“This hotel while convenient to my destination was essentially dirty. It was an old building that showed it's age. There was an addition that required 2 separate elevators to reach the second floor if you used a cart to move your bags to the room. The desk clerk when I checked in refused to provide me with a zero balance receipt when requested despite the fact that they still kept my credit card info on file. She was particularly rude and apathetic while she popped her gum during our conversation. I won't be back here again!” Jul 23, 2008 by
Tracy from Cape Coral, FL
“There are other hotels in the Lakeland area that seem a bit better for families.” Jul 14, 2008 by
Mindi from Jacksonville Beach, FL
“This hotel group (SouthBeachGroup) is the worst hotel and should not even have a star rating. They do offer a spa, restaurant and bar, but all the extras are horrible! You must have someone stay the full night because it is at night that the demons come out! We did not get a wink of sleep because the lobby was a full bar. When all of the other bars closed for the evening, all of the people knew to go to the Chesterfield. The staff encourages this, so we were stuck with the noise and the smoke drifting into our room. Finally at 4:00 AM, we were able to get a few hours of sleep. The next morning, I had said something to the front desk, they said, that is what the hotel is known for.” Jul 7, 2008 by
Adam from Pace, FL
“Needs renovation.” Jun 3, 2008 by
Terri from Sebastian, FL
“The rooms and decor are in line with two star standards, but it is impossible to get away from strong cigarette odors. The beds are not as comfortable as other Holiday Inns Amenities like refrigerators or microwaves are located in random room and staff unable/unwilling to assign rooms to accommodate these even if asked ahead of time.” May 28, 2008 by
Mary from Wahoo, NE
“The entrance to this hotel experience needs work. It is not well defined. It is very narrow. The drive needs repair. A poor first impression can set up everything in a bad light. It is excellent.” May 22, 2008 by
Renee from Centerville, WA
“If you are traveling on business and need just a place to rest and relax this is a good hotel. If you're wanting to have all the extras like good food, nice clean inviting restaurants, pool, exercise area then I wouldn't recommend. The staff was friendly enough but not really outgoing to make sure you were happy. Even though the restaurant "Dugout" was unkept, the staff was awesome and really friendly and outgoing, maybe they should have the front desk personnel take lessons from the two ladies we had contact with in the restaurant.” May 1, 2008 by
Randy from Gainesville, FL
“This hotel is inconveniently located on a divided highway so that multiple U-turns are necessary when arriving or leaving. The entire facility reeks of cigarette smoke, there are no fridges or microwaves in the rooms, and only one single-cup coffee package. There was hair in the bathroom sink and mold in the shower. The worst Holiday Inn I have ever seen! I would never, under any circumstances, stay at this hotel again!” Apr 28, 2008 by
Joseph from Ocala, FL
“I asked for non-smoking and was put into smoking. I asked to change rooms and got one that had cockroaches in it. Most of the lamps did not work. Not "business traveler" friendly at all. When I checked out the manager passed me in the hall and asked if the loud fan in the hallway was bothering me. I said I was leaving. He didn't bother to follow up and seemed rather indifferent. The desk clerk also seemed indifferent and apathetic.” Apr 25, 2008 by
Elliot from Redondo Beach, CA
“I would never again stay at a Holiday Inn.” Mar 31, 2008 by
Arthur from Columbus, GA
“There was no way to turn into the hotel when I came home at night because of an island in the middle of 98N. It did not have a complimentary breakfast, but offered an expensive room service breakfast that I did not participate in. I did not get a newspaper at my door each morning as did most of the other patrons. I did not add any other expenses to my bill because of being ignored. I probably would have frequented the bar and restaurant if I had been more welcomed.” Mar 27, 2008 by
Shane from West Bloomfield, MI
“Convenient hotel for Detroit Tigers fans. Not much to do in Lakeland, but convenient. The housekeeping really only made the beds which was annoying. Clean towels were brought to our room but thrown in the bathroom and not hung up. I am also convinced they stole a Starbucks gift card.” Mar 8, 2008 by
Robert from Newbury, MA
“The Lakeland Hyatt was impressive. The rooms were big and the decor was attractive and modern. The hotel lobby was just as nice. Nice amenities like Free continental breakfast with a nice variety. Free computer use and a staff with a "we are here to please" attitude. Rare these days. We will stay here again.” Feb 22, 2008 by
Robert from Sarnia, ON CA
“Nice facilities, but not as good as the hotels I usually stay at.” Feb 2, 2008 by
Gregory from Marietta, GA
“The hotel was very nice and the staff was friendly. I hate smoking rooms and could only get a smoking room.” Aug 2, 2007 by
Bryan from St. Petersburg, FL
“It was better than I expected.” Jun 6, 2007 by
Eileen from Jacksonville, FL
“There was a middle school baseball tournament in town and the hotel put my room on the same floor and the children and it was very noisy. They should have placed other guests on different floors.” May 31, 2007 by
Josh from Miami Lakes, FL
“For a holiday inn, I was surprised to see how poorly maintained the place is. I felt like I was at a super 8 or an economy lodge.” May 16, 2007 by
William B. from Gainesville, FL
“They failed to clean our room and the staff was unresponsive. This place needs a make over . I will never stay at this hotel again. I will tell friends to avoid this dump.” Apr 27, 2007 by
Joe from Charlotte, NC
“Other than the bed was nice, the room was pretty clean, and air was quiet. It was not that bad.” Apr 3, 2007 by
Susan from Paw Paw, MI
“Great experience, very clean and friendly service. We will stay there again next year.” Mar 26, 2007 by
Duane from Harrison Twp, MI
“It was suppose to be the winter home of the tigers. No way, they wouldn¿t stay there. It was kind of dumpy. And pricey. Paid a lot for nothing.” Mar 4, 2007 by
Dannie from Marion, IA
“Guest services manager knows how to solve problems.” Feb 14, 2007 by
Om from Manchester, CT
“Is situated along the interstate with several other hotels and not in downtown Lakeland as stated, way overpriced for the quality and service received and should not be more then a 1 star, the rooms were clean but service and quality of the breakfast buffet which was not included was almost non existent. A trip to McDonalds would have been better.” Feb 13, 2007 by
Larry from Venice, FL
“This was a perfect fit for us thank you.” Dec 29, 2006 by
Elizabeth from Troy, NY
“Staff helped to move us to another room. They first put us right smack in the middle of all the children on the floor with teens. They were running down hallways and loud in the rooms. They did move us to another floor which was quieter.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 24, 2006 by

