• Room was very nice. Plenty of pillows. Entire hotel was non smoking.
• Extra charge for internet service. Very disappointed with this feature.

“Why would anyone need 10 pillows? Two double beds with 5 pillows each. Smallish rooms. Nothing is free/included. Would have liked to stay at the embassy suites.”

• It lived up to the Marriott name - nice facilities, cleanliness.
• The A/C in the room was not efficient - the room was warm.

“The hotel is in a great location, right off I-85 and close to numerous eateries. For children and adults (who like to exercise or swim), a beautiful outdoor pool, indoor pool, sauna, and whirlpool. Polite and efficient staff.”

• The amenities such as spa, fitness, lobby, and concierge areas are excellent.

• The room was nice and clean and the downstairs lobby had a very nice ambiance.
• I was dumbfounded to discover that if I wanted internet access, I would have to pay $10/day for it, even in the business center!

• Close to airport. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice and clean.
• I came home with a rash all over my body. Not sure if it was from the soap, lotion, detergent in sheets?

• Fire alarm went off @ 2:am.

“They had a fire alarm problem @2:am & we had to evacuate. Stayed outside in the cold for about 30 min.'s. The baby got scared & wouldn't get back to sleep. They only offered us their apologies the next morning - a partial refund or credit would have been appropriate. ”

• The rooms were beautiful.
• The carpet need to be cleaned or replaced. This is my only complaint.

“This is a very versatile hotel. It is beautiful and conveniently located. The carpet need to be looked at very seriously. I would attempt to stay here again if I knew the carpet situation was resolved.”

• Not enough parking in front of hotel. Leave back doors unlocked.

“Hotel has great rooms, great common areas, beautiful outdoor pool and great indoor pool. Everything you would want or need out of a hotel is here. Rooms, restaurants, lobby are all in great shape after renovations a couple of years ago. Great hotel.”

• Attention to detail, fresh apples in lobby, the shower, linens.
• A continental breakfast would have been nice.

“The staff is extremely professional, friendly, and helpful. There is an attention to detail that is refreshing. From the fresh apples in the lobby to the bottled waters in the refrigerator. The man who showed us to our room explained where everything was and how it worked, nothing was left for guesswork. We were given directions to local restaurants and the mall. The entire facility from the lobby to the pool area to the rooms was very clean and beautifully decorated. The shower had a large double head and the soap and shampoo were from bath and body works. The linens were exceptional. Often it is the little things that get me to return to a hotel. Two "little" things that will get me to return, half and half for my in-room coffee instead of powder, and the crib I requested was in my room upon arrival -rather than me having to ask and wait. Many places have comfortable beds and hot showers, but the Marriott stands out by going over the top.”

• Each room has a mini-fridge.
• There were loud girls in the next room, and despite a call to the front desk, they never quieted down.

“This hotel exceeded my expectations. It was fancy and clean. The spa and pool were fantastic. The rooms were large and well equipped. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only complaint is the price of room service was too high.”

• Hotel looks brand new on inside. Rooms are great.
• Location isn't fantastic.. But still not too bad.

“This hotel, while 20 years old, still looks brand new. A recent renovation has the Marriott looking brand new, modern and sheik. The rooms are stylish and comfortable. The hotel also features indoor and outdoor pools, fitness center, day spa (additional fee). The restaurant and bar are very modern-looking. Plus, oodles and oodles of conference space combined with the proximity to gasp make this hotel and ideal business hotel.”

• Friendly staff and nice pools, our two year old loved it.
• Loud neighbors did not let us sleep till after 12:30 am. Room not vacuumed daily.

• The decor, facilities, and decor were very good.
• The restaurant could do a better job for the prices that were charged. A better menu choice is needed.

“Overall Good. To continue with our explanation of the restaurant, we ate there one evening and decided to eat elsewhere the rest of our stay. Generally we expect more from Marriott. Prices are always inflated therefore more should be expected.”

• This is a beautiful facility with spacious grounds and a large open lobby area.
• The food is mediocre and the selection is limited.

“This hotel was recently refurbished. The decor is bright and inviting. The beds are very comfortable. All of the rooms are equipped with a small refrigerator and a coffeemaker.”

• Renovation is fabulous. Beds are wonderful! It's unique!
• No free champagne. I'm joking, of course.

“Decorating is bold and exciting. Hallways, believe it or not, create great ambience, great side lighting. The smoker's lounge is an added plus, though would be even better if smoking were not allowed in that we don't smoke anymore. Service at the desk was unusually good in that there were 3 people always on duty.”

“The best hotel that I have used in the Greenville area (out of about a dozen including the Hyatt and Hilton). Staff accommodated our request for non-smoking. Location is not too far from most areas of interest.”

• The restaurant and food quality was mediocre. Not very tasty.

“The staff is excellent. The grounds are well kept and attractive. The hotel offers a very well appointed business center. The facility was recently remodeled and the decor is warm and vibrant. The rooms are very appealing and the beds offer a great night's sleep.”

“The hotel itself was fine. I felt the staff didn't go out of their way to accommodate my request for a non-smoking room. When they offered to use an ionizer to get the smoke smell out of the room, I agreed and then the staff never showed. ”

• The decorating was kind of oriental, Asian, not my style.

• Cheerful and bright decor, comfortable beds, and great location.
• Outside looks like a dated 70's Marriott.

“I felt like I was in a Disney Resort Hotel. The decor is funky, but I really liked it. There is a spa that offers a variety of services, and the beds are really comfortable. Sunday brunch was good, and the coffee is all Starbucks.”

“I have stayed at lesser rated hotels that had larger and just as clean rooms that also offered a free breakfast. I do not think this was such great value, and when in Greenville again, there are other places I'd rather stay, for the money. The room was clean, though, and I would stay there again if the other hotels were not available.”

“From the time I walked into the lobby, I could tell this would be a good experience. The hotel lobby is beautiful. A lot of hotels put a lot of money into making the lobby nice, then you get to the room and they are very drab. The room was absolutely fantastic. The extra touches like the down comforter and the double shower head made me want to stay a lot longer than I was able to.”

• I was surprised that it was listed as only a 3 star. I loved the hotel.
• The jacuzzi had an extremely strong chlorine odor. We were unable to use this facility due to this issue.

“Overall, the hotel was very nice. It appearred to be recently renovated. All staff members were helpful and curteous. I enjoyed my stay and wish I could have lengthened my stay to enjoy the facilities more.”

• The location, for our purposes, was very convenient. Close to I-85 and lots of restaurants.
• Entrance to motel is a little confusing.

“The location is good. The Marriott is located close to I-85 but without the road noise. There are many restaurants to choose from in the general vicinity. The bed was very comfortable. Best of all, the heater/air conditioner was quiet.”

• Friendly and warm people.
• There was some kind of camera shoot going on that cause the facility to look very messy and using the lobby made you feel uncomfortable.
