• Good location off I-40.
• Dirty, smelly, moldy, none working excerise equipment and the staff had zero concern about it.

“Worst stay ever. Our room was very damp and moldy, smelled bad. Only 1 out of 4 pieces of equipment was in working order in the excerise room. Staff was less than helpful. I would not stay at this hotel. After a writen complaint at the front desk zero response.”

• Great location off Highway and clean rooms and quiet after 10pm.
• Many children running around and staff seemed young and inexperienced.

“I would recommend this hotel for family with nice pool and hot tub. The breakfast price is reasonable and food looked fine. Many children in pool and hot tub made it hard for my wife and I to enjoy a quiet swim, but the pool closes at 10pm so the evening is quiet.”

• Beautiful open lobby.
• Carpeting was stained in hallways.

“For a one night stay, the hotel was in an excellent location for our needs. Under the surface it was starting to get a little shabby, but our room was clean. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant was very good. If we were staying for more than one night, probably find somewhere else.”

• Noisy first night with lots of baseball and motorcycle clubs.

• Dining area was understaffed.

“Stayed at hotel as an overnight on way to final destination. Front desk clerk was friendly enough even at 12:30 am. Room was clean. Water pressure and temp in shower was excellent. Only drawback was at buffet breakfast. Items ran out and were slow to be replaced. While there were easily 30+ people eating, there were only two employees to take care of guests. Quality of food and temp were average. Hot items were just a little to cool for me. OJ was hard to come by as four decanters stayed empty for at least 15 minutes.”

• The lobby is gorgeous! The staff was courteous and the rooms were clean. Great pool!
• The hot tub was not hot!

“This hotel is obviously newly refurbished. The lobby gives a great first impression and sets the scene with a beautiful towering fireplace and an indoor/outdoor pool right there. The rooms were clean. The staff was courteous and quick to respond to special requests. It was just after 10 pm (closing) when we went down to the restaurant in the lobby, but the server called the kitchen and asked that they stay open for one more table, which they did without any complaint. We were made to feel like we were doing them a favor. It was Karaoke night at the bar, which was just what you'd expect. The bartender was on target with the two drinks we ordered. My only complaint about the entire experience was that the hot tub was Luke warm. I completely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the west Asheville area.”

• The pool is practically in the lobby.

“Great hotel. The indoor/outdoor pool is in the backside of the lobby and you can see down into the area from all of the rooms. Room service is reasonably priced and does not include hidden delivery fees, etc. Nice friendly staff, clean rooms, good internet connection. I would recommend this hotel for business or pleasure.”

• Very clean and nice indoor/outdoor pools.
• Hot tub not functioning properly. Hotel was a bit far from Downtown.

• Very comfortable and clean accommodations!
• No wireless internet connection in the rooms - had to go to the lobby.

“We were very pleased with this hotel! We have 3 young kids, and the stay was pleasant - lots of space in the room, comfortable beds, friendly staff, and most important (to me), very clean and in a safe location! I was very pleasantly surprised. I would highly recommend to anyone!”

• Frontdesk lady was offensive and persistently defensive of safety issue at facility.

“Clean hotel, quiet, not located nice for recreational strolls. Pool is small and appears to be used by non-guest locals with alcohol and smoking friends, a distraction. Frontdesk lady was not customer oriented, just the opposite.”

• Warm, friendly, clean, roomy bathroom.
• The air conditioner was very loud. When it would cut on it would always wake me.

“As I stated, very clean, comfortable beds, friendly. Bathrooms were very nice, pool was nice. The air conditioner was the only complaint I had. But, it's a big complaint because I am a light sleeper and I have a hard time getting back to sleep. The air cuts on and off, which I guess saves energy but, was very loud and would wake me up every time it cut on.”

“2.5 stars is fair for this hotel. Food was mediocre for dinner, but breakfast buffet was more than adequate, room was clean and decent, pool was overly warm but nice even though no privacy at all from people dining, looking out windows and walking to elevator. Parking was inadequate while a conference was occurring. Staff was appropriately friendly. Lounge was small and loud, but we very much appreciated friendliness of staff and the no smoking policy was fantastic! Staff was complimentary in all cases of the management and a good training program for staff is apparent. Room wasn't ready at 3 p.m. and the second day, the room wasn't made up yet at 3 p.m. and towels didn't arrive until 5 p.m.”

