• The aquarium in the entry area was awesome & the room was well furnished.
• The balcony was very small and it it was noisy.

• The proximity to the beach.
• To far from Duval but they did have a shuttle.

“Overall, it was a nice hotel, all Doubletrees are. If you are only interested in the beach, its in a great location but way to far from Duval however, they do have a shuttle that will take you there. The bar is amazing and the pool is clean and family friendly. We were there with our 3 month old daughter and the staff had a great time playing with her and they couldn't do enough to ensure she was comfortable.”

• Poor service and food (breakfast).

“Typical chain hotel-clean, comfortable and bland. Room was not made up until we asked at 5:00 PM. Very poor buffet breakfast. The pastry was stale and inedible. All in all, not worth the money.”

• The pool and pool area was fantastic. The view from our room was good, and we appreciated that they had laundry facilities.
• The tub was disgusting, the TV stand was broken, and pool music began at 9 a.m. and was very loud and disruptive.

“Beautiful pool area, decent rooms, disgusting bathtub. Location is good in Key West. A bit of a shock at 9 a.m. when they cranked the Caribbean Music in the pool area. No sleeping in! The balcony over the pool was lovely, only 1 of two elevators worked for the three days. Kind of towers feel with a nice pool and lobby. The price seemed, but Key West is an exp place.”

• I liked the free shuttle service, this was a great plus when staying in key west. The grounds & pool area were beautiful. Neat & clean. Great staff.
• Service in the restaurant was below par. Wait staff were slow. Problem with getting a correct bill each meal. Wait staff not American?

“Other than the sub par service at the restaurant this hotel was great. Great room, great grounds, great front desk & housekeeping, great concierge! Loved it, but better off traveling to town for wonderful food & better service!”

• Closed due to death of quest prior week from co poisoning.
• Closed by fire marshal.

“Scary! Imagine having been there the week before and be dead (1) from carbon monoxide poisoning or in the hospital (6) from carbon monoxide poisoning. This is a maintenance error that is unacceptable!”

• Rooms were clean no moldy smell as is common in beach hotels.
• Iron didn't work. Restaurant food was only ok.

“Hotel is better than average. Key west is crammed with hotels, bars, and restaurants; this was quiet. If you want to be in the middle of everything- you need to take a shuttle. We had a car and drove downtown. Hard to find parking. Very friendly, let us check in early and gave us warm cookies. No beachy smell-very clean.”

“This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel and again we were not disappointed. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The shuttle service to the beach and downtown is awesome. The pool area is very nice. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed having free internet. Overall a great experience and I would recommend this hotel to anyone that asks.”

• Shuttle service to town beach and airport is great!
• Distance from old town key west and beach.

“The hotel was clean, staff friendly and helpful, the pool area was great and I loved the shuttle service , this is the first time I have been to key west and not rented a car, the shuttle service was very convenient and there was no worries about finding parking, getting tickets, etc.”

• The ten dollar parking fee was very upsetting It all most wrecked the whole stay.

• We were put into a terrible room, but I complained and got a much better one.

“The hotel is about a mile from the airport so planes are frequently going in and out directly above. I didn't mind but someone might. Our room was very nice, however, as I previously stated, initially we were put into a terrible room as far away from a good view as possible and very dark. I complained and got a better room. The pool is nice, but some maintenance should be done. Food was good and prices were reasonable. Staff was very friendly and helpful.”

• Charge 10$ a day for parking.

“Great Pool and Spa area, Bar at Pool very good. Restaurant at Hotel very expensive, better get shuttle to downtown where there are tons of places to eat and drink.”

• All services, hotel, transportation all wonderful.
• Maid woke us at 9 to find out when we were leaving.

“The hotel was wonderful. It was an attractive environment with wonderful atmosphere. the pool was delightful. The restaurants were great. Only disappointment was the beach area with a total of seven umbrellas for all guests. The beach was not clean or attractive. It would be better not to use this beach since it was not up to the quality of the rest of the hotel. Many people came and left upset since they had to travel two miles to find it out and then wait for a bus back. If there was no beach the hotel would have been perfect.”

• The room would not get cool enough even though we kept the thermostat setting as low as possible.

“This hotel upheld the Doubletree standards and we were very pleased. Upon arrival, I requested a non-smoking room with 2 Queen beds and they were able to provide that. Received the famous and delicious warm cookies upon check in This hotel is not in the convenient downtown area allowing you to walk to Duvall Street. But they do provide a complimentary shuttle bus that runs every hour and that was really nice. Once we arrived, we parked our car and did not move it until we checked out 5 days later. They had posted that parking was $10.00 a day, but we were never charged that. It was nice to ride the shuttle downtown and not have to worry about parking. The Fitness Center did not have much equipment and the treadmill was out of order so we didn't use the room much. Our room seemed to have a problem with the air conditioning. It worked, but just wouldn't get cool enough. It was comfortable, but not cool enough to sleep so we had to run the ceiling fan at night. We did have a problem with our toilet leaking at the valve and we reported it. Housekeeping did come and check it out but never fixed it. We had to stuff towels in the back to keep the water from flowing on to the floor. It had a slow leak every time it was flushed. The pool area was very nice but we never used it. We mostly spent our time downtown, snorkeling, sightseeing or at the beach. For those unfamiliar with Key West, there really is no beach. There is a small man-made area and the hotel provides chairs and umbrellas for its guests. The shuttle bus also runs to the beach. The concierge was very helpful with booking our snorkeling excursion. The toilet and the air conditioning problem was really the only negative and we would gladly stay at this hotel again. It was clean, quiet, friendly and very relaxing.”

“Very nice place but a little pricey. Concierge sold us on "all for one" entertainment package (Para sailing, jet ski, snorkeling, etc.) At first it looked like too many people, not enough toys, but ended up being great. Bring your sun block! Hotel was clean, nice pool, decent food.”

• I liked the warm cookies upon checking in!
• The wait staff seemed lazy and uninterested in being there.

“The hotel does not have an ocean view, but has a great running path right across the street. The nearest beach is only 2 miles away, and they have a free shuttle that brings you to numerous locations. The pool is nice! The staff at the front counter is really nice. I only had breakfast at the restaurant, but the service was below average. The staff seemed to be bothered by me asking for more coffee. Nice clean rooms and free Internet.”

• Not on the beach, noisy airport nearby, not near the sights.

“A great family hotel. Shuttles to everywhere but we would have preferred to be able to just walk out to the beach or to the main shopping/dining areas. Great pool and bar and an excellent breakfast. Overall a very nice place, very clean and friendly staff.”

• Nice lobby and pool area.
• Room was not very clean. Private beach was tiny.

“Hotel room was not very clean. The refrigerator obviously had been leaking for a good while. There was water on the floor and wet sludge between fridge and wall. The walls were all smudged with dirt, either needing repainting or a good scrubbing. There was a quarter sized wad of hair hanging from one of the hand towels near the sink, which was very unappealing. Too much furniture in the regular rooms, making it difficult to walk without stubbing a foot. Television reception was poor, but maybe that's an island thing. The only ice machine on the 1st floor was on a completely different wing of the hotel, requiring long walk for ice. And the private beach was miniscule. All of the patrons in uncomfortable wooden chairs that would not recline and all settled within 3 feet of another. It's unlikely that I would choose to stay there again.”

“This was a nice hotel for the price. The staff was friendly and helpful. The shuttle was awesome - dropped us off and picked us up at the beach and Duval Street so we didn't have to search for parking. Nice beach with free access to chairs, towels and umbrellas. Room was a little small but was clean and comfortable. They have recently put up condos around the hotel so there is no longer a nice view.”
