• The down comforters and pillows were very nice and comfortable.
• The sinks were clogged. I reported this to the front desk as we were leaving, but she seemed to just dismiss it.

“This hotel is supposed to be under construction, but in my days there I never noticed any evidence of it, except for the signs warning us about it. The rooms were pretty, clean, and very comfortable.”

• Nothing - it was a great value and a great place.

“We were here for a total of ten nights and not once did we ever get that claustrophobic feeling here; the bar & restaurant were both terrific in quality & service, the bed in the room was super comfy, great linens & towels, great fitness center, perfect location, and the staff was so helpful and accommodating at all levels, from front desk manager to housekeeping. We would return here in a Heartbeat.”

• Very accommodating staff, very comfy beds, great location & fitness center.

“We had an extended stay here and it was a wonderful place to call home for ten nights. The staff everywhere is helpful, accommodating and willing to please at all times. The location is perfect, near everything and easy to get to Downtown, and the amenities are better than a 3 star rating; great fitness center, lovely pool, very comfy beds and linens, free wireless for our internet work, and the in-house restaurant/bar are both excellent. Great value; we will return.”

• It wasn't as clean as I would have expected from such an expensive hotel. They also wouldn't allow me to request non-smoking or 2 beds ahead.

• The breakfast was $14 each and was TERRIBLE.

• Didn't provide breakfast and seemed more geared toward business traveler.

“Very high quality hotel with great lobby and bar area. More geared toward business and conference attendee. Convenient to University, but not to highway. No free breakfast like others in this class.”

• No stairs accessible from 1st floor to 2nd floor (up). One traveler has clinical claustrophobia and cannot use elevators.

“Great setting and location. Very clean. No hairdryer in room. Only one ice machine on floor (very, very long halls). No snack machines. No access to stairway from 1st to 2nd floor (going up).”

• The carpet in my room was worn and looked old.

“The hotel was very attractive. The lobby had gorgeous rich colors, every public area was extremely clean and well appointed. This hotel was one of the nicest Hiltons I have stayed at in recent years.”

• Went during FL-GA basketball game, drunk fans woke us up at 2:00-3:30 a.m.

“This is a very nice place to stay, upscale hotel, everything you need is only a few miles away. Since it is in "Gator Country" you have to be prepared for fans coming in at wee hours during basketball or football games.”

• Friendly, comfort, clean, loved bedding.
• TV too complicated, no TV guide. No snack machines. Lobby store was closed when I arrived at 7:00 p.m. Really did not want to leave hotel.

“Overall, it was an excellent stay. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room quiet. I was right by the elevators and did not hear a sound outside the door.”

• The rooms were gorgeous and very clean.
• Albert's, their restaurant, was hideous. Dennys has better food.

“I am a travel agent and a world traveler. No bellman upon entering or leaving was a huge surprise. They were inside, talking with each other and watching us with our luggage, and I walk with a cane. When checking in, the woman seemed confused. We asked for a handicapped room. It was terrible walking so far. Why put a handicapped room there? The rooms were clean and gorgeous. Their lacking wireless computer connections was a shock and uncomfortable as their desk/chair combo was too hard on the wrists. We decided to eat at their restaurant, Alberts. We were the only ones inside, which should have spoke volumes to us, but we sat down. Upon delivery of the ice water was our second clue to run, as it was horrible tasting, lemon could not even remove the taste. I was shocked I was at the Hilton. Our appetizer, calamari, arrived and it was cold and the boxed variety that is just the rings. Again, I was so unimpressed. Secondly came our French onion soup. Again, cold and all the salt and pepper in the world could not make it taste like anything at all. Very disturbing. My Ahi salad was to come on a bed of exotic vegetables. It was bagged salad. The tomato vedges were mushy, cucumber, zucchini and carrot garnish not exotic and they over cooked my Ahi after I asked for it to be raw on the inside. I took this sad tuna off the wilted and sad salad and pushed it to the side and ate the Ahi with one cold roll. My partner had chicken breast and asked for the vegetable medley. The chicken arrived with a small drumette attached. How could that be a breast? Green beans filled his plate; there was no medley of vegetables. At least they took my salad off our bill. Someone did come over and find out why we did not like our meal and we described our experiences in fine hotels all over the world and nothing was this shocking to find at a Hilton.”

