Steven from Columbus,OH
“A superb value in terms of room size, in-room amenities, location, cleanliness, helpful staff, and hot breakfast.” Jun 2, 2008 by
Brian from Sausalito, CA
“Great staff. Outstanding breakfast buffet. Clean and comfortable room. I would recommend the place. The area of Tampa is downtown. Not much to do right around the hotel but the shuttle will take you where you want to go.” Apr 17, 2008 by
Susan from Cass, WV
“Residence Inn By Marriott - Tampa, Florida this hotel was much better than we expected it to be. We were pleasantly surprised when we saw our room and the room was clean an comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful with information about the area. Thank you for making our first experience a good one.” Mar 17, 2008 by
Helina from Barrie Ontario, CA
“This was our second stay at this hotel. We enjoyed it very much last time. This time however, it was not as good. The major complaint I have is that the pool was cold. Arriving from snow country, we were looking forward to enjoying a swim, but the water was freezing. We complained but for the entire 4 days we were there, the temperature did not improve. Otherwise, this hotel is a great find. The staff is extremely friendly. The studio room is nice with lots of space. And it is sufficiently clean. The kitchen with fridge, micro, and dishwasher is very convenient. And the dishes, glasses and cutlery make it easy to eat in. The breakfast each day was good. Lots to choose from and replenished quickly. The manager's reception included 3 types of wine, 2 types of beer, and snacks which changed each evening. During our stay we had chicken noodle soup, Caesar salad, garlic bread, chili with chips, cheese and crackers, veggies and dip, etc. It was a nice way to relax with fellow travellers in the evening. The hotel is family friendly and even has a basketball court to use, but it usually is filled with business travelers. There is not much to do in the immediate area, but we went out in the evening for a walk and felt quite safe. The parking lot is gated and costs $8/day. All in all, this hotel is a good deal for the price and I would stay there again.” Mar 1, 2008 by
John from Orlando, FL
“This hotel is convenient to downtown Tampa. The suites are spacious and well appointed. The hotel is quiet and friendly with delicious breakfasts and afternoon social hours with beverages and snacks. All in all it is a winner!” Feb 25, 2008 by
Daniel from Pocatello, ID
“Nice, typical Residence Inn. Daily breakfast provided as well as some small meal most nights. Small pool, exercise room, hot tub. Kitchenettes with adequate supplies if cooking for self.” Feb 5, 2008 by
Richard from Shreveport, LA
“Good bargain, with shuttle service to the Tampa Convention Center. Also, the city transportation Trolley service stops on either side of the hotel. Rooms are large and comfortable, and the staff offers a daily happy hour with food & beverages during the week.” Feb 5, 2008 by
Tamara from Burley, ID
“I loved the Hotel, but I didn't like the idea of having to pay to park.” Jan 26, 2008 by
Teresa from Rotonda West, FL
“Great room and better than I expected. The photos of the hotel do not do it justice. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the room was very clean. We used this shuttle both nights we stayed and it was great. It would have been convenient if the shuttle had run a little later into the night, but a cab was very easy to find. Over all I would stay here again. A real plus to have coffee in the room and in the lobby.” Nov 19, 2007 by
Bobbi from Marysville, OH
“We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. We arrived early and they held our luggage for us so we could go do something while waiting to check in. The staff provided helpful information on things to do and see in Tampa and went above and beyond with anything we needed. The bed was comfortable. The sofa was nice to have but not very comfortable.” Oct 28, 2007 by
Laura from Centennial, CO
“Good downtown location, close to a park, good dinner food at the courtyard by Marriott next door. Friendly staff. Comfortable and clean room.” Oct 20, 2007 by
Laura from Minocqua, WI
“I enjoyed everything about the hotel except for the shuttle bus. The driver left me stranded one afternoon And the hotel kept saying he was coming. After an hour, I got my own ride back. It seems that we were usually waiting longer for the shuttle then we were told the wait would be. On the last night we took a cab back from the convention center rather than wait for the shuttle.” Aug 27, 2007 by
