• The variety of activities the hotel offered. The beach! friendly staff. wow....the price I got from priceline
• Actually, I liked everything except we had a very small window that hampered our view.

“We would like to go back, but unfortunately we could not afford the regular price or prices as the season gets higher. We certainly will try Priceline.com again and hope to can get this hotel again for a price we can afford. The hotel charged $25.00 for all their activities including the cabana, which was nice. We had a great experience.”

• Lots of activities.
• Two roaches in one room switched rooms to find a wasp in the am in our new room. Need to spray for bugs!

“Hotel was impressive when we first arrived and went downhill quickly as our evening began, thank God we were only there one night. As soon as lights were turned off huge roach crawls in bed. and as we're getting ready to switch rooms another big roach climbs the curtains. We switch rooms and we slept with lights on so roaches would not come out. In all honesty I wanted to switch hotels all together. It was a major inconvenience! Had to switch rooms close to midnight with sick toddler in the midst of all this. My 7 year old daughter ran to me in the morning to wake me up to tell me about a wasp that was flying in the suite side were our toddler was sleeping. Nightmare of a stay! I would never recommend. Need to spray for bugs in rooms!”

• Average hotel.
• Charging extra for Internet, parking, swimming pool. Hidden fees. It is not a 4 stars hotel as advertised.

“The hotel was OK, but it is not a 4 stars hotel as advertised. It may be a 3.5 stars. They charge extra for Internet, swimming pool, parking.. There are hidden fees that you find out only at check in.”

• They sent us to their worst rooms they had. This building was for guests with pets.

“They have special rooms for guests. Worst rooms ever. Rooms in this building are normally for guests traveling with pets. And you could smell it.”

• Check in and Valet areas were crowded and traffic backed up often.

“Great place to take children and pets. The beach and pool areas were great with plenty of lounge chairs and Cabanas. A separate adult pool was a nice touch.”

• Great location at the beach, interesting layout for just strolling about.
• Elevators were very slow, very hot, and too few to handle volume of guests.

“A very nice place for a family or just a couple. Nice rooms, conveniently laid out. Very friendly and responsive staff. The grounds are pleasant and interesting. It is important to note that there is a $25 additional fee added for amenities - it is money well spent especially if you have a vehicle and would have to pay for parking otherwise, but the extra expense is not pleasant as a surprise.”

“Perfect vacation spot on the Gulf Coast. There is something for every member if the family. The staff is so friendly and accomodating. We will be going back and hopefully staying longer in the future.”

• Very friendly staff, Delicious food and good preparations at wedding on site.
• Had to pay additional $25/day for parking and amenities.

“Room was OK but refrigerator could not be adjusted properly and food was frozen at one time (peaches, milk). Bowls for cereal too small - had to buy some. Room small - had to move bed to open refrigerator to adjust shelf. Some doors in our building had exit sign but could not be opened as they had a metal barrier apparently to keep water out. Safety/fire violation? Food great, beach nice, pools clean. We were on 2nd floor and that floor had a very nice area with tables and chairs. I tend to wake up earlier than my husband so it allowed me to go outside and read. Perfect! Would have liked more palm trees at beach instead of hooded fabric covers. Location was very safe and good to major highways. Would recommend.”

• Beach tiki bar.
• Nickle and dime you to death.

“Additional guest fee of $25. They charged at check-in, if I had known that I would have offered less. $15 of it went for parking. We arrived at 5:15 pm and room wasn't ready as promised by 4pm. Next day we asked for late checkout and was told it was $20.00/hr. Kind of a Jip.”

• Restaurant choices.
• Very few oceanview rooms, can't see ocean from most places at resort.

“Property has a terrible layout. Most rooms do not overlook water. Only 3 very small pools for such a large resort, one is 21+. They did have a choice of restaurants which was nice. Obviously, better choices, unless you really did not come to see/play at the beach.”

• Dirty, bad smells in room & grounds, no air-conditioning in slow elevators.

“Water with the paddle boat rental was full of blue dye and looked like a tidy bowl commercial...smelled of sewage. Dirty, smelly, dark, dingy rooms. Dirty & stained walkways, carpets throughout complex. Outside showers broken so everybody was climbing into the pools with sand all over them. Pools were 90+ degrees and smelled of chlorine. Chairs around pools & beach were soiled/stained. Very disappointing stay!”

