  • Very load in hallway for over 2 hours!

“Called and complained about kids screaming in hallways. Waited until 10pm to call and it last until 2AM. Never heard security in the hallway. The Manager should have come and handled the situations. I would never recommend this hotel.”

  • The landscape, building and pool area was pleasing to the eye.
  • The hallway carpet and base boards seemed to need replacing.

“Check-in and check-out process was quick and easy. The hotel was quiet. The hotel was a little hidden among a cluster of other hotels. The lobby was clean and inviting. The decor was nice. Loved the flat screen TV in the room. The bathroom was nice except no electrical venting for humidity caused by shower. Therefore, the mirror fogged over. The bathroom decor was nice even though the area was a bit small for my personal liking. I would definitely stay there again.”

“The location was great, the lobby was very attractive and the customer service was great. The hotel room had a water leak in room 336 and my clothes were all wet in my bags and then I realized it came from the closet which was leaking water and the room smelled like wet water.”

  • The hotel lobby was nice, and the work out area was nice although some machines did not work.
  • When I got up to my room I was very disappointed, the rooms were really outdated and stuffy!

“Checked in late, the staff was very friendly, however late that night they gave a key to my husband who surprised me and came up to the hotel around 3 am! I didn't even know he was coming and did not tell them to make a key for anyone, I figured they probably should have called up to the room or something but it was okay because he was welcome to come.”

  • Pool looked nice. Room was nice. Restaurant/bar is nice.
  • Stayed for more than a week. Needed late checkout last day,
    manager was not accommodating.

“Hotel is in a nice secluded location and is a high class hotel that warrants three stars for the most part. Free wireless internet is nice. Pool is nice. Bar and restaurant is nice with good food. One little thing
I noticed was that there is a rural home next door with many pet dogs which can make quite a raucous at various times during the day or night.
I stayed for more than a week and needed a late checkout on the last day. However the manager was not accommodating or friendly at all and basically kicked me out.
I had a great experience overall except for that ending which left me with a sour taste.”

  • Quailty of the room.
  • The TV in the room was updated and the lighting was poor.

“For the business traveler it is good. The only problem I have is the poor lighting in the room. Again what is with the low wattage bulbs! You can barely see anything. Also, the TV needs to be upgraded, it was terrible. The restaurant has a great breakfast. The workout facility was clean and all equipment was working.”

  • Business center computer was not working, looks like they no longer offer access if you had a lap-top there apparently was wireless avail.

“Very nice place to stay was close to our destination and reason for coming to Cleveland. It is ideally located for traveling to the downtown or to the easter n suburban areas, lots of restaurants, drug stores, grocery stores, etc. nearby. Would probably stay there again.”

  • My bathroom wasn't clean. There was a piece of a new clothes tag on the floor and no shower cap.

“Of course, I love the cookie and their bathrobes are plush and roomy (even for a plus-size). My bathroom didn't seem to get the attention it deserved. There was a piece of a tag off of new clothing on the floor, a couple of hairs in the shower and no shower cap. I did get room service in the morning. It was extremely fast and they remembered all my specifics. They didn't bring a glass of water with it though. At other hotels I've always gotten a glass of ice water with my meal. Overall, still love the Doubletree.”

  • There are way too many to limit to just 20 words.

“This hotel looked as if it had not been updated since 1970. The check-in agent was dry, unhelpful and curt. Parking was $15.00 per day, no surprise for this area, but I felt like I cheated the valet out of money because I paid the parking fee at the front desk instead of at the curb. The Tucan Tango Restaurant was dark and dank, very unpleasant. The food was average and the wait staff were courteous. We will not stay at this Ramada Inn ever again.”

“I thought a value for the price I paid, although the following was a turn off. One waste basket was not emptied and I really did not appreciate staring at a used q-tip and, I think, dental floss. Come on Double Tree, don't just empty the bags in the can, and replace them.”

“I attempted to shower and brush my teeth in the morning and could not due to the water being discolored as if it were contaminated with rust. The hotel staff did nothing to correct the situation. My plans for Jan 1 were drastically altered to the fact that I had to travel to my home, which is 45 minutes away in order for me and my family to shower and brush our teeth.”

  • The beds were extremely comfortable.
  • There was no breakfast in the hotel except for room service.

“The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept on in any hotel I've stayed in. The Neutrogena products made it feel more like you were home using your own soaps and lotions. The only breakfast offered was room service, but there was a Bob Evans restaurant within walking distance.”

  • The pool is an indoor/outdoor and open late.
  • By 9am, maids were knocking, and told us this is our last room.

“The rooms are alright, nothing great, but the beds are very nice. Our TV didn't work too well, we had to ask three times to get the remote working. The location is very convenient, close to the freeway, not far from downtown or suburbs. Wireless internet in rooms is free, which is great, but it went down often. We loved the pool, however, which is indoor/outdoor, deep enough to swim in, and open late enough that it is useful if your days are full. The hotel was almost empty for most of our trip. We won't return, even though the pool is a great draw, but being awakened each day of our trip by maids, and even being told Well, this is our last room! (at 10:00am)made the experience not as restful as we'd hoped.”

  • Hotel staff was helpful and friendly.
  • Noisy, paper thin walls, bathroom was not completely clean. Hotel was in Independence.

“Nice older hotel. Needs some updating. Nothing was free. Coffee in the morning was $2.00. Candy bars $1.00 and up. Restaurant was overrated. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Television sets in rooms were old and remote controls did not control all of the features. Beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms are small, no vent fans.”

“This hotel used to be a Hilton and I stayed there then and was disappointed but couldn't put my finger on it. When it lost its Hilton name, I wasn't surprised as the quality wasn't up to the Hilton name. While the staff is polite and accommodating, the housekeeping staff makes it feel like an Extended stay with all the doors slamming and yelling in the morning. If I was there on business and had to get up in the AM, I might not mind. As one who wanted to sleep in, I was very disappointed and would not return.”

  • People were friendly and location was comfortable and safe.
  • The room could have been a little cleaner.

“The stay was okay with the exception of the dinner experience. I had eaten at shoal's steakhouse before and was looking forward to one of those expensive but wonderful steaks. It was a huge disappointment, the service, the quality of meat, everything about it was upsetting. It had a negative impact on the entire stay.”

  • It was a great find. We attended the graduation of our niece from John Carroll University and the location and the accommodations met our needs.
  • Nothing.

“I was very surprised to be able to get a hotel room at all for the weekend we stayed. It was graduation weekend at John Carroll and I was sure every hotel in Beachwood would be booked solid. We did not have a whole lot of time to explore or actually enjoy the hotel. I hope we will be able to have that experience at some future date. We do have two college bound sons and we are hoping John Carroll will be the college. That being the case, we'd like to try and stay at the Doubletree in Beachwood just to see what we missed!”