“The Hilton is a very nice hotel, with very comfy beds and a good view out the windows. The staff was very nice to my whole family and we will stay there again on our next trip to Gainesville.”

• Difficult parking when the conference center in use.

“Great location for Gainesville Downtown and university. Clean hotel, great restaurant and bar area. Shop was closed most of the weekend therefore it was difficult to find snack food or 24 hr. Coffee. Finding parking near to the building can be a challenge when the conference center is in use.”

• I always take a memory form cover for the mattress but the bed was perfect so I didnt need it.
• The automated check out stand was not working.

“This hotel was wonderful. Very nicely kept and very attractive. The bed really won me over. I have a bad back and always take a memory foam mattress cover to put on top of the bed but this bed was so comfortable I did not need it.”

“Convenient to UF, our destination. Very clean and lovely both inside and out. Friendly staff. Great beds with lots of pillows & towels. A/c was very cold and easy to regulate. Double sided closet was a nice touch. We inquired about a roll away bed when we checked in & was told it would be $15. After returning to the hotel later that evening, we requested one and received it promptly at no additional charge. We did not eat at the hotel, but the restaurant looked very nice.”

• The bottled water in the room that they charge 3.50 if you drink it.

“The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was big and had a nice countertop and wallpaper, the room was clean. The room door was inside the building that makes me feel safer. The room was spacious and smelled clean.”

• Pool is great, nice bar, very clean, close to UF.
• Usually too expensive, but a bargain when you can get it.

“I've tried a lot of hotels in Gainesville, and this is easily the best. Not real fancy, but very nice, clean, comfortable and friendly. The pool is excellent, rooms are neat and tidy, and the staff is friendly. Excellent location very close to UF and not far from downtown, shopping, theaters, and restaurants. Often too expensive, but on slow college weekends (no UF home games).”

• The whole, total, experience was outstanding, as near perfect as could be.
• Could not find one thing to find fault with.

“Total experience was four or five stars! Absolutely perfect in every way. Enjoyed every minute of the stay here and cannot say enough good things about this hotel. • I liked everything about this hotel; its what a hotel should be.
• I didn't find anything I didn't like.

“This was one of the best hotel stays I have had in a long time. The staff was great, the room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. A very nice bar even had Bass on tap. The dining room was clean and the breakfast buffet was very good. Beautiful pool and Jacuzzi. Another great thing was that there was an internet connection free in the room and all the wiring was there all I had to do was plug my computer in with the Ethernet cable that was on the desk. If you're staying in Gainesville this is the place to stay.”

• Great amenities. Well kept and well appointed. Ethernet cable and very comfortable beds.
• Zephyrhills water. Don't like it. Think it is cheap, poor quality water and not up to the rest of the surroundings. (But that was my only gripe).

• The customer service was outstanding and the quality for the price that I paid exceeded my expectations.
• The only thing that I did not like was the choice of dining inside the hotel but there are plenty of choices nearby.

“I had an amazing stay at the Hilton university of Florida conference center in Gainesville, fl. I was extremely pleased with the very courteous staff that greeted me instantly. They offer valet parking and on the day of departure they retrieved my car they had the heater going on that very cold morning and asked me if I needed directions to a nearby gas station or breakfast facility. The room itself was very comfortable, clean, and well stocked with amenities. The beds are nice and plush. Instead of the normal two pillows on each bed, there were five along with plush down comforters. The landscaping is beautiful and attractive. I do not have one thing to complain about. I was very pleased and I am looking forward to staying there again.”

“This is a great hotel if you are visiting the University of Florida campus. It is an easy commute to the school. Restaurants and shops are also easily accessible. The rooms are clean and the room decor is very pleasing to the eye.”

• The room service was really prompt even at the late hour that I ordered.
• The parking area could be improved upon especially for someone that travels by themselves.

“It's a nice hotel and the location is was close to most places but it doesn't really strike me as a family hotel. When I had arrived to check in no one behind the desk even acknowledged me and it took a few minutes before they did so I thought that was kind of rude.”