• Great beach.
• Poor service, unexpected daily fee of $25 per room.

“I checked in with 3 rooms. One room smelled so bad that it we had to complain, another room smelled heavily of cleaning material, the third was fine. After complaining they offered an upgrade room. The elevators were extremely slow with lines almost every time. One of my daughters got stuck on an elevator for 15 minutes with a full load of people with no AC in the elevators. We waited 90 min for breakfast one morning in the main breakfast room. Only after complaining did the food come out and the order was not correct for one individual who was diabetic. The hotel was crowded and very understaffed in all restaurants we dined. The food was average, not bad but noting to remember. The outside slide which appeared to be a big deal to the hotel costs $4 per ride or $30 for a daily pass. Overall this experience was one I would prefer to forget and definitely not repeat. I did not go into the hotels in the immediate area but I would say from the outside they did not appear to be as nice which is a bit scary because this hotel appears to be quite old. If you want luxury don't select this area of ST. Pete Beach.”

• Location, courteous staff, property layout.

“My husband and I took a 4 day honeymoon here. It was lovely and romantic, but was also a wonderful place for young children and families. The service was great, and the whole atmosphere was very relaxing. The nearby restaurants were great. The valet staff was especially pleasant.”

• Location was great, landscaping very nice.
• Room very small, pool area very crowded with drinking crowd.

“Thought this hotel would be a great place close to home for a romantic birthday get away. Not so. While I did not expect a luxurious room for the price I bid, I did think perhaps the front desk might offer an upgrade since occupancy was so low. This has been our experience at other resorts we have booked on line. Instead the desk clerk performed her duties like a robot & we were promptly directed to our room.
Bermuda restaurant hardly busy at 6 pm on Sunday evening. Portions were large, but the quality of the food was not worth the price.”

• It was on the beach.
• It was like being on a cruise ship that was on land. People everywhere and it was dirty. The pools, the public restrooms were nasty.

“You could not get in the pool because of the large groups of people already there. Many thing were in poor condition around the complex though you saw a lot of workers around. The room was the smallest room I have ever been in So small you could not move around with our bumping into something or someone.The carpet in the room was torned. The bathroom had burnt marks on the walls. The is no 4 star hotel.”

• I enjoyed it immensely. What's not to like.

“We enjoyed basking in the sun under the cabana. We are planning to come back because our visit was far too short. The hotel is beautifully decorated and very spacious.”

  loved all the amenities! starbucks, multiple pools and tons of kids activities.
• They nickle and dime you for everything, resort fee, copies, late check out of $20/hour past the super early 11:00 check out time.

“This was a great hotel for families with children, definitely the best on the beach. Accommodations were wonderful and proximity to amazing restaurants was perfect (walking distance). I wished there was better shopping on st. Pete beach (we had to go to Tampa for that). I had a pedicure at the hotel's spa, but it wasn't very good at all. Wouldn't do that again. I also wished they had servers taking drink/food orders around the pool and from the cabanas. overall, I would stay at this property again.”

• Clean and friendly staff!
• Swimming pools too small.

“The hotel rooms were very clean and had comfortable queen size beds. The pools were on the small side but it was not busy during our stay so it was fine for us. Only a few short steps to the beautiful beach which you can get a free cabana with your room key. The only negative thing was the $25.00 / day resort fee that was extra but other than that the stay was terrific.”

• The gardens and grounds.
• The room had a sliver of a window with a view of a stuccoed wall.

“We must have been put in the worst room with basically no window, only sliver of a window with a view of a wall. The amenities fee is very steep at $25/day. This is definately a family resort, don't come here if you won't want kids around. There seemed to be black mold in our bathroom. The beds were very small. They should remove the rug from the outdoor hallways. The cigarette burns and stains are a turn off.”

• Room was pleasant with fridge, microwave, dishes - beach was great!
• We had a squeaky fan motor that took a couple of days to get fixed - probably because of the weekend.

“We loved the location on the water and all that was available on the hotel grounds. The resort was very pretty with lots of flowers in bloom, staff was polite and helpful. The location on the water was excellent and the beach was beautiful. We would stay here again.”

• The staff was very friendly and the views were magnificent.

“The Tradewinds Island Grand was an experience I will never forget. The entire staff was very courteous and accommodating. The views were grand. Bermudas, the restaurant within the hotel, had excellent food and I will definitely return in the future. We enjoyed Salty's outdoor bar while watching the sunset on the ocean. The hotel was always neat and clean.”

