• The hotel was within walking distance of everything we wanted to do in Detroit.

“The room was comfortable, the staff was very friendly and helpful and we loved the location. The fitness center was very nice and there was a great outdoor running track on the roof. The pool was small and too warm.”

• Very large, clean comfortable rooms.
• Very weak shower head, poor sign age from parking garage to lobby.

“I have stayed at the property before and would recommend it for a stay in downtown Detroit. It is newly renovated and convenient to the Renaissance Center and other downtown amenities. There is a people mover stop at the hotel.”

• Clean, nicely decorated, large rooms, good location if you need to be downtown.
• Insufficient parking area for loading purposes. Would like to be able to smoke in outdoor areas (only) but could only smoke on city property.

“Excellent staff, clean, felt safe on hotel property, good location if you need to be downtown. Parking was not as inconvenient as I feared. Make sure you understand though that parking is not included in room fee.”

• The staff was very friendly and helpful. Every single person was great!
• No Wi-Fi. but it did have high speed modem.

“I was not disappointed. The check-in was fast, friendly and helpful. The room was clean, contemporary, almost upscale in appearance. It was extremely quiet (I was on the 11th floor) and the air conditioning worked perfectly. We asked for and got a late check out and were allowed to put our bags in our car and then leave the car for the rest of the day at no extra charge. The fee for the valet parking was $20.00 but was very worth it. We were told we could self-park for $10 but decided not to because of huge crowds for the jazz festival. At night you must show your key to get to your room and that made me think it was dangerous outside, but I was happy and the person checking was very nice. I recommend this hotel highly.”

“Our stay was great. We went to the Joe for a rock concert and it was easy getting back and forth to our room on the monorail. Greek town was close walking distance and many good places to eat.”

• Spacious, accommodating, nice view.
• At check-in I was asked to provide my credit card for incidentals, but at check-out was charged for the mandatory valet parking fee of $20.

“Everything was beyond expectation except for the fact that at check-in I was asked to provide my credit card for incidentals and at check-out was charged the $20 mandatory valet parking fee to my credit card. I believe mandatory valet parking is not an incidental item.”

• We stayed at two different hotels, both were a wish come true!
• Expensive valet parking, but still nice to have.

“Again, we stayed at two hotels and I can't properly describe how excited and pleased we were with our experiences. The hotels were in the exact locations we needed, it was definitely upscale and luxurious and it truly made our trip worth while. We were treated respectfully.”

• Very convenient location - with the Detroit People Mover.
• There is not free parking with this hotel.

“My spouse, I and another couple came down for the night to go to the three casinos in Detroit. Having the Detroit people mover right in the building was convenient. Not having parking was not.”

• I like the fact that you did not have to leave the hotel for anything.
• Dangerous for female to leave the hotel alone. Lots of homeless people.

“The hotel was very clean, comfortable and had everything you could need without leaving the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bad thing was it's directly Downtown Detroit, confusing to find and expensive to park. Also, lots of begging homeless people every where. If you stay at the hotel you are safe!”

“Very beautiful scenery that ovary looks the Detroit river and bridge and tunnel to Canada. This hotel has the potential to be a five star based on the quality staff and service. I just think that the munu need improvement. I bought chicken that made me very sick and it was very dry. However I tried the tilapia and that was excellent. Overall, it was a great experience.”

“Although I obtained a great rate on this room, and it suited my needs well, the fact that the only parking was to use valet, at $20 a night, or a public garage 1/2 a block away, at $15 a trip. The restaurant is WAY over priced for its low quality of food, $13.75 for a cheeseburger that at Burger King is $4.50. Beds soft, pillows nice, No room divider as shown and good location for shopping if you do your homework.”

• I loved that it was right across from the border crossing.
• The heater was stuck on high. Very uncomfortable night.

“This hotel very overall very good. Clean lobby, great staff, beautifully decorated. I would not recommend it to vacationers as we had a very difficult time finding affordable restaurants in the area. We got a great rate on the hotel, but ended up blowing our budget on food. Also, it was not in the best neighborhood, so didn't feel all that comfortable walking around.”

• Friendly staff showing great concern for quality customer stay.
• Everything about the place was great.

“Staff was very friendly and courteous. Hotel rooms were spacious. Many dining and entertainment options within walking distance of the hotel. Renaissance Center located right next door. Valet parking was not used, as there were several parking options located nearby. There was a convention being held at the hotel, yet I was unaware of it other than signs being posted. One of the best places to stay in Detroit.”

• Much nicer than I expected. The room was huge and nicely decorated.
• The hotel restaurant/bar closed at 11pm on a Saturday night.

“We drive by the hotel the first time because we couldn't believe that could be the place. It had a very grand entrance and beautiful lobby. Our room was huge. The bed was comfortable and the view was nice. The exercise faculties were amazing, amidst better than my gym at home. The staff was friendly and the room service was reasonable for breakfast. I would stay here again.”

• The room and view were beautiful. It was much more than I expected.
• The restaurant service was horrible. I had to alert the manager. The food was overpriced as well.

“The courtyard in downtown Detroit was a good place for an overnight stay on a business trip. The hotel is conveniently located across the street from the renaissance center. The rooms were huge and well appointed. They were clean but not sparklingly clean. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. I ordered room service, which was expensive (as was parking) but the staff delivered my meal quickly and even called to confirm my wine choice so as not to err. The food was very good. Overall, I had a relaxing stay and would recommend the hotel for business travelers.”

• My room was much larger than I expected. It was more like a small suite than a single room.
• Access from the parking garage skyway to the hotel is confusing.

“This hotel is a great cheaper version of the huge Marriott hotel across the street in the Renaissance Center. I like the small size of the hotel. I arrived around 1 a.m. and found that the staff was extremely friendly and helpful even though they were having computer difficulties. It did not hinder my stay. My room was extremely nice with a pull-out couch, desk and a larger bathroom updated bathroom.”

• We asked to have a king size bed but ended up with two doubles.

• Smallish (not small) lobby.

“Location, location, location. If you need to be near combo hall / Joe Louis arena in downtown Detroit, it's a 10-minute walk. Unmemorable room (neither good nor bad). An alternative to the pricier Marriott renaissance center across the street which is so big you have trouble getting oriented. Bar nice for small gatherings after a convention day.”
