exceeded my expectations. I read some bad reviews about it but we were all satisfied. The suites were big and comfortable and clean. We all liked that the windows could be opened. The staff was great, friendly and very helpful. No problem with a late check out. The hotel restaurant was quite good. Best club sandwich I've ever had. Its classy enough to be a four star but lacks some of the amenities like a pool and free Wi-Fi. For this reason I think it should be rated a 3 star.”
