“This hotel has recently been renovated, obviously. I was really impressed. I didn't have high expectations, but was very pleasantly surprised. It was super clean, convenient, had great bed linens and very comfortable bed.” Dec 9, 2008 by
Jason from Lynchburg,OH
“Everything was as would be expected at a Best Western other than there were roaches in our room which made our stay much less enjoyable.” Nov 14, 2008 by
Alda from Birmingham,AL
“Clean, refreshed and renewed hotel. Very nice.” Oct 24, 2008 by
Caroline
“This motel was great for our trip to Asheville and allowed for quick drives into downtown and to the Biltmore Estate. AC in our room was pretty loud the first night, but that may have been because of how we set it because it was fine the second night (and our traveling companions did not have a problem with it in their rooms). It is a motel rather than a hotel, but it was actually convenient for us to have our cars right there outside our rooms. If you just need a basic, comfortable place to stay for a few nights to visit Asheville and the Biltmore, this is a great choice and good value.” Sep 28, 2008 by

“The breakfast was very nice and well kept.” Sep 9, 2008 by
Syndi from Sugar Hill, GA
“The location of the hotel is nice, it is close to the Biltmore house as well as the Blue Ridge Parkway. However, it was not clean there were water spots on the toilet seat, on the sink faucet, and the mirror. The disposal cups had ripped plastic covers on them. The carpet had visible dirt accumulated in the entry way to the bathroom. The decor was very nice and appealing, and they are undergoing a renovation, but it was not clean.” Sep 6, 2008 by
Heather from North Augusta, SC
“The hotel was in a questionable part of town. The lobby was under renovation and the construction workers (Mexicans) were staying at the hotel. I did not feel safe or feel that it would be a good stay, so I ate the $75 and went to a better hotel.” Sep 3, 2008 by
Jeff from Piedmont, SC
“The location would be convenient for last minute. More of a motel than hotel.” Aug 12, 2008 by
Darrell from Asheville, NC
“The hotel is great. I just hated going outside every time I wanted to smoke. Watching a movie or working on paper work was a little hard not being able to smoke. Over all it was great.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Carol from Raleigh, NC
“I can not figure out why in the peak of summer tourist season a hotel would choose to have work done on their lobby and eating area. I found this a major inconvenience and kind of turned me off. Plus the area they provided for eating their complimentary continental breakfast was incredible small. Most of the time I had to carry back my food to my room which I did not appreciate. However, the hotel was in a great location to get to things in the area.” Aug 5, 2008 by
Tom from Loudon, TN
“OK in a pinch, for a brief stop and go one night stay, but priced too high for what you get. Like a Super 8 or Motel 6.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Caron from Cooper City, FL
“This hotel was very well for us. It was perfect location for the highways and down town Asheville. The beds were very comfortable and we were happy to have internet access. The pool was great. The only negative was the space for breakfast, although they were making it larger whilst we were there. They did run out of fruit and there wasn't so much to choose from. They could have had muffins and yogurts.” Jul 17, 2008 by
Beverly from Pleasant Shade, TN
“The room was very attractive. I loved the bedspread on the bed. It had great convenience in that it had, hairdryer, fridge, microwave, I mean everything. I love it.” Jun 30, 2008 by
Michelle from Fountain Run, KY
“The Best Western Biltmore East was adequate for our needs. It was standard for a hotel in this price range; nothing exceptional, nothing terrible. Not a vacation destination, but a safe and clean place to sleep.” Jun 8, 2008 by
Carmen from El Dorado Hills, CA
“If all you care about is the price, this hotel is fine.” Jun 7, 2008 by
Tessa from San Diego, CA
“Perhaps, I was unlucky, but I wouldn't stay at this hotel again in a hurry. The electrical wiring worried me. I get the impression the owner/s were trying to upgrade and therefore put every facility (internet, fridge, microwave, etc) into the rooms. The only thing is that the hotel was not built to accommodate that, and subsequently, the wiring was faulty, etc.” Jun 2, 2008 by
Sarah from Naperville, IL
