• Great service, nice ambiance.
• Our room was near an exit, and people leaving the hotel bar woke us up during the night repeatedly.

“The hotel was quite nice. The front desk clerks were excellent, though the cleaning staff repeatedly asked us when we were planning to leave (even after we had already told them we would be checking out on time). The machines in the exercise room were not in great shape, but they worked. The room & bathroom were both very nice. The breakfast was not included (10$ extra for a very limited buffet-style breakfast). Minor cosmetic problems included broken stand-offs on the toilet seat (the little plastic pegs under the seat). Overall we were quite happy.”

• The bartender was nice and knowledgeable.
• When we checked in - we were sent to a dirty filthy room.

“From the moment I walked into the room I knew this was going to be bad. We were told we would have a king bed. We received two doubles. The bedspread on one of the beds was filthy with huge black marks on the bed and hair on the pillow. The staff got us to a different room. Then they did not clean the next day. Everyday we had to get our key cards reactivated. Do not stay at this hotel.”

• Was very conveniently located to freeway, shopping and dining.
• Microwave, and breakfast, not in all rooms or free.

“Very convenient to I-77 and to downtown Akron. From description, I expected a mini-fridge & microwave in the room, not there. Free breakfast wasn't there either. Overall, nice hotel and friendly staff.”

• In good location for variety of vacation hot spots.
• 3 star hotel that spent 2 mill up grading should have had TV's.

“Clean, good location, nice room. Just needs a little more for a 3 star hotel. Up scale restaurant is actually 4 star to the 3 star hotel.”

• Lobby was modern, staff was friendly and helpful.
• Fire alarm went on during breakfast and went on for about 15 minutes, plus lousy breakfast.

“Holiday Inns need to stop trying to remodel their hotels. They would be better to knock this one down and build a new facility on the site. The breakfast was expensive and very poor quality. The fire alarm rang for about 15 minutes during breakfast. The restaurant took $4.00 off our bills for that inconvenience, but they should have donated the breakfast. Rooms were only so-so and had issues such as doors that do not close firmly and seal well. The key had to be entered numerous times to get the locks to work. This was definitely not a 3 star hotel.”

• Had been recently upgraded and was clean.
• Toilet wasn't anchored properly to floor but rather to wall.

“Hotel recently upgraded and was clean. Only problem was that they had attempted to anchor the toilet to the wall rather than floor and it rattled every time you used it. Not really a great big problem; just an annoyance.”

“The staff was friendly and attentive, the room was clean and comfortable, the location is great with dining movies supplies etc so near by. We enjoyed the pool and the workout area. Overall a great time.”

• The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were very spacious and the bathrooms were beautifully decorated.
• The free high speed internet service was pretty unreliable. I did not report it so I really can not complain about it.

“I would stay in this hotel again anytime. The location is so handy to restaurants, shopping, and attractions. The rooms are nice, and we were very satisfied with the guest services. We did not take advantage of the restaurant, the lounge, or the pool, but all three looked nice. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.”

• Bed was comfortable and we were given vouchers for a free continental breakfast and got a newspaper free.
• The AC made a terrible noise and the room had a terrible odor when the AC was not running.

• Lots of nearby restaurants and shopping.
• Swimming pool was not open yet and it was early June.

“The Holiday Inn West is a quality, no-frills hotel. The rooms are clean and nicely appointed. The bathrooms were recently remodeled and all the rooms feature new mattresses. The adjacent steakhouse is an excellent restaurant and the lobby bar and cafe is almost equally impressive.”

• I had some issues with rowdy neighbors and the manager handled it in the best possible way! She was wonderful and went above my expectations.
• Had some difficulty with the phones through the night and night staff did not respond.

“The facility was nice and clean. Location was very good as well. The staff seemed friendly and professional. We had one issue with noisy neighbors and faulty phones and the night staff did not handle it at all. When I complained the next morning, the staff was eager to assist us and went above and beyond to assist us. Due to that, we will go back for sure.”

“Located on a major street. There are many shopping centers and restaurants around. Just half a mile off the highway however they need a more visible sight. At the first attempt, we passed by the hotel and didn't even see the sight.”

“The room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. I was happy with the free internet, but disappointed that the Lodgenet TV wouldn't allow me to hook up my DVD player. The public areas were a bit shabby, but overall, it was above average for this star rating and for a Holiday Inn.”

“The hotel was in the process of remodeling, but unfortunately we did not have a newly done room. Our accommodations were ok, though not 3 star. We were in the non smoking section and one thing I did appreciate was that there was no smoke odor at all.”

• Service personnel at the desk were very accommodating.
• Doing some renovation work.

“I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel because all the reviews indicated that it was tending toward being "filthy" and rundown. It appears that they are in the process of renovating and we had a brand new carpet in our room. The bathroom (contrary to other reviews) was spotless and the "plumbing" all seemed to work. Also, the hotel staff that I dealt with was all incredibly polite. I don't agree that it should be rated as 3-star, but all in all, I had a great experience.”

• The Bacon was Crispy and there was hot water immediately when Shower turned on.
• Problem with wake up call & couldnt open deck door.

“Im a little Critical but no major complaints for this hotel. Staff was not only friendly but Helpful. Their food tasted like real food. I was not promised two double beds when I bought my two rooms And I was fully aware of this when I purchased the rooms, But the hotel staff came through and gave me rooms with two double beds! Thanks.”

“Air conditioner did not work initially, and then was extremely loud when it started working. Tub was plugged and we had to stand in dirty water while showering. They said that it would be first-come, first-serve at the time of check-in.”