“I found this to be a nice hotel. Friendly staff and clean facility. The room was more than reasonable.” Oct 18, 2006 by
Donna from Worth, IL
“Our family group consisted of 16 people aged 50+ down to 18 mos. We reserved 5 rooms for a 4 night stay to visit with family in Lakeland. We found the front desk staff to be extremely friendly and accommodating. A couple of our rooms were changed on arrival in order to keep us close together. We enjoyed the swimming pool every night and found it to be very clean and relaxing. There were plenty of chairs and lots of fresh towels available. The wait staff from the restaurant came out to us for food service which allowed us to unwind and really relax. Our rooms were very clean and well maintained. All the facilities were very well kept. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and I would be very comfortable recommending it to others.” Aug 30, 2006 by
Brenda from Jacksonville, FL
“Did not enjoy stay roaches was in room some one slamming door all night till 2:00 in morning our door opened in middle of night around 1:00 or so while we were sleeping found out it was security did not even knock maids did not clean very well lamp at desk did not work cable was bad overall it was not a good stay .” Aug 7, 2006 by

“For the money and location for business travel it is a good deal.” May 27, 2006 by

“Stayed at Holiday Inn Lake land Hotel & Conf. Ctr for Spring Training. The hotel itself is very clean. Rooms are large. The restaurant in the hotel is very convenient. The only thing that was negative was ALL the construction around the hotel. It was a pain getting around town and back to the hotel. Hopefully, the construction will be completed. THEN your stay here will be super!” Mar 26, 2006 by
Denise from Flint, MI
“Hotel was clean, food and drinks were good and overall very comfortable.”