“The hotel was pretty good for the price. A fine location and a nice pool, but the air conditioning in our room didn't work very well which makes for a tough night's sleep in the hot summer.” May 31, 2008 by
James from Mcdonough, GA
“Gave wrong directions, did not apologize for it and started taking breakfast down at 9:30, it goes till 10 a.m.” May 26, 2008 by
Megan from Chapel Hill, NC
“I liked this hotel very much. It was clean and close to Downtown, so it was perfect for my trip.” May 22, 2008 by
Robert from Holly Springs, NC
“The hotel is about five miles from the Biltmore resort. Lower tier restaurants in the general vicinity. Hotel is a little older and accommodations are dated. Carpet is dated. No movie rental capabilities. Poorly lighted rooms.” May 21, 2008 by
Dan from Atlanta, GA
“This Best Western is a recently updated motel. Things that are important were location, clean comfortable rooms, and helpful staff. Only disappointment was the poor selection of breakfast items. We would stay here again.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.May 20, 2008 by

“Best hotel for the money in ever-more expensive Asheville. Excellent location nearly the highway, Downtown, the Tunnel Road commercial area. But don't let the Biltmore name fool you. This hotel is not near the famous mansion. However, it's not far away, and if you stayed near Biltmore it cost you a lot more than staying at this Best Western.” May 17, 2008 by
Jerry from Kinston, NC
“Choose this hotel because of price and internet availability. Got to my room, internet did not work. Tried to call front desk, no one would answer. Walked down to front desk told to use USB cord. Went into down for business, returned to work to write reports. Internet not working. Tried to call front desk, no one would answer. Walked to front desk. Was told internet was down, man working on it. Asked for estimate as to how long this would take, was told would be fixed tonight. Asked to speak to repairman, was told he was not there. Reminded clerk she had just told me that the repairman was working on the internet, she had no response (after being caught in lie).” Jul 19, 2006 by
Maggie from Apex NC
“Hotel was OK overall, main problem was shower had cold then really hot water breakfast cereal continuously spilled out of the containers .lot of waste and tiny bowls to put cereal in also no fruit do not expect hot food or gourmet for price just a few apples or bananas and larger bowls to accommodate more than 1/5 cup of cereal and milk! Overall rate 7.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 17, 2005 by

“Cold water in shower did not work, called front desk...was told that they had not received any previous complaints. I had to explain that I was not complaining as water was not coming out of the shower. Requested room change, was denied - was told manager would come out to assess the situation. Manager arrived - said he fixed it. Water still did not come out of the shower. Called front desk again to complain and again request room change - was denied. Manager came out again with tools to fix but could not...finally complained a bit louder and room was changed. This was a bit of a hassle as we had been traveling all day and this took 1.5 hrs to get resolved. We had plans for the evening and were late due to the delay. other than this...our stay was great.” Nov 16, 2005 by
Jen from Fuquay Varina, NC
“This hotel is conveniently located. It is within a 5 minute drive to downtown Asheville and has several restaurants nearby. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful to us. We never stayed for the free breakfast because there wasn't enough to fill us, but it included basic doughnuts, plain bagels, cereal and a waffle maker. There was no fruit like I was hoping for. The room was clean and quiet. The bathroom was quite small, but you can't expect much more for a hotel with this star rating. Overall, a great experience.” Apr 24, 2005 by
Sara from Athens, TN
“Hotel is basic and clean. It kind of creeps me out these days if no effort is made to assure me the bedspreads are cleaned regularly. A frig was provided which is always nice.” Apr 12, 2005 by
Michelle from Kettering, OH
“If you want a good price and a simple place to sleep, the Best Western in Biltmore (Asheville, NC) was clean and affordable. The rooms were very spacious and well kept. A nice, free continental breakfast as well. For a 2-star rating, I was very pleased.” Mar 9, 2005 by
Anthony from Raleigh, NC
