Andrew from Sunny Isles, FL
“After checking in to my room, I left for a meeting. When I got back to get ready for another important engagement, I noticed the bathtub was clogged and filthy. I called maintenance to fix but the housekeeper couldn't clean it right away as I was in a hurry and already running late for my meeting so I had to shower right after unclogging it. The only way the responded to this was by offering me a free breakfast. The bathroom is one of the most important parts to keep ultra clean is the bathroom.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Tracy from Jacksonville, FL
“Great price for the hotel.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Ryan from Cape Coral, FL
“The hotel was very well decorated. It was interesting being connected to an office building, still not sure how we felt about that. As a whole the hotel was a little above our expectations.” Aug 5, 2008 by
Matthew from Ormond Beach, FL
“We were two families traveling together for the weekend and we all loved this hotel. They kept a table for us at Shula's the night we arrived even though it was 20 minutes before closing. The staff was excellent and the rooms were clean and pleasant. It was an easy hotel for us to move around in comfortably with 2 families (total of 5 kids) and the mall is an easy walk across the street for great dining selection. We enjoyed our stay and will be back!” Jul 29, 2008 by
Keli from Maitland, FL
“The Intercontinental Tampa is gorgeous! Right on par with the Hyatt Sarasota, but they don't nickel and dime you to death with internet service fees and other ridiculous charges. It was very comfortable and Shula's Restaurant is great; I wish I could have spent more time there!” Jul 26, 2008 by
Dorothy from Raeford, NC
“This hotel is one of the most beautiful that I have ever visited. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The whole bldg was spotless and in my opinion gets a 10 for cleanliness. I would stay at this hotel again if the opportunity ever came up. I was disappointed in my Bay View, however and regret paying an extra $ for it. I will not make that mistake again.” Jul 24, 2008 by
Fran from Fort Myers, FL
“Clean facility, friendly staff, very accommodating. Conveniently located near airport, interstate, and shopping. Stayed at hotel prior to renovation, then again this recent time. Did a fabulous job during the renovation.” Jul 10, 2008 by
Justin from Temple, TX
“Very nice rooms, very friendly staff and convenient to Zoo, RJ Stadium and other Tampa attractions. Highly recommended.” Jun 29, 2008 by
Dan from Sarasota, FL
“Would not stay again unless the AC was upgraded in the rooms. Other than that great hotel.” Jun 29, 2008 by
Lois from Wichita, KS
“I had no hot water 1st night but finally in the 3rd room they put me in, there was. Staff was very accommodating. Pool was undergoing maintenance so couldn't use; had to be shuttled to another hotel nearby for pool usage. Restaurant very pricey so ate out all the time. Other than that, the hotel is nice. The bed was wonderful. Everyone was very helpful and friendly.” Jun 28, 2008 by
Serena from Eusts, FL
“I was very happy with this hotel. It was very elegant and will continue to use this hotel.” Jun 28, 2008 by
Rick from Jamestown, NC
“Decent hotel - have stayed there before and both times were without incident. Nice steak house in the hotel. Very convenient to the Interstate. Good restaurants nearby.” Jun 16, 2008 by
Eddy from Miami, FL
“The hotel service and ambiance were great, really a great hotel. However the glass elevators have the weights embedded into the wall across from them. My room was next to that wall and I heard the darn thing going up and down all night.” Jun 5, 2008 by
Angie from Chicago, IL
“The front desk staff was very polite and professional. The rooms are very modern and comfortable. The hotel is across the street from a large mall and plenty of dining options. Close to the airport but, not the family attractions. Great for business travelers or families catching an early flight out of Tampa airport.” May 27, 2008 by
Kathy from Kalamazoo, MI
“Great experience, loved it all.” May 20, 2008 by
Dave from Miami, OK
“Enjoyed nearby mall and eating establishments.” May 15, 2008 by
Tracey from Orlando, FL
“From the time you enter this hotel you get a feeling of serenity. There is a wonderful smell piped into the lobby. The room is bright and clean. The mini-bar offered top shelf selections. The hotel provided a wonderful selection of toiletries. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.” May 13, 2008 by
Steve from Fort Myers, FL
“Well appointed hotel with a great location. Just a short drive to downtown. Lots of eating and shopping opportunities just across the street.” May 10, 2008 by
Stephanie from Woodlandhiils, CA
“Great business hotel-nice lounge area excellent restaurant.” May 9, 2008 by
Jeanne from Boca Raton, FL
“This hotel met and exceeded my expectations for the area. The lobby area was bright, the staff friendly and accommodating, and the room was spacious and well appointed. My only negative comment is that the bed was way too high for a short person!” May 8, 2008 by
