“Great location that was centrally located in downtown Asheville. The staff are super friendly and always helpful. We enjoyed our quick stay.” Nov 23, 2009 by
Jack from Lawrenceville,GA
“Great downtown Asheville location. I love to walk in Asheville and it was nice not to have to drive. There were several events at the hotel during my stay so parking was at a premium. Hotel guests should be guaranteed a parking space. I refused to pay for internet access at $10 per day.” Oct 15, 2009 by
Gregg from Hinsdale,IL
“Overall this is a very nice hotel, rooms are comfortable, although a bit cramped.” Oct 11, 2009 by
David from Arlinton,VA
“I travel frequently and I was impressed with this hotel. A feature I have not seen elsewhere was that at the front desk they had printed instructions as to how to get to the main local attractions in Asheville (Baltimore, etc.) This was very helpful for an out-of-towner.” Sep 18, 2009 by
Karen from Asheboro,NC
“Hotel was fine. No issues except for the noise due to the air conditioner.” Sep 9, 2009 by

“It was the first time in the area, so we didn't know the roads, etc. The hotel was easy to get to after getting off the superhighway. The staff was very helpful and very friendly. Rooms were CLEAN! and well appointed. Mattresses were very comfortable to sleep on. And, I didn't even use my travel pillow...I used their pillow!” Aug 26, 2009 by
Nick from Charlotte,NC
“Everything was as good as expected from a 31/2 star hotel and has been consistently that way evry time we stayed there. First rate.” Aug 22, 2009 by
Debra from Rocky River,OH
“Nice, clean hotel with modern furnishings and look. Room looked upscale (granite look bath counter, nice color on walls, dark wood) even though small. Did have a hairdryer hanging in the closet (one reviewer noted no hairdryer). Very few amenities in bathroom (no shower cap) but did have Aveda. Nice coffee/tea tray. Was disappointed that WiFi was so expensive and the county free WiFi didn't extend to hotel zone. Walked to downtown restaurants, so great location.” Aug 20, 2009 by
Scott from Memphis,TN
“Very good experience.” Aug 14, 2009 by

“This hotel was what one would expect from this chain. It was clean, staff were friendly and helpful. They were cleaning constantly and seemed to enjoy working. We were always greated with a hello and a smile. A bowl of fresh apples were provided at the front desk, nice touch.” Jul 21, 2009 by
Karen from Ambler,PA
“The Renaissance Asheville was conveniently located and the staff was very accommodating. The outdoor patio was a great place to relax and do work on my computer (it even had outlets). The room was a bit smaller than I expected, but very comfortable. It also had Starbucks coffee to brew!” Jul 13, 2009 by
Jill from Cary,NC

“Very nice, safe, and clean.” Jan 23, 2009 by

“The service was horrible. The management was rude and I have never been treated like this before. There are much better hotels in the area that offer better service and who are more courteous.” Jan 8, 2009 by
Erin from Charleston,RI
“Great for a brief stay. Very close to downtown. Comfortable.” Dec 23, 2008 by
Angela from Blountville,TN
“This hotel is in an excellant location if you want to walk to downtown Asheville events. However our room was beside the elevator and it keep us awake all night. When I mentioned this to the front desk at checkout they were very nonchalant. Said next time request a room that was not beside elevator.” Dec 21, 2008 by
Mark from Temecula,CA
“Overall , a very pleasant stay, close to shopping and dining, very hospitable staff.” Nov 30, 2008 by
Tracey from Knoxville,TN
“This is a great location to spend an evening in Asheville and the hotel is very luxurious (e.g., the bedding, amenities, etc.). I loved that the complimentary coffee was Starbucks in the rooms and there were plenty of creamers (vs. packages of stale powdered creamer). It may seem like a small thing but it makes a big difference!” Nov 30, 2008 by
Alicia from Tucker,GA
“Great time - Kids loved the pool. Beds were super comfy and the location is great. You can walk to town and restaurants. I will stay here again.” Nov 5, 2008 by

“This hotel was very nice. The rooms were very nice and the staff was very friendly. The only things that I did not like were the fact that if you wanted to use the internet in the hotel, it cost $9.95 per day. Also, the bathrooms were very small. Also, the front parking lot was very small, so you had to use the back parking lot which to me was not good because the area did not have a lot of light.” Nov 5, 2008 by

“Hope to stay at the Renaissance again when we go back to Asheville.” Oct 31, 2008 by

“This hotel is close to a lot of restaurants downtown and is also convenient to the interstate. The room was large and comfortable. The fitness center was also pretty big for a hotel and I enjoyed using it. My only complaint was that there was one woman at the front desk who was somewhat insulting when I asked about dinner options for the first night. I am a single woman traveling alone and sometimes have difficulty with this so I wasn't surprised, but I had seen another staff member help out an older couple with a similar question and she didn't have the same attitude. Other than that the staff was friendly and helpful.” Oct 30, 2008 by

“We had a great time and would stay there again it the future if the price was right but not for their regular prices.” Oct 30, 2008 by

“Nice hotel, loved the pool/exercise facility.” Oct 28, 2008 by

“After the toilet flooded the bathroom, the staff were quick to respond. Someone was in the room within minutes. When I went down for breakfast and the staff realized why, they comped my breakfast. I was then given another room.” Oct 21, 2008 by