Carl from Weston, FL
“Good location, really a business hotel.” Aug 2, 2007 by
Gabrielle B. from Miami, FL
“I stayed very comfortably in this hotel. Its location was convenient in terms of the places I was visiting. The neighborhood was a little run-down, with abandoned buildings surrounding it, but the parking is in a gated lot. Overall my stay was great and I'd recommend it!” Apr 3, 2007 by
Jerry from Roanoke, VA
“Pleasant rooms, well equipped kitchen with all the necessary supplies for in room hosting. Great balcony for the evening when the sun went down. Friendly and helpful staff. Exceptional breakfasts that comes with the price of the room. In walking distance with conference hotels in downtown Tampa.” Mar 28, 2007 by
Vanessa from Doctors Inlet, FL
“Great to have a full kitchen, free breakfast, and a free shuttle for downtown. Staff was pleasant and bed was comfy. But, no dining or shopping options around the hotel.” Mar 22, 2007 by
Carol from Tampa, FL
“The location was great. The shuttle was excellent. The staff was courteous. The overall hotel was wonderful. The complimentary breakfast buffet was slow to supplement empty items, but it was included in the price and I understand patience.” Mar 19, 2007 by
Halina from Barrie, ON CA
“Great value for the money. Good variety at breakfast; sausages and oatmeal were yummy. Complimentary happy hour (5-7pm) with unlimited beer and wine, snacks. Wonderful large, warm outdoor pool, 2 hot tubs, and plentiful towels. Large, clean rooms, comfortable bed. Good size kitchen in room. Friendly staff. Locked, fenced parking area. Would stay again for sure.” Mar 14, 2007 by
Paul from Washington, DC
“I strongly recommend this hotel. Staff understands ones needs and responds. Tampa could upgrade its art museum which is a very short walk from the hotel. However, the nearby FLY was a positive night time dinner and an enjoyable scene. While changing, right now, downtown Tampa is devoid of people. I think nobody works there and they just put the lights on the office buildings at night to make it look otherwise. I had to drive to Port Manatee but was pleased to stay in downtown Tampa.” Feb 28, 2007 by
A from Melbourne, FL
“I felt like I was branded with a huge a on my chest. The shuttle driver was so scary. It took 1 hour to get 1 mile, no joke. He was on the phone with his girlfriend while we were holding our breaths hoping to get there alive.” Feb 28, 2007 by
Jack
“Good location. Nice rooms. Very clean. Two blocks from performing arts center. A little far away from restaurants. All in all great value.” Feb 27, 2007 by
David from Kannapolis, NC
“Great hotel convenient to downtown and a great price.” Feb 23, 2007 by
Jeff from Indianapolis, IN
“Great hotel for the business traveler. Located right off the interstate. Room was clean. Staff was friendly. I would stay there again if I went on business. If you're traveling for pleasure you may want to stay closer to downtown. This hotel is a bit far from the nightlife but they do provide a shuttle service which is fairly convenient but it stops running at 10:00 pm so, it can get you there but you'll have to take a cab back. Still good for a leisure traveler if you're in a pinch. The room had a lot of space, with a full kitchen and a sectional sofa. Would be a great hotel if you were going to be there for an extended period.” Feb 21, 2007 by
Jennifer from Mechanicsville, VA
“The Howard john sons in Tampa was not very nice, and it was under construction, so things were not very clean, the restaurant in this hotel was horrible, no wait staff, waited over an hour for cold food, very loud people in room next door who tried to come in through the adjoining room, ended up calling front desk and complaining, nothing was resolved, no discount, couldn¿t wait to go home! I would not recommend this hotel and would not stay again.” Dec 4, 2006 by
Michelle from South Bend, IN
