- We were impressed with the spaciousness and the cleanliness.
- For the comfort of the other person, the hair dryer should be in the actual bathroom.
“Very, very pleased with the staff that we had contact with. Very, very pleased with the size of the room/suite. Very, very pleased with the cleanliness of the room and everything else we saw of the hotel. Very, very pleased with everything mentioned above especially at the price we negotiated!”

- I did not receive a cookie this time.
“The staff was very friendly. We were trying to find some activity later in the evening that did not include bar hopping. They suggested some movie theaters & offered to get a taxi for us. Will stay again.”

“Very nice hotel, very nice room. View from the 5th floor was not nice on the side we stayed at, but there was no other room available (they said). We called ahead and asked for a king-size bed but we got 2 queen-sized instead.”

- Good location, near many good restaurants, convenient to convention center.
- They "nickel and dime you"! Newspaper not complimentary, Wi-Fi not complimentary, no shuttle to convention center, careless desk clerks!
“Overall, I'd give it a "7.5" rating. As noted, many standard complementeries such as newspapers. Wi-Fi, etc. are the usual at most hotels of this type. Not so here! Desk clerks not very helpful and somewhat arogant. Rooms were great, very comfortable, but there's more to a Hotel than conditon of the rooms!”

- I liked the openness of the rooms, and the comfortable bed!
- I do not like the parking, I thought the fee was very high and parking was dangerously close to other cars.
“I thought it was a very nice place to stay besides the parking fee and the parking spaces being to close, that at this point cant be changed but the fee's could, I would stay here again, I do prefer it over the Hyatt but valet parking is great to have there.”

- My address was incorrect; my room was not what I had booked.
“The hotel is very good about correcting any problems with the internet registration. My address was given to the hotel incorrectly and my selection of type of room was also wrong. All of these problems were corrected almost immediately by the hotel.”

- Large suite rooms with 2 TVs and fridge/microwave/coffee maker.
- Restaurant breakfast was way overpriced, and skimpy meal, waitress was blunt.
“The hotel was about a 3 long block walk from Nationwide Arena, and the Arena district. It was in a nice area. They charge eighteen dollars a day (weekdays) for parking with in/out privileges. There isn't a pool on site. The suites are large, like 2 rooms connected by French doors. One side was with a table and chairs/loveseat/kitchenette/TV/desk. The other side 2 beds/bath/TV. Nice if you are traveling with kids. We found used food in the fridge, but the room overall was clean.”

- Free parking for guests would be nice.
“Everything about this hotel is exceptional the large, quiet suites, the convenient location in Downtown Columbus, the friendly and helpful staff, etc. Although the hotel doesn't have a swimming pool or fitness room on the premises, the free pass to the nearby lifestyle fitness center is a great substitute. I have stayed in this hotel several times over the years (by myself on business, and also with my family) and it's always been an enjoyable experience.”

- The suite provided was beautiful, clean and spacious.
- The hotel staffs seemed unorganized at both check in and check out.
“The location was in downtown Columbus. We had Asuite which overlooked downtown and was very beautiful. The suite was spacious, clean and quite attractive with furnishings. For the price, we could have never stayed anywhere else and had the accommodations we had here.”

“Hotel was a nice sized room, however there was half eaten pizza on the couch in our room, the trash cans were not cleaned, maybe emptied but not cleaned. Staff sent someone to pick up pizza off of couch. No apology from management, only follow-up was from a member of cleaning staff. No offer to change rooms, if it wasn't for the no credit/refund we would have left. Not sure that I will book a hotel this way again, I booked 4 reservations through on this trip alone, and probably the last.”

- No pool - a fine hotel such as this should have a pool.
“This is definitely geared towards business travelers; especially attorneys (the Supreme Court is across the street). Families would do OK here, as these are suite rooms with sofa beds. Very comfortable beds and elegant decor.”

- Parking prices were excessive, no recreation facilities on site.
“The beds, bedding were great, the rooms were conducive to relaxing. Appliances were clean and user friendly. Without pools, fitness center on site, no recreation was available so the family atmosphere does not exist. Elevators were not as convenient as you must use two separate systems when coming into the building and going to your room. Overall, the stay was good.”

“Great location! Nice staff. Parking was $15 for an overnight stay with no, which seems expensive. Walls seemed to be thin, because my wife and I could hear people talking all night. The bathroom tile grout was mildewed! Gross! Our toilet barely flushed. Rooms really need updated.”

- The bathrooms were outdated, moldy tile grout, expensive parking.
“The hotel is very easy to locate on main road downtown. Warm cookies are a nice touch at check in. Lobby builds great expectations for the room, but room was out dated. There was mold in the tile grout and the toilet didn't work. We heard folks under us screaming through the night which may have been unseen circumstances.”

- The conscientious staff members.
- Cleaning staff spoke no English, which created confusion.
“Given the prime location, I would have expected a more luxurious first impression at street level, as well as lobby level. In contrast, first impression was continuously one of a vacant hotel with little activity. The restaurant and bar areas were very ordinary, and the food was sub-standard for hotels. The staff was the overriding compensation for what the hotel lacked. Otherwise, very friendly and very accommodating.”

- The clean and welcoming atmosphere was great.
- The response time for assistance from desk. Ended up going down to lobby.
“It was a beautiful room and very clean. Beds were very comfortable. Would have been nice to have a ramp to unload from parking deck. It was difficult to move the carrier/cart. No assistance was offered just advised where cart were. Overall, I still liked the hotel. I did not get any bonus bucks as promised.”

- Good location on a edge of Downtown, huge rooms, and nice decor.
- Wish the bathroom would be cleaner and better maintained.
“This is a very nice hotel, conveniently located on the edge of Downtown, within a short walking distance to restaurants, bars, theatre and shopping. They definitely have a wonderful and very pleasant staff. Since this is a suite hotel, all rooms are oversized and nicely decorated with all the amenities you would expect. There's no valet parking, but the self parking is in the same building with easy access to elevators, and most importantly priced a lot lower than other nearby hotels. The only bad thing about my stay was that the bathroom was definitely not cleaned to my standards. A growing mildew all over the shower curtain and tiles around bathroom looks very bad, and when I checked in there was only one bath size towel prepared (?), with few tiny hand towels.”

“Poor service. Hidden costs. Parking is $15.00 for everyone else guest pay 18.00 for the same 24 hour usage. Room service is slow often coming in the late afternoon. A candy bar is $2.50 for a small size bar. Bathrooms are dirty when I arrived. Doubletree is not on my list for the future.”

- Cleaning crew was horrible, bed sheets were dirty, no spare toilet paper in bathroom.

- The doubletree cookie.
- The linens were stained and ill-used.
“The service staff appeared ill-prepared, the lobby has a weird configuration, and I never saw a bellman. The room was pretty nice, but the linens were stained and I had to ask for them to be changed. It was centrally located, but I did not have a fun experience.”

- The location of the hotel was good and next to the river, the cookies are also good, and the night clerk Patricia was excellent.
- I did not like the room's location, poor view, and the hotel does not have a whirlpool or gym onsite, wireless is a paid service, smell mildew also.
“This hotel has spacious rooms and excellent hotel personnel. This hotel lacks in amenities for business travelers. Though it had a business center the key to access flash drives on the computer was locked at night and the night clerk did not have a key. This hotel has great potential but some attention to details in decor and repair maintenance is needed in corridors.”

- Bellman met us at curbside to provide directions to parking and checking.
- No storage in bar sink area.
“Located across from the Ohio supreme court building, the room provided a pleasant view of the riverfront. It is an easy walk to most downtown office buildings and the arena district. A slightly longer walk takes you to the short north area, with many dining options. Overall, a nice place to stay.”

- Complimentary cucumber/lemon or orange scented water: addictive.
- The exercise facilities were great, but not at the hotel (3 blocks); two different sets of elevators from street then to room.
“Aside from the minor inconvenience of a walk to the exercise facility (it is exercise, after all) and transferring from one set of elevators to another to get to your room, our stay exceeded expectations. We got an enormous suite for the price of a 1.5 to 2-star hotel. They really wowed us with service, accommodations, and quality. We traveled with our three kids, aged 8-11, and there was a nice mix of business and family travelers. Very quiet, restful. It was great! We were amazed!”

- Lots of room. Nicely decorated.
- There were no towels, missing down comforter on one bed, the refrigerator was leaking in one of our rooms, smell of smoke in nonsmoking room.
“The hotel is very nice, spacious and nicely decorated. Large bathrooms with all the amenities necessary for the traveler. The kitchenette is a great addition especially for business travelers. The pillows and comforters are down, which is unheard of in 3 star hotels (a nice surprise). Except for a few minor problems, we had a good overall stay.”