“great location, great staff, nice free breakfast, the cleanliness of the room was below average, Live roaches under the pillow, we then ask to move into another room which they did do. Once again the staff was very helpful.” Mar 9, 2005 by
Stephen R. from Tucker, GA
“Breakfast buffet from 6 - 9 on a weekend pretty much assures that vacationers like us are not likely to use it - times are too early.” Mar 8, 2005 by
Jeff from Matthews, NC
“A good value for the price I paid.” Mar 7, 2005 by
Shay from Greensboro, NC
“I would not recommend this hotel to guests. It wasn't near where we were going, the lights in the room didn't work and those that did flickered. Something was wrong with the water that left a moldy smell, and some of the guests were questionable. It was fine for a place to spend under ten hours in, otherwise I wouldn't return.” Mar 7, 2005 by
Mike from Hickory, NC
“For a two star rating, this is probably as good as I could expect. It was an older motel, but was clean and the staff was very friendly. I got more than I paid for.” Feb 17, 2005 by
Catherine from Dallas, NC
“the hotel was great and has the best bed pillows I have ever used anywhere.” Feb 14, 2005 by
Dave from Albuquerque, NM
“Would have been a very pleasant stay except for the traffic noise.” Dec 15, 2004 by
L F. from Greer “The Best Western is what we expected. The staff was wonderful, and very helpful for tourists. The outside of the building does not reflect the inside of the rooms. The rooms are very spacious and very nice inside. I would recommend this to anyone looking for somewhere cheap to stay in asheville.” Dec 8, 2004 by
Charles L. from Loganville “When we turned off the street on to the property I thought we had been hook winked. The outside of the hotel is a reminder of old hotels 2 story with little to no sparkle. When we entered the room I was shocked. The carpet was brand new, the furniture was new, and even the tub and the tub surround was new. Old tile floor in the tub area. The sheets on the bed were color sheets which seemed to shock us. We were very pleased with the room. The breakfast was a bit slim, only offering bagels, bread and cereal, juice, milk and coffee....... a few extras of donuts, muffins and fruit for those that don't take to cereal. Over all a great location and we would stay there again.” Dec 6, 2004 by
Billy M. from High Point “Great Hotel, Great Price, Great Service.” Dec 1, 2004 by
Lewis S. from Cumming “For the price, it was an acceptable stay. The breakfast was very basic. The hotel is close to the mall. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a quick place to stay with no frills and a low cost, this is the place. If your spending a weekend and want a decent continental breakfast and modernized rooms, pay for a better hotel.” Dec 1, 2004 by
Susan O. from Atlanta “Hotel was in general area we wanted. However, it is an older (60/70's style) motel. Apparently they also allow pets, which would have been fine, but the desk in our had been seriously chewed. The continental breakfast in the lobby was very crowded with not enough tables/chairs for the number of guests. Staff was pleasant and accommodating.” Sep 29, 2004 by
Carrie E. from Scottsville, VA “The hotel was very clean, the staff was nice, and the location was great. The continental breakfast could have been a wider variety of food. The location was great just off of the interstate.” Sep 22, 2004 by
Marcia B. from Columbus “This Best Western Hotel was clean, quiet and friendly, it was so amazing! We were there when the Ivan hurricane rainstorm came through. It closed Asheville, but we felt safe and sound in our solid hotel. Didn't even lose electricity! I'll stay there next time we're in Asheville.” Sep 20, 2004 by
Mark H. from Westphalia, IN “It had a leak over the bathroom. It smelled moldy. It was very noisy.” Sep 16, 2004 by
“The amenities inside were great, but it smelled funny inside. The hotel was easy to find and in a good location by the freeway.” Sep 5, 2004 by
Sanford R. from Charlotte, NC “The staff was excellent. The property was old but the rooms were clean. Breakfast was just average .” Sep 4, 2004 by
Michael T. from Wichita, KS “This hotel is your older mid-level business class hotel which has been rather slow in refurbishing it's rooms or common areas. The staff was friendly and cooperative, but the room had an iron burn in the carpet, a tricky water closet and overall in need of modernizing.” Sep 4, 2004 by
Sherry W. from Crossville, TN “The hotel was fine except it advertised a continental breakfast and all they had was bagels, oranges and cereal, with most of the cereal gone by 9:00 AM.”
