• A fantastic, flawless beach.
• No wireless internet, but I got a signal from adjacent hotel.

“It is the type of place where carloads of single women show up on Friday night, get drunk, do things they would not do back home and leave with a hangover on Sunday afternoon. Not bad if you like that sort of thing.”

• Couldn't have asked for more. We shall return. But the front desk is in need of a tiny face lift. Once past the front desk, we were very impressed.
• Outdated office furniture and floor carpet in the front desk. Also, too little soft music from the live bands at the hotel bar.

“We had every possible need catered to. The beach was a few yards from our room, the pool had a very low to a deep water range appropriate for 5 year olds and adults alike, there was a hotel bar with live music which played all day long and which served drinks to guests in the pool, there were European style food cafes for morning and mid day meals across the street from the hotel, there was a seven eleven across the street and a gift shop next to it with more items than a grocery store, a McDonalds a few streets away and were centrally located to go to the downtown area for entertainment such as the pier, museum, dolphin viewing cruises, etc. Great vacation.”

• House keeping did a great job. Front desk very friendly.
• Bar/Food staff very unfriendly. Hotel old, needs maintenance.

“The landscaping was wonderful, front desk friendly, and housekeeping. The hotel parking is terrible down a narrow one lane alley. Its a very old building in need of much maintenance. Their indoor food locations allowed full smoking despite FL being a smoke free state. The wait and bar staff were very unfriendly and twice drove away our business. This hotel does not deserve 2 1/2 stars, it is far below that. Romance at this place, no way. Never did we feel pampered nor really romantic here.”

• I liked being close to the beach.
• Overcharging for beach chairs and umbrellas.

“This hotel was good as far as what we needed it for. We spent most our time away from the room. The beach was close by, staff was friendly and informative. The music at night was great.”

• Jimmy B's Beach bar had a great atmosphere and it was easy to enjoy.
• The bathroom was small and the room had a faint smell I couldn't recognize.

“Upon arrival at the Beachcomber, the staff was quick and friendly- we were able to get to our room in no time. The housekeepers were always concerned about the cleanliness of the room and of anything we needed. The courtyard area was well taken care of as well as the pool areas. The hotel is a casual place to stay, close to convince stores and restaurants. Would stay here again.”

• It is located on the beach.
• A lot of rowdy parties at the hotel.

“We were given rooms you had to walk up a flight of stairs with your luggage. My mother had trouble with the stairs and we had to switch her room downstairs. Next door was a party which was very noisy. People had luggage on the lawn, the pool was dirty. Parking was difficult on the weekend.”

• Common area is relaxing with beautiful trees and shrubs and nearby beach.
• The room was short on amenities and very old looking. Too much light in room while sleeping.

“Good family type place for those on a economy budget. Many stores and restaurants nearby on a busy street. The on-site entertainment is a plus for those liking diversions without driving your car. Beach on site is a big plus.”

• Private beach access, outdoor live music and fun atmosphere, clean and friendly staff.
• Nothing comes to mind except parking on the side of the building.

“This hotel should be described as a resort. I would stay longer next time. It was the best hotel that we stayed at while visiting Florida. This hotel is a must if traveling with children and is just as much fun for adults.”

• Took almost 1 hour to check in (nobody else there!).

“We reserved 5 rooms, 2 of the rooms arrived later than us and they only gave them 1 room for 5 large, tall people. Not very professional. Room not very clean, toothpaste in sink, bed linens wrinkled and not crisp. Good location.”

• Parking spaces are very tight.

“This hotel is located directly on the beach. There are 2 heated pools and an inside bar & a beach bar with daily entertainment. There are several restaurants within walking distance. Our room was efficiency with a separate equipped kitchenette. It was spacious with a walk in closet and all the amenities including a safe, clock, hairdryer, iron/board and free wifi. It was a very enjoyable "pre Christmas" holiday.”

“I would recommend this hotel only because of the location. The beds were very small, the room was very outdated and not very clean, and the fixtures (plumbing) didn't work well.”

“The people were very friendly when I checked in. Besides the walls being a little thin and the carpet being old, the overall stay was pleasant. I would say this is one of the better privately owned hotels I have stayed in.”

