• An excellent place to stay, one of the best in Greenville.
• The food and beverage prices were so high we went elsewhere to eat.

“Of the dozens of times and places we've stayed in Greenville this is the second best we've ever had. Neither the Hilton nor the Hyatt Place exceeded the Crown Plaza. A few years back, the Hyatt Regency was a little better, but not now.”

• It was newly renovated, clean and attractive. The price we paid with tax was less than half the normal rate, and we were pleased with the value.

• Very nice ambiance.
• Smokers outside the doors, nearly every time I went out.

“Very nice hotel. Positives included comfortable bed/pillows, wireless access, desk area, chair in room. Negatives included conversations heard in next room, slow bathtub drain, not enough lighting in bathroom, no ventilation fan, smokers outside doors nearly every time I went in or out.”

• Very functional, spacious, and quiet lobby space - able to comfortably read and use computer with wireless.
• Like most hotels in the USA these days, the room ventilation system used loud fans. But this makes this hotel the same as others, or a little better.

“This was a very comfortable hotel for business use. Much better than I expected! And really appreciate not having loud music and/or TVs playing in public spaces. Some hotels these days are dreadful - continuous, loud mediocre music or TV playing from lobby through elevators and even on in the rooms as one first enters. Thank you for attention to providing a more peaceful demeanor.”

• Lobby area and staff was nice.

“Horrible! The plumbing, the toilet, the television in room was bad. They gave me buffet vouchers and free movies. That day, was not allowed to use voucher, and movies did not work. The light in the restroom did not work in new room, the hassle of having to pack and move to another room. Very disappointing all around.”

• The room, bathroom and beds were clean and fresh.
• Our view was of the roof and
  AC system (we were on the 4th floor).

“I found the hotel to be clean both inside and out. The staff was pleasant, the room was quiet even though we were near the elevator. The beds were comfortable. Although we did not use it, an up-scale restaurant was attached to the hotel and I am sure a good meal would have been provided. We would have enjoyed a balcony but this was not a necessity.”

• We didn't sleep well - poor temp control on noisy window unit heater; big fluffy pillows were pretty, but uncomfortable.

“We were placed in a smoking room even though we requested a non smoking room- they changed us after calling to the main desk. The elevator was hard to find. under construction. There was no coffee or breakfast offered and amenties were not as nice as some of the other local hotels.”

• It was clean and the staff very helpful and friendly. Service was very good.
• Breakfast was not a high standard. Hash browns and French toast were off.

“The hotel was very clean and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Room service was prompt, but a little pricey. Breakfast although in lovely surroundings could have been better, but the selection was very good. All in all it was a very pleasant stay.”

• It was being remodeled so it is hard to recommend anything just now.
• We were assigned three different rooms and didn't get settled for the night until 1 a.m.

“The first room had white Styrofoam snow coming out of the vents for heat and cooling when they were turned on. The second room assigned to us was already occupied when we turned our key in the door to go in. The third room was o.k. but it didn't have two separate beds as we had requested, only 1 king size.”

• This hotel offered a convenient location.
• I did not like having dirty bed linens; I did not like paying 100+ per night and having to pay 20 bucks for a breakfast that cheaper hotels offer free.

• In-house restaurant good during week. Buffet ran out on Sun. morning, slow to respond.

• Had a problem using the room phone.

“My husband and I stayed here for a weekend getaway that included a concert nearby. We found our room to be very clean and comfortable. The hotel seemed to be very family friendly. The location is close to a mall and chain restaurants. The hotel was very easy to find and convenient to our travel needs. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.”

• The best thing about our room was the bed. It was very comfortable.
• The closet was small with a pull out rod. I personally did not find the system to be user friendly.

“The Crowner Plaza is located close to I-385, Haywood Mall, and many restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our rooms were comfortable and clean. The Crowner Plaza met our expectations.”

• They had great amenities, such as a relaxation cd and mouthwash.
• The pool and spa was broken, they couldn't find us rooms together, and the beds were the wrong size.

“The hotel had a lot of problems that they didn't inform us of. Things like double beds and a pool were factors that we took into consideration before picking this hotel, and everything that we wanted they didn't seem to have. Also, even though they had a lot of problems with what we requested, they didn't seem to want to fix any of it.”

• Star bucks coffee could be purchased in the lobby, and the room included lavender spray for the bed.
• Check-in process took 30 minutes, involved 3 room changes, pool was in operational, and the front desk people not very friendly, elevator malfunction.

“I will not stay at the Crowne Plaza in Greenville again. Imagine going up and down three floors several times because of the room being wrong with three children who have been cooped up for hours in a vehicle. These children had been looking forward to swimming in the pool, which was being worked on. Yes, the staff switched us to what they had (a handicapped room), and I realize rooms were limited. It took us 30-40 minutes to get into a room. I wish I had stayed at the Westin Poinsett. Next time I will.”

• No wireless or network connection to support my laptop, very noisy (could hear every door slam and trucks as they went by).

“I really like the location and the room is nicely set up. the bedding is excellent and the room is really nice. I had some concerns because I could not get a internet connection with my laptop either wireless of through network cable. I was on the road working so this really affected me negatively. Every room door that slammed all night long rang loudly in my room. I could hear trucks on the interstate as they went by as well, so sleeping was not sound at all. I kept being awoken by doors and trucks. ”

“The walk from the desk to the elevators is forever! Rolling your luggage on a cart was cumbersome and difficult, no bellmen. The area was kind of iffy, stay closer to downtown on Haywood Road, much nicer area and only 2 minutes from downtown. The beds were wonderful! Almost as good as Heavenly Beds at West in!”

• The workout room, business center, pool, and spa were all very nice.
• I was expecting to be close to downtown - I was 10 minutes away - this was very disappointing since all our plans were downtown.

“Everything was new and in excellent condition. The bed was wonderful. They spent a lot of time and effort making sure the room was comfortable for sleeping (drape clips, soothing music CD, eye mask, ear plugs, high thread count sheets, very high quality bedding).”

• Loved the wonderful beds and bedding.
• Starbucks was not open much of the time.

“I had a view of a brick wall outside my room. It was a basic hotel room except for the awesome beds. I have had similar accommodations in lower ranked hotels. The lobby was nicer but I would rather have the amenities in my room such as nicer carpet, furniture. Some things in room looked dated. Everyone was nice and pleasant though and things seemed cleaned.”