Annette from Sanger, CA
“Everything was fabulous except the pool experience. I was expecting it to be more of a social area. It definitely needs a bar.” May 7, 2008 by
Ellen from Canton, OH
“This hotel has everything to offer a traveler. We ate at Shula's steakhouse inside the hotel and had a superb meal. The amenities were excellent, including the bedding. I would highly recommend it.” May 6, 2008 by
Rob from Santa Ana, CA
“Convenient access to airport. Newly renovated rooms. Good parking. Helpful staff. I would like to stay here again when I go to Tampa.” May 5, 2008 by
Vicky from Phoenix, AZ
“When checking in they had me down for a room with a baby bed? I was on business travel, alone and the staff member changed my room to a king bed. I really appreciated her helping me out and enjoyed my hotel stay.” May 2, 2008 by
Debi from Cumberland, RI
“We feel this hotel is certainly a 5 'star' for the way it decorated, and the friendliness of the staff. The area is perfect, as you are close to the airport yet you can jump on the highway in a second to sightsee, or visit beaches, or just a two minute walk to the finest shopping anywhere. Restaurants right next door serving fresh fish to Chinese to Italian. The perfect location.” May 2, 2008 by
Stephen from Concord, NH
“Overall very pleased with our stay. Beds were very comfortable.” May 1, 2008 by
Marissa from Gainesville, FL
“The bathroom was nice, the lobby well decorated, parking was easy and free, and there was free wireless. We ultimately did not enjoy our stay very much. We were on the second floor and could hear every single person who walked past the hotel room. Not only could we hear everyone walk by throughout the day, but were awoken throughout the night by people coming back to their rooms after a night out. We should not have to listen to everyone's conversations walking by. Although it was a Sunday morning, and we were checking out that day, housekeeping felt the need to come around 9 am. They then preceded to come two more times before we finally checked out before noon. If you do choose to stay here, do not assume you will be able to sleep in past 9 without being bothered, make sure to hang your do not disturb sign. The hotel pool is extremely small and we were unable to find a single seat available to swim. We decided we would leave our clothes on the side and go swimming to find that the towels had not been replenished, and thus swimming did not happen. We actually found the bed to be extremely uncomfortable. While it was big and decorated well, the pillows and bed were not our taste. Others might love it though. We enjoyed being able to walk over to West shore and it was convenient to the highways, but we definitely could not believe the hotel was a 4 star hotel.” Apr 30, 2008 by
Stacy from Braintree, MA
“This is a beautiful hotel! There are a few great chain restaurants across the street in a very large mall so we were not bound to the hotel restaurant which was rather expensive (Shula's Steakhouse). I would definitely stay in this hotel again.” Apr 30, 2008 by
Sydney from San Diego, CA
“Great decor, excellent service. Shula steak house in lobby was an excellent dining experience. Hotel staff friendly and helpful.” Apr 28, 2008 by
Judy from Tallahassee, FL
“My husband and I arrived on April 18 and gave car to valet to park, checked in. We went downstairs to leave for dinner and when car was brought the glove box, latch was completely broken off. When I asked what happened no one knew anything. I asked at front desk to speak to the manager and he said the valet is a third party and there's nothing he could do but call their company to have an incident report done. Then their company would file with their insurance but I would have to pay the deductible. Basically I felt he was discouraging me from reporting the incident. Why would the valet have any need to open anything in my car unless he was looking for something to steal? Why is there no sign out front disclaiming the hotel from any responsibility? Also, on the night of arrival I asked if something could be done about the air conditioning because the room was hot. Maintenance came up and said nothing could be done, that's just the way the system is. The front desk didn't help in any way and I spend 2 sleepless night in a supposedly 4 star hotel. Decor does not make a hotel 4 star.” Apr 25, 2008 by
Dana from Colorado Springs, CO
“Great place to stay. Everything about this hotel says, "class". From the decor and extras in the rooms to the amenities that the hotel offers. There's a flat screen TV, big fluffy robe, big fluffy towels, and a very inviting king size bed in the rooms. The fitness center is top notch and the pool is very cool perched up on the 9th floor overlooking the city and ocean.” Apr 25, 2008 by
Vike from Summit, NJ
“I liked it.” Apr 24, 2008 by
Mark from Queensbury, NY
“Other than the noisy room it was very nice. But not being bale to sleep ruins the whole thing.” Apr 23, 2008 by
R.W from Marfa, TX
