• The lady who ran the continental breakfast.
• Needed an extra blanket and there was none in the room, and the ice machine ran out.

“We were visiting friends who lived less than 2 miles from the hotel. The bed was comfortable and the sheets and bathroom were clean. This was our second stay at this hotel. It was not a resort, but it served our needs for this trip.”

• They gave us a great location overlooking the pool.
• If we would have been facing the street it would have been bad.

“Good room placement, facing the pool. It was convenient to Downtown which is why we were there for the Sarasota Marathon. It would not be good if you were going to the beach.”

• They gave us toothpaste because we forgot to pack ours.
• Air conditioning was noisy.

“For a basic place to sleep, this hotel is fine. The "continental breakfast" was less than continental, consisting of toastable "French toast", dry cereals, and coffee. The orange juice was pretty good!”

• For an older hotel, it was spotlessly clean. Staff was friendly. Pool nice.
• Breakfast room was always out of coffee, had to wait for coffee to be made.

• It was large and clean, with most of the features you expect from a hotel like this.
• The door did not fit the jam and left a lot of air space for cold air to come through.

“Overall I was happy with the hotel. It was in a great location for making general purchase or getting around town. The staff was great, the room clean and attractive. I was not thrilled with the door. It does not fit the door jam and let a lot of cold air through. Thankfully the heater worked well! (yes it was cold when I stayed there) For a couple nights stay alone it was fine. I wouldn't recommend it for family.”

“After trying to get a higher star rated hotel we settled for a two and took our chances. We were attending a wedding and wanted a hotel in the zone described by you. This hotel must have been barely in to the area that we wanted. We were disappointed after passing so many nice places and then given this out of the way and not a nice area choice.”

• The pool. The king-size bed. The room refrigerator.
• The selection at the breakfast suite.

“The Best Western Midtown is in a great location. It is right across the street from a shopping plaza where there is a Starbucks Coffee, supermarket and a Benigan's restaurant. The pool and sun deck are a nice plus. It was easy to travel by car to the many attractions in the area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay there again.”

• Disgusting rooms, lobby, and pool area.

“This hotel is located on the main business thoroughfare through Sarasota, close to downtown and within walking distance of many restaurants. It is in the process of renovation, but there's only so much one can do with a place like this. Better to tear it down and build new.”

“I am interested if you actually read this. If so I would like a personal phone call, and will hold off using your site and mention to others (I do a very lot of traveling and know a very lot of people in the thousands) my bad experience until you call me. That will speak volumes about your customer service !Again, I think every company deserves a break about bad experiences, and I sincerely don't think you want them to happen either.#1 I paid 85.00 for the room.#2 The room could be had by anybody off the street for 69.00 (I have a receipt to prove it)#3 There were gangster like people sitting outside the parking lot.#4 The rating you gave it was not appropriate#5 The first room they gave me a key to was filthy and beds were not made and full cigarette ashtrays were strewn about#6 I have had good results from using you in the past. Except one time I did need to change it was a pain in the neck. (took ages and countless no. of times to talk to somebody in this instance a hurricane made it impossible to stay or even get to the hotel) Thought it would be right to "give you a by" on that experience. This is the third time. (the 2nd time the hotel a 3 star, had the electrical system start a fire in my hotel room) I never complained as I just wanted to forget about it). I'm certain your company has all the right intentions, so I want to be forthright with you. This time really made me mad. The advertising is that I can receive good rates. Here I paid more. The hotel was clearly not rated correct. ”

• Terribly uncomfortable pillows!

“This hotel was conveniently located to the places we wanted to visit in Sarasota. The rooms were nice, but the beds had horrible pillows! Pool and grounds were pleasant. The attendees in the 'Breakfast Suite' were very friendly and we enjoyed talking with them - however, the female front desk clerk was not friendly at all. All in all, it was a nice stay.”

• Most everything else other than availability.

“Located in a very congested location in the middle of the downtown area. Bathroom ceiling falling apart and moldy. Bathroom door jam covered with something that resembled vomit. Late afternoon vehicle chase and ensuing fight in the residential street adjacent to the rear of the hotel property between several teens with bats and at least one gun visible. Seems to be a popular hotel for migrant foreign workers. At 9:00pm security kicks everyone out of the pool to eliminate a possible late night noise factor. However, the nightly card game among the migrant foreign workers at the tables between the rooms and the pool seemed to be fine until 11:00pm or later. ”

• The breakfast food and area was pleasant, the maids responded promptly to the room needing to be cleaned.
• The room was suppose to be ready but was not clean and the facilities need to be updated and freshened.

“The physical appearance of the rooms need to be updated and modernized, especially the bathroom and shower/tub area and carpet. It was nice to have a frig. and microwave in the room. Location was good and the staff responded quickly to our needs.”

• Free internet, fridge, microwave, free breakfast, friendly staff, what more could you ask for.
• Nothing! I liked it quite well.

“This hotel was older yet well equipped. There was a fridge and microwave in the room, making it great if we wanted to warm up leftovers, or even have a meal in the room. The free continental breakfast was a big plus. Having free wi-fi internet was even better. Roger, in the breakfast suite, was like visiting with an old friend. I enjoyed my stay there and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.”

• Central location.
• Toilet was dirty, room smelled, I was awoken by the security guards phone outside my room door at 3am in the morning.

• Room not particular clean, very parsimonious. Soap and toilet tissue.

“For midtown location, fine. We preferred to be closer to East Sarasota, but couldn't acquire that this time. Otherwise, it was satisfactory, considering. Or so they were charging the general public.”

• Good breakfast and nice staff.
• This place was a dump. Outside it was shabby, not painted for years. Inside, stuffing coming out of a chair. Tile off in the bathroom.

“If we had not already paid for the room, we would never stop here. Best Western is suppose to have reasonable standards of cleanliness but it is clear that this motel has not been checked recently by Corporate.”

• I was scared to touch anything. Floors were greasy. Shower drain dirty.

“Would not recomend this hotel. The bathroom floors were greasy to the touch. The shower drain was clogged and dirty. The room made me feel "dirty". Breakfast was okay. Would have liked some fresh fruit.”

• The hotel is centrally located. Shops are nearby as well as a great Marina/Park for kids and dining. Starbucks next door.
• Hotel looks run down and dirty, not for a long stay.

“This hotel is centrally located with shops, a marina/park that has good food and a park for the kids to play. Have the kids play in the fountains at the Marina; they'll love it! The hotel is run down though and the appearance is bad. I wouldn't stay long at this hotel. It's just a place to sleep. We stayed one night. Breakfast was bad so thank God there was a Starbucks next door.”

• The room was clean, lots of towels, and a refrigerator
• It was much farther away from my target area than I had expected

“The hotel is not very well maintained on the outside (It looks like it was built 50 years ago and not really maintained), but the rooms are clean with lots of towels. The blanket on the bed looked pretty old and should have been newer. I got a good value for the price however.”

• The rooms were very clean and up to date.
• The pool's heater was inoperable and the pool was down for 2 days. The motel's exterior s/b updated.

“Good and very clean. The exterior is misleading.
A little more variety needed in the breakfast buffet.”
