• This hotel was first class and we would certainly love to only stay in hotels as fabulous as this!
• I'm sorry but there is nothing I could tell you that we didn't like about this hotel.

“As stated above this was a first class hotel. It had every amenity one could imagine. The lobby entrance was grand with its marble staircase, the hotel room was beautifully furnished, and the workout room was wonderful as was the pool. Excellent accommodations!”

• The esthetics' - very beautifully furnished.
• No smoking in the bar, pool closed all of first day.

“The hotel is right down town so the location is perfect. It is very beautifully furnished. However, I was very disappointed that the hotel closed the pool if it is sprinkling, if it is not warm enough for swimming in the opinion of the pool engineer. I would not recommend this hotel to a smoker. You can not even smoke in the bar. Also, if you are traveling with friends (like on a weekend getaway. Do not stay here! Walls are paper thin and you will get noise complaints even if you are speaking quietly and it is only 10PM. Definitely do not stay here if you are looking forward to swimming or relaxing in the hot tub. I will not stay here again.”

• The room service food was awesome!
• The beds were really uncomfortable.

“All in all this was a great hotel. The restaurant was great; they gave me a free dessert delivered via room service because it was my birthday, so that was pretty nice of them. There was an event going on so there wasn't any parking, but they valet parked the car free of charge. This was a nice vacation away from home, we are from the Spartanburg area, but it was nice to stay in the hotel.”

• They were well organized even with several events going on.
• The bed linens were cheap, thin and scratchy.

“The hotel was very nice for business, but no amenities for family. Internet access was additional charge per day. The parking elevator was not close to the regular elevator, so you had to carry your luggage through the lobby. The breakfast buffet was very nice.”

• It was close to lots of shopping, restaurants, etc.
• No waffle house nearby!

“This hotel was very nice, and I would recommend it to anyone. The bed was comfortable, and the bathrooms were nice and big. Parking was free, and there are also restaurants inside the hotel for very close dining. There is also a star bucks in the hotel!”

• What a beautiful room!
• I wasn't thrilled with having to pay for the internet; it is tacky for Marriott to do this.

“The Marriott Spartanburg is probably the classiest hotel in the city. The rooms are of high quality and the lobby is immaculate. Parking is free, covered, and secure, and you get a dash of Southern hospitality with free lemonade in the lobby. I couldn't ask for more.”

• The beds were terrible and the coffee shop was closed at 9:00a.m.

• First, the hotel was conveniently located. I attended a football game, which was played in a stadium less than 2 miles away. The hotel staff persons.
• Not located close to the business area, shopping, etc.

“The hotel presented a wonderful view of a portion of the city. It is a beautiful hotel, spacious rooms, great fitness center, large swimming pool, interesting entertainment on Saturday evenings. A very professional and friendly staff.”

• The quality of furnishings is superb.
• The ability of the desk personnel to handle noise complaints was poor.

“Around 1:30 am, we were awakened by loud parties yelling and running up and down the hallway. 10 minutes later 3-4 youths were put in a room next to us. They were yelling and whooping and bouncing off the walls for two hours. It took three calls to the front desk to get them to quiet.”

• It was very roomy.
• Things in the room were broken.

“I love the hotel it self. But because of the deal we got I feel we were put in a room that was not up to their standards. The exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work, the air conditioning did not work very well. The sheets were stained, And the coffee and refrigerator were broken. I have stayed here many times and that was never the case. I did not complain because I simply did not have the time. My Husband sat on the floor out side our room on Saturday morning with the door crack. He was fully dressed, reading a book. He did this because he wanted to let me get some sleep and not wake me up with the light. The reason I mention this is it was great concern to the security people. Twice they came by and asked him what he was doing. He finally went down to the lobby because he did not want to explain this again.”

• New hotel with many Amenities. Large exercise facility and outdoor pool.
• Needed more security for intoxicated wedding guests.

“This hotel is a very new, with many amenities. There is a large exercise facility with a dry and steam sauna. Very nice large outdoor pool. The restaurant is overpriced but the food in the lounge is moderately priced and very good. The hotel offers several banquet rooms varying in size and price. Arriving on Sat. please note there may be weddings. Parking is free and Internet service is offered via data port at $9.95+tax per 24-hour period. Overall 4.0 on 5.0 scale.”

• Very friendly front desk staff. She went out of her way to help me find a restaurant open Sunday evening and even made phone calls.
• There was no sign to enter parking garage from side street.

“This hotel was far superior than I had anticipated. The staff was excellent, check-in was a breeze, and the room service was excellent. We ordered room service for dinner as well as for breakfast and I cannot complain at all about the service, the food, or the amount of time it took. Wonderful hotel, very conveniently located, very clean, rooms were nice, and the beds were fantastic. I could have slept all day!”

• Hotel room was nice and clean.
• Front desk clerk was unfriendly. Rooms were not insulated well. Could hear noise from hall and outside.

“There were a few things they need to work on. I would have expected the front desk staff to be nicer. They were not friendly. We were also kept awake by noise in the hall at 4:00 AM. There was also much noise from outside. I would have thought the walls, windows and doors would have been more insulated. I would stay there again but hopefully I would have a better experience. Every business has a bad day. I am willing to give it a try again. I have also stayed at the Radisson in Spartanburg. Our experience was better there.”

“It was miserable, the staff and front desk first night did not help, I end up driving 10 miles 230 A.M. to find place to get change and with no direction with no cloth on since I put them in the washing machine but had no change for the dryer. Every night there is loud noise, party next room, phones do no work, late for appt cos the wake up call did not work, the internet was miserable. I really wish I did not stay there it was a waste of money.”

• Fabulous. Gorgeous decor with marble floors. Very comfortable beds. Nice extras to make the stay enjoyable.
• I was put in a smoking room. The odor was bad.

“The large open lobby immediately impresses you with beautiful marble floors and beautiful decor. The rooms were extremely comfortable with excellent mattresses and pillows to help you sleep well. The fitness room is well-equiped with all the necessary exercise machines. Overall the hotel was classy and very impressive.”

• Marriott Spartanburg was extremely clean, comfortable, and classy, with top of the line facilities.
• The restaurant staff was not very alert and accomodating. I sat for 10 minutes and never got noticed...finally walked out...no one apologized.

“The Marriott Spartanburg provides first class accomodations in a central location. The rooms are clean and spacious. The beds are extremely comfortable. The fitness center and other amenities are also top of the line. It's a great place for either business or personal travelers.”

“This hotel stay was remarkable for the price that I paid for a new hotel establishment. The people were friendly. I liked the underground parking that was provided. I also found it interesting that you had to use your room key to access usage of the elevator which improves hotel safety.”