“The hotel and rooms staff etc were great but the ice machines were so loud they kept you up at night including the air conditioning system it sounded like a helicopter was above you all night so I wouldn't recommend an 11th floor room or one near an ice machine. There should be No Smoking by the pool entrance very distasteful when your swimming and trying to be healthy.” Apr 21, 2008 by
Pam from Henagar, AL
“This hotel was perfect. Very clean, amenities were fantastic. Mall and restaurants are located directly across the street from the hotel.” Apr 20, 2008 by
Jon from San Diego, CA
“I would stay here again, but the staff was somewhat untrained in relation to the level of this hotels rating. Uninterested bar staff, merely going through motions. Shula's Steakhouse on site was an added plus.” Apr 20, 2008 by
Carol from Fort Myers, FL
“I will look forward to another stay at an intercontinental hotel in the future. We usually stay at Renaissance hotels by Marriott.” Apr 18, 2008 by
Ethel from Rockledge, FL
“Excellent!” Apr 17, 2008 by
Michael from Lake Alfred, FL
“The accommodations were amazing. Room service went above & beyond & the food was fantastic. We melted into the bad & the modern decor made us feel very comfortable.” Apr 16, 2008 by
Barbara from Odessa, FL
“Really enjoyed our stay, we were there celebrating an anniversary and decided at the last minute to get away. Great place, fun time.” Apr 16, 2008 by
Ana from San Antonio, TX
“My husband and daughter went on the trip to a college she was considering in Sarasota. We had two double beds in the eleventh floor. The room was quite elegant with new appliances. Unfortunately, could not use the refrigerator to keep water bottles cold because just moving any container would electronically bill the room. They did tell us that ahead of time. There was a mall within walking distance as well as a restaurant called Michael's that the concierge recommended. Overall we would stay there if we ever go back..” Apr 15, 2008 by
Debra from Orlando, FL
“Check in staff was very professional and informative. Very safe hotel. Very clean. Turn down service with Chocolates and note in an envelope. Included shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, etc. Extremely impressed with courtesy of staff. Left a pair of slacks in the closet and called Lost and Found. Received a telephone call from Housekeeping that they were found and mailing to me via FedEx. Could not ask for better service.” Apr 9, 2008 by
Amber from Sebastian, FL
“This hotel was amazing from the beginning. After checking in, two hours early, my husband and I relaxed in the lush bed listening to the great sound machine/radio. Upon coming back to the room, after dinner, we noticed ice in the ice bucket, chocolates on the pillows, a robe and house slippers, and the music playing was a nice jazz. Will stay here, when in town, from now on!” Apr 4, 2008 by
Thomas from Monroe, MI
“Beautiful and convenient to Downtown shopping.” Apr 2, 2008 by
Johnny from Buffalo, NY
“Staff, food and room were fantastic.” Apr 1, 2008 by
Jacki from Orlando, FL
“I would recommend the hotel. The pool is really nice and most of the staff was very helpful.” Mar 21, 2008 by
Jane from Burke, VA
“The hotel is beautiful, reminds me of my Mombassa back in Kenya. My children loved it. It was clean, beautiful and grandiose!” Mar 20, 2008 by
Brian from Birmingham, MI
“Overall this hotel is very nice. Not many dining options if you are not looking for a high end steakhouse. Rooms were very clean. The A/C was not as cold as I would have liked, but it was fine for most people. Location is great as it is only 10 minutes from the airport. Great Experience!” Mar 13, 2008 by
Chris from West Lafayette, IN
“We had a very nice pre-cruise stay at this hotel. The complimentary shuttle picked us up fairly quickly (about 15 minutes) from the airport. We were allowed to check in early at 11:15 AM, which was a godsend since we were up at 3 AM to catch our flights. The West shore Mall was right next door, as well as a drug store, liquor store, and fast food. There is a nice steakhouse in the hotel, but it is a bit pricey. The room was very nice, as were the shower supplies. An HD TV was in the room along with some HD content, so that was nice. The beds were very high, but comfortable. There was also free wireless internet, which is unfortunately a rarity for four star hotels. There were a few negatives. The A/C was extremely loud, but we were so tired that it didn't bother us too much. The rooftop pool was very small and not a great feature, especially given that it was chilly the day we visited. Finally, the prices on services are outrageous, with a $6 bottle of water offered at several places in the room. That water could be had from the nearby drugstore for $2, and there are free, non-branded bottles of water available in the exercise room.” Mar 5, 2008 by
James from Bridgeport, CT
“Deluxe property close to the airport and two malls. Nicely decorated rooms and public areas, high quality bedding and linens. Rooftop pool, well-equipped gym and the Illy coffee-bar add to the attractiveness.” Hotel Representatives:
