“Conveniently close to Cedar Point. Friendly staff, clean rooms, good breakfast.” Jun 9, 2008 by
Alan from Plymouth, MI
“The room was tiny, reminded me of a college dorm room. I think dorm rooms are bigger than this hotel room was. When I went to use the shower I found that we were only given 1 towel so we had to use our own. The bathroom window didn't have a lock on it so it could easily be opened from the outside. I pulled the shower curtain closed and found dirty towels hanging on the curtain rod, hidden in the shower curtain pleats. The AC had a degree control connected to it but it wouldn't let you set it any lower than 70 degrees. When it did turn on it was very loud and kept waking us up. The bed didn't have a fitted sheet on it, just a big sheet draped over the mattress so it kept bunching up underneath us.” May 29, 2008 by

“It was not to my liking.” May 23, 2008 by

“Clean and convenient, to cedar point.” Oct 6, 2007 by
Janet from Ellicott City, MD
“We had just stayed at a comfort suite in Columbus, Ohio and paid the same money. The other hotel had an indoor pool, exercise room, fabulous free breakfast; wireless internet access and the room were very spacious. This room did not compare.” Sep 13, 2007 by
Jeremy from Mt Morris, MI
“This is the last time I'll ever think of staying in a Howard Johnson.” Sep 3, 2007 by
Annelie from Aliquippa, PA
“We walked into our room and it was freezing in there. They had an older unit we tried to turn to heat and left for 15 minutes to let it heat up. Came back, nothing changed, found out there is an older unit and a newer thermostat which when we adjusted that worked ok but still didn't work properly on auto. It was an ok place to stay but really not worth the money.” Aug 16, 2007 by
Sue from Brighton, MI
“We did not stay there and were refused a refund. What a disappointment!” Aug 12, 2007 by
Thomas from Powder Springs, GA
“I think this hotel is the perfect pick for the price. Though the bathroom was small, the room and bathroom had everything one needed for a short stay in Sandusky. Likewise, the continental breakfast and USA Today were a great start to the morning each day. Staff was friendly and helpful, even when the older kids were making a lot of noise in the pool late at night.” Jul 26, 2007 by

“My girlfriend and I wanted to get a reasonably priced room for the night so that we could get a good nights rest and wake up to go to Cedar Point. Instead, upon arrival that place looked horrible from the outside, rundown, small, and on a rather busy road, with no places to eat near by. The actual room was even worse. As you walked in immediately the bed was there, the whole room was basically the room. The bathroom had a broken window, which was only partly taped up. The floor was not vacuumed, the coffee maker had been used and not replaced with new supplies, which made my girlfriend wonder what else had not been replaced and cleaned. Then after we came back from dinner near Cedar Point, we attempted to go to bed with no luck. The bed was lumpy, the outside was noisy, and to top it off the room next to us had their TV on all night, which kept us up because of the paper thin walls. I have stayed in Howard Johnson Hotels many times in my life, but there was maybe not only the worst ho-jo ever but maybe the worst Hotel/Motel I had ever visited. There are many other hotels near the park with less then familiar names but I would try one of those instead.” Jul 23, 2007 by

