• Helpful, friendly staff.
• Only one working elevator, no chair in room.

“Hotel has been under renovations for 6 months or more now. Lobby still torn up, hallways still half painted, nice new beds in rooms now along with some of the new furniture, but one of our rooms had beds and a desk but no chair to sit on in the room. The other room had beds and a nice chair, but no desk. It will probably be fine if they ever complete the renovations.”

• Staff was great, when assistance was necessary they were very helpful.

“This hotel was outstanding for the price! they were renovating but the rooms were very clean and modern. staff was very helpful when assistance was required. Conveniently located near interstate, mall, and restaurants.”

• Paying $4 admission to bar! Dirty rooms.

“Although the hotel is under construction that does not excuse dirty rooms. Broken air conditioners. No pots in coffee makers etc.”

• Clean, friendly staff, centrally located.
• Room was too humid, several attempts to obtain a working key.

“The Holiday Inn, Johnson City, Tennessee provided friendly service. The hotel is still under construction, but the rooms were clean. Housekeeping and front desk staff was prompt with requests. This hotel is conveniently located.”

“The holiday inn is being renovated. Our room didn't have chairs or pictures. It was clean. Holiday inn doesn't provide a continental breakfast or newspaper like most of the other hotels we stayed at.”

• Brand new remodel. Everything new. Great bed.
• Some remodeling still in progress.

• It was convenient to the area.
• There was a 2 inch gap between wall and windows, could here and see others in rooms beside ours.

“The hotel was in a good location. The room didn't look as if vacuumed very well. It also had an odor to it. The two inch gap between the wall and the windows on each side of the room was scary. I had to stuff towels in the gap at 2:00 a.m. just to cut out the voices of people in the rooms next to ours, you could hear every word that they spoke. We could not sleep for that. They were Mexicans all over the motel were construction was going on. Construction workers took a lot of the parking spaces.”

• The lobby was quite impressive and looked luxurious.
• They were remodeling and the hallway was dirty.

“When the remodeling is done it will be very nice. There was nice carpeting and new wall paper in the room. The bath was nice, very hot water, all new tile. Very good value for the price. The only thing disruptive was the house keeping staff knocking on the door at 9 AM. Fortunately I was awake, but had I been a late sleeper, I would have been unhappy. I think she should have waited until we checked out at 11 AM to check on cleaning the room.”

• The location of the hotel is great. Easy off/on to major interstate.
• The hotel was in the middle of renovations. It will be great once it is done but should have been told about it.

“I have stayed at this hotel several times. It has always been a great experience. The only complaint this time was the hotel was under renovations.”

“This hotel definitely needs lots of work. The room smells. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It's rated 2 stars and actually should be rated 0.5 star. Didn't meet my expectation at all.”

“Probably was a nice hotel at one time. Looks like they waited far past time to renovate. Strong smell of glue and paint. Everything in disarray. Vanity terrible. Sounds of construction, drills and etc. During the day. If my wife had been with me, she would have made me leave.”

• The staff was friendly and helpful.
• The hotel was under construction. The lobby was filled with mattresses. Our room was primed, but not painted, with no molding and no pictures on.

“This will probably be a great find in the near future. Right now, however, the hotel is under construction. The staff was friendly. We were promised a complimentary breakfast, but they opened the restaurant while we were there and took the complimentary breakfast away. The hotel was supposed to have wireless internet, but it did not work in the room, the halls or the lobby area. Finally when I went up to the check in counter and said I still could not get wireless there, and the line of people started lamenting the lack of wireless, the clerk tied me in to the hotel's wireless system. This hotel worked for me because of the price and because I was on a trip where I needed to do research outside of the hotel. Had it been one for meeting clients, having meetings or doing research in the room, it would have been very embarrassing.”

• I enjoyed the continental breakfast they offered.
• Hotel was dirty, outdated, and undergoing renovation which should have caused hotel to be shut down.

“The hotel overall was not a pleasant place to stay. We had to change rooms 3 times before finally finding a decent room. The first room literally had black mold growing on the ceiling. The second room, had no dresser or mirror, and the furniture was absolutely disgusting. The third room which they claimed was one of their best, would be classified as a normal motel room at a motel 8 or lower class place for lodging. The hotel should have been completely closed down while undergoing renovation. The hallways were covered in drywall dust, and their was a mess everywhere. I seen some of the areas that were done with renovation, and they still seemed very sub-standard. I would not recommend this place to anyone!”

• The location was quite convenient for what we needed in an overnight stay!
• The hotel is going through major renovations- what a mess!

“The Holiday Inn in Johnson City, TN, has always been thought of as a nice place to stay, bit pricey but still very nice. However, the hotel must have been in need of a face-lift for some time because the interior was quite dated. But, I wasn't expected to land in the lobby just as it was being refurbished. I could hardly find the front desk for the yellow tape and dust. I'm sure it'll be nice when they get finished. The room was clean but you could see the shabbiness of the hallways. The staff seemed to be as dusty as the lobby.”

• Hard to see from the road, passed it by first time.

“Nice hotel, competent staff (hard to find these days). A little hard to see from rt 64, it is set back a ways and the entrance is not marked from the main roadway. No shampoo in the bath and shower curtain was a little old and dirty.”

• Nice, quiet room.
• The breakfast buffet only had microwave to heat up hash browns.

“I specifically asked for as quiet a room as possible, and we got a room on the second floor. It was surprisingly quiet, especially for a motel style facility. The doors were easy to close without slamming. This contributed to the quiet. I recommend it.”

• Could easily hear guests in next room when they were loud.

“It met the needs for my business travel and was a fair value for the price. Certainly wasn't anything fancy. Is an older hotel. Was supposed to have outdoor heated pool, but wasn't warm enough to use.”