“The quality of the room was lower than I expected. The room was clean but very old. Bathroom was clean but very sparse and dated. Nice beach bar (drinks very expensive, $9.00 for 2 beers). Beach location was very nice. I might stay there again if the price is right.”

“I would have liked some kind of workout room - even a few weights and treadmill would have been nice. Otherwise, the pools were nice (but too many people smoking) and the music at the beach bar was a pleasant background.”

• Relaxing in the pools they have two!! At the larger pool the restaurant/bar staff will bring you a tasty tropical drink or food poolside!
• The limited counter space around bathroom sink.

“The hotel, bar, and restaurant staff were all nice, helpful, and enjoyable people. The room I stayed in was close to both pools, and the ice machine. My room had a walk-in closet, and a kitchen with dishes, microwave, refrigerator, stove, coffee maker, and even a toaster! I was not expecting some of the amenities that were available. I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel.”

• Old rooms, some things didn't work right, loud bands every night.

“On the beach, rooms are dates and worn, door was difficult to get fully closed/locked; drapes didn't block all light at night, loud at night with bands that play every night at the bar. Parking was a bit sketchy on side of building, hard to get out, had to back up entire length of building. Didn't feel completely safe. Good place to party though.”

• It was located near the beach.

“This hotel is ok if you are with a group of people that come to party and don't really care about being in a nice hotel or being able to see the beach from your hotel. It is kind of old and rundown and could use some renovation. There were some decent restaurants that were close (we recommend Snappers). If we weren't on the beach, we spent most of our time in Tampa, which is about a 30 min car ride, but it was worth it to actually have some entertainment options. If I were to stay in this area again, I'd choose to be closer to Clearwater/Tampa. It just wasn't what we were expecting.”

• The desk staffs were fantastic and very accommodating.
• This hotel does not rate three stars.

“There were roaches in the bathroom. We did not need a kitchen and that wasn't an option. This hotel does not rate 3 star, as rooms are old and out of date. However, they have the best staff Ive ever encountered.”

“If you're traveling on business, this isn't your hotel. No work space. No business center. No quiet. No coffee or place to eat breakfast. It's only, maybe, ok if you're spending all your time on the beach and just need a bed and a bathroom. You won't get anything else.”

• The pool was nice. They let us check out an hour later so we could swim.
• Everything except the pool.

“You park in a narrow one-way alley and can only leave by driving in reverse the whole length of the buildings. If that's full you park across the street behind 7-11. Room was filthy, ice bucket had unknown gunk on it, oven was filled with what looked like a burnt pizza; carpet was filthy, toilet was not fully attached to floor and wobbled. Bathroom was very small; looked like black mold on the window; door frame was rotting. Worst of all - towels felt like sandpaper. One restaurant is in a Smokey bar; the other is a bar where food is cooked at bar #1 and carried to bar #2. "Patio" is two chairs set in the hallway. "Kids" game room was tiny and was smoke filled. The lobby smelled of smoke as did our room. Definitely not a 3 star! Should have paid $25 more and gone to somewhere nice. Don't make the same mistake as me! There was nothing "upscale" about this place.”

• This hotel is right on the beach, and has a nice garden. Staff very friendly.
• Our room had roaches and a leak in the ceiling. Wi-Fi.

“This hotel is in an excellent location, it is literally right on the beach. However this hotel badly needs major renovations. Many common area items were worn or broken. Our first room came complete with roaches, and a leak in the ceiling. The second room was much nicer, with a beach view - but no Wi-Fi coverage, and a beach bar which kept us up all hours of the night. The restaurant on premises was actually a sports bar, with typical bar fare. Both bars were unabashed rip offs. A simple, small well drink in a plastic cup was $7.50 excluding tip. Management uses a 'club' for the locals to drink for far less while soaking the guests. Parking is inadequate, and inconvenient.”

• The staff brought a fan to help cool the room when I asked them.
• The air conditioner didn't work very well.

“Overall, I was disappointed in this hotel room. The room was a little shabby and, if you left the bathroom door open, unbearably hot. The staff, however, was very pleasant and brought a fan to the room when I asked for it. This act along with closing the bathroom door cooled the room considerably. This is not a hotel that I am eager to return to.”