“We arrived at noon & called to see if there was early check in. We asked if we could have rooms on the same floor. We had some facing the city and other facing the outside pool area. Both views were nice. Every room had a kitchette that is stocked with dishes, microwave, full refrigerator, coffee maker, sink, dish washer. The room decorations were nice and the bed was comfy. There is a sitting area that has a twin pull out sofa bed. I thought that it was going to be a full size but it was not big deal. For no additional cost they gave us 1 room that was not all open but instead the bedroom was an enclosed bedroom. That was nice for privacy purposes since we put my dad & adult sister in that room. This hotel includes a full extended breakfast. They have waffles, fruit, yogurt, cereal, muffins, bagels, and then they change the hot foods daily for variety. They have a nice sitting area to eat in & it did get a little crowded at times. The hotel has complimentary shuttle service within a 3 mile radius. They will take you to York City, the cruise port or any other place within 3 miles. We rented cars and parked in their gated, secured lot across the street for $8 a day. We used the shuttle on the last morning to be shuttled to the cruise port. The hotel is back to back with a Marriott & the hotels share an outdoor area. This area is very nicely landscaped with a tropical feel that has several large palms. There is a pool that was heated & 2 hot tubs, an enclosed basketball court area, several tables and shares and a gas grill. We did take advantage of cooking out on the grill 1 night since we had about 13 people. We had our own little cookout/pool party at the hotel. It was great & the hotel staff made sure to let us know that they would do the clean up. During another night we were in the pool & the staff came out to let us know that there was freshly popped popcorn for us to enjoy.” Nov 13, 2006 by
Hale G. from Canyon Lake, CA
“Our room faced the street and was way too noisy. We stayed 3 nights. One night, a drunken party was in the lobby and the entrance of the hotel from 1-5am. I complained at 3am and the night clerk did nothing to shut them up. When I spoke with the desk staff, all I got was an apology. Nothing to make up for a lousy stay. I've got choices never again with you.” Nov 13, 2006 by
Paula from Andover, MA
“Clean, comfortable, high speed internet, my own kitchen. What more could a business traveler want? The studio was more spacious than the studio apartment used by a family member enrolled in a college program away from home!” Oct 2, 2006 by
Amy from San Francisco, CA
“I wasn't expecting such a perfect match for my needs, but I got such a good place!” Sep 7, 2006 by
Vincent from Delray Beach, FL
“Above average with helpful front desk staff/hard to communicate with housekeeping staff/Language barrier.” Aug 28, 2006 by
Kathleen from Hermitage, PA
“would definitely stay at again. excellent value for the money. suite nice size. Excellent complimentary breakfast & social hour. friendly staff.” Aug 24, 2006 by
Jennifer from Orange Park, FL
“I arrived at the hotel and was immediately greeted by the front office clerk. She checked me in quickly and even allowed me to apply my stay to my Marriott rewards account. I was given keys and directions for the parking lot, got my things, and went up to my room. I decided to take a nap and to my surprise the bed was a pillow top, with down pillows and comforter. I went to my concert and came back and watched TV on an unusually comfy couch as well. There were more than enough towels for my shower the next morning. I checked out and was on my merry way.” Aug 14, 2006 by
Beverly from New Hudson, MI
“From the moment we arrived, we had the best of everything. Cynthia, on the desk, was very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were excellently appointed. The meal in the dining room was very good with a diverse menu and good service. The beds in each room were remarked upon by each of the four couples with which we were traveling. Also, the availability of a free shuttle to the Carnival Cruise docks was a nice plus.” Jul 18, 2006 by
Donna from Tamarac, FL
“I stayed here while in downtown Tampa for a conference. For the price that I paid, it was a great place to stay. Many of the people who attended my conference were staying at other hotels downtown and paid more than twice what I paid. The shuttle made it easy to get to and from my conference every day. The longest I waited for the shuttle was 20 minutes. Having the kitchen would be really nice if you were there with your family.” May 31, 2006 by
Yvette from Miami, FL
“It was ok.” May 17, 2006 by
Mari from Tampa, FL
