• Close to where we needed to be for the event we were attending.
• It cost $30.00 for valet parking, to me this is unacceptable.

“The concierge service was terrible in getting our bags to our room. It took them over 45 minutes after I called and asked them where luggage was.”

• We liked the spacious room and the beds were very comfortable. Nice pool and access to mall.
• Chair in room was pretty beat up.

“Our stay was short but we enjoyed the location very much. Outside our window were many squares, with water, greens, benches and busy people. We got a good look at the layout of Cleveland. Our room was large and bright and comfortable and quiet and clean.”

• Charged heavily for parking.

“Rooms are very spacious however because of the location in downtown, you could hear the traffic outside all night long. The pool an the work facility are really nice and the hotel is connected to the Tower City. There are cheaper parking places close by.”

“From the beautiful lobby when we came in to the super friendly staff who checked me in, the other hotel staff was so nice. My son was so excited. He thinks valet is neat. He is 8. Terrific room, nice pool, secret mall attached all were so neat. I will definitely return.”

• Clean and beautiful.
• Bath tub water slow flow when shower is taken. Water backs up in the tub. Area on the wall has black mold.

• It was difficult to find not a lot of signage.

• I liked the valet parking, the entrance of the hotel was also beautiful. The staff and the rooms was wonderful also.
• I did not like that my room did not have a refrigerator. It should have free WiFi.

“Overall my boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The hotel staff was very courteous, helpful and nice. I would have like to have had a refrigerator in the room and free WiFi. Other than that everything was good. The lobby area of the hotel was very beautiful. I would stay here again, and again.”

“The restaurant staff was great. Cookie in the Brasserie, especially! Our room was very small, had an inside view, and smelled like stale air-conditioning (musty). But it was clean and had a nice feel.”

• Old world charm (This was the old Cleveland Hotel) and has great public spaces and convenient access to Tower Center.
• Not really a negative because all upscale hotels put feathers on the bed even with 90 degree weather. A light blanket in the closet would really help.

“Adequate room space and real glasses (not those skimpy plastic kind). Beautiful public space, excellent restaurant, convenient to downtown locations, very solicitous staff, very easy to exit the city from the hotel.”

“Great hotel location, right in the meat of downtown, didn't need to use valet to park, used meters right across from street and was free, shower was great, bed was way too soft for me and left us with a bit of an achy back, overall awesome experience.”

“The hotel itself was very nice. Large rooms and a comfortable bed. The hotel staff was very friendly and a real pleasure. Upon check-in, because the process took longer that expected - which wasn't an issue with me - they provided me and my partner a complimentary breakfast. It was a very nice gesture and really set the mood for our stay. The only disappointment was that the rooms did not have wireless internet access. There was a high-speed Ethernet connection which worked fine, but there was a cost involved. It would have been nice to have a complementary internet access connection.”

• Parking was too expensive, paying for internet access at a business venue is bad.

“The hotel is ok, but the parking is too much ($23 for self park) and internet access is too much for a hotel that mostly caters to business travelers. This facility is very old and no amount of renovation will make it newer. Rooms are very small. I don't feel like this is a 4-star hotel.”

• Internet access is an extra charge. The tub was slow to drain. The air handling system is old.

“The Renaissance Hotel is a beautiful older building that is being kept up to date through renovation. It's attached to the Tower Mall, and is within a short walk from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The staff is friendly and helpful, the beds were comfortable. It was a quiet and lovely place to stay.”

“This was by far one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at. The location is wonderful. Shopping and attractions are within walking distance. The location of the pool and fitness room were easily accessible and top notch. The overall charm and history of this hotel cannot be understated.”

• The staff and aesthetics of the hotel - great location - beautiful hotel.
• Rooms need to be updated - our room had stained sheets and towels.

“They also gave us club access and late checkout to compensate for our trouble. Hotel was great - could have been a little nicer in the rooms - very musty and we had stained sheets and towels - AC was very hard to use - either ice cold or muggy - paying more for the historic at this hotel - great location - lots of bars/restaurants in walking distance.”

“My husband and I stayed at the Renaissance Cleveland during a weekend stay and for the most part we really loved the hotel. The location was wonderful and the building itself is absolutely gorgeous. The lobby is like something out of a movie. Our room was beautiful - seemed small at first until we noticed a small door and realized it led to a really nice patio with comfy furniture adjacent to the hotel's atrium. However, the location on the atrium proved to be somewhat of a nightmare. There was a large, boisterous wedding party in rooms near ours and they partied all night, part of the time in the atrium itself which is supposed to be closed at night. We complained to the front desk and the noise stopped for about a half an hour and then started up again. We didn't expect the hotel to be responsible for individuals behavior, but would have expected better security to keep them from ruining other guests stays. My advice is to stay away from atrium rooms - if anyone is screwing around in the atrium you will hear every word!”

• HVAC system very noisy; shower water pressure was lacking. Expensive parking.

“Grande Dame hotel property at the city center; high-style luxurious lobby exudes old world money. Staff is genuinely caring; lounge and onsite restaurant are exceptional. Unfortunately the rooms are cursed with antiquated & noisy HVAC and plumbing; rehab of bathrooms poorly executed (tub inserts overplayed in legacy bathtub); very poor ventilation in rooms as air does not circulate to the outside.”

• The staff was very responsive.
• My room had a cup of coffee and one of the glasses opened, as if someone checked in and then was moved or left. It was unnerving.

“It is a very elegant hotel and with a very responsive staff. Getting baggage from parking area is a bit of a hassle if you do it yourself.”

“This is a very nice hotel. Perfect location for Rock Hall of Fame, restaurants and bars of the Warehouse District, etc. Connected to Tower Mall. Night shift valet is extremely nice and helpful. Housekeeping staff is very friendly and does and excellent job. The pool isn't open very late and isn't very kid friendly. Could be more places to sit in the room besides just the bed. Overall, very nice.”

• Parking rate is $25, a fairly steep rate and not really optional.

• The room was perfect and everyone there was really friendly.
• The food was terrible! Room service is not worth it. I hope the restaurant is better.

• The people who worked there were very friendly and helpful.
• Wallpaper peeling, no refrigerator in the room, only one chair in room with 2 queen beds but had plenty of room for more.

“I would recommend it due to the friendliness of the workers but it wasn't a 4 star, due to decor, lack of seating in rooms, lack of refrigerator/bar, pool was cool, but that area is missing out on what it could be.”