• Completely remodeled, clean, cheery decor, friendly staff, good lounge and breakfast bar.
• Half the rooms are inside lobby area also with pool and lounge- at night you hear people from your room.

• The floor by the pool was wet and you have to walk past it to get to the front desk. It was quite a hazard.

“I was double charged and it has not been corrected yet. The room looked great, but it smelled something awful. They could use an odor eliminator of some kind. The servers would purposefully avoid looking at us in the lounge, even though it was slow. Took forever to get refills. There are other things to do in Asheville by us, but we will definitely never stay in a holiday inn again.”

• The room was kept spotless and the hotel staff was terrific. No noise, nice.
• Just the construction that was going on, but I realize it must be done.

“I loved this motel! It was quiet; the people were so friendly (which seems to be true of all country people, since I am one myself!) All the way from the upper echelon down to housekeeping staff. It was close to where we needed to go, which, unfortunately, was a funeral, but had it not been for that, WQE both have nothing but cheers for this motel.”

• Temporarily, hotel is in major refurbishment; kind of weird.

“Hotel being refurbished. Our own room had probably the best view, north, unobstructed. Location good mainly if you want to hop off and on the freeway. It is away from town center. Cooked breakfast excellent.”

• This hotel is currently undergoing extensive renovations, which we were not aware of ahead of time.

“This hotel is pretty standard fare for a Ramada. The room was clean, but overall nothing special. The facility is definitely showing its age in some places, hopefully the extensive renovations currently in progress will help. We did not go to the restaurant or use the pool.”

“I didn't expect a lot with a Ramada and this hotel slightly exceeded my expectations. Renovation makes for a difficult experience but the staff was good and the room was good as well.”

• Bathroom size.
• It was being renovated. There were kids jumping in the hot tub and though the sign said no children after 10 no one reinforced it.

“This hotel will be nice when it is finished. It would be a 2 star if not for the construction, though breakfast was steep, when you could get it free at another place. They should at least consider being a dollar or two cheaper then the Shoneys or the crackle barrel down the road, maybe we would not have gone to the others the next day.”

• Newly decorated rooms with new beds, fridge and new sheets.
• Under construction. Lobby/atrium filled with equipment and scaffolding. Outdoor pool closed.

“Was one day and will someday be a nice hotel. Rooms have been remodeled and are very nice. Lobby and interior facing rooms are under construction. Indoor pool is next to a restaurant. Sauna is very old and door can not be closed from inside. Changing room/restroom was disgusting. There is not enough parking and rear lot does not seem safe.”

“Hotel was under construction so it was even more dirty but it wasn't extremely clean anywhere. The room was smelly. Musty and smelled like cigarette smoke. It was suppose to be a non smoking room. We were never told the hotel was under renovations and I had a severe headache the whole time we were there.”

• Check out clerk spoke poor English not a pleasant man.

“The check in was crammed full of people as there was a group checking in, but the check in staff was friendly and working quickly. Room itself was nice, wonderful bed, but color scheme (orange drapes) was horrible. Pool looked great inside part; the outside part was dirty and looked like it wasn't being maintained. Check out the gentleman was a little rude and spoke poor English, not a great asset to their staff.”

• The staff was friendly and informative.
• Indoor pool and Jacuzzi was closed for contraction.

“The hotel is under massive contraction. The outside looked ripped off. I chose this hotel because it had an indoor pool and Jacuzzi, but when we got there both were closed. I was disappointed to say the least. Would have been nice to know that in advance.”

• The pool being right in the lobby.

“It was all we needed for a short getaway - nothing more, nothing less. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Checking in and out was very easy.”

• This Ramada had one of the most comfortable bed and pillows I've had in a hotel in some time.
• The hotel lobby and hallways are showing signs of age. However the room I was in appeared to remodeled.