“Nice, small, friendly.” Jul 16, 2007 by

“The room was clean and a good size. The pool was clean.” Jul 15, 2007 by
Mindy from Lapaz, IN
“For the price this hotel was excellent to sleep in for eight hours. Especially if you are going to Cedar Point. It is right at the end of Cedar Point Causeway. So easy to get to!” Jul 4, 2007 by
Frances from Schenetady, NY
“I was very pleased of the price for a 3 double bed room. The room was very clean and the bathroom was large. The staff was more then helpful with all my questions and kept are room well stock with fresh towels and anything else we needed. It's also only about a 10 min drive to cedar point.” Jun 30, 2007 by
Michelle from Plainwell, MI
“The staff was friendly. The room was clean and the common areas were nicely decorated. The continental breakfast should be expanded and should include regular dishes instead of plastic. Overall I would stay at this hotel again. Did not get the opportunity to use the pool area; however it was clean and well kept.” Jun 1, 2007 by
Eugene from Bridgeville, PA
“Turn it in to a parking lot.” May 26, 2007 by
Kelli from Kendallville, IN
“The hotel was close to the area we intended to visit. Lots of eating establishments available around this hotel. Communicating with office personnel was very satisfactory. Room could have been a bit cleaner. There weren't any bugs, which is a huge plus.” Oct 3, 2006 by
Dawn from North Royalton, OH
“Great choice, would go there again!” Aug 28, 2006 by
Steve from Belle Plaine, MN
“Hotel was advertised with a fridge and a heated pool, neither was true. Swimming pool was ice cold, and their ONLY room with a fridge had a broken lock or something. Bathroom floor felt so gross that you didn't want to walk barefoot in it. Doors to room and bathroom fit so tight, that my 12 year old son could barely open them. No remote control for the TV, which may be a big deal to some people. With rooms starting at $45 in Sandusky, I thought going up to a $69. might get me a nicer room, I was wrong. The only thing good about this room was it's location to Cedar Point.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Aug 27, 2006 by

“Hotel was stinky and not as clean as I expected it to be. Bathroom was extremely small. Continental breakfast was only cereal and donuts. The website states that the outdoor pool is heated and it is not. Is very close to shopping and restaurants. Very close to Cedar Point.” Aug 22, 2006 by
Marie from Blasdell, NY
“We were disgusted by the condition of the room. Nothing was cleaned and there were no supplies for the bathroom. The room key did not work most of the time. The cleaning staff was very helpful but we actually cleaned the room ourselves after purchasing supplies.” Aug 7, 2006 by
Suzie from St. Clair, MI
“Good location, close to the ark. Very helpful staff. It is a very old hotel and the pool is GROSS!! They do not have roll always as stated in the add. It is an OK. place to spend 1 night while at Cedar Point.” Aug 2, 2006 by
Bill from Columbiaville, MI
“I felt I was mis-led, because the hotel I stayed in was not the hotel I had picked, but 3 miles down the road (although same chain).” Jul 31, 2006 by
Mark from Erie, PA
“For the value the hotel provided a clean place to stay for the night, but I would prefer to pay a little more for a more modern updated hotel. Hotel was a great location in relation to Cedar Point, but room seem to lack routine maintenance, but room was clean.” Jul 17, 2006 by
Keyser from Kettering, OH
“First of all let me tell you that I am in my 20s traveling with some guys that just wanted to go to cedar point, so this place really made us leave. I tried 3 different rooms and every time the key card wouldn't work. One time they tried an actually real key and it got stuck so they had to call a lock smith. The room was decent as far as being clean, but when I was checking out another couple complained that their TV was not working. The pool is very small and way out in the middle of the parking lot. Now for the best part the tooth-less wonder took us to our rooms, which pretty much sealed the deal for us leaving. She had a total of 3 teeth, nappy hair, and looked like she wore pajama pants to work that day. When she finally used the key to unlock our door I happened to notice the delicious caked on crud under her finger nails, my dad was a mechanic and he had cleaner nails then this lady. The best part was that she constantly smoked and sounded like she had for the last 35 years. When she got our door unlocked she just strolled right into our non-smoking room smoking away, even set down on the bed and used the room phone to call the desk while smoking. I would recommend this place only to people who want to hook up with the nastiest crack whore in the world!” Jul 6, 2006 by

“The hotel is conveniently located near Cedar Point and restaurants and was slightly less expensive than other nearby hotels. The room we stayed in was well-equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot and hairdryer. The room was MUCH smaller than we expected and was very cramped with little room for luggage or to move around. The bathroom was good-sized though. The pool area is exposed to street traffic and the advertised hot tub was not available for use. We requested a non-smoking room but it had an ashtray in the room and a cigarette burn in bedspread. Room was initially very clean but they did not clean room till third day and we had to request fresh towels. The stay was acceptable but would choose a different hotel if we stay in the area again.” Jun 26, 2006 by
