• Nothing.
• Everything.

“Construction everywhere, constant banging. Couldn't get Internet in the room. Hotel staff said I should call their technicians. Three hours later on 2 different days still didn't have access to Internet. I then took my computer to the restaurant area which was basically outside in the heat and my computer finally worked. I found out from the bartender that almost the entire hotel had problems with accessing the Internet the week prior to our visit. The office never admitted that it was a problem. When the office connected me to the technicians for the website, the person couldn't speak English. It was the worst 3 days ever. Even the shuttle driver was rude. The room also had fleas. I had bites all over my feet.”

• Away from the hustle & bustle.
• Smell of the elevators & hallways.

“The hotel was pretty good. This was my first time in the Keys and I think I made the right choice. It was right across the street from the beautiful Smathers Beach & away from the congestion of Duval. Easy access to downtown as they had a shuttle. Great pool with waterfall and the rooms were huge. Granite counter tops, microwave & fridge - plasma TV in room - felt like home.”

• Free shuttle to downtown Key West.
• Internet connection was extremely weak in the room near corner of hotel.

“Nice hotel located right across from Smathers Beach. Room was very clean with updated decor/furnishings. Terrace and swimming pool were located within the outer walls of hotel, giving them private feel. Hotel provides free shuttle to/from downtown Key West. Parking was available due to security only allowing authorized vehicles in parking lot.”

• The shuttle service to downtown was great.
• Loud construction at the pool at mid-day. Staff didn't help.

“Overall the hotel was very nice but we had a bad experience. At noon on one of the two days we had to enjoy the pool there were very rude, loud construction workers were doing routine sanding/maintenance at the pool for 2 hours. They closed to pool from noon to 2 PM (best part of the day). The staff did nothing for us but I later heard they camped breakfast and drinks for the other guy that complained. (I notified them first!). Also, very bad water temp. No hot shower. Barely Luke warm.”

• The hotel staff were excellent, the location was scenic and surprisingly quiet, the room was spacious. The lime water in the lobby delicious.
• Not close to Du val Street.

“Situated across the street for romantic walks on a lovely soft sand beach. The grounds and gardens are pretty, quiet and restful. Airplane noise from the airport was surprisingly minimal and not an issue after dark. Hotel staff provided excellent dining and sightseeing tips and go out of their way to make you feel at home. Free shuttle to within easy walking distance to Mallory Square.”

• Close to beach, awesome landscaping.
• Distance to Downtown Key West.

“This was a fairly large hotel with a great beach location. Parking was free and they offered a free shuttle into town. Nicely landscaped grounds and a large pool area. Large rooms with a nice view.”

• Cleanliness of room.

“Dirty stained carpet. Ran out of toilet paper 3 times. Blinds broken. No bath tub, just a shower. Sofa old and in need of replacement. it rolls out into a bed and very uncomfortable. Over priced breakfast buffet that was only fair. A very disappointing experience.”

• The best thing about this hotel was the friendly staff.
• I wish the shuttle ran a little later.

• Proximity to restaurants and shopping.

“This is a great place to stay if you just want to lay down on a beach or by a pool for a few days. The room was big and clean. The bathroom was really impressive--perfect for a longer stay with lots of storage space. The pool looked beautiful at night, lit up and right by the bar. I imagine that during the regular vacation season it is packed. The hotel staff were generally helpful, but they didn't seem particularly interested or friendly. We considered staying an extra night because we had fallen in love with Key West, but decided to try another hotel. We stayed at the Ocean Key Resort and loved it. The hotel is beside a Salt Lake--the smell was sulphur. So if you don't plan on planting yourself on a beach and want to be closer to the action, try the other side of the island.”

• The furniture in the room looked warn and they charge for all phone calls.

“Everyone was very helpful and interested in making your stay enjoyable. The pool side service was great. The Spa girls made rounds by the pool and offered specials for services.”

• I like the location and the fact that the rooms were suites with a separate living room.
• The fridge was not working when we arrived.

“I was traveling with my mother and mother-in-law and we only stayed one day/night. The room was great accept for that the fridge was not working and telephone in the bedroom was not working. We were given limited supply of sugar and creamer for our coffee & tea. Also the only roll of toilet paper was just enough for the night, could not locate another roll. I will say that maintenance arrived shortly after we called and fixed the fridge but he was not able to fix the phone, said it needed replacing.”