• There were so many more amenities than I expected.
• I didn't like the bathroom sink being outside in the hallway separate from the toilet/tub.

“The rooms are not 4 star however, I can see from all the amenities and things to do at the hotel why it is considered that. I definitely loved this hotel and would go back and stay there again now that I've seen it in person.”

• Beach frontage, with cabanas was great!
• I did not like the additional $25 resort charge.

“We really liked this place and will go back again. Lots of activities going on all the time. The room looked a little dated, but we really liked the mini fridge/kitchen area. Although we did not use it, we also like that there was a range top and pans so guests can cook in their room. Beach and pools were very nice. Staff treated us great.”

• Far too many small children, room service closes at 11.

“My husband and I booked this hotel to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. The evening we checked in there were two other weddings going on in the hotel and there were two or three more scheduled for the next day when we checked out. It's a beautiful location, right on the beach. Surprisingly, the hotel is a bit of a maze and even though our hotel room faced the beach, it took five minutes to actually get down to the sand. Disappointingly, room service closes at 11 on Friday and Saturday night, so the hotel was unable to accommodate our request for a couple champagne glasses be sent up to our room, even though with 2 weddings on site, I'm sure they could have tried harder. This place was also teeming with families with small children, which was disappointing because we thought by booking a resort and paying extra for the luxury, it would have had fewer families. We'll come back to St. Pete's Beach but I don't think I liked this hotel enough to book and stay again.”

“A cockroach woke me up the 1st night crawling on my arm. When I turned the light on, I saw several more roachs crawling on the walls and floor. This ruined my sleep and made the next day difficult with all the meetings scheduled for me.”

• Beautiful grounds, right on the beach, pedal boats nice touch.
• Toilet kept flushing on its own/shower head actually coming out of wall/ called maintenance they didn't show up to repair.

“Beautiful grounds & public spaces, abundant activities but many with extra charge above & beyond the $25.00/day resort fee (slide, kids activities etc). We were on beach in cabana (included in resort fee) and at 5:30 employees came around & instead of walking up & saying something to the effect of just to let you know we need to close the cabana's in at half hour, they walk by & state you only have 25 minutes left with the poles & cushions (seemed kind of abrupt & curt).”

• Close to the beach.
• Noisy. Extra fees. Small rooms.

“Avoid this hotel unless there is no where else to stay on the coast. It is not even close to being a fours star hotel. The staff is laconic except when they knock on your door 15 times each morning to see if they can get in to clear prior to 10AM on the weekend in a beach resort area.”

• Pillows were like boulders - could not use/loud wedding music till 10pm.

• The rooms were beautifully decorated, fully equipped with living room and kitchen, comfortable bedding, lots of mirrors, location, water slide on beach.
• A little trash left by the pool area. Water slide expensive.

“Fantastic location on the Beach. Rooms were beautifully furnished suites with everything you need. Great pools, spas, restaurant choices, gym and even salon. Free paddle boat rides, but more work to paddle than fun. Awesome, gigantic water slide on beach. $4 per ride or $35 for day. Thought choice should be offered for free water slide instead of free paddle boats for the $25 plus tax resort fee or at least include a couple free rides and a reduced slide rate if staying more than one night.”

• Very friendly staff, the view was wonderful and I could see people enjoying themselves right from my balcony!! Lots of fun things to do!
• It was all good!

“The hotel staff was wonderful, they were very down to earth. Everyone just seemed so normal and not fake at all. You knew they were happy to help. The hotel put on so many events for the young children, even though my kids are grown, it was fun to see the children enjoying themselves. And the parents too!”

• Wonderful heated pools; gorgeous beach.
• Extra charges for some amenities.

“This property was a five-year-old's delight. Two heated swimming pools and a beautiful beach gave my son plenty of water time. We rode a paddle boat around the creek that circles the property, and he played on the playground. If you have a small child -- this place is a winner.”

• Beautiful ocean/beach location.
• Not all rooms had equal views.

“Our hotel room is starting to show age and wear. The stairways are not inviting so the elevator use can be trying. The lobby is beautiful as are the other recent upgrades. The grounds are maintained very nicely and the staff is very helpful and friendly. The beach location and activities are well worth the visit.”
