• Close to interstate.
• Poor bedding which sagged in middle. Hotel needed renovation badly. Average at best.

“Marriott Courtyard in Spartanburg was conveiently located off of Business 85 and close to Interstate 26 as well. Hotel was easy to find and access. The hotel also had a decent amount of fast food restaurants nearby and a grocery store within walking distance. The hotel greatly needs to be updated by Marriott. The beds were very old and uncomfortable by today's Courtyard standards. The mattress sagged towards the middle badly leading to a terrible nights sleep. The hotel has an outdoor poor with an indoor hot tub. I would not recommend staying at this hotel.”

• Clean, very nice room, well decorated, quiet, nice furnishings.
• Nothing.

• Good setup for business travelers.
• Some minor maintenance problems with this stay.

“This stay was probably the worst of my experiences there even though I actually extended my stay there. My first room had a water problem and the carpet was wet. The whirlpool near the swimming pool was not running properly either. Still a nice hotel but this experience may change my mind on trying to stay there in the future.”

• Older, quiet, comfy beds, peaceful sleep.
• Jacuzzi was just hot bath - jets do not work.

“Thoroughly rested in this room - was in the back, quiet and peaceful - bed was nice; location was perfect for our needs, though a little hard to get to - when you take the Roundabout you have to make a hard right turn into this hotel parking lot or you will be on an interstate ramp going somewhere else - I think this is more a Highway Department guffaw though - would recommend this hotel - love to stay there again.”

• Jets did not even work in Jacuzzi - just a hot bath.

“I really like this hotel even though it is not the most convenient hotel to my workplace when I am in the area. I actually like this better than the 3 star Radisson Hotel nearby.”

• Near the highway, this can be good or bad. Not an issue for me.

• The location was convenient for our trip, plus had local restaurants nearby.
• Cleanliness of the room was substandard. From trash left in the room, stains on furniture, smell of smoke, black grit on tub.

“This would be adequate if it were a super 8. It is a far cry from what I expect from Marriott.”

• On many occasions at this hotel, I have been approached by people for money (security issue).

• Hot tub is great; lobby is beautiful and rooms very nice.
• A little hard to get to with the circle but easy once you get the hang of best route to take in and out.

“This hotel is very nice to get away and relax at. It is quiet with no interstate noise. The rooms are nice and large with a couch. The beds are very comfortable. The hot tub and hot tub room is very nice, clean and well lit with a private feel. The lobby is very nice, clean and inviting. The continental breakfast that was served this weekend was a very substantial breakfast with cereals, assorted breads and pastries, fruit, juice, coffee, tea. The onsite mini store/pantry is very convenient. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It was nice to have a computer into the lobby for our use while staying. We always enjoy staying here and have 2 or 3 times.”

• The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have experienced. Window curtains did not let in the night lights.
• Hot tub was not running, maintenance staff said oh well it was time to close it anyway. Baseball players had splashed too much water out of hot tub.

“It was on frontage road and was easy enough to find due to the overhead signs. The most memorable thing was the bed, although it might be too soft for some, it was extremely comfortable.”

• The room was tastefully redecorated and the bed comfortable.
• The room was not clean. Hair in sink, on bathroom floor, tub was dirty. A/C controls outdated.

“While this hotel was consistent in decor for the Courtyard Chain, cleanliness of the room was poor. Wall mounted HVAC unit had old style controls. 4 buttons for high cool, low cool, high heat, low heat and dial for temp from red to blue made controlling temp in the room impossible given the warm afternoon and cool night in late fall. ”

“I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff was friendly and the facilities were well-maintained. No wireless internet access in-room, but available in the lobby. Wired connections in the rooms keep you tied to the desk. This is typical for all Marriott hotels. I would stay here again and again.”

• Location, security, decor and high speed internet were very important.
• Breakfast was not complimentary, one exit away was Cracker Barrel for the same price.

“Front desk staff arranged for the specific room we requested. We liked being located next to a drug and grocery store plus one exit away from Cracker Barrel. We did not participate in the breakfast. We liked the decor and access to the internet in the room.”