“Very nice, convenient hotel with small rooms.” Oct 21, 2008 by

“The hotel was ok, but there was loud music coming from the street till 2:00 in the morning keeping us awake. And, also, the air coditioning wasn't working properly, making a lot of noises. We were going to stay there for two nights and stayed only for one because of these.” Oct 20, 2008 by

“The hotel was easy to find, near freeways and restaurants. It was exceptionally clean and had amenities we liked, i.e., heated pool, guest laundry, concierge to purchase tickets. The staff was so very helpful and always polite. The food in the Orchard Restaurant was okay. Dinner (sandwiches) took a long time after ordering; prices seemed on the high side for dinners. The business center offered secured computer access, but at $5.95 for 15 minutes. There was a computer available to print boarding passes. Internet access was $9.95 for 24 hrs, comparable to other hotels. Movies varied, but averaged around $10.95 for in room. HD TV's were very nice. Parking was difficult in that there were a number of conferences being held at the hotel and spaces were at a premium. Rooms are air-conditioned as there are no windows that open - a draw back if you like fresh air to sleep. All in all though, the hotel was very nice. Recommended!” Oct 9, 2008 by

“The Rennaisance in Asheville is the place to stay. It is convenient to all the downtown locations, comfortable, upscale but not pretentious.” Oct 8, 2008 by

“First, the location is a short walk to downtown Asheville. This was perfect for us. Room had a great view. We could see the mountains and some of the great buildings in town. This hotel boasts a very comfortable room, with a HD television and laptop station. We were impressed with the down comforters and pillows. The bathroom was very nicely decorated as was the overall hotel. The restaurant was great for breakfast, with real bacon and an omelet station, but a little overpriced. Staff was friendly and helpful. Their "Delighted to Serve" line is useful, but they could make better restaurant recommendations. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Asheville.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 2, 2008 by

“Overall, I think this was an average hotel for the price. It is conveniently located within walking distance to downtown Asheville and many restaurants. The hotel is one of the tallest buildings in the area (12 stories, I believe), so if you are on one of the top floors you're certain to have a great view. The hotel room itself was clean and what I was expecting for the price. However, the bathroom in our room was extremely small for a hotel bathroom. It also seemed as if the rooms have were remodeled at one point, but the bathrooms were not. The bathroom did not seem like it fit in with the rest of the room. Overall, I would stay here again if I were in the Asheville area and would recommend it to friends/family. After all, there is enough in Asheville to see so you shouldn't be spending that much time in your hotel room anyway, right?” Sep 10, 2008 by
Raymond from Cary, NC
“The Asheville Renaissance hotel is conveniently located nearby central downtown of Asheville, within walk distance to most points of interest. The hotel is clean, staff is friendly, and appears recently renovated. The rooms are well appointed, but somewhat smaller than the average hotel room for this class hotel. I would stay there again, however, for an extended stay I would look for something more roomy.” Sep 9, 2008 by
Darrell from Adairsville, GA
“When I complained about the rattle in the air conditioner they just said "I'm sorry I will look into it." I felt they owed us a monetary compensation, we were unrested.” Sep 8, 2008 by
Christi from Lexington, KY
“We had a wonderful stay, it was so relaxing and comfortable. It made our 10th anniversary great to be able to stay in such a nice place. We would definitely do it again. The beds were incredible- almost better than my own bed at home!” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Sep 4, 2008 by

“Great! The room was very nice and large with flat screen TV and comfortable beds, nice linens. The location can not be beat! Within walking distance of all the downtown local flavor - restaurants shopping bars etc. Would definitely stay again here.” Aug 20, 2008 by
Kelly from Soddy Daisy, TN
“This hotel far exceeded our expectations. Downtown Asheville is wonderful, once you get there. Don't trust written directions to get around Asheville, though. We had a terrible time getting in and out of the city. Take a good map, but don't count on very clear road signs.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Paul from Charlotte, NC
“Nice hotel, conveniently located to downtown. Parking was free and we did not need to move the car until we were ready to leave.” Aug 18, 2008 by
Kelly from Gaithersburg, MD
“Hotel desperately needs to be updated. Furniture was worn and thread bare. You would think that they would use table cloths in the dining room to cover up the tables, which were worn past the finish. Room was small, dirty, and dingy. Lots of noise. Noise from local bar continued until 12:30 AM. The room mini bar was noisy as was the air conditioner. Construction surrounds the hotel on all sides. Upon arrival the lobby felt like partying with all the noise coming from the lobby bar and I could barely communicate with the desk clerk to check in. It required two phone calls and a personal visit to the front desk to have our room cleaned, which was finally completed at 9:00 PM. There was no one to help with luggage.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Sheila from Ladys Island, SC
“I was pleased with the hotel overall. We went to a concert one evening and would have liked a late night dessert and coffee. Hotels restaurant closed earlier and small bar did not have anything to offer.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Jan from Huntersville, NC
“Overall I was pleased.” Jul 27, 2008 by

“This hotel is perfectly located in Downtown Asheville and the refurbishment is excellent. The decor, cleanliness and helpful staff gave us a great visit. I wish we had stayed more than one night. The Starbucks in-room coffee was a nice touch.”
