“Hotel 's furniture was broken, room door was sagging and difficult to shut, traffic noise too loud in the room, A/C was noisy, no feather pillows available, housekeeping staff was noisy and carried on outside of room, free coffee in the loby was regular only (no decaf), making a left turn out of the parking lot was hazardous because it was on a bend.”

• The restaurant staff & concierge were very friendly.
• The hotel is on a busy main street so is noisy.

“This is an old hotel without charm. According to residents, they have been talking about tearing it down for a few years. It is not close enough in to get the feel of Key West town, but not far enough out to get the island feel. It is adequate to sleep in after seeing the sights, if you have ear plugs. Our room was located above the busy street, perhaps other rooms farther back in the complex were quieter.”

• Location, price, and convenience in and out of city.
• Even t hough I asked several staff, including front desk, could not get pool towels or towels to room promptly.

“Nice, would stay there again if in area, but wait staff in restaurant, need to pay attention to details. Hotel staff should follow through on requests.”

• Pool and spa facilities.
• Rooms.

“Info on hotel states all room pool view and this is not the case. Hotel has a tower and the rooms in this facility are quite old and deteriorated. Info also states all rooms have fridge and microwave, not so. Staff brought in and old rust dirty fridge and an old microwave. Next day moved to an upgrade room which did have adequate fridge and microwave in the pool level of the main hotel building.”

• The pool was not as bad.
• Traffic noise, walls are not very well insulated to provide privacy from outside chatter.

“BUGS! There were bugs creeping out of everywhere - gnats, baby cockroaches, etc., were everywhere. The door isn't well done as there was a gap underneath which showed shadows outside if someone were standing, free access for bugs to come in, etc.”

• The girl working the front desk was very polite and helpful when we arrived.

“This hotel is an excellent value considering the average cost of a room in Key West. It was clean, spacious and the staff was very helpful. I will stay at this facility when I return to Key West.”

• I have absolutely nothing good to say.
• Not what I expected for the money in there off season, my wife did not feel safe.

“I had a luxury hotel for only a few dollars more for our last night on the Island. I am not happy with this hotel nor am I happy with the price. They put us high and as far away from the elevator as they could.”

• Nice pool. Cooked good chicken sandwiches out by pool on weekend; good price for Key West.
• Worn carpeting near bath. Saw a roach one night. Way too far from main area of Key West.

“Good price for Key West. Too far to walk to downtown, parking in Key West is outlandish. Would have been nice if hotel had a joint shuttle service with other nearby hotels to downtown areas, say at least twice a day. I believe one of the hotel maids stole some medication out of my overnight kit bag. Nothing too major. Overall, decent price, ok hotel. Not sure if hotel deserves two and a half stars.”

“Could have spent more on a 4 star rated hotel & enjoyed it much more, on a hot summer night would you not like to take a 10:00 pm swim. The pool was closed & guard was rude. Please I'm 56 year old not a kid looking for trouble. The staff in the restaurant was rude also.”

• Had problems with key card and did not like staff response.

“For the price, the room was adequate. Enjoyed the pool area. Had problems with key card each day. Did not receive a wake up call for a planned day trip and almost missed the boat. Expected some perk as an offer of apology for inconveniences. However, received nothing and the general manager did not seem too concerned.”

• Easy to find, right at the entrance to Key West, good value.
• $16 cab ride from Mallory Square & Downtown.

“Room was clean and well-appointed. It is a motel-style building, with rooms opening directly to the outside. For Key West, I got a good value. With tip, the round-trip cab ride was $40--quite a bit for one person. Next time I visit Key West, I will spend the extra money to stay downtown, so I can walk everywhere.”

• Maid service came very late in the day and often had to wait for towels.

“Kids and I loved the pool area. Hated the elevator. Loved the room. Wished there were fridge in the rooms. Had to go down 3 floors to a drink machine. But for a short trip this was a great place to stay. Bring a cooler. Internet went down. Never did fix it or tell us why or when it would be fixed.”

• I had a lovely view of the water from my room.
• It is an older hotel & shows signs of wear. It's ready for a makeover.

“Lovely water views available from the tower rooms, friendly staff and all the amenities you would expect in a moderately priced hotel. The pool area was very nice. I would definitely stay here again when I travel for business or if I was a budget-conscious vacationer.”

• First hotel on the key. Clean, nice staff, nice pool area.
• Far from the action. About a 15-20 dollar cab ride to Duval.

“Hotel was nice and staff was friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. Beds were nice and the bathroom was a hotel bathroom. The hotel has a nice pool area with a tike bar and the pool has allot of shaded areas which is nice because key west is freaking hot!”

• Excellent pool, decent. Rooms and price.
• Not the best location. 2.5 miles to beach, $15 cab downtown.

“I would recommend, however a few things to note. It is not located in any party or vacation Mecca. It is 2.5 miles to the beach (contrary to the about a mile that they tell you at the front desk; we trip metered it), and a $15 cab ride to downtown Duval St. (which is nothing when you look at the savings). It was pretty clean, and the pool is amazing, with a bar and all. We only had to kill one cockroach, but it was fun.”

“The holiday in Key Wester was at the northern most point of Key West. So not convenient to Duval Street. The room was located across from the elevator. Noisy, in the room the walls were cement and cracked the pipes rattled when someone used them above us very annoying.”

• Did not have a shower to take a bath, the TV set was not working in one room.

“The hotel is a disaster! We checked in by 12:00 midnight and by 9:00 am tried to get a shower and two out of the three rooms did not have a shower in good conditions. They repaired one and asked us to wait until the paint goit dry to use the shower. I think that the quality and the cleanliness of the rooms are not acceptable. I tried to talk to the supervisor was more rude than the FO person. The manager did not make her self available to talk to us. I sent you an e mail yesterday about this situation. I'm awaiting a reply from you.”

“Conveniently located just off the main road into Key West but at the opposite end of the island to Duval Street and the downtown area. Parking was difficult to find there and very expensive. The hotel staff were very helpful and the lobby area was nicely decorated. The bedrooms had been given a coat of paint and some new bedspreads and curtains but were pretty depressing apart from that. I had been under the impression that the hotel had undergone a complete refurbishment which was not the case. The pool area was nice.”

“Lost elect 3 hours no emergency lights in room. the rug was so dirty you had to wear shoes all the time. no breakfast for your money. listened to college boys next door sick all night. You had to take your car to Deval St, no bus or van to drop you off. for what it cost you got very little in return.”

• Room smelled musty, but it is very humid in Key West.

“Overall, the value is good. There is no bad location in Key West, it is a small island. There is a trolley pickup and visitor information booth right beside the hotel so you don't have to take your car anywhere as parking can be very hard to find and expensive in the tiny Mallory Square area. However, if you go for the day and get there early you can get an all day parking spot for $20. Also, you can rent scooters, bikes and electric cars everywhere. The room was comfortable, the beds were very comfortable and there were many choices of pillow types. There was a slight musty smell, however it is humid in Key West, so I don't think that could be avoided. My 12 year old stayed free and there was no charge for her cot. Also free high speed is a great perk too. I would chose this hotel again.”

• Carpet was stained & appeared dirty.

“The hotel staff was very pleasant & accommodating. The few problems with the room was quickly fixed & resolved by maintenance. A little distance from town. Not walk able. Suggest parking in town. Speak with the concierge. Very easy and much cheaper then a taxi. No shuttles available unless you want to pay $27.00 for a day tour. The hotel restaurant had only 5 choices for supper. I ended up having an "All American Hot Dog with fries" for $8.95 We were a group of 5, and the only ones there.”