“Very pretty all around. Very nice pool, hot tub, grilling area, basketball area (netted so you did not have to chase the ball). I had a small balcony which was a surprise added bonus. The room had a great floor plan and an oh so comfy bed. Very clean. I loved it!” May 15, 2006 by
Linda from Redwood City, CA
“This is a great place to stay for a business traveler. The room was large with a kitchenette, desk and living room. A very nice continental breakfast was available in the morning, and drinks in the evening. The staff is friendly, and the hotel provides local transportation. Every need is met. The hotel is recommended. I'll stay there again.” Apr 23, 2006 by
Stacy from Novi, MI
“This hotel allows you to have the convenience of a mini kitchen and plenty of extra room. It isn't in the greatest part of downtown but the hotel itself is safe and locked up. They provide a shuttle to ybor and other surrounding areas which is nice. This service goes to 11 pm. The cost of a cab from most of these areas is only 7-8 bucks! I would definite stay here again and recommended it for both leisure and families.” Apr 21, 2006 by
Nancy from Jacksonville, FL
“Hotel was perfectly placed in the center of the city and was close to great places to visit. The library was just across the street. We loved everything about it. The breakfast buffet was excellent and hot chocolate chip cookies to snack on coming in and out.” Apr 18, 2006 by
Janice from Pbg, FL
“Very nice for downtown Tampa. The shuttle was Great!” Apr 12, 2006 by
Donald from Grand Rapids, MI
“Very nice hotel with lots of amenities. Suite is very large and lobby has internet usage and a very nice continental breakfast.” Apr 10, 2006 by
Mary from Spring Lake, MI
“Overall our stay was okay. It was hard to find. The area businesses close early and it wasn't an area to venture out in at night.” Apr 2, 2006 by
Renee from Glen Ellyn, IL
“We used this hotel pre-cruise. Not a lot to do within walking distance but they do provide a courtesy shuttle to anywhere within 2 miles which included the cruise port and channel side where there are lots of restaurants. Very clean nice hotel.” Mar 13, 2006 by
Duane from Oceanside, CA
“Clean spacious rooms, friendly staff, with a very good complimentary breakfast. Excellent location for extended business related stays in downtown business district. A good location for travelers using the cruise ships. However if the stay is just for leisure and you are dependent on the local transportation network, I would look to other facilities due to the lack of any nearby entertainment options. This hotel is located in a business district.” Mar 8, 2006 by
Chris from Swanton, OH
“One of my favorite stays.” Feb 21, 2006 by
Patty from Jacksonville, FL
“Residence Inn Downtown Tampa was very clean. It offered a free shuttle within 2 miles. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this facility.” Jan 30, 2006 by

“The rooms were large, extremely clean and nice. The breakfast was wonderful and the free happy hour was an added bonus as well. The hotel was located right beside interstate entrance/exits so it was convenient and parking was close and affordable.” Jan 11, 2006 by
Jesus from Coral Gables, FL
“There was blood stains all over the bed it was nasty.” Nov 20, 2005 by
Debbie from Belleview, FL
“The suite was very spacious and I loved the balcony! We were attending an event at the St. Pete Times Forum, and the location was perfect for walking. However, the suite was not very clean and the hotel staff was not very friendly. Card key machine was not working and guest were lining up to check in. One guest was kept waiting 20 minutes for a shuttle. We requested a shuttle and were told "it could be up to an hour wait" so we walked. Otherwise, it was a great place to stay.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Nov 16, 2005 by

“The hotel itself was nice and the rooms were homey and large. However the staff did not adhere to the guest's complaints whether it was regarding the room or another staff member. No effort was made to rectify the situation.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 18, 2005 by

“Location is good. Great hospitality with the happy hour Monday through Thursday which included appetizers. Good hot breakfast buffet in the morning as well. Nice touch. Our room was clean, spacious enough to accommodate the sleeper and the TV watcher.”
