“Very nice hotel. Good view of Clearwater Bay, good restaurants off of site. Wanted King or Queen beds and got two doubles. Overall a great stay but a bit pricey (maybe due to holiday weekend.).”

• The lobby has ice water with fresh cut up citrus.
• Kokomos restaurant is not worth the time or $$.

“The view of the gulf and intercostals water ways is breathtaking, and you can see both from your suite. Getting to the beach on the beach buggy is fun and really easy. I had a problem in the poolside cafe, the food took forever and it was not a good value for what you pay.”

• I loved being able to look out of my balcony and see fish swimming along in the water below.
• If you are running late, don't count on getting to Clearwater in a hurry.

“This location was perfect for the short get-away with my husband. It afforded a perfect view from the front and the back. The restaurants were good and we enjoyed the hike to the beach.”

• Problem getting the bathroom door fixed. No king beds available.

• Staff was helpful and friendly. All rooms are suites with a view of the bay.
• Most rooms with a king bed are handicap accessible.

“Excellent location on quiet sand key. All rooms are suites with a view of the bay on one side and a view of the beach on the entrance side. Beautiful pool with waterfall and Tiki bar (excellent blackened grouper sandwich!). Excellent breakfast buffet. Hotel parking is free. A trolley is available for $1.25/person for transportation to Clearwater beach and other local points of interest.”

• Unique two-room suites with wonderful views of the bay (not ocean front). Top notch bedding.
• Room decor are close to being outdated; small bathroom.

“There were three things that made for an unpleasant feeling by staying at this hotel: (1) front desk staff was not accommodating (2) early check-in, room preference was the lowest (worst?) Floor (3) late check-out. This was for a hotel that was not at capacity (according to the night auditor when I called for info). Second-class treatment is not acceptable.”

• Lots of kids, no beach access.

“This hotel is great for families. Lots of great things for them to do and also a babysitting service in the evening for parents to go out. Traveling alone, I thought the pool was very crowded and definitely bombarded with kids. There is a great pool and a great view, but no access to the beach. I have stayed at the Sheraton across the street and they have access to sand key. Overall a really nice hotel with excellent staff.”

• Nice pool very, friendly staff, beautiful views.
• 1 water bug in room, a little bit of a drive to Tampa not on beach.

“Nice hotel, overall quite clean. large suite rooms with refrigerator and wet bar. nice hotel across from the beach. great views of both the gulf on one end of the room and the ocean on the other end. free parking. no resort fees. jet ski rentals at the pool (did not use). would use again.”

• Beautifully decorated, clean, many outdoor activities, great places to eat nearby.
• It was on the intercostals waterway and not the gulf.

“Our one bedroom suite as beautifully decorated and large enough for my family of four. The pool area was large, clean and fun. Jet skis and Para sailing were available from the hotel boardwalk. We had a beautiful view of the gulf and the intercostals waterway from our room. Hotel staff was courteous and helpful. I hoped to be on the gulf side of the road but a courtesy trolley was available to transport us free of charge to the beautiful beach across the street”

• Rooms were very spacious.
• Outdoor access to all rooms.

“Overall not a bad hotel. Hotels rooms could only be accessed by out-door hallways. Since it rained a lot, hallways were often wet and really slippery. Almost fell several times. Hotel staff should have cleaned the hallways better. Also, location is not that great compared to other hotels. Nice pool, but no beach accesses.”

• Great location, very clean. Staff was great, very friendly and accommodating.
• Pool was a little cloudy and they ran out of towels.

“I would highly recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family. Great location, right next to a strip mall and an excellent restaurant. The hotel overlooked the ocean but you had to take a shuttle to the beach, which actually was not a problem at all, the shuttle was a courtesy of the hotel. The room was very nicely decorated and clean. Staff was very friendly and informative. The only down side of my stay was the pool being a little cloudy and the lack of towels in the pool area.”

• Great for kids, safe, beautiful pool area, very helpful staff.
• Bathroom a bit small, exterior corridors.

“I took my 16 year old niece and my 5 year old daughter for a girls day/night. We had a great time. All the rooms look out over the water and our room was very clean. We had a balcony as well. The staff was great, they took us in a golf cart to Sand Key beach and picked us up. We stayed a few hours and then spent a few hours at the pool (my niece loved the pool and said she wished she could stay a week). In the evening we drove over to Pier 60 (just a few miles), parked in the public lot. This was less expensive then taking the trolley and the trolley stops at 10pm so if you stay later than you have to take a cab. There's lots of stuff going on at the Pier and we stayed several hours. We all really enjoyed everything about our stay and would definitely return.”

• I loved the views from my room!
• Parking was a little bit difficult.

“At first I was nervous that it was on the bay and not the beach. But my view was wonderful! They had all the right amenities and everything right there for you. Overall, it was a good time. I will try to go back there on my anniversary this year.”

• The washrooms were tiny but that is okay.

“The lobby was great to look at. The spa was great. The pool area was nice and big with sunlight on the sun worshipers from AM to PM. The staff around the pool were friendly and attentive. Room service people were attentive also.”

• The pool has a waterfall and great bar!

“The rooms in this hotel are amazing! They are all water front (intercostals) and the beach can be seen from the front of every room, which faces away from the intercostals and towards the Gulf of Mexico. The room had a sitting area, separated by a hall with door which leads into the bedroom. Keep crossing the large bedroom to the great balcony overlooking the waterfalls into the pool. You can also catch the dolphins playing the morning and warm afternoon waters of the intercostals just beyond the pool!”

“When we decided to visit my nephew for a day while on a short trip to Florida we didn't have any overnight plans. On short notice we got for a "room". What a wonderful surprise when we drove up, not knowing what to expect. The Marroitt was beautiful. Only wish we had better weather.”

• Friendly staff, awesome view, comfortable suites. beautiful pool and great kids activities.
• A little further from pier than we wanted to be not still not a long walk

“Every staff member seemed genuinely intent on ensuring that we had a wonderful vacation. Our view was exquisite on both sides of our suite. The cascading waterfall along the curvy pool was beautiful and the pool was large enough for the many swimmers that enjoyed it. The ocean was beautiful and although it was across the street, the staff drove us there and provided chairs and water and then picked us up when we were ready to return to the hotel. We would love to return there for our next summer vacation.”

• The staff was extremely helpful.
• The hotel was across the road from the beach which was a little inconvenient. The hotel made up for it by taking us over to the beach on a golf cart.

“The hotel was clean and very comfortable. It is an all suite hotel so the room accommodates six even though on priceline you only bid for 2. We took our kids without any trouble. The hotel is across the street from the beach but has a lovely pool, sand volleyball, workout room, and lots of activities for the whole family. Far enough away from the public beach frenzy at clearwater but close enough to go over if you want to.”

“Great hotel with very friendly service. People work in the service desk make me feel I am home. I found movie was playing next to the swimming pool. The in-room A/C runs low noise but the outside generator is very noisy.

• the staff was great and it was a great place to take a family
• the hotel was not right on the beach but it had a great view of the water

“We would recommend this hotel. It was in a great location and there was a boardwalk connected to it where you could find cute restaurants, shops and even a mini grocery store. You almost would not have to rent a car if you stayed there (unless the weather is bad and you want to get away). Our 4 year old thought it was great!”

• The Staff was really nice.
• The Rooms and the Bathrooms in particluar are not a Suite size.

“We did not have a room with 2 queen beds. They put us in room 315; the beds were full size. We were put on the 3rd floor even though there was a party scheduled for one of the nights and the loud music kept us up until midnight. The hotel was not even close to being full and they could have moved us further away from the party when we checked in.”