• The room was spacious, bed very comfortable, the shower was huge!
• The first shuttle was at 9:30am, I needed one earlier.

“It was clean and spacious, the bed very comfy. It had no bathtub, but the shower was very big. This hotel is across the island from the main tourist section of key west. This was perfect for us. They did have a shuttle that ran all day.”

• I like the decor of the actual room.
• I didn't like the fact that the room was so expensive for nothing.

“I would have expected more for such an expensive hotel. I was very drawn aback from, the room was spacious but when I asked about the size of the sofa bed I was told a queen when in fact it was a full.”

• The hotel is far away from the main key west activities. However, it is close to the beach.

• The room was wonderful.
• The rest of the hotel was not what I would consider a 3 star hotel.

“I could have lived in that room for a month. The pool area was different than expected and the hotel is across from a beach not on the beach. They have an excellent shuttle service. The wake up service needs some work but there is an alarm clock in the room. I also thought there would be a continental breakfast included in the price but there wasn't.”

“The hotel was beautiful; the grounds are spacious and well kept, full of tropical plants. There is too much noise from the external walkway in front of the doors. It is a wooden decking, and every footstep is heard, as well as the rolling carts from housekeeping very early in the morning. Pool was lovely. Restaurant food excellent and reasonably priced. Towels were scratchy--fabric softener would be a great addition!”

• The concierge kept pushing an ocean travel excursion despite bad weather and cancellations of the service.

“Very attractive hotel with clean rooms well equipped with a safe, refrigerator, one flat panel TV, one regular TV, two beds with soft mattresses, one sleeper sofa, and other amenities. Very comfortable for a family of 4. The location is directly across from a public beach and the shuttle service to the downtown district was good (will be excellent when they get the planned bus). The front desk and shuttle service personnel were very friendly and quick to respond. The concierge booked us on a dry Tortugas trip that was obviously not going to take place due to high winds. I wish that she would have at least warned us.”

• It's excellent. I and my family had a very good time here together.
• There was only wireless internet in the room. I suggest to provide wire for guests who do not have wireless connection in their computers.

• The distance to dual street was only reachable by car or taxi.

• Beautifully appointed rooms close to the beach with shuttle service to downtown.
• Our room was located next to the air conditioning units which blocked any view of outside.

• Location was great and there was a free shuttle bus to downtown.
• A little noisy due to construction to repair hurricane damage.

“It was a lovely room and very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and the staff was all very nice. The concierge was very helpful and I liked the free shuttle downtown so we didn't have to drive and park the car. There is not much parking in key west, so that was a real plus.”

• Huge bathroom, marble floors/shower.
• Continuous odor in the hallway.

“The room/suite was quite large with 2 televisions, beautiful couch, and all of the amenities one would need or expect. The bathroom was enormous and the appointments in the room were classy. The room was much nicer than I expected for a 3 star hotel. While the room was wonderful, the rest of the hotel could use the renovations, which appear to be currently in progress.”

“Very spacious, newly remodeled room with marble floors, granite countertops, 2 flat screen TVs, sofa, mini fridge, very comfortable bed, and nice ocean view. The staff was exceptionally helpful. Shuttle to dual street runs every hour until 10pm. We did not dine at the hotel so I can't comment on the food or service, but we were delighted with our stay.”

• Fantastic staff from housekeeping, front desk, to management.
• Minor renovations caused some limited parking.

“This hotel probably had the most cooperative and helpful staff that I have encountered in many years. They were organized, friendly, and able to assist with any needs the guest had. They went out of their way to make sure that their guest was happy and had a pleasant stay.”

• Location ocean front but 2 miles from Duval street.

“Tastefully remodeled, flat screen TV and very nice bed. The hotel is in the process of being remodeled, so I'm not sure there is some risk of getting old style room, (but new room is very upscale).”

• The suites are spacious and beautiful.
• When coming across a problem with our reservation, customer service was not that pleasant.

“When we got to the hotel, our request for non-smoking was not met. We requested a room change. This was a very disturbing experience to come to after traveling over 3 hours to get there. We were switched to 3 different rooms and customer service was not that pleasant anymore. ”
